Dope ice cream creations! This was the 1st place I tried rolled ice cream a few years back. It wasnt crowded @ all this visit. Good stuff. Only down side was that the rest rooms were closed and the inner hall area needed a quick sweep n mop.
Went for my son birthday... The best dessert! Very consistent with favorite and presentation! We will be BACK!
Once again this place surprises me yes there are some things that are not tolerable which is the long wait. Very Little available staff. but they’re crepes. Are well worth it. still enjoy the taste and flavor of the ice cream in the center, with the pocky sticks on the side, and fresh fruit at each corner mouthwatering. Their Thai ice cream rolls/ice cream are also pretty delicious. they also have milkshakes. So if you want some dessert and a little spot where you can hang out listen to music chitchat with your pals. come on over to ice Max. Where there is more choices in deserts and the atmosphere comfortable.
This was my first time here. They’re super accommodating! They have a set menu for the crepes. The one I wanted had pistachio in it, it but I’m allergic to pistachios so he let me take that out & add extra sweet custard instead. When I got the crepe the fruit was sooo fresh! Not only was it pretty but it tastes amazing too! The decorations are also super cute! This is my new spot now in Chinatown, will definitely be returning!
Best crepe place in Chinatown and one of the better crepe places in Chicago area. Its personal preference, but the texture of their crepes could be better so I give 4.5 stars. Reasonable amount of fruits for the price. If you are craving crepes and youre within 15min of driving, Id come here for sure! People are pretty nice here and their rolled ice creams are very good too! The reason for 4 stars is because theyre often closed at night during the hours the website (?) and Google map say theyre open. Weve driven all the way there to find out theyre closed at least 3 times..
Waited 45 minutes from the time we ordered for a cup of ice cream rolls with almost no toppings. Tasted ok, but not worth the wait. Many other options in the area.
I gotta say, what an incredible gem this place is. At night busy, like any good dessert shop, but they did an incredible job at moving the line forward. The Bumble Bee (Nutella, Graham Crackers, Bananas) I had was fantastic - and oh so creamy too! Great prices, at $5.75+tax surprisingly less than what I was expecting to pay.
Great place for rolled ice cream and crepes. They even have a coming soon menu that will have food like avocado and bacon wrapped crepes. Ill definitely give it a try. We have been here multiple times too! They were really dead today because of bad snowy weather which makes the wait great! Haha!I ordered the Creamcheese Delight Crepes but instead of the blueberries I requested to change it out strawberries! My daughter got the Colorful World!
This is one the best roller ice cream i ever had. One of the best place in chinatown to relax and have fun with friends. Their banana chocolate roller ice cream is the best. The place is so friendly and clean. They also have games to play while enjoying ice cream. The best thing i love about this place is they have board where you can write something on sticky notes and stick on the board to leave or creat your memory. Definitely recommend to go with you friends and family.
Ive never had rolled ice cream before, so this place really set the bar high for what I expect next time I do. They have different kind of choices for rolled ice cream, which is really nice. Theyre all different flavors and provide crepes as well! They let you view how they make the rolled ice cream to the side. The lounge area is very chill. My only gripe about the place is that the music was too loud during my visit. I had to talk louder than usual just to speak to my group sitting in front of me. Other than that, the place was great!
It was actually difficult to eat. The plastic spoon threatened to break like a South American rope bridge in a kids adventure movie. It was tasty and the bustle and noise of creating it were entertaining. The style of the spot was inviting and warm and kitschy. Buy disposable bamboo pallet spoons and this would be five star for sure.
I got a banana nutella crepe and it was amazing! My friend got the signature crepe and he really enjoyed it as well. I would highly recommend this place! It was cold out the day we went so we didnt get ice cream, but I will definitely be back to try it out. They have games like connect four which makes it a fun place to relax.
This is my first experience of having rolled ice cream. Ice Max made the experience amazing! Great flavor and presentation.
We love this place. We go for the rolled ice cream and stuffed crepes. We come all the time with the kids. They have an amazing variety of desserts. Their crepes are like no other. The texture is so much better than other places that just feel like a raw pancake. They make sure every last bite is filled with flavor. We never get sick of it.
I looooove it!!! Best place in China town ever, the crepe are the best!!!
Came here a few months ago with my friends and the ice cream is amazing, I got the dark knight one and it was so good would recommend coming here.
Clean store, friendly staff, short line, good quality
Is real good never a line but the crew always has an attitude
Got the thai and key lime rolled ice cream and it was all delicious. Everything is made to order in front of you so there may be a wait, but it looks just like their pictures and the fruit and toppings are very fresh.
I haven’t been here in a while due to pandemic but I love their Crepes especially the Banana and Nutella one! Have a couple of fond memories here.
I was craving crepes since quarantine. I got some today and it tasted as good as I remembered it. Im surprised the guy making my crepe let me eat there. Granted it was empty, the environment was nice. I recommend the matcha red bean crepe
It tastes amazing! The staff are polite and friendly although the waiting times are a bit long, still worth it though! Just saying, but I recommend strawberry shortcake, panda panda, and the hulk! Very delicious and much faster prepping time than others Ive seen, so definitely worth it!
Ordered strawberry banana crepe. Not very flavorful but it was okay for not overpowering sweet
I went for the bubble tea and the iced teas, I ordered 8 drinks. Each one was disgusting, the Thai tea tasted like water, the boba taste like plastic, the milk tea was also flavorless. The iced teas were also described as tasting like shampoo, bitter and garbage water. That was $45 wasted on garbage, all the drinks were thrown away after the one sip.
Ice cream so good :3 thx
This is a good place. I kept coming back here and will come back again too. I like their ambiance too. Not a big menu but good enough for a dessert place. The place is clean and sometimes this place might have a significant amount of waiting time.
Very fast service and we were treated to quality desserts, nice hidden little gem 💎Definitely would recommend this place to friends and family!
Dirty bathroomsFood ok
Nice place
Really good crepes.
The ice cream was good but the place is very small with only 2 people working there, so therefore it was a long wait for us, or maybe it was bad timing for us.
Super delicious Thai ice cream! I had the black sesame flavor with mochi, it was so good! This is a must try for anyone who hasn’t had Thai ice cream.
Great ice cream. Colorful World has Fruity Pebbles in it. Nice place to poop too - clean restrooms and I was comfortable. The same song played over and over... about 10 times while we were there. So there’s that.
Best rolled-ice cream spot in Chinatown! From my experiences, they are much faster than other establishments. Plus, you can build your own instead of just ordering from the menu. Even when its busy, they work fast to get all the orders out.
This place is delicious! Seriously the best. The rolled ice cream just hits the spot! I ordered the Dark Cloud. It had Oreo, coconut, condensed milk, and chocolate chips. It was not too sweet; the sweetness was actually pretty mellow. The restaurant is slightly tiny& packed! Theres a wait time for your rolled ice cream, but its worth the wait time. The can only make two orders at a time. You also get to view them makimg the ice cream. This is a cool place for both children and adults.
This place is simply amazing and underrated! The staff is talented and friendly and I’ve never been disappointed here. For quick visits DON’T go on the weekend because there will be crowds. If you don’t mind then have it, it’s definitely worth the trip!
Come early at best. Expect a line at peak hours. Well worth the wait. Will come back soon.Portion was creamy yet soild and flavorful.Sliced fruit was fresh and generous.Crepe cone was crispy and slightly sweet.
Colorful World is my absolute favorite!!! ice cream with cereal is the best combination, add pop rocks as a topping and its like theres dancing ice cream in your mouth. I love it and its a cozy and chill environment, all the employees are super nice and very accommodating. The crepes are super yummy too, the wait can sometimes be a drag but its definitely worth it. Rush hour gets super hectic so I definitely reccomend going before dinner time if you want some dessert and dont want to wait long.
Rolled ice cream is the latest fad that is to entire the dessert world, and if it’s going to stay, this place has my vote. I’ve been to legend tasty house for my first rolled ice cream and I thought meh. It was just ice cream in another form and for the price I pay I could buy a tub. I’m glad I gave it another try here. Perhaps it’s the formula base of their ice creams, but the flavors are so much better. It was also more fun because we went with a group and all our kids enjoyed the showmanship of the workers making it. And when they enjoy it, I enjoy it. We went on a Friday night and it was not chaotic nor take a ridiculous amount of time, even tho these things are time consuming to make
I got the Strawberry Shortcake and enjoyed it. My friend got the Cheesecake Delight Crepe and was a little disappointed, but I think thats because he didnt realize it was just plain vanilla ice cream. It wasnt anything special. Overall it was fun experience, glad we tried it out while we were in Chinatown!
Who said that ice cream is only for the summertime! An amazing quaint place to grab Thai Ice cream, crepes, shakes and smoothies. You can even watch them in the preparation of the Ice cream (its rolled).
Great ice cream, many interesting flavors available.
Walked in and had a weird experience; it was empty and no one was behind the counter - it smelled like stale old milk.Walked right out and went across to Legend.
I love watching them mix and took the ice cream, the flavors are inviting in the presentation is everything
This was one of the coolest places. I would recommend getting... colorful world? I think thats what its called. It has fruity pebbles ♡
Great customer service. Great atmosphere. Most importantly, great ice cream. Definitely my favorite rolled ice cream shop!
Staff is VERY unfriendly. I wont return because I dont feel they value my business. Wonder what happened to the large crowds they had two years ago. Hmmm, good customer service is extremely important. My friend thinks its a cultural thing. Sorry but in America friendly polite service is expected. Yes, the ice cream is good but if that craving hits me I think I will go to oberweis instead.
Delicious creeps ice cream
It was a magical place to come. when I ate the colorful world my taste buds screamed with joy. I would now like to spread the word about this spectacular place. I hope everyone enjoys the place as much as I did.
Girl with thrasher sweatshirt, made wrong thing and was very rude and upset with us for asking to correct it. Very very rude. And sarcastic.
It takes a bit for them to prepare the rolled ice cream, particularly if the place is busy. However, it is worth it. I had The Hulk (Matcha with strawberries) and my wife Green Garden (Avocado, Bananas and blueberries), both which were rich in flavors and as always, have an amazing presentation.
Cool way to keep the night going. Watch them create your unique treat and let the music put some energy into your crowd.Dont be fooled be the imposters accross the street.
My crape was nothing like the picture! Didn’t even have the yogurt in it and they said that’s how it’s suppose to be with two blueberries in my crape.
Polite staff. Ice cream is ok. Try it for yourself. Its a unique experience
Im obsessed with the strawberry shortcake. They use REAL cheesecake, strawberries & cream. I top mine with whipped cream, graham cracker, fruit cereal & a fortune cookie. Theres also classic board games in the back. This is my new fav place to come w/ friends!
After discovering Ice Max last week, I can honestly say Ive been back almost every other day. Its definitely worth the long wait, esp during long lines usually later in the day. I highly recommend trying the bumble bee thai ice cream! I would give 5 stars, but since the second visit, they have messed up my order consistently by placing the wrong toppings. Other than that, its great and worth a try!
Ice cream are very great. Long wait but its worth it. Plus its fun watching them prepare ur order right in front of you.
This is my first time coming here and theres something satisfying about having your ice cream rolled. The bumble bee is really good and the process of how they make it is cool to watch.
The rolled ice cream is decent, I think legend tasty house is better personally. what irks me is the spotty service. even on weekends you can usually get your order within 15 minutes, but on a Tuesday I have walked in and been ignored by two employees who were too busy to take my order for about 10 minutes. irritating.
Good taste but a 15 minutes wait for a single creppe ?
Beware!! I was over charged $50 on my credit card bill. I guess cashier thought he deserved a $50 tip on one tiny ice cream that is literally half full and looks like a joke compared with the sample in the window.
I have had their First Love Thai ice cream more than once, and it is delicious every time!
Great Thai Ice Cream, long line, but moved quickly.. Loved my hulk with strawberry and banana! Those workers deserve a raise... they work hard!
The first time I went to ice max I knew it would be a place where I would go again its a clean place they have great dessert roll ice cream is delicious the crepes are the best that Ive tasted Ive been going for three months almost every day so pop right in and get your ice max😍
Awesome place! I will agree with allot of people, when they say it does take a long time, due to having a total of three stations; however the presentation was well worth it! They have crepes, which is why my husband wanted to try this place over legend tasty house (which they have more stations). This place has different options and I felt each item ordered was crfated to perfection. Deff worth checking out!
I never knew I could one can eat ice cream like rolls... Simply amazing... One of the best places to have ice cream in Chicago
