Work done was fine. Timing was bad. We were told it would take about 2 hours; it actually took 4 hours. We had to find the service man after 2.5 hours to ask for an update. We believe that the work time should have been monitored and an update provided without us searching for the service man.

After having my car towed in, the first thing the service advisor asked to replace was the rear hatch back wiper… Ok, No problem! (See photo).The clutch inspection cover is missing. My ABS sensor wires were cut, the axle that was replaced here is loose! I have things missing from inside my car (stolen leatherman multitool)! If you want to be treated like garbage there are numerous places to choose from here in Chicago that will charge 100’s of dollars less.

Bought a new car from there about four months ago, the sales person was great while we were there. However, I wrote numerous emails to him and the other person that we spoke with that day more questions about our warranty and all. Never heard back from no one.Also I called to schedule an oil change which Octavio had said would be free the first time. However, the sales person had no idea and couldn’t communicate me to get help for this.

Sales team was nice and comforting, however, they insisted in running my credit before the car is ready and fixed (was new car with cracked windshield that we agreed to wait for fixing with a promises that will take them few days to have car ready to pick up). Price - they didnt want to tell us final numbers before its ready as well... so why did they run the credit before they have inventory ready and prices finalized ?! When I called week later to get updates I heard soon or let me check with no follow up... well 20 days later - no call, no update, no car (didnt realize that changing windshield takes that long!).... and only hard inquiry on my Credit Report! Would not recommend this dealership!

They don’t even deserve 1 star!! Worse place ever! I toke my brand new 2020 for a simple oil change and they gave me back a car with every single warning light on! Kept my car for 2 1/2 weeks to figure out what β€œI did” ignored all my calls and said β€œit was stuck by lightning” I toke it to another Honda Dealership and was fixed in 2 days! Turns out they broke my sensors while doing the oil change and didn’t want to take responsibility!! Worse experience ever!!

I went for a product recall from Honda. I was told to pay $157 dollars to find out if my airbag would actually work. It is all about money here. I would not buy another car here in the future. I love Honda’s but not this dealership.

Went to McGrath Hyundai next door and was literally stared at for 10 minutes while the sales people were huddled in the corner, left and went next door to Honda and was greeted with Ricardo and he’s bilingual! This is a 2021 Honda Odyssey that I bought new from this dealership, that is now having major mechanical issues, and they cant even look at it for a month? Great service Honda.

The people at McGrath Honda did a wonderful job repairing the grill and bumper of the used car I purchased from them. Most places would not do this, used cars sold as is. But when I mentioned that the grill was not seated in the space, they said right away that they would fix it. Fix it they did, at no charge, even though they had to install a new grill and bumper. That is going above and beyond for a customer.

Bill was extremely helpful, didn’t try any unnecessary upselling, and told me they were busy and gave me the exact correct time I would be waiting.Service was thorough, and Bill explained all of the checkup to me.Plus a very clean spacious waiting area.

Salesperson was very nice, but be careful of fees and warranties being slid in the offer. They tried to add and $800 government fee but could not explain what it was for. They also tried to charge a $1200 delivery fee on a used car I was buying off their lot. They would not remove the charge until I was going to leave without the car. The finance guy tried to slide in an extended warranty at the last minute too. Be careful.

I recently traded in my Durango for a CR-V at MGrath Honda with Jim. The only reason I decided to trade in was because of gas but I had the best Honda sales person I have ever came across...jimmy bushell. Jimmy is extremely professional, has respect for your time, & is very accommodating. Nobody greets you when you come in. There is no place to stand while you wait without being in somebody else’s way. They force you to walk through a work area where people wear steel toed shoes to pick up your car. It feels unsafe. Overall experience: loud, unsafe, inattentive, poorly organized department. I tried to find someone to help me and was basically told by a hapless salesperson β€œI don’t work here, it’s not my job to help you find someone who can help you.” So, in essence, just like every other dealership service department?

3 HOURS FOR A SIMPLE OIL CHANGE.I can’t believe I’ve waited this long, considering I had an appointment. I am incredibly shocked how long this common service has taken. I am now late for work and yet no compensation nor clear reason for this long of a wait. I prefer driving to another dealer instead of coming back. Went in for an oil change but long story short it took 2 hours and 15 minutes and my appointment was even scheduled (2 days in advance)The tech did good work as far as it seems. The car is new so I wasnt expecting them to find anything in the multi-point inspection and they didnt. As far as the oil change goes, it was at least done so kudos to the tech.The person who helped me out was just doing his job but hes definitely the kind of service where they say its almost done to make you feel better but it wasnt really almost doneThere was one other employee who helped me out. It took the staff 20 minutes to check me in for my scheduled appointment but this guy at least checked up on me and apologized for the wait and explained theyre short staffedOverall an unsatisfactory visit simply because of how long it took for a routine task that was scheduled in advance. The facility needs to either schedule less appointments (because the sheer volume of cars was enough to stress the staff out), schedule them further out to let the employees know what their workload for the day will look like so they can schedule help appropriately, or hire more help. Rarely, its the employees fault, and its usually the company thats pushing them too hardEdit: went back for a differential fluid change and got excellent service. This time it was on a Monday and the service was relatively quick, the car got a wash this time, and a multi point inspection was done (like the first). Only talked to one employee (Alex) and he did an excellent job. Bumped up to 3 stars because of capacity to do great service but Saturdays still seem like an awful day to go

If I could give this place a 0 I would I bought a used car here with a warranty and right off the lot it needed work on a rear dif took it back and wanted me to pay a fee for diagnostic and after looking at it found the problem which was covered under warranty and wanted me to shell out another hundred bucks just to start the work on it had it in the shop 2 days longer than they said it be ready and the replacement parts were used and they gave me no receipt. They sold me the vehicle knowing it needed to be fixed per the manager. Just had an oil change done today and found the rear dif they replaced there was a crack in the boot of the rear axel another problem right next to it they didnt even touch. Never doing business here again if you have lots of money you feel like throwing away then come here if not find a better dealer preferably away from Chicago. someone call the better business bureau

Purchasing process took way too long. Buying a car at this time was a necessity for us, but now is not a good time to buy. Make sure you do your due diligence and are aware of dealership practices that do not work in your favor. Especially when it comes to credit checks and financing tricks. Remember they will say ANYTHING to sell you a car. The sales person who helped us was short tempered and wasn’t all that informed on the McGraths dealer warranties, making the whole experience feel uneasy.

I made a simple inquiry requesting pictures of a vehicle listed for sale. I did receive a response with what appeared to be stock photos of the interior of the vehicle. When I asked for actual pictures of the interior and exterior, they never provided them and never made contact with me again. Every other dealer I have inquired with was overwhelming helpful in providing whatever information they had and if the vehicle had been sold, they would offer assistance in another vehicle. I would have been traveling to view the vehicle and it was important to have a general feel for what the vehicle was. It was not important to this dealer apparently, be cautious.

UNETHICAL-Would Not RecommendDid an extended test drive of a used vehicle and started to sign the papers to purchase it. I noticed an additional fee that was added but never discussed during the process. I refused to pay that fee and the sales rep accommodated my request. Shortly thereafter, I found out that there were other customers in the showroom trying to buy that car and that they were willing to pay that additional fee. They were then offered and bought the car. In speaking with the manager, he basically said it was business. Maybe, but I dont work that way.Giving it one star because our sales rep tried to fight for us.

Car dealer part is ok but the service/oil change part is the worst I ever experienced. With my leased car I got a plan for two oil changes per year. It was included in my monthly lease payments so had to pay for it and I couldnt change it. Twice a year I would call to make an appointment. Im glad that my lease expired and I will never come back there again.

UPDATED REVIEWI went in for my semi annual service and was helped by a very nice service rep named Jasmine. Long story short, the technicians found a few additional problems that did not make a whole lot of sense and the price quoted to fix those problems was inexplicably high. I felt like they weren’t being honest. When they sent the survey asking if I had a good experience I replied with β€œNO.” Within a few hours I got a call from the service manager Jeremy who asked what the issue was. After I told him, he agreed that it didn’t sound right and wasn’t consistent with how things should be run under his management. He told me to bring my car in at my earliest convenience and he’d personally take care of those problems free of charge. I made an appointment, brought my car in, and he had me out of there in under an hour. I wouldn’t have minded paying a fair price for those parts, but I feel they went way above and beyond to address my problem.

Experience was Ok.Con: I pull up and I see a couple salesmen standing outside by the entrance. That right away was a turn off. I want to be able to walk in without being jumped on. I almost didnt bother going in. Despite walking and talking way to fast for me, The salesman who greeted me was otherwise a very nice person. I like to take things slow.I came in the next day to purchase the vehicle. I was in a bad mood because I learned later that no haggle price doesnt mean the dealer wont budge at all in some cases. I own that part I should have researched better, but in my mind Im thinking, OK, haggling is allowed on other cars but not these. I made mention of this to the salesmen but he kept silent and went on to other things. What he could have done on his part is say, So what do you think of the price? in a sense to let me know you could haggle. Oh well, should have researched better.The finance manager talked a mile a minute. The salesman and I agreed on not having the Theft protection plan or whatever. The finance manager was racing through what I needed to sign on the ipad and thankfully I was noticed it and asked. He went to confirm with the salesman and came back a few minutes later with a short, Sorry for the miscommunication and right back to the computer. Not personable at all. He was too salesy with the other options and speaking as almost as they were required... not specifically of course but his presentation could have been better.I did the financing through there. I was never told the percent until I myself asked.Pro: The salesman came in on his day off for me to sign the papers rather than waiting through the weekend when we could meet again.Mind you, I may be different than some customers... I like slow, I like taking my time to consider but they were way to rushed in everything.Guys, slow it down, dont sell, just present things and dont hide things like no haggle price isnt final.

Saw a listing for a 2014 Honda Accord Coupe with a v6 engine on CarGurus. The car was going for $18,500 which is already $1,000+ above average. I took the bait and called and requested pictures of the interior and a link to the CarFax since the listing on CarGurus didn’t have either. After the phone call I did receive the link to the CarFax but no interior pictures. The next day I called to say I would be on my way to see the car, however they told me it wasn’t available since the car was being detailed and would call me when they get the car back from the detailer. Later that same day a guy named Dave called and told me they got the car back from the detailer. However he told me he couldn’t take pictures of the interior tonight since he didn’t have the keys. It seemed suspicious that they would have the car but not the keys but I let it go. I told him I would come tomorrow to see it and he said he would send me pictures early in the morning. I called again in the morning to double check the car was there & available, a lady named Maggie told me it was. I told her I still hadn’t received the pictures and she said she would remind Dave to send them, he never did. I drove over an hour through traffic and was running late so I called 15 minutes before my arrival to let them know I was running late, they said it was no problem. When I got there I met up with Dave. As we walked to the lot he told me the car actually isn’t there but β€œthey have it’s twin.” He asked if I wanted to check it out so I did. It was a Honda Accord Coupe of a similar year, but was only loaded with an I4 engine instead of the v6 which is specifically what I was looking for. He also implied that the car was an EXL model but it was really an LXS, I could tell from looking at it. I told Dave he wasted an hour of my time (2 hours really considering the drive back) and not to call me back again. He apologized and said they mixed up the cars and thought they received both back from the detailer, not just the one with an I4 engine. However, I call BS on this. They all knew they didn’t have that car all along, thats why Dave never sent me pictures of the interior. He would have realized they didn’t have the v6 model early in the morning when Maggie reminded him to take pictures if he really thought he had the car. To waste 2 hours of my time just to try to lure me into a sale for something I don’t want is another level of low for car dealerships. If they call me back I’ll tell them I’ll buy the car for 5k out the door if they reimburse me for the gas money I had to spend to get out there.

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR & STAY AWAY!!!Purchased a defective (not knowing at the time) 2015 Accord & paid for the additional warranty. (Paid a good penny for it) The car would stall while driving in motion in random places such as highways and busy intersections. Service has to be done ONLY AT THE MCGRATH HONDA, they only have 2 locations so if you don’t live nearby; you are out of luck!!! I have made multiple trips (quick fixes did Pan out) to the shop and currently on week 3? Without my car. The mechanics are nice but spread pretty thin, definitely understaffed. When the Service Manager Joe got involved, I was overpromise and underdelivered. Keep your sanity and stay away! BUT if you want to feel your blood boil and your blood pressure go on a rise, then you’re headed in the right direction!

Paul was great in cutting to a bottom line, giving me a good (comparative) deal, and explaining all that was included and how it was calculated.. Then Rich made it all happen that same day -- staying late, walking me through the cumbersome process of getting insurance that would be immediately active (NB -- The Hartford insisted on starting the following day, which was not helpful). It was a thoroughly pleasant experience from beginning to end -- and I love my new CRV.

This place is the most unorganized dealership ever. They posted a vehicle online and I called in to check. They made an appointment with me and even called me a day before my appointment to confirm ahead. After driving 2 hours to this location, St Charles, IL. Could you believe they told me the car is not available. I was told the car was out for detailing or so. I wasted my day with them and they don’t even show any remorse at all. I was told they will call me the next day when they have the car. Fast forward 2 weeks after, nothing from them. Never would I recommend this place. Don’t waste your time people.

Ive had positive experiences before, this time was a nightmare. They told me a tire rotation, balance, and oil change would take two hours. It took 4.5 hours. They never called me to update me on the time. The manager thinks the problem is uber. The problem is it doesnt seem they understand how appointments work. They said, there are a couple people ahead of you. and we were very busy. If I have an appointment there shouldnt be more people ahead of me. I had an appointment. When I picked up my car they parked it and left the lights on. They didnt care or apologize that my car might not have started if they killed my battery. If you go I would wait and not leave so they might prioritize you. I scheduled my appointment at 9 am. The first appointment of the day. If you have anything else scheduled for the rest of the day you will not make it.Another down side: the rude person who took my car and checked me in knew nothing about cars. It would have been nice to have a car person look at my tires and recommend tire rotation or not. I had to rely on Google.In the past the people that took my car had been intelligent, kind, and knowledgeable car people (rather than new sales people trainees who dont know about cars) which is why I gave a 5 star review last time.Theres more, but this would be a book.

We were looking to upgrade from a sedan to a CR-V to accomodate our puppies, and McGrath was extremely responsive to our requests and got us a great price. Junior was able to answer all of our questions, and went out of his way to try to find the color we were looking for.

Yesterday, I purchased a 2021 Honda CRV EX, and my experience this topped the experience I had 4 years ago when I purchased my 2017 Accord. My salesperson was Jimmy, and I told him I did not want to be there all day and I did not want to play games. I knew my credit was excellent and I knew they wanted my trade in, so I was looking for the best deal possible. Thanks to Jimmy B. and Melvin S. I walked out of there getting exactly what I wanted, with extra credits and perks. I will definitely continue doing business with McGrath Honda, and will tell my friends.

I went in for a Oil change, tire rotation and to change a small panel by a window that I was told would take 10 minutes in July when It should have been done but they ordered the wrong piece. I waited 2 hours and then asked my Service Advisor how much longer it would be and was told they had not started working on my car. I could not believe that I was there all that time and no one realized my car had not been touched. The manager was going to give me a loaner but I did not want to put a deposit on my credit card so no loaner for me. No oil change, no tire rotation, no repair to the panel which I paid for in July. I go to the dealer because I purchased my car there but I guess thats it. Maybe when I retire and have nothing to do but wait and hope they are working on my car Ill go back.I gave one star for the wifi.

Dont bother making appointments because its a free for all at this location. The logistics of the driveway does not allow the service advisor to service appointments first. My service advisor, Lucy, was unpleasant from the beginning. She seem to be unhappy with her job. I waited top long for an oil change, Lucy attitude increased when I didnt purchase extra recommended services. When they FINALLY, completed the oil change, I was blocked in. Lucy instructed me to back up into traffic on Grand on a busy Saturday afternoon. I was very irritated by my entre experience so I waited to speak to the manager. This must have been his first day because he had zero de-escalation skills, he had an excuse for everything. He was nervous and his eyes were shifty, he couldnt look me in my eyes. Whos hiring and training these folks?

Tried to schedule an appointment for a recall on a 2019 Honda HRV for a software that may cause a pressure problem with the CVT. I Was told no availability for over a month but should be taken care of right away. I went to Honda valley today and they did my recall (updated PCM software) and took only 1 1/2. No appointment needed. I will start going there for all my future needs for my Honda HRV.

Went in for a routine oil/filter change today, and I got excellent service as usual! Konstantinos did a great job of getting my car set up and ready to get worked on. He also let me know what service I should keep in mind for the near future. On top of all of that, my car was done sooner than expected. For a busy Saturday morning as it was, that’s quite an accomplishment. Kudos to the whole team there!

I started out with a very bad bump with this dealership. Unfortunately my salesman was out that day, and I got stuck with his co-worker as his substitute. I have been coming here for a very long time and bought at least four cars since 2007. And Im starting a clean new fresh slate. I have to admit Ryszard, and Marcin are outstanding, and they both go over and beyond on their superior Customer Service.

I have bought two cars from this location and since then I will no longer buy a vehicle from here or have my car serviced here. A previous time they did not bother to let me know that the vehicle’s splash guard was damaged and put it back damaged. Today I had an appointment I made in advance for codes B2,1,5 which was oil change, tire rotation, air filter change, and coolant flush. When I arrived there one of the associates tried to charge for code 7 which is a brake fluid change. I had to show the associate that i already had it done recently. Then the associate had told me that vehicle would have stay until Monday. I made an appointment @1 and they would not be able to work on my vehicle on Saturday. I asked the manager if I can have a courtesy car and they said that they don’t give courtesy cars for maintenance this small. From now on I will have my car serviced somewhere different!

I made an appointment few days ago for today at 11:30. Regular oil change. I was there at 11:25 . Line were full of people. Around 11:40 manager came and said: Thank you for your patience your line is gonna move in a minute. Almost an hour later I was two cars closer. Guy with tablet came. I asked him how long is it gonna take? He said it will be done around 2:30. I was like what? I had an appointment at 11:30. Oil change is what 30 min job so I should leave around noon. Instead of that I left at 12:30 without oil change. I dont have a saturday to spend at dealership. Im very disappointed about costumer care at that location. Went to another location. They were done in 45 min without appointment.

If you are a woman looking to shop for a car, I suggest staying away from this W. Grand Ave dealership. Although, my guess is everyone would be treated this way. They are dishonest in their quotes; un-knowledgeable about their products. Still waiting for the GM, J. Serritella, to call and rectify the situation. It has been nearly 3 weeks. Very disappointed!

Update on this:Looking back, the process seemed better than it was in actuality. At the time I wrote this review, I didnt have the awareness but the process was much sketchier than I realized. During our test drive we were told that we dont normally let buyers drive on the highway as well as that since the car didnt have a lot of gas we couldnt go for a long drive. McGrath also pushed back on certifying this vehicle because they said doing so would drive up the price. These should have been huge red flags.Ill keep it short but I recommend being very careful about purchasing here. Only buy a certified used car and if you do: avoid the service maintenance plan. They may seem great at first but they wont treat you as well after you have purchased the vehicle, and this is not a good place to bring your car for service. Ive wasted so much time on this place. I will never take my car back for service and I will never buy a car from them again.Original review:My wife and I bought a car from Junior Rivera here and are very happy w/ our experience. Everything was above board. No hidden fees, nothing sketchy. Junior knows all his stuff and was on-point in setting everything up for us. Couldnt recommend him more.The finance dept was also able to get us decent financing (better than we had secured on our own). Everyone was super respectful, efficient, and there was no wasting time. As long as we are driving hondas, Im sure well be back.
