This has nothing to do w what they sell there or anything but it should be known that I lost my drivers license last week around the area and they found it in front of their shop. Open Saturday mornings! Ive never seen another welding supply open on Saturdays. Besides being an industrial supplier, this is the perfect store for a hobby welder who works during the bank hours of most other welding supply stores. Readily have any accessories available that you would need.

After calling to confirm I could exchange an argon tank and telling the person on the phone I did not have an account, I was given the go ahead to come and make the exchange. After driving an hour to make the exchange, I spoke with 3 gentleman and they instructed me to go across the street to make the exchange never once did they ask me if the color of the tank was different than theirs( the color is the only legally different aspect from one distributor to the next). When I was across the street I was told I couldn’t exchange the tank without permission from the 3 people I initially spoke with and they denied the exchange because it wasn’t from their shop. Had I know this from the get go I wouldn’t have wasted my time. Wisco Being the only place open I Saturday I had no choice but to go there. Had they done their due diligence and confirmed the origin on the tank this waste of time and money could have been avoided.

This is unrelated to the shop, but i m looking for a place to repair/ weld my balcony fence (made of aluminum). Can anyone please point me to a shop around Lakeview, Chicago area where I can bring my fence for to be welded?

Plan on spending at least 30 minutes here regardless of what you plan to purchase. Ive been here for over 2 hours before. Other than that, they have good prices and friendly knowledgeable staff.

I dont know nothing about the product side of this business outside of they provide the gas for tap beer systems but I grew up down the street from this place. Its been there for like 40 years, right? I rarely think about this place but when I do I always wonder if storing the gas is a dangerous thing, is it? Nothings happened that Im aware of so they keep things safe there, but is it a volatile thing?

Extremely knowledgeable, has most welding products with easy access to getting anything that they do not have in stock with great prices on all (especially Miller) products.
