I always look forward to my visits here; not just because I love the crystals but because the staff has always been so welcoming and thoughtful. Sadly I learned some of my favorite staff members no longer work here because of so much change that occurred during the pandemic; but I truly love the atmosphere and the beautiful crystals for purchase. I once had a wonderful psychic reading and reiki session that brought me to tears and her name was Iman. I truly miss her presence and I miss the former managers that worked here too like Nina. Regardless the store is spotless and despite all the changes and turnover of new people I still love the positive vibes and the healers who work here. I just visited this labor day weekend and only had cash on me and wanted to treat myself to 3 tektites. The new store policy has changed and now only cc cards are accepted as payment so please make a note of that new rule. A very kind woman by the name of Stacey was staying at their boutique hotel and she overheard that I was unable to use my cc card so she graciously put the 3 tiny tektite stone meteorites on her total bill and literally treated me and gifted me with the purchase I was unable to make. This is just an example of the types of customers this wonderful boutique and spa attracts. Im so grateful 🙏 and appreciative of the wonderful help Ive received over the years and I wish the Ruby Room much success in the years to come.Its always such a delight to be surrounded by such beauty and genuinely kind staff and enlightened customers.

This sort of shop reminds me of what Wicker Park used to be before it blew up in popularity. Cute little boutique shop for the zen-minded shopper. I picked up an incense holder here and could see myself going back for sage, smudge and other things to rid the evil spirits of 2020 😜

Cannot recommend this gem enough! I stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. Wicker Park is a really fun spot! This is not for someone looking for a stuffy typical hotel stay though. There are quirks but the quirks make it charming. The beds are the MOST comfortable Ive ever slept on! The rooms are quiet. There are a lot of really cool little pubs, restaurants, and gyms near by. I had an excellent stay and will be back! I had a massage with Logan before I left and it was super relaxing, would highly recommend him as well! Also, the entire staff is super friendly. Cant say enough good things. If I could make a recommendation the only thing would be to add body lotion to the room. There was great shampoo, conditioner and body was products but I forgot to bring body lotion and couldnt find any. Thanks again Ruby Room!

Ruby Room is an awesome place for spa treatments and the store is perfect for crystals, candles, cards, etc. I see Logan for massage and hes fantastic. Always finds the spots that need work. The whole day spa has a healing and therapeutic vibe that is hard to resist. I had a facial a while back that was great as well. Everyone who works here is super kind and helpful and prices are reasonable. Ill be back soon!

We booked a room here for a stay in early July. Due to COVID restrictions and plane cancelations we had to cancel our reservation. A month later and the hotel still hasnt issued a refund and will not return our phone calls. Every time we call were told the exact same thing; The management isnt in and they will have to call you back. There are plenty of good hotels in this great city. Unfortunately, this isnt one of them.Update: Moments after leaving a review on Yelp the owner of the hotel messaged back saying We have issued over one hundred refunds as a result of covid-19. He also asked that we (the reservation was in my husbands name) contact him and left his information. Funny how a month goes by and no messages are returned but as soon as you leave a review... We canceled our reservation through the booking company on June 17th (weeks in advance) yet the owner says there is no record of it. Okay, maybe a glitch in the system? We understand things happen, however, both the booking company and my husband have left multiple messages at the hotel and the owner says there is no record of those either. Clearly he does not have the right systems in place to run a successful hotel. Its also possible hes not being entirely honest but thats just speculation. He did start the conversation by saying I dont have your money. The booking company has your money. A statement that was proven to be false. The booking company confirmed they paid the owner (as business is done) and it is now the owners responsibility to refund our money as they no longer have it. The booking company also confirm calling the hotel on our behalf and leaving messages. Messages that were never returned. In the end he refused to give us a full, or even a two night refund. We booked for three. He did offer us a one night refund but ONLY if we promptly took the reviews down. We decided that rather than give in to a bully, it was worth that one nights fee to let people know how this hotel owner chooses to operate. The Ruby Room Inn books profits, not guests.

The location was perfect. I guess they were doing some renovation so it was hard to find the place, there was no sign outside. We stayed in a room on the fourth floor so that was kinda irritating climbing the steps everyday. It was very chilly in the room even with the heat on but they do provide a space heater. I didn’t like the community kitchen but overall it was a great stay. We had a great view and the showers are steamed. I’d book again.

This place is so cute. My husband and I went today and purchased some detox items and some other stuff 😉. The service was so nice and it smells amazing. They also have some good books for purchase.

Great neighborhood and nice spa. Room was clean and nice and there is a small kitchen on same floor. You do need to carry luggage up. A good alternative to big city hotel. Friendly staff.

The colonic staff here are amazing and I’ve been really happy with those services. However I would not recommend purchasing time in the infrared bed because it is in a large room with just a curtain around it. You can hear everything word for word that is being said in the rest of the room as well as people walking by. It’s not relaxing at all. Last time I went I actually witnessed an entire tarot card reading session which was quite awkward.

I went for a massage pamper package they had offered on Groupon. I had Logan take care of me. The package was VERY relaxing. It included a hand and foot scrub with the massage. It was a lovely experience I would recommend to anyone. All the products are food grade I was informed so that cool. My hands are hella soft the next day.

Have always had great experiences at RR. Katie has been doing cut and color for me for a few months and has been absolutely wonderful. Professional and courteous. I love the shop, has so much cool stuff.

Absolutely love this place. I live nearby and it is my regular go to for my skincare line (Arcona), as well as for gifts all year round. The staff/owners/everyone involved in this place are just wonderful - very friendly. It is a true gem and my favorite boutique/spa.I wish I had MORE time for massages as I have the best massages Ive ever had with Logan (just havent had time to do this regularly). Seriously, he combines the know how of a sports/medicine type massage to help with problem areas from running, etc. etc. - and combines it with the soothing lovely spa massage experience. Really great. Cant say enough about this place.

Today we were charged with unauthorized charges. Beware....this facility uses a reminder system that allows you to cancel your appt. I did along with others that have cancelled the same way. Guess what? They just charged me $150 for no massage! Over drafted my account. Buyer beware

It was a very good Inn.It is really beautiful. The problem is: There is no public parking. I asked some people around and one person said that at night, police come over and take away cars. So you will be very lucky if your car is there when you leave.

This place is an absolute Gem. Just finished my third treatment here, and have referred my sister and a few girlfriends. Everyone who has had the pleasure of having a service here has absolutely loved it. If you are receiving a facial try the Arcona or Arcona Deluxe. I’ve had the pleasure of having Brittney for two treatments and Allie for another one. Both aestheticians are very friendly, knowledgeable and really customize the treatment to your needs are. Love the treatment cards that you get to choose and the very beginning.They also do Aura readings and the wholes store is filled with uplifting crystals and spiritual trinkets and guides. Obsessed with this place, the people and the services. Will definitely be coming back for additional treatments.

I stayed at the Ruby Rooms back in what must be 2007. Its a wonderful location for those not wanting the hustle of downtown Chicago but not wanting to be too far away. Im actually here writing a review because my sister-in-law was looking for a place to stay in Chicago with her boyfriend and is interested in something different.Not being able to remember much but the way from the CTA Metro stop (and not knowing which one), my search used Google Maps and some recollection of features in the area. Street View nailed it and Im happy to report on my stay nearly six years later.Its a hands-off room-only deal in effect. If youre able to live on your own, youll be fine. Communicate your arrival time and theyll look after you. There are pubs and bars galore in the area - Ive found all the places we visited much to my wifes astonishment (memory of a goldfish, that woman!).A brilliant location for good quality accommodation where you come and go as you please.

They double booked my appointment with Theresa but did not realize until 30 minutes before and I was already a block away when I got the call. I was going to reschedule until they offered me a complimentary deep conditioning treatment, which means they use regular condition and just let it sit in your hair a few minutes... exactly what normal people do when they use conditioner every damn day. I dont appreciate them acting like they are making a sacrifice by giving me a free treatment that is absolutely no skin off their bones after wasting my time.

The location is perfect - right in the heart of Wicker Park! Based on suggestions from reviews I had read, I booked room 4D for my husband and I. We couldnt have been more pleased. The room was quiet and very clean, and the decor was nicely done (loved the bathroom!). We had access to a balcony that not only overlooked the Ruby Rooms garden/patio, but also had a great view of the city skyline. Whats not to love about all of that!Ive read reviews saying that noise is an issue, but if you stay in room 4D, you are not only on the top floor, but you are at the back of the building, so you hear minimal noise from outdoors, as well as minimal noise from other hotel guests.We will definitely stay here again when we visit Chicago! Amazing store and great place for a colonic

Comfortable, cozy, quiet, and very clean! Located in a wonderful neighborhood with many restaurants and bars nearby. I stay here every time Im in Chicago! Plus, they have great showers, and the beds are large and super comfy!

Took me forever to find a great massage in Chicago. Ive found many ok places, but my search stopped once I found Ruby Room.I started with facials by Nesha (misspelled). She was great. She makes sure the treatment is unique to your needs. She also gives one of the best face massages. You certainly get your moneys worth.I recently started getting massages from Logan. I was prepared to be under whelmed. I was way off. Logan was great. Strong hands. Great technique. You can tell he puts a lot of energy into the massage. Great energy and I leave feeling truly refreshed.I can now quit shopping around to find the right facial and massage people.

Great hidden gem in a really cool area. Geeat restaurants and shops around. Its nice to get away from the busy streets and relax in the salon or spa or just check out the crystal bar!

My flight arrived around 10am. I arrived at Ruby Rooms around 11am. The young gentleman at the front desk was able to arrange early checkin for me. I was thrilled I wouldnt have to wait until 3pm. The front desk gentleman even carried my luggage up the stairs since I have a bad knee. That is the one and only downside...no elevator. I was one the 4th floor which is the top floor. The room was spacious, cozy and inviting. There was no TV but that wasnt a big deal. The shower was big enough for 2 and didnt run out of hot water. There was a foot massager in my room which was amazing after a long day. The bed and bedding are AMAZING! Best bedding Ive experienced in a hotel. I would definitely recommend Ruby Rooms. If you have a handicap just be prepared for the stairs. The Ruby Rooms staff are friendly & took great care of me. Thank you Ruby Rooms!

Air B and B service at Hotel price. They do not make-up the room. Front desk open maybe 11AM to 5PM, Tuesday to Saturday. Super inconvenient if you arrive at any other time. Building noise at night. The remodeled room is photogenically attractive. No security at night.

Beautiful rooms. Great location. Shower had really low water pressure. No TV in the bedroom but sometimes thats a good thing. :)

My husband and I recently went to Rubys Room Salon and had THE BEST experience!! I never write reviews (no matter how good or bad the service is because it aint my thang) but the service was SO GOOD that I needed to post.My husband has curly hair and likes to leave it some what long and after countless new salon attempts, nothing was working out and it was one bad hair cut after another. Until he saw Theresa. She is the best! Likewise, I saw Theresa for the second time on Friday and she convinced me to get the dream bangs I have always wanted but NEVER received (I repeat, I want 70s cool NOT 50s cheeky). Anyway, they turned out so freaking good. This was the first time that I got a more than a trim and fell n love with the cut. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

The room was huge and had a great shower and comfortable bed. Good WiFi, no TV (as advertised). Clean, airy, even supplies bathrobes. Fourth floor walkup.For business travel, the main problem with it is that there is no desk to work at. No convenient electrical outlet near bed for recharging phone (theres one above the bed, but youd hit it with the pillow....This is not a conventional hotel. Outside the working hours of the spa (10am-7pm I think), there is no reception desk or other service. I arrived late, and the keys were in a mailbox. I received a key code by email, so there was some security.A block from the Division station on the Blue Line.

Lots of stairs. No housekeeping service, but mm ice room in a nice location. I will stay here again.

The Ruby Room actually has rooms for rent. The room I stayed in was very nice. The steam shower is awesome.

The aesthetic of Ruby Room is all it has going for it. The culture of snobbish xenophobia trickles down from the top - ownership clearly only wishes to cater to thin, rich, white people.

No service what so ever. If youre looking for a $160 rate with no service what so ever, this is your go to place. I paid $160 usd per night and had no cleaning service during a 5 day stay. Apparently this is how they operate so be adviced. I dont remember seeing this info in the description of my reservation though.

If you need a comfortable place to sleep without the need for TV, this place is great with good prices.

We have stayed several times at the Ruby Room in Chicago. It is not a 5 star hotel with all the amenities, but rather a small hotel in a diverse neighborhood filled with great restaurants and friendly people!

Its a beautiful place with knowledgeable staff. I was very pleasantly surprised.

A decade ago this place was so great. Now its fallen off the grid, manly because the owner is getting a bit cra cra. Im fine with gems, but an animal skull in my facial room....hell no. Before any service, I pick a card...like a tarot. Then they spray it while body with that sent. Mine spelled disgusting. Its lingering & friends aint happy. There are tarot cards all over the store. Tables through out the place with cards that I can pick up and ready...with gems on them. Its a spa, not a new age store. Little freaky

The Ruby Room specializes in waxing and facials. The beatiful Ukranian Village locale employs expert estheticians who use organic fruit enzymes to calm and treat the skin. An introductory tarot reading is a little hokey, but skin body and mind are all interconnected. Great for bridal gifts!

While I had only heard good things about their accomodations, my trip to Chicago got cancelled so I needed to cancel my room. Thats when I got 2 stories; 1 the Ruby Room requires TWO WEEKS OF NOTICE (written), 2) the Ruby Room requires ONE FULL WEEK OF NOTICE (verbal) in order to cancel a room. If you dont give them this extremely long amount of notice (which was impossible in my case, because I didnt even reserve the room 2 weeks before staying there) they keep ALL OF YOUR MONEY. Thats right, they dont charge a fee for the inconvenience of rescheduling, or offer to change your reservation to a future date, THEY KEEP ALL OF YOUR MONEY AND YOURE OUT OF LUCK. So, if youre absolutely, positively sure youll be at the Ruby Room on a particular night, you might want to give them a shot. For me, this policy needs to be changed. I understand that they want to be compensated for the inconvenience of last minute changes, but what is the incentive for an honest person to call and tell them that they cant make it, only to have the Ruby Room double book the room for the night? Until the rule is changed, I would recommend that you ABSOLUTEY, POSITIVELY DONT RESERVE A ROOM AT THE RUBY ROOM. If you want to say there, I would walk in and pay for it the night of the stay.

I had a groupon for services that I purchased however when I had my appt I experienced terrible customer service. After my 1st service I was told that someone had booked the room for my 2nd service on top of my existing appt and that I wait for few moments until that guest finished up. I overlooked this error on their part however I was left in the room for 45 mins and no one came back to check on me. I had to go to the front desk to let them know I had been waiting for my 2nd appt to begin. They apologized and gave me a complimentary 1 hour time slot for the following week. I just phoned today to confirm my appt and was told someone had removed me from the system! and wanted to know if I wanted to book another time! This is the 1st time I used this businesses services as a referral and they exhibited horrible customer service. The nerve of someone to 1st book another appt at same time as my 1st appt time slot and then make me wait and then to have someone deliberately remove me from the system for my 2nd appt with no reason or phone call from the company stating as to why, the nerve. I received no apologies today for being intentionally removed from the system as an appt. I guess they choose the worthiness of which customers get preferential treatment for appt times. I would not recommend this business at all.
