I’ve been wanting to write this review for awhile but just now I finally got the tools and parts to fix my window and I realized it was time for a review.In 2018 while I was broke in college, my air suspension was leaking and so I brought my bmw to them. I told them that both driver and passenger windows don’t work, so don’t roll the windows down. Well they rolled the driver window down and it got stuck. They ended up removing the driver door panel to bring the window back up and then they gave me a call. They said that since they had already taken the door panel off the might as well fix the window while they were at it. A $1.50 plastic clip was the reason the window was not functioning correctly. They still ended up charging full price for the repair when it was their mistake, it was around $500 for labor to do this repair. Immediately after I got the car back I could see this white glue through the window that they used to hold the door together. This was the first sign I saw or their botch job. The window repair lasted about 6 months before it broke again and air suspension is that they promised was oem bmw parts recently went bad again. They charged me just as much as bmw would have for the air suspension and supposedly even bought the parts straight fr bmw. I should have just gone there.I just took the door apart with no experience in 10 minutes and fixed the window. With the door taken apart I found how bad of a job the really did. The window clip fix had the wrong nut which is why the plastic broke so soon. There was a broken collar around the lock indicator, it’s gone now because it kept falling out. White glue holding the door seam together. The door handle light indicator was complete snapped off and even tucked away as if they tried to hide it. I had to glue it back. There were missing trim clips, mismatched trim clips, and missing clip seals to prevent vibration.I used to think highly of this Dr of motors, it was run by two brothers? Eventually one of them quit because of one of the brothers had terrible business ethics, overcharging, bad customer service, etc. I should have taken this as a sign when the good brother quit and not have taken my vehicle back.

We have an older vehicle (2010 Honda Accord) that we wanted to be sure was safe for our son to have as a first car. Robert was friendly, knowledgeable, and prompt. He kept us in the loop about what was needed and gave some advice we werent aware of regarding brakes. Pricing was reasonable and our bill was nicely detailed. Will definitely come back for all future auto needs, including oil changes.

They were very fast in getting me an appointment the day after I called…service quick and everyone was very friendly! The AC in my car stopped working. They charged $125 to look at it. Verbally told me it was an electrical issue and they needed another $250 for doing more tests. However on the document they provided it stated the compressor clutch needed to be replaced. With the $125 they did not even do a dye test. Lots of other places in town put in the dye for lesser price. They quoted me $2138.00 to get my AC fixed. Prices here are outrageous. Never going back here.

My go to place for getting car service. In this case, an invitation for an A/C check in early July encouraged me to have it checked out. It was kinda sorta cooling a bit in 100+ F temps, but after I authorized an A/C fix, Im getting undeniably cold air. Good for summer!

I would have to say they are extremely friendly,easy to talk to, they even gave me a loaner car because the replacement transmission came in damaged and we really needed a vehicle because we were in the middle of moving!!! I have been using them for a couple years now and Im pleased.... The only down side i would give them is they seem to be consistently off on the day things will be ready and parts pricing seems to be a bit higher than other shops... Not,give me your wallet higher,just a bit! That being said its an auto repair shop,blame trickles down and 1 in a hundred things can change what happens when trying to stay on schedule. Over all 2 thumbs up,would recommend you give them a try!

Explained to Robert at Doctor of Motors about a few issues my vehicle was explaining. I gave him a code my car was throwing on my Accessport on my ‘16 WRX along with a few things that was going on with my car and almost instantly he knew what was going on! I knew then, I would be leaving my car in great hands!! Robert promised to have the car done by the next day but instead gave me a call with great news! Car was done same day and it was done at no extra cost! I will definitely continue to recommend Doctor Of Motors. Thanks guys!!!

As other people have said, it is a family owned and operated business which is always good to support. The thing that makes Doctor or Motors stand out is their combination of speed and friendliness. Having to fix your car is always a hassle, so it was great to come into such a customer friendly place. I will continue going here with all my future car problems.

Went her to have a car I was selling inspected before the sale. I am a mechanic myself and I feel like they were very honest about their observations. Based on that visit if I were to need service that I didnt want to get into I would consider this place first. Nice people and fast service.

Great service, very nice people working there, got the job done as quickly as possible. They even washed my car for me. They worked well with my warranty and helped me pay only what was needed, even knocked off some of the labor costs because I had to have so much work done. They were amazing! Service was awesome. Found this repair shop online last March while looking for a smog check center and l was able to schedule an appointment on the very same day. The gentleman at the front desk (Jesse, I believe) was very friendly and personable. They got my car in and out by 45 minutes. Its safe to say Ill definitely be coming back for any other car needs. I got an oil and filter change which was much cheaper and faster than my other experiences. On top of that, they gave me a run down on things needed to be fixed on my car, free of charge. They gave an estimate for each of these services. I talked to Dave, he was very informative and a nice guy. Will definitely go there again

Great and courteous staff. Had some brake problems. They identified the problem, and identified future problems at the same time. Not only was the work outstanding, but they saved me money on top of the estimate they gave me. Its a top notch shop. One of the best experiences I have had with an auto repair shop. Doctor of motors great service very understanding I told Robert that Im driving down the street and the car would turn off it will take about half hour for the car to restart when Im stopped at a stoplight the car will stop running I have to push the car out of the intersection to the side of the road Robert looked at my car I cant pay a lot of money he kept the cost very low where I could afford it he fixed and replace three of my sensors in the car where it does not turn off when Im driving driving or or at a stoplight now my my wife can drive the car now

If I could give ZERO stars I would!! Completely unprofessional! I called two days prior to taking my car in! TWO DAYS!! I get to the mechanics and tell him the EXACT same thing that I said on the phone that two days ago! Then he proceeds to tell me that he won’t look at my car and won’t “diagnose it”. He said he’ll do my oil change but won’t check the car, “he’s sorry”. First and foremost, that’s not only unprofessional but extremely inconsistent to what you portray on your website. I risked my car potentially breaking down to get it there. I called to tell him that not only did I waste my gas getting there, but that I also wasted my time! I waited two days to take my car there because he told me on the phone that he can garentee that he finds the problem. He proceeds to tell me that “I scare him and talking to him in person was different” and that “people make mistakes”. So basically your saying your not confident in your work. He then tells me that he could potentially put a defective part in the car on accident or the part he puts in could be defective. What kind of company are you running???? STAY AWAY AND SAVE YOUR MONEY!!

If I could give six stars, I would. Robert and his crew are the best mechanics in the area, hands-down. My car broke down and I had it taken to another mechanic before I brought it here. The other mechanic couldnt even figure out what was wrong, but these guys immediately found the problem and gave me a fair price for everything they did.Best of all, Robert came into the shop when it was closed on Super Bowl Sunday to finish up some repairs-Ive never heard of a mechanic doing something like that before. A lot of mechanics are lacking in customer service, but not these guys-they make car repair much easier and I will surely come back here if I need a mechanic.

I have been to this shop and it is the only shop I trust with repairs. They even replaced a faulty belt under warranty without a problem following another repair since it was just out of warranty.They are informative; not pushy.UPDATE: I have been to this shop for four years now and I can say they still have great service. They stand behind their work and will get the job done.

People where friendly but they charged me $315.00 to find out what was wrong and then wanted to raise the bill to $1300.00 to possibly fix my car. I got a second opinion and the car was fixed for $400.00 with no questions about what was wrong. They either didnt know what they where doing or wanted to do more work than was needed. Again they are extremely friendly but I probably wont go back.

Awesome service all around but the most important thing was the honesty. They were straight up about costs and expenses while giving me the whole diagnosis for my 2001 Jetta. Best place in Chico for sure.

The Doctor of Motors has incredle service, starting from the efficiency of your vehicle repair to how they treat you as a person. I recall getting the best quote from them out of all other shops in Chico. It does not end here, they also drove me home(on a rainy day) after I dropped off my vehicle. Doctor of Motors is the ONLY Automotive Repair Shop in Chico that I constantly and confidently recommend to strangers, friends, and family. I have been servicing my cars with Doctors of Motors since 2007 and have never had a bad experience ( and being someone who has worked in service jobs my entire life, I am very critical of people in service positions). Their staff is talented and most importantly, the service writers Robert and Jessie are honest and operate with a high level of integrity.

I have had Doctor of Motors service my aging vehicles for many years (10+). They have always been friendly, courteous and up front with the issue(s) my vehicle is having and what is needed to be done to fix it. They have done everything from a simple oil change for me to a complete engine replacement. When I have had an issue with a repair, they have always promptly addressed it. I know I count on Doctor of Motors to treat me and my cars right!!

This place was awesome, My check engine light was on.and my car started shaking, then it died. I panicked looked up auto repair and found these guys. I called them first, because they popped up first. When they answered i told them i was gonna miss work and didnt know what to do. The man quickly asked me for my location and said some one would be there to get my car. Sure enough a tow truck arrived with in 10 maybe 15 minutes, we headed to the shop. As a young adult that doesnt know much about cars naturally i was nervous. The guy at the counter greeted me, concerned if i was alright. Told me he could fix the car but wanted to assure i was not harmed. Then he said lets make this quick so he could get me to work he said he would have information for me by noon, which he did. He told me my idle air control was bad and i ran out of gas, lol he told me it would be $350.0 and he would have it done by the time i got off. 5 o clock sharp they picked me up. I got my car and it was cleaned inside and out. thank you guys so much for such a good first experience. I would definitely recommend these guys.

Robert was straightforward about what they found wrong with my car and what they were going to do to fix it. He finished the work when he said he would, thoroughly explained what they did and why, and made recommendations moving forward.

I brought my 01 Silverado 1500 in and received amazing service for my smog and repairs as well. I have become a frequent flier here and they always manage to make me feel comfortable with the service they provide. Always at a great price!

First I will say that the WHAT... Was great! They fixed the wheel bearing and the car is still going strong. Good Job to the mechanic! However, As a business owner myself, I did not like the price hike that often occurs with mechanic shops and it happened here. In this case, we called around town and got quotes. The quotes were all around 300-800 in range. When we called Doctor of Motors they quoted us 250-350 and it could be done next day. When I brought the car in they said it wouldnt be a problem. As I was telling him about my social media marketing business and how I made a really good living... the price suddenly jumped from 250 to 507... When I asked why the jump?? He said the part was more expensive.. when I asked how much the per hour labor fee was, He said, We charge flat rates However, the part list says the total for the part was only 183. If you do the math right, His labor cost more than tripled during that one conversation. The sad thing is, we have two more cars that need work done but Im not going to be gouged because I make more money. Also, he noticed that I was missing a lug nut and graciously offered to replace it for $187. Screw me once its on me. Screw me twice? Never again!

I had Jesse change my oil and check the fluids in my car today and I am extremely happy with my service. I mentioned to him that my car was making a squeaking noise and he tightened my belt for free and fixed the squeaking. Its so hard to find an honest mechanics, especially when you dont know anything about cars. I am so happy I finally found one. :) Jesse is the only mechanic I will be taking my car to from now on.

Worst service ever in all my years !! They have no clue on what is going on in the shop .They charged my son $ 1600.00 for service on his car. We went to pick it up and they said it ran great .It did not make it around the block and was missing parts of the motor .Had to tow it back out of our pocket and it took them 2 weeks to say they had no clue why !!! No refund for nothing !! All they want to do is change parts and guess!! Please save your time and money and go elsewhere !!

All I wanted to do was get a quote for a particular repair so I called to get a price. they insisted that I come in and wouldnt take any information on my truck.Came in for scheduled appointment but had to wait a half hour till the guy who answers the phone came in. Then he takes one look at my truck and sends someone else to take my truck information the quotes me twice as much as anyone else in town.Couldnt you have just let me give you the information over the phone so that you could have given me a quote or did you think that if I just came in Ill blindly just let you fix my truck?Do you think your potential customers dont have time to waist on your shady business practices?

Tried this repair shop which recently opened at this location. Super friendly staff and did an excellent job with a relatively minor repair but were very informative when asked about a more complicated issue. Will definitely use them in the future

Best shop in town !!!! fast ... professional ....and honest.came in from out of town check engine light came on. i stop by another shop to get my work done they would not touch it for less the $120 just to diagnose my problem. And said wont be done till Monday morning at the earliest. needless to say I left and stopped off and spoke with Dr. Jesse (the man) he read my code for free ...found the part and replaced it for me back on the road no time...no more engine light. Just as cheap to fix it there then to find out what the problem was at the other spot.Dr Jesse to the recue !

I called a few places and read their reviews, but Doctor of Motors stuck the most out to me. When I called Doctor of Motors, a very kind, soft voice answered the phone. I was extremely pleased with how she answered my questions and I felt nothing but comfortable to bring my car in. Once I got there, the employees were so nice and understood that I was nervous and worried and did everything they could to ensure me that my car was going to be okay and that my parents were not going to murder me hahaha. I would definitely take my car there again! Great work! Extremely caring employees!

This place is terrible. Dont go here. They say you have more things wrong than what actually is wrong with your car. They try to get more money out of you. Plus they said they would keep my car inside because it was nicer and I have drove by twice and its outside. And they arent working with me on the money situation. A guy called me and he was a jerk to me on the phone.

The repair we paid hundreds of dollars to have done did not last 1 month, luckily we got a warranty and had someone else fix it. Had to pay for a second alignment because of their poor work. Also, a family member had their transmission fluid changed by Doctor of Motors only to find out the fluid was never changed.

Update: Under new management way better service.Went to have my car smogged. Waited for 20 minutes for them to take my car in even though I had an appointment. They finally took my car in and I noticed it sitting there for 45 minutes with the hood up. Then they put the hood down, waited another 20 minutes. I approached them and asked if they were finished. That is when they told me that they couldnt smog it because it didnt have a sticker on the aftermarket cold air intake. So I asked what they did for the last hour and 20 minutes. They said they immediately saw that it didnt have the sticker so they didnt do anything.

I came in because I had a code for misfire on cylinders 2 and 5 and I was due for a smog inspection. I had left my car for two days when they called and said I had a bad head gasket which would cost $2550.00. I asked if there was any way for my car to pass smog before the repair was done and he said there was no way and that they used the smog machine to confirm the diagnosis.When I picked up my car I had two new codes which they didnt mention. Im not insinuating that they sabotaged my car, I just doubt that they ever ran their own code reader on it.I called my father and explained what they said. He told me to bring it up for him to take a look and that he would be very surprised if the head gaskets were bad. He ran a combustion test which tested fine so he proceeded to look for other causes.He replaced a sensor which I bought at Auto Zone for $21.99 in less than an hour. Today (3 days after picking up my car from Doctor of Motors), my car passed the smog inspection.Whether this was incompetence or an outright scam, I am clearly dissatisfied with the service.There is a huge discrepancy between $2500 and $25.*Update*Jesse called me on 01/12/15 (I had my car in on 01/08-01/09) in response to this review. He apologized several times and stated that he didnt want any of his customers to feel this way. He assured me that he would speak to his technicians and the owner to get to the bottom of this.I am very interested in knowing exactly what was done to reach this diagnosis. It seems as if there were steps missed especially since my car had none of the symptoms associated with a blown head gasket (e.g. white smoke, missing coolant, milky white oil, overheating etc.)I will update again if/when I hear back from them.
