Found an old gift card from several years back. I figured I should bring it in and at least see if perhaps there was anything at all on it.The employee knew immediately to go to a binder beside the registers and was able to look up the card details right there on paper since they had switched to a new system and no longer had access to the old info!She was fully trained on how to transfer those funds to a new card so I could use it right there on my purchase. The whole process took maybe 2 minutes. I was truly impressed and she was so friendly!I know that if this kind of scenario had happened at some corporate retailer like Safeway or Target (etc.) the cashier would have probably had to call for a manager and it would have held up the line.Im so happy to be able to be an owner/community supporter of this awesome resource. She even walked me step-by-step through a change of address form for my ownership account.PS - Another employee was able to notice me having a rough tone searching for something after barely 10 seconds and offered to help.PPS - They sell Cali-made Peanut M&Ms made by SunRidge Farms (out of Royal Oaks, CA)...called Milk Chocolate Peanut Rainbow Drops.. I’m only reviewing the fruits and vegetables since that’s why I went to Chico Natural Foods Coop. I expected a food coop in the Central Valley of California in the summer to have an amazing selection but I was wrong. What they had mostly consisted of some apples and pears which aren’t even grown in the Central Valley. There were also a few small containers of blackberries, blueberries and strawberries and a few small, under ripe peaches. Oh, and everything was refrigerated which is a big mistake for most fruits (especially for peaches and strawberries). I realize the coop is pretty small and they maybe don’t have space for a big selection. If that’s the case just don’t offer them, focus on things you can’t get at the other grocery stores in Chico.

I buy the beeswax ear cones and produce. Always fresh always delicious local produce. Best co op Ive been to so far. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff.

I wanted to thank the Sunday morning staff for being so patient and KIND with me. They went above and beyond their job descriptions. I had not shopped at the co-op since March. I have to start with saying this store is undergoing major changes. So any negative reviews in the last few weeks must be taken with a grain of salt. Every single person there is doing thier best to accommodate each and every shopper who comes in while major consuction is going on in the back half of the store! You can imagine the disruption to thier ordering and thier normal routines. While there i saw staff working extra hard to try and fulfill customer requests.When they reopened this week everyone was amazed by how nice the new floors looked. We all know how projects like this go. They always take longer than expected! I have seen nothing but smiles and support from this group of workers.

Chico Nat has been our go-to store for MANY years now. I love that they feel like a safe place that reflects my values - inclusivity, local, fresh, etc. They have yummy fresh produce so I dont have to worry about having missed the Farmers Market to get my local goods. They stock from many local suppliers as well like Llano Seco, Tin Roof, Hearth and Stone, Lundberg, and Beber (to name a few). The prepared foods are delicious and there is a nice vegan selection (the vegan fruit crisp is my favorite)!

I really love CNFC but it is a big gigantic bummer that I cant reliably buy meat there. It is the one thing that keeps me shopping at competitor stores. Other than that, CNFC has a great selection of just about anything you are looking for, the staff is helpful and friendly, and the store is always sparkly clean.

I 💚 my CoOp. Ive shopped there since railroad tracks time. Im proud to say I was 1 of the cooks in the cafe. Every time I go in there are new better changes (the only constant in life). 10☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆

My first time in a store since March. It was good. Everyone was wearing a mask. There were protective plexiglas around the cashiers. I only saw 1 customer without a mask. All the employees had masks.

Great store, with wonderful and bubbly staff. They are handling the pandemic wonderfully, they provide masks, have hand sanitizer locations throughout the store and are consistently cleaning surfaces. All around wonderful place to shop and a great place to buy local produce and natural speciality items.

Its been awhile since Ive shopped here, since we moved about an hour south of Chico. But I m still amazed at all they stock. Ill be back to shop soon!

I love to shop here. The staff is extremely helpful, especially Beth, who Im pretty sure does mostly customer relations. The inventory is great, especially in the bulk section. The cashew and almond crunch bars are the best $1 snacks I can possibly imagine. Aside from member discounts, they offer coupons that make help make a big difference in your shopping experience. I prefer the prices over S&S, especially for fruit and produce. I make it a point to renew my membership every year.

Hard to find things.

Very good selection of bulk, bagged, canned, frozen, refrigerated, and fresh. Ready to eat sandwiches in fridge and salad and hot bar if you’re hungry NOW! Great store! Friendly and helpful staff! I make a point to shop there every time I’m in town. Wish it was in my neighborhood (2500mi away.)

Very good food, expensive but worth it, if you can afford. The food bar is the best !! The spinach and cheese croissants are so good. And the fridge with food they cooked on site has great stuff ! My favorites are the butternut squash lasagna & salted caramel brownies 😊

Pretty well stocked & will order anything they can for you. Staff is the sweetest, friendliest, most helpful, Ive ever encountered A little expensive, but affordable membership helps defer cost.

I usually buy bulk items here, like peanuts, instant/baby oats, etc, etc. The salad bar could use some additional imagination. The burritos could be less painful when you eat them (too much burning spice). Looking forward to their moving to a new location. One of the few natural food stores Ive shopped at that do NOT give seniors a discount. Why not?!

Now THIS place FEELS like a cooperative!! We LOVE THIS PLACE!! .. great selection, reasonably priced and located directly in a slowly revitalizing area of Chico!! If you need road foods passing through Chico, STOP here and GET some!!..

After buying food at our Farmers Market, this is my first choice to shop. I consider the co-op family. Appreciate being able to buy bulk foods good prices. Gave it a 4 as I wish they were more transparent about the food via shelf talkers. They carry junk food like Udis (and others) which is full of all sorts of chemicals and not organic. People go in the store thinking they dont have to read labels. But you do. All the health food stores still need label reading, not just here. READ LABELS no matter where you are, even here.

Tons of local options and organic goodness. The staff is super friendly and helpful. It tends to be about a buck more expensive than other stores for the same thing on bigger brands.

Their spinach naan bread and hummus is super good and lasts a few days

Great natural salad bar and homemade soup. Convenient location. A great assortment of specialty items such as lactose-free sour cream and Kambucha.

The food is organic, but its also really pricey. Im pretty sure that if youre a member you get a discount, but I dont think its worth it. Go to Trader Joes or SnS for better deals.

Somewhat overpriced for most food and produce. I stop here for quick drinks or snacks and the sulfite free wines.

I wish my town had a Coop and an S&S Produce. These are the places we shop when were here. This is the most perfect smallish cooperative and it really has an excellent assortment of produce.

Hot food always makes the store smell super yummy. Excellent quality produce that stays fresh much longer than any other store.

I have been a member at Chico natural foods for most of forty years. I like it. Sometimes quirky always working on Improvement now they have wonderful hot food available breakfast lunch and dinner sometimes I treat myself and enjoy it

This place is great I went there looking for some vegan ice cream and whip cream the staff was really helpful. There was one employ that was not working in that moment but she took her time to help me find what I need.

The Co-op is my go to for yummy gluten free vegan treats. Friendly staff and a good selection of products keep me coming back again and again.

Better price on most items and staff is always friendly/helpful you can order things in cases and get a discount! One of our favorite shopping stops!
