I was surprised when I found out about the new doctor at this clinic. Dr. Kolb is a fantastic person and even better doctor. I absolutely adore this local eye care clinic, with its rustic and warm feel. Of course alongside with a great doctor is an excellent staff. When I came in for my appointment, it felt like I was visiting family (the good kind, of course). Everyone genuinely cared about me, from the person checking me in to Dr. Kolb. Adding to the list, their selection is quite unique. When I say they have a little bit of everything, I mean it! They have everything from budget frames to hand-crafted designer frames. Give them a call and see if they take your insurance. Even if they dont - they offer a $40 discount if you pay for your exam on the same day without insurance! Will definitely be coming back here for many years.

Today is the first time in 45 years I had an excellent eye exam from a lovely young woman who is our new resident optometrist. Not only is she very observant but has the best chair side manner Ive ever experienced. Shes kind, empathetic, thorough and easy to converse with. I would highly recommend this practice.

Dr. Carrie and her staff went above and beyond expectations while taking care of me during a recent eyecare situation that became urgent. From quick diagnosis and emergency treatment to calling me on a Sunday to make sure I was Ok, Dr. Carrie and her staff are the best! Thank you!!!.

After experiencing decades of excellent service and professional care with Dr. Lon Arneson, Dr. Kolb and her team have stepped right in and kept up the excellent service. You are treated with respect and at the same time almost feel like family. I plan on trusting the ongoing care of my eyesight to Dr. Kolbs capable care and team.

I have been to Northwoods many times as a child. Once I became an adult and had my own insurance, I started going to other places. I eventually went back 2 years ago and re discovered how good they are. They always have a buy one get one free frame special. In 2016, instead of getting a free frame, I got 20% off my sunglasses lenses since my sun glasses were in great shape. 2017 I had hoped for the same deal. I stopped by before work to drop my sunglasses off a couple days after my yearly exam and standard lense order. I was told they couldnt do the 20% off the lenses for my existing pair. Because I was in a hurry and didnt have time, I paid full price for the lenses and didnt get a free pair. Today I went in to pick up my sunglasses and told them I should of picked out new frames. She said I still could, but I would have to pay for more lenses. I told her that Ill just save the new frames for back up. She said she couldnt let me do that. I told her I would like to return my sunglasses lenses then. She said I couldnt. I explained that they were double dipping. I didnt get a free frame so they made additional money off me. On top of that they have an extra frame to sell. It became a fight for dominance and not about pleasing the customer at this point. I told her I made the mistake, but do you understand? She said yes. I also asked if this situation was worth it to you since I wont be coming back ever again. She said yes. I said, wow youre good. Can I at least have a new glasses case? She said yes. I picked out a case and told her to think about this now and ask yourself is it worth future business. - the conclusion is self explanatory in a sense that the sale was done and no one wanted to meet me half way to make sure I left happy. I felt soaked for every last dollar and left without a concession. If a person pays over 600 for an exam, one frame with lenses, and another set of sunglasses lenses, you would hope that the business would be appreciated. 2 stars for the business - 3 stars for the employee who took this situation personal and didnt ask other staff members for help. I am hopeful that others will have a better experience although mine was relatively poor.

Excellent eye care. Dr. Lon takes an intrest in your eye health. I never feel rushed when I have questions or need explaination of anything. I have no problem recommending this office. They really treat their customers well. The doctors to the, technicians, and the receptionist everyone makes you feel important.
