They have a nice variety of items and are a convenient place to go. I found the nuts, bolts, washers, and spacers I was looking for to replace some missing bolts on my car. Bonus can be very overpriced at other retail outlets

If youre looking for a store that has staff knowledgeable about what they sell, Id chose Northwest Ace Hardware over the competitors, any day! Sometimes, other big box stores have the product cheaper, but Id rather pay a premium for the experience and customer service.

Well-stocked hardware store in walking distance our neighborhood. Friendly and knowledgeable staff, extensive stock of Yeti, we enjoy going here to browse and for home improvement.

The lady that runs the cash register, (who used to work next door at Wades),always ask me how I am today? And by the time I get to the main aisle I usually am greeted by a salesman who ask if he can help me with what I am looking for. I have not had a salesperson at *owes if they can help me unless I go to the contractor sales desk.Now,I would shop at Ace Hardware more,but the items in Ace Hardware is 20% or more higher than *OME DEPOT,or *OWES H.B.

I use to enjoy shopping here, but they seem to be under new management now and raised the prices on most things. Being retired military, I use to get a 10% military discount here, but the last few times I have been in, they told me they do not have a Military Discount. One of the cashiers told me the new owners did away with the discount. Thats ok though, to each their own. I dont have to shop here and can go where they do offer a Military discount.

I just want to clarify some extremely misleading information posted as an opinion below. Rich Bailey was/is evidently unhappy with his experience in Northwest Ace Hardware, and that can happen, but what he stated was totally false. Northwest Ace Hardware in Christiansburg has never offered a military discount. Never. Never in the 3+ years of existence, has a military discount been offered. Judge that as you wish, but the management/ownership of the store (now open almost four years) has never offered a military discount and the ownership has never changed. Never. So you can judge the truthfulness of the critic based accordingly. The franchise affiliation has changed from TrueValue to Ace but otherwise the store remains the same. So if there is lingering bitterness over the lack of a military discount, rest assured that there never was one. If NW Hardware is to be judged badly because of that, and ignored for the excellence of their customer service in every other aspect, well... lets hope folks have a nice day otherwise.

Ace is the place for great people. This place was great as true value and only better as Ace hardware. Knowledgeable employees and always friendly.

The extremely friendly and helpful staff, along with the plentiful selection, make this my favorite hardware store in the area. There is an entire wall of hardware along the back that rivals the diversity of the local Fastenal. Their sandpaper and shaping products section is even better than either Lowes or Home Depot. And their paint department even had small cans of model spray paint.

Nice selection of products for a smaller store, compared to Lowes or Home Depot. However, the overall appears much more expensive than the big box home improvement options.

Love that this store has everything! I was looking for an old style drain grate, looked online, Amazon, of course the big box stores and it was not to be found, but went into NW TrueValue and there it was! Bought two! They are much more expensive than other stores which is the big and only downside. If they would be price competitive theyd have all five stars! Nice store and if its oddball theyll have it!Review is 2 stars because or prices-yesterday the associate in store said were higher because we carry higher quality; which is not true. They have the same brands as Walmart, Home Depot, Lowes etc. Just more expensive. Id love to love this place more but pricing is the big issue.

It is a quality hardware store.

We walked in the store and there were two people standing behind the counter talking. They looked at us but didnt bother to acknowledge us in any way. We went in to see if they had a flag we saw hanging outside of another location. Not one time while we were in the store looking for the flag did anyone ask if we found everything we were looking for or if they could even help us find what we were looking for. The two in the front continued their conversation about some woman whom we assumed works there and they werent happy w her. Needless to say we didnt find the flag and left the store w/out even a thank you! Come again! I was so disappointed about not being able to find the flag and yes i could have asked but the way they were talking about the other lady i was like, No. Im not gonna bother them and interrupt their conversation to give them someone else to talk unkindly about.

Fantastic customer service! I needed a simple 45 angle cut that lowes wouldnt do and Northwest True Value did for free.

So my house was attacked by ants. In an effort to make a final stand I needed help. The associates here helped me get exactly what I needed. It was like the Empire Strikes Back. I eradicated the ants. I have not seen them since...
