Sanctuary coffee is kind of a trip. You want to like it but, it also makes you wonder. For instance I know they donate all their stuff back to things that need it but their place is really sparkly shiny and someone invested a lot of money in it. I find that places that you invest a whole lot of money is done for a whole lot of reason, and not usually the reason people state. Having said that, I drank their matcha which, to be honest, was kind of like drinking dishwater. I then tried a coffee drink, and it was mediocre at best. So, its a place you want to like but one shouldnt strive too high with a place like this. It does look like its good for schooling, I mean students and theyve got lots of games and things like this. Someone thought this out and I give props to that; the staff are friendly and it seems like a great place but one shouldnt come away with an elitist feeling that youre making the world a better place by going there, thats all I mean.
Based on the mixed reviews, I ordered a cup of the basic fresh brewed coffee. Tasted fine to me, and next time Ill order the unlimited cup whenever I need to get the adrenaline going with that addictive drug..... caffeine. Or is it addictive?
Beautiful environment and great service!!!!! What a nice place to have a quiet time or to study. The coffee itself wasnt 5 star, it didnt have flavor (I ordered the English Toffee Latte) but I am willing to go and try another flavor. 👍
Great coffee, awesome service, really cool place to study. Quiet and aesthetically pleasing setting. ✨
Came in here on a very rainy day and the service I received was not quite what I was expecting. The person who helped me was very short with me and that came off as rude. I ordered a hot chai latte of which was super hot and very very dry. I noticed that most of the syrup or powder was at the bottom because it was very sweet towards the end. The vibe in that shop was confusing to me. Will not be returning.
Jazz played in the background while I looked at Nike cat amongst other art.I sat on steps which was nice. They had Monopoly and chess so they have to be cool.Oh, the coffee tasted great too.
Sanctuary Coffee has a variety of coffee and tea drinks. They have a large variety of latte flavors including chocolate, vanilla, caramel, cinnamon, mint, hazelnut, English toffee, Irish cream, and lavender, to name a few. They also have a small variety of pastry items.I ordered a Creme Brulee Latte. There wasnt much of a Creme Brulee flavor. I didnt taste much of the coffee either. It was overly creamy. It felt like it was mostly milk. It wasnt that great.Service was alright. The barista was friendly. He had to stop us midway while ordering to grab another food item for another customer. We waited a bit before our drinks arrived. There was around one other person that ordered before us and around three that ordered after we did. One of the baristas called out, Creme Brulee Latte. Another customer ended up grabbing my drink by accident even though she arrived after we did. I think a name system would be more efficient.Sanctuary Coffee wasnt much of a sanctuary. Ive had better Creme Brulee Lattes elsewhere. I wont be back.
This coffee shop has nice, open, comfortable space(s) and a great outdoor patio. It’s got a nice vibe. It’s a place where you can read, study, or have small group meetings. They donate profits to local charities and that’s a good thing. I just wish their coffee and baked goods were better. Service can also be a bit slow.
I liked my drink, but I wish they had more unique drinks with different flavors to make them stand out. love that theyre a nonprofit. my husband got their chai and we both found it extremely sweet—he adds chocolate to his chai, so thats part of why, but just be forewarned if youre a chai person that their base chai is VERY sweet to begin with. The ambiance inside is very nice and would be great for studying or working. Its quiet and the employees were all very fast and kind. super fair prices. I noticed that they have free refills on drip coffee if you stay in store to work, which is unique and helpful, so thats nice! the more you know. worth going to
Awesome selection of coffees, great atmosphere, very friendly staff. Got to try the Carmel Turtle Latte...hot or cold...winner!
Staff not very friendly, my latte taste really bad. Please improve.
Great little spot to read a book or do work
Pretty good coffee and a nice place to get homework done.
Fantastic coffee and great vibe!
A awesome place to work, friendly people and good drinks
Good Americano. They are moving locations so space was bare and the owner was working the espresso bar and cash register. Seemed distracted by his laptop with 3 people waiting. Definitely not in a rush.
Such a fun place, love the vive. There was a Valentines Day event. Selling flowers with @Avantblooms. So beautiful. Once you walk in the coffee shop. The smell of coffee fills the rooms. The yummy treats are the best. Great prices and service is amazing. A great place to study or hangout with friends.
Super comfortable inside and the drinks had good flavor.
The employee said their decaf machine is/has been broken so no decaf. The employee also stated the owner told him to close up early since it was Sunday. So I couldn’t order anything because the employee was already shutting everything down 45 minutes early, and if I wanted decaf on another day the decaf grinder is broken so it wouldn’t be available.
Great atmosphere both inside and in the garden. The coffee had a great flavor but the milk in the cappuccino was a bit burnt and over frothed. Could have been a one off so Im hoping next time is better.
Great place to study and delicious beverages to enjoy 😋
Had a great first time here at Sanctuary Coffee, the workers were very friendly and had good conversations with. Made me feel at home. Appreciate everything Steve!
The patio is open for seating if you need someplace to study or work. While shady, it can still get a bit hot. An icy cold drink is one way to combat the heat. I would also suggest heading over early.
Good coffee, nice vibe inside. Great cause. It feels meaningful in eat here
With Augies coffee now gone from Claremont, this is arguably the best coffee in the local area. The espresso shots are excellent! Drip coffee is really good. Iced mochas are excellent. The customer service is awesome as well. I highly recommend this place!
I have gone to this coffee shot a couple of times. The coffee is very good, but a little pricey. There are lots of good spaces to sit. It seemed like a quiet place to work but I was not there for that purpose. A delightful coffee spot. We were 3 particular elders, 2 of us foodies. For all 3 of us to say that the coffee was perfect is unlikely, yet it was. Served in large round cups - very satisfying to hold.
Great place for coffee. Amazing atmosphere. There’s a spot with good book or studying and a good place to drink coffee with friends out on the patio also. Scones are great. Coffee again is fantastic. Very impressed.
Not sure why these reviews are calling it expensive. $2.50 for a cup of *good* coffee ($3.50 for unlimited refills) in a spatially and emotionally open setting seems pretty fair. Plus its not for profit so whatever pennies they make off your order lift up the local community.
Very friendly and welcoming customer service. They recommended me a few options based off of my preferences and I enjoyed it whole heartedly. The Vibe is very chill and relaxing. I managed to get a lot of work done. Good spot to study and enjoy some great coffee. Definitely recommend coming here if youre in the area!
I love that there are a lot of options and they always have one or two gluten free treats. The coffee is good, they have a wide range of teas, and the staff are all friendly and nice. This is a good place to meet a friend, have a study group or get work done.
Friendly service and the coffee was good. No wait either
So bummed! I was so excited to find that the make lavender lattes but soo so disappointed to find that it was sour. One star for servin such a bad large but an extra star Bc the barista was nice. I may try it again another time...probably not.
This is my go to study spot. They have a lot of drinks on the menu and the baristas are all very nice. There is plenty of room to study with two separate levels. The tables are big which is great for group studying. On the weekend it can get very busy and seating can be difficult to find.
I kept riding past this place after it opened, and it looked so welcoming. I finally had the time to stop in, and although I cant get here as much as Id like, I am constantly wishing for a little break to get away and come drink the delicious coffee and soak up the wonderful atmosphere.I constantly google coffee shops/study environment, and this is easily in my top 3. Yep, Im hooked. The people on the other side of the counter are friendly, personable, and authentic. As a matter of fact that was the very first thing I noticed on my first visit... I felt truly welcomed and comfortable. There is also parking for bicycles and motorcycles right in front of the place, and Ive had my saddle bags broken into in a parking lot, so it gives me peace of mind leaving my bike out there and not worrying about somebody stealing my stuff. (Not that it cant happen, but some things we just cant control.) Anyway, thats a BIG deal. Id like to spread the word... motorcycle friendly!!!
This is an interesting place. The coffee is so good. Really solid quality. And everything they stand for is incredible. The pastries are good, but definitely hit or miss. Stick with your favorites. They just added chaga to the menu and its really great (priced accordingly though.) Some service issues occasionally but almost all of the baristas are awesome!
Love the coffee at this place! Big comfy couch makes it easy to hang out longer than what I should. Favorite drink is the creme brûlée!
Perfect coffee shop. Nice insides, great patio, good coffee.
Great place to hang out and have a conversation over coffee. They have comfy couches as well as lots of tables. They also have outdoor seating. Great place to work as well. You can also buy free refills! Friendly staff and delicious sweet treats. Highly recommended.
Had my first visit today, Omar was very friendly and gave me the story about the Sanctuary and their mission. Their purpose is great, I admire their community service. Service is great, ambiance is cozy without being overly dark or trying too hard. My americano was good. Ill be back for sure! Thanks!
Great place to do homework or meet a friend for a quiet coffee. If Im not mistaken they give nearly all of their profits to charity.
Awesome Place to get your eat on or your healthy drink on ! My favorite health drink is number 8 and 6 the best !!!
This is my favorite coffee shop around. Staff is always pleasant, and the vibe is wonderful. Coffee is good quality and not too expensive. I always get the unlimited cup for $3 as Im a poor grad student. Lastly, the proceeds go to charity. How can you beat this?
If youre going to buy coffee, why not just buy it at a place that gives the money directly to charity! Dont give your money to corporations, buy your coffee while giving back to your own community. First time here, I think the place is great. Lots of space. Quiet. Very relaxing good energy.
Best coffee place in town! Great space to study for students. Can hold a lot of people. Wonderful coffee drinks like the creme brulee latte and cold brews. The best best is their religious aspect where the profits go towards donations and supporting charities.
Smelled great I thought I was ok to get a cup of coffee 16 minutes before closing (3pm). I was turned away. That was a bummer.
Loved this place. So open and lots of seating. Games to play, great coffee and sanctuary donates to charities supporting those in need in the Los Angeles area. Great place to enjoy coffee and friends.
I put in 5 stars but honestly, its more of a 4.9 for me at this point. The coffee is seriously of a connoisseur quality thats rare ... flavorful, refined & dapper. The comfortable & stylish decor is made all the lovelier with truly thought-provoking and awe-inspiring artwork. The baked goods? ... Well, theres not enough of a range in that for me - it was good, but there was not a whole lot to choose from. I adore this place but would love it even more dearly if slightly more food options were available. Nevertheless, the place is absolutely worth visiting and frequenting extremely often! :)
Delicious coffee, a good place to relax and do homework or just chill with yo friends. The workers are really sweet and helpful (:And vegans, they have oat milk here and vegan breads 😍
What a charming little coffee house! The employees were very friendly and helpful. I had a cappuccino with soy and it was delicious. Bonus: they have gluten-free pastries!! Great place :)
What a pleasant surprise. Ive been trying to visit this coffee brewery for a long time. I was not disappointed
Best interdimensional coffee shop in the Galaxy!!! Everyone is super nice, almost to nice. The girl who is behind the counter has extremely beautiful blue eyes. Im pretty sure they are all aliens. The guy who made my human drink as Im sure he calls it was possibly the tallest person Ive ever seen. He did a great job though.
They have delicious lattes. They are very quick. Its a great spot to come in and have a cup coffee and study with your laptop. They have wifi.
I am so glad the Lord, in His providence, brought me here. I have been looking for a great place to spend hours doing work and studying and I have finally found it! Super chill staff, awesome coffee/pastries, and a wonderful ambiance! Stop by if you have the opportunity. You will be glad you did! :)
This place is very welcoming, the energy is something else in this place. Daniel and Jack helped me out they were super friendly, they are very easy going and it fits the vibe of the place. I was given a little coffee 101 by Daniel and he refereed me to the Tanzania Pour over brew.Very awesome vibe cant wait until they start hosting events.
This is a great place to study. There are plenty of tables, but some days it can be really packed. Theyre open until 10, so its easier to find open tables later in the evening. They have many outlets that are all easily accessible. The back room is a much quieter place to study than the front. The coffee is delicious. If you plan on being here a good while, Id suggest purchasing the in-house coffee. They have two different kinds to choose from. Last time I went they had Colombian and Ethiopian. You pay about $3 and you get unlimited refills.
Good coffee but not cheap. Hard to find a chair to sit sometimes because too many people using the place as their office. Whats with people nowadays? Apparently they think buying a cup of coffee entitles them to monopolize chairs and tables for the rest of the day. All coffee shops need to start enforcing time limits. This isnt a public library!
My business partner and I have had 2 meetings there and its a perfect environment for our needs. The staff is friendly and helpful, the selection of teas and coffee are great, plenty of seating in a calm, inviting atmosphere. We will be back!
Almond coconut latte! Loved it! Went on a Saturday morning (June 10) & it was very quiet, not too many people there. I didnt explore the place much, but I knew I liked it. Its nice to have other options than your typical fast-coffee joint that sells burnt coffee. There was some cool art on the wall & bags of coffee for sale.
Nice quiet place. Not the best part of two and as expensive as you would expect but nice people with a nice atmosphere made the trip enjoyable and was a nice break from the day. Do recommend.
Ample space to study, the place has really friendly staff... this patio were sitting in is not bad even in hot weather... Ample parking... the really good cold brew
I love the philosophy/business model of this place: decent pay for the workers, charitable donations with the profits. Fantastic, well-prepared teas and coffees, yummy pastries, quiet atmosphere. Its a great place to read or work.
Excellent espresso, crema is amazing. Sweet, chocolatey, yummy!Update: 11/13/17 Loving the Resurrection as we plan the weeks ahead. EXCELLENT coffee. Usually rake cream, but not here
Really good tasting coffee n the pumpkin pecan bread was bomb 😋
Amazing vibe, amazing coffee, and who knew oat milk and coffee was so delicious! Will definitely be going more often! So amazing that its a non-profit too!
Came in here to use printer the directions on there didn’t work. I asked people studying how to use it no ones used it!! Then owner confounded was there sitting talking about non sense with an employee who she hired from a friend. I asked her for help and she told me read the printer? I obviously did that and it wasn’t working. The coffee was horrible. Customers are blinded by regular coffee being unlimited. Worst coffee shop ever. Not to mention the rude customer service.
Best lavender latte, EVER. Great leadership and service. Amazing atmosphere.
I love their drip coffee. The employees are nice and its a great place to study.
This place is great! I work in the city and Ive been to every coffee shop here. This one definitely stands out. Delicious coffee.
Clean, neat, well-maintained, and spacious coffee shop with all the amenities you need to get work done and be productive.
Amazing drinks, the staff are nice, and their mission is incredible. 5 stars.
Coffee tastes good, Cool atmosphere.
Excellent place to meet with friends for coffee, tea, light food. Outstanding atmosphere. Recommend you try it out.
The best affagato ever !!
Amazing hidden gem. Staff is super friendly. One of my fav spots in the inland empire. Goes towards a good cause and the vibe is so good
Wonderful spot. Coffee was fresh, not a bit bitter, full flavored. The space is large, decorated with vintage items, very welcoming. Plan on visiting a lot.
Today was great tea, internet access and good people
God bless this spot. Nobody bothers you. Free WiFi. And the coffee is actually good. Cant say that for any other local coffee spot
If youre looking for somewhere to get your work done, this is the coffee shop to be. I like how they have big tables so you can definitely work in here for groups.Im no coffee expert, Im a Starbucks frap kind of human being, so that in mind, I love their Caramel Turtle Latte :)
Came here to plan a wedding with my girls and the vibes were so warm and welcoming. We took too long to grab our drinks so the barista delivered it our table and was so kind about it. The coffee, service and layout of the place is all so amazing!
It has a wonderful atmosphere and the lady who made my drink did a great job.
Sanctuary is my new favorite coffee spot. The coffee is really good (I recommend their Ethiopian). They are open early for before I go into work and open late when I want to hang out in the evenings. All baristas go above and beyond to make you feel welcomed and like family.
