IMO part of me would like to rate 4 stars for various reasons but because my bagels were very enjoyable I believe that should count for something. Came here 2 times while visiting in the area. What they do well:-Cream cheese ( Bacon Horseradish was outstanding! It had strips/pieces of bacon in it (but the bacon didnt really contribute any flavor, the horseradish was the real star)-Overall delicious bagels (however not exactly NY like)-Cinnamon Raisin bagel with Strawberry cream cheese was absolutely wonderful. The bagel was perfectly cinnamon-y. Almost dessert-like. A real treat!-The bagels exterior I found to be a bit crunchy(even as non toasted) still was good although not my preference-Decent customer serviceWhat could be better:-Dont accept American Express-Social distancing/capacity procedures (hand written on small signs, wasnt exactly sure where to go/what to do) said 2 customers in at a time to order & then to wait outside but customers werent noticing/following the recommendations. I felt safe, just it seemed a little chaotic.-Sizes of the bagels were inconsistent. Especially for the price which I dont mind paying as long as product is consistent each time. My second time visit, the bagels were noticeably smaller. The bagels are displayed nicely in a case when youre there which visibly had good size bagels in them.-The Everything bagel was a nice bagel but there was such a small amount of the Everything seasoning that it would have been better to just have a plain bagel.Overall, I would come back based on the taste quality.
Amazing bagels!! Be ready to chew, chew, chew!! Authentic NY bagels thankfully generously covered in toppings. I love that they have salt bagels!! Would have given 5 stars, but price of bagels is 1.45 each which is very fair for what you get. Bagel with cream cheese is 3.69! Bagel with flavored/ specialty cream cheese is 4.29! I feel that $2.14 to $2.84 is alot for some cream cheese. I will say they had some great sounding flavors like bacon horseradish.
A staple in the Clearwater Community. No other place to go for a real bagel.Einstein Bagel across the street didnt weather the Covid19 storm, they closed.Clearwater Bagel, a small bagel shop is still standing!!! The best ever.
I’m from NY and I love these bagels. Just as good. If they started making good bialys and flagels it would be 100%
They make bagels the right way, they are boiled and then baked not steamed while in the oven. They are the right size not over proofed sure the other way you get a larger bagel but it is full of air not flavor. They even have a sign on the wall near the register sayings it is ok to freeze them but dont refrigerate them. A really authentic place to get traditional bagels.
Awesome place and great onion bagels and great prices, staff was nice and its very busy in the morning
Where do I begin... the only reason this review has 2 stars is because the bagels are good however, Ive seen how the boss treats the staff (mostly the wife not the husband), she talks down to them and is very rude I saw her glaring at one of them once. The staff is very friendly though my order gets screwed up sometimes. The staff is mostly young (pleasent) people dont know why the woman treats them so poorly, ruins atmosphere.
This is my new favorite. I love the everything bagels with Jalapeno cream cheese. I have tried most of the savory flavors and the some of the shcmears. The honey butter was not my favorite, but is sure didnt spit it out. I have seen the rugelach and Im very curious, Im from the south so Ive never had it, but it looks tasty. I think Ill try that next. Some lady got a lox bagel that looked pretty like a picture, but Im afraid of that because I dont like really like salmon so Ill have to save that for a day that Im really brave. They are busy, but they are super friendly.
Very fresh bakery. Cant beat the food. Service very friendly.
10/10 not that great and definitely not New York bagels. The woman (I think she’s the owner) had terrible customer service and is the number one reason we will not be going back.
Everything perfect and the way it should be. Ten star products in a five star world. Thanks for the great products !A must stop when in the area.
Efficiently quick service with tasty bagels, but can be pricey. Coffee was good. There was a man mopping the floors swearing like a sailor when we stopped in very early on our way to golf.
Super staff. Great bagels made fresh daily.
Bagels are big, light, and fluffy. Theyve got a nice selection of cream cheeses. You can park around the side. Theres no seating. Grab a pastry too!
The best bagels I have found, thus far in Pinellas county.
Small place BIG on bagels! Smells great, nice people fair prices..
Great bagel 🥯 nothing else to say cause I just grab & go
This place probably had the best bagels for a Florida based shop. Still not the same as a ny/NJ bagel but still tasty. I like the array of homemade cream cheeses and butters. Coffee is not worth the almost 4 bucks I spent on a 12oz. Reminded me of dinner coffee. A little pricey overall. Id still recommend trying it if your on the search for a ny-esk bagel.
After sampling bagels all over Central Florida, this place is the best I have found. Their bagels and other menu items are excellent. Great to have this local business here. Been coming here forever and always pleased.
Amazing fresh bagels. Tried the everything bagel, toasted, with chive cream cheese and lox. Sooo good. So many choices of cream cheese.
Absolutely delicious!! So glad we stopped by.
I have been going here since I moved to Fl. Always good bagels and owners were nice. For whatever reason today and there should never be a reason the owner was very very rude my son goes there often orders the same thing each time now today he’s yelling from the back to order from the menu not only that he’s talking about him to the cashier as if he wasn’t standing there which she made a statement he gets the same thing everytime but it didn’t matter. Also was being rude to the workers. That’s no way to run a business sir. I’m really shocked but won’t be back there!
Dont like bagels, but everyone else in the family does, so we grabbed some. The place is properly safe and social distanced (only 2 people at a time), and the kids running the shop are fast and helpful.Bagels are also really nice. I still dont care for bagels, but these are really nice, especially the sesame and everything bagels with there home made cream cheese.
I had a toasted everything with tomato and cream cheese and a coffee. I thought the bagel was better than the big chain across the street, and the coffee was good. Just what I needed before a long drive to Miami.
The best bagels in Florida. Soft on the inside and crispy outside.
Very good bagels Im from New York and they are comprable to the bagels there. Too bad they dont have a restaurant so you can sit down and enjoy them. Just 1 flimsy table outside reason for the four stars not five. The coffee is good also.
Cinnamon raisin bagel needs more cinnamon :/.
My parents stopped patronizing this place 20 or so years ago because they would go straight from handling money to handling food. They seem to have straightened that out, but despite having great bagels, the customer service will leave a bad taste in your mouth. I want to enjoy this establishment because it’s so hard to find a small business with a good product around here, but they make it hard.I ordered a coffee (even though i know they don’t have great coffee, tastes like water) and it was made incorrectly. I called ahead before my next visit and asked if they could discount me that amount and they said yes, but when I got here to buy my two bagels (for $10!) they only wanted to give me a new coffee. I explained I didn’t want coffee, I’d already stopped and gotten it elsewhere. But Brian (I’m assuming owner? Manager?) said “coffee’s not the same as a bagel” profound & thought-provoking words from a cheapskate. He wasn’t saying that when he took my money for the coffee the first time. So what’s wrong with discounting me the money I SPENT in order to resolve an issue with a displeased customer? They don’t have the first clue on how to turn a displeased customer into a returning one. Their loss, really. Enjoy your bagels while you can; once they disappoint you they’ll make sure not to make up for it. Skip the coffee.
A little pricey, but delicious. Authentic New York style bagels with a variety of fresh made cream cheeses. The hot pastrami sandwich was expensive at $9.99 for a slightly small portion, but absolutely delicious. A little alice of home for this New Englander and his pregnant wife who was absolutely craving a bagel with a good shmear.
The best bagels on the west coast of Florida.
Always fresh, great options and closest to ny bagels in area
Local bagel shop. Not open on Monday. Good service. Bagels are good.
Friendly staff, great bagels
The bagels were good, but not as large as I expected--especislly for 5-6 dollars for a bagel and cream cheese. The cream cheese was very thin, almost runny. It made me feel like I was eating a bagel with mayo on it, and it really put me off. That was my first time going, and Im a Clearwater native, so I wanted to love it so bad, but I just wasnt super impressed. Could have been an off day. The coffee was decent.
What a very pleasant surprise! The best coffee and bagels that I have had in years 💓😋 And such friendly service too! You have a new regular customer here.
Simply the best! What more can I say? Can I give them MORE than 5 stars?! I’m always welcomed by friendly, polite, and cleanly employees. The same amazing people have owned this place for years and if you’re a northern transplant here in Florida, craving a familiar taste and texture of “what a bagel is SUPPOSED to taste like,” then look no further. This is it! Keep doing what you do, Clearwater Bagel!!!!!
Amazing bagels and coffee...if in the area its a must stop
Ive been going there Water Bagels for over 25 years and they are the best bagels around to date
You want a real bagel this is the one stop destination for them I have been to 30 different bagle shops from plant city Florida to Miami an this one is my favorite mmmmmm goodness!!!!
Pricy for the size of bagel and when ordered everything on it but only got pastrami for $10...not buying again - disappointed 😞 coffee ordered with sugar and it was yuck! 🤢
Drove.5 hours just to get these.bagels.will make trip again next month
The only properly made bagels in Pinellas County. If you miss Zaro’s NYC, Clearwater Bagels is the answer. The rugelach is also a special treat.
Nicest people, great bagels, and the lox was outstanding. Also, their flavored cream cheeses are great! Try the bacon horseradish!
Friendly service, but I couldve made a better bagel sandwich myself. Fast food breakfast sandwich probably would have been better. Wasnt impressed with the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich
Not so happy that I paid almost $2 for bacon on my bagel and this is it. Didnt even taste the bacon. DIY for sure
I had a bacon, egg and cheese bagel. A little skimpy on the toppings, especially considering I ordered extra bacon. The bagel itself was great though! Id probably just get a bagel with cream cheese next time.
Great bagels and service
Good bagel. Got cinnamon but it had hint of garlic and onion.
Best place in town for Bagels
Stopped in for a quick bite on our way out of town, bagels were warm delicious and made fresh quickly and we got some to take home for relatively cheap. I would highly recommend the spreads and schmears offered as they are all made in house and are amazing. We will be visiting again without a doubt.
Real NY style bagels and awesome cream cheese selection.
My bagel was toasted and tasted like it was straight off the fire! Coffee was the best as well from my brother!!💯
Best bagels in the area.
Smells so good! Lots of flavors; egg and bacon breakfast bagel was yummy! Bought assorted 6 to take home. Will come again!
Mediocre and expensive. 1 everything bagel with some cream cheese, almost $4. And it took what seemed like 5 minutes to slice a bagel and spread some cream cheese on it, at 6.15am I was the only one in there. I dont do bagels much, so maybe the price is right, IDK. I wont be going back.
Best bagel in Tampa, Clearwater area. Coffee cant be beat, and the rugulah is superb. Ill pickup the three mentioned items and drive to the beach to enjoy all three as the sun rises to greet the world.
Their bagels are top tier!!! Yum.
Fantastic Bagels. They bring in water from NYC to boil them in before they bake them. Nothing like a true New York style bagel.
Bagels are delicious and fresh, coffee is fresh, but do not order a cappuccino as it not fresh. It is the very sugary kind from one of those machines you see in a hospital cafeteria...unless you like that kind. If that is the case, please disregard the last comment.
Nasty rude staff. Bagels tasted like they were left over from the previous day. Dirty establishment. Go to Einstein across the street.
Excellent experience, social distancing is being practiced. Employees were pleasant and bagels were phenomenal!
Quality of bagels is like no other in the area. cream cheese flavors are fresh with quality ingredients. their nova lox and bagels are amazing! love them!! Just need to add iced tea, call ahead ordering for loyal patrons...please
Annoying, rude guys inside talking loudly over each other. Turns out one was the owner. Didnt take the hint to move out of the way so we could order or pay. Cream cheese was mixed with butter? Maybe to reduce costs? Prices are insane. $3.99 for a bagel w/ non-tasting cream cheese. 2 stars are for a crispy chewy bagel. Other than that, tastier Wawa is right down the road.
The only place for bagels.
Well Im not sure what all the fuss is about certainly not the friendly service. If you gonna sell every day bagels at least be friendly
Their breakfast bagels are delicious. The staff is friendly and they work very quickly.
Great atmosphere and friendly employees. Randy served me today! And you definitely cannot beat the price ;)
Real water bagels. If you know what that means, youll know how much that means. Great rugalach. Closes early. Real local bagel bakeries are fading fast -- too much work, lousy work hours, overwhelming competition from national (inferior) products. Well worth a trip to get the real thing.
I ordered 10$ Worth of items this morning and thought my bagels came with cream cheese, as I never been there before, I guess they did not. Instead of supplying me with a side of cream cheese and explaining a bit, it seem to be a bit much for them. I’ll buy my bagels else where and will never return.....
Must be great bagels. Unfortunately, with Covid, the line was out the door. And no way to call ahead or order online
Best bagels in tampa area
THE BEST BAGELS IN PINELLAS COUNTY. If that doesn’t get your attention then I don’t know what will. I love this place.
I could care less the size of the bagels. I just ate a sesame with scallion cream cheese. Crispy, crunchy, soft inside. Dark not raw. Made me feel like I’m back home. Closest you’re gonna get to a NY bagel away from home. I left there at 6:20 am with a warm bag of bagels. Good stuff I might eat another right now just because. No joke.
The best locally owned bagel shop, opens early, friendly. Great coffee and bagels. Crispy outer shell, soft inside, tasty, can Chew them easily, their pigs n everything bagel blanket 😋, homemade rugelach oh my !!
I have been coming here for many years since I was a child, and my grandfather used to come here almost every weekend before he passed away. These bagels have become a tradition for our family, every Christmas Day we eat their bagels for breakfast and it brings back the memories we had when we ate them every Sunday when I was a child. Best bagels Ive ever had, and always will be.
Ok this is the best bagel I have had anywhere in Pinellas County and beyond. No frills bagel shop with coffee, lox, specialty cream cheese, bagel dogs, couple pastries. Everything is to go. Staff is helpful but busy getting orders out the door. No seating, very little standing area. Decide what you want while in line. Its easy everything is on the other side of the glass. I have been going to this shop for 27 years. I dont live near here but stop every time I am close. If you are picky about bagels or just appreciate a good one then try this place. The only thing you might regret is you didnt buy more or wish you lived closer.
Great bagels. Nice variety of cream cheese flavor. Friendly staff.
Delicious! I got an everything bagel with cream cheese and I was surprised as to how fresh the bagel and cream cheese tasted.
Best bagels in town. Go here. You wont regret it.
Not impressed with Clearwater Bagels, being from NY they certainly did not meet my expectations. However I will say that the homemade Rugelah is OUTSTANDING and if I lived closer I would frequent them just for the Rugelah but for bagels I will go elsewhere. If you are anywhere near Tampa, go to Bagels Plus!!
Been going here for about 20 years now (since I was a little kid), and its still just as good! It is more expensive than most other places around here but MAN is it good. Not just their bagels, but their coffee, their ruguleah... everything weve tried there has been outstanding. Their bagel dogs are out of this world, and their cream cheese flavors are always amazing.
Awesome bagels
Great bagels
Not New York, not Montreal but the best we have found on the Gulf Coast.
Best bagels around. Quality shop, you can tell they care about the product they sell. Bagels are crispy on the outside, soft perfect consistency on the inside. 3 Michelin stars, worth a special journey.
Bacon egg and cheese had 0 flavor. Do yourself a favor and hit the McDonalds across the street. The eggs are grey and the bacon taste like its microwaved.
A little pricier than back home . But coffee is perfect and Im never disappointed. Great bagels always fresh
Authentic bagels made the wright way, fresh even the next day
Best bagels in the state. Great service. Just like bagels from NY. Highly recommend
Bagels were good but quite small. Very overpriced. $3.99 for a bagel with cream cheese is quite a lot. I get that theyre homemade but other independent bagel companies in the Bay area charge much less. It is strictly a take out place. Overall they are alright bagels just not worth it.
Best real bagels Ive ever had, been going for over 30 yrs.
Great homemade or mom and pops bagels. Well priced. Good variety and customer service.
These are the best bagels in Clearwater not cakey like Einsteins crusty with a soft Centre
Not from New York, but I hear these bagels are as close as you can get! I just know they are delicious!
Loved it, need to keep going back to find my flavor.
Great bagels just like the bagels from up north. I make the bagel run from St .Petersburg just to have these delicious delights. The cream cheese that they sell is the best to accompany the bagels. Make the trip its worthy it. Enjoy!
