Great food. Great vibes. Great breakfast. Thats all we order, but Im sure everything else is good too. They actually have good gravy which can ve hit or miss in Central KY.
I must say, after seeing the commercial on television about local eateries I was excited about experiencing their food. I ordered my husband and I a Monte Cristo and it was disgusting. I mean absolutely disgusting. My husband said it was like eating grease balls. No, but for real, it was fried too long which in turn absorbed a lot of cooking grease. We took the meat out of the breading and fed it to the dogs. A waist of $28 to say the least. On a lighter note, they had a lot of customers so other items on the menu must be good. Just a horrible first experiencing for me and my husband. Customer service was great.
This was my first time here. It was quiet for a Friday night. The service was good. The food was fine. I ordered the sunshine burrito. It was good not what I expected. I am not someone with a sophisticated pallet but, the food was good and it was a nice atmosphere. I will go again.
The food was excellent, the staff polite and friendly. The place is spotless! Even the outside dining area was really clean. Worth checking out. Would be a great place to dine out with a group.Weather permitting, the outside dining area is really nice. Large portions, so go when youre hungry.I had the chicken and Belgian waffle. Sounds like a odd combination, but it was good.
We were here from Delaware for the races and just happened to run across this place! Excellent!!! Had breakfast and went back the next t day. We were in KY 5 days wish we knew about the diner sooner!!
Out of towners who stumbled on this place. Amazing service and even better food. Everything we tried - burger, sandwich and cheese curds were fresh, well balanced flavor and reasonable portions! Highly recommend!
Food Fun Adventure Saturday took Fat Man Reviews to the Lexington Diner in Lexington, KY. This is a local spot that serves typical diner fare including burgers, sandwiches and breakfast all day.I started with a Diner Delight. This drink was very refreshing, the blueberry vodka comes through very well. The orange juice not overwhelming, but the drink is very sweet, they top it off with Sierra Mist. This was a very well-made drink. We tried the Diner Beer Cheese, it is made with Country Boy Shotgun Wedding beer. The cheese was fluffy and had a weird mouth feel, it had subtle heat and is served with carrots, celery and a pretzel. The pretzel was like a bread stick, and it seemed fresh a little doughy in the middle and not a ton of a crunchy on the outside. For my entrée I tried the Chicken Cordon Blue the chicken was fried well and was crunchy, but it was pretty dry and lacked any flavor. The potatoes tased old, and they were dry as well. The gravy was pasty a little gritty, and again it tasted old. The cheesy garlic okay, but the cheese was sprinkled on top barely melted and there was not much of a garlic taste. The potatoes and the grits were not as hot as I expected them to be either. My fiancé tried the Diner burger. This had lettuce, tomato, cheese and pickles on it. It was okay but tasted almost like a frozen burger and lacked flavor and seasoning over all. The fries under done and a little soggy, but they were seasoned correctly.Lexington Diner offers a full bar, there is no draft beer and there are a few TVs to catch a game on. The outside patio area looks pretty cool, but does not offer any shade except for 3 tables closer to the restaurant. The service was excellent and everyone was super nice. Based on the menu, the restaurant puts a lot of emphasis on breakfast and brunch. The Fat Man says that Lexington Diner is not Fat Man Approved.
Service was good. Diner is nice on the inside. Food was fast, too fast. Ordered a country fried steak dinner. It was prefrozen and microwaved. Upon asking the waitress she confirmed it was not made in house. Sides were the same this places does not make its own food. Wont be returning.
Dropped in for dinner. Was with a group of people. Ordered our food; I got the open-faced ribeye sandwich. The sandwich came out luke warm, very disappointing. Also, we had to wait for over 30 minutes for our food as the restaurant had a staffing issue. They should have told us that before we sat down.
The food is fantastic. You get very generous portions so its hard not to overindulge. Plus there are so many tasty sounding items on the menu you cant help but want to come back to try something else. The staff are also excellent. Weve consistently had the best service. Top notch place, for sure.
We have found some places start off with a bang and slowly fizzle out but Lexington Diner has maintained their quality & quantity of food. One of our favorite places to eat. Good Food, Good Service (Request Trish or Morgan), Outdoor Seating. Some of our favorites: Burger, Grilled Fish, Chicken Tender Salad, Buffalo Chicken Wrap Green Beans, Potato Salad & Specialty Cakes.Update: the Cuban Sandwich is Good too!Biscuits were not my favorite...
It would be nice if they told you they really close at 230 for brunch (kitchen closes). Cant evaluate further because they wouldnt seat me or take an order at 2:26
Food was not bad, my fiancé and I agreed that it was average. We ordered the bacon cheddar tots as an appetizer. They were REALLY GOOD. Highly recommend them.I got the taco salad with beef instead of chicken. The tortilla was very greasy. Other than that, standard ingredients. My fiancé got the KY Bourbon Burger. The meat was very well done. That was his only complaint, but enjoyed it over all.Over all, the facilities seemed clean other than a few fruit flies hovering over our heads. Service was polite!
The food was delicious! They have $5 burgers on Mondays, and they are huge for $5. And I ordered the Kentucky Philly sandwich which was so good. We cleaned our plates, nothing was left! Our waitress was super nice too.
Happened to go on Monday when burgers are just $5. Totally forgot to get a photo of my mushroom gouda burgers, but the rest of the menu looked delicious and very fairly priced. The brunch cocktails are especially alluring. In China, my husband and I had a brunch spot we went to every Saturday; Lexington Diner seems like the closest match to that for us here in ky. Look forward to trying more!
My first time experience was great with good food selections, nice atmosphere, and has a very friendly staff. On my second visit, I found hair in my to go box, leaving me completely disgusted changing my appetite and mindset about going back anytime soon. Although they replaced my meal and apologized, even offering a free meal on my next return it still left a lot of disappointment in the quality control and proper food handling, especially amidst a pandemic. I tried to explain to the manager my experience, but she completely missed the point of what I was saying trying to downplay the situation. The servers and greeters here are really friendly, and the food maybe good, but finding hair in your food container hits differently.
The food was pretty good, lots of options. The location was pretty far off the main highway. Service was below average. The waiter only came back once for waters and didnt check back after we signed the check. Decent food but nothing exceptional and a little pricey
The food was very delicious. Huge potions. Every things was hot and fresh. Micaela was very friendly and very helpful and attentive. We will definitely come back here to eat. I got then hot brown omelet and my husband got the Denver omelet.
Loved the Lexington Diner! We were in town meeting with family and the service was impeccable! I got the Country Clucker and loved every bite of it. Locals in our party commented on how they had one of the best Hot Browns that they had ever had.
Server was very friendly and attentive. Food was good and service was quick once we were seated. There was about a 30 minute wait mainly because of understaffing (a common problem now). Overall its an excellent choice if you are in the mood for diner type food. Well be back.
Our entire dining experience was phenomenal. The Sunday Brunch was absolutely delicious. Everything was prepared and cooked perfectly. Our server, Trish was fantastic. She enhanced our entire dining experience from start to finish. The Bloody Marys and Mimosas were on point. The Country Fried Steak was one of the best we have ever enjoyed. The Gouda Omelet was a mouth watering delight. The portions were incredible. We actually ordered extra Country Fried Steak to take home for our dinner and it was just as good later. Do your self a favor and check out Lexington Diner for yourself. We will certainly be back again and again! I am getting hungry just thinking about it now.
It was awesome. First time there. We got the Kentucky Philly. It was so good bread was soft
They were very nice. The fish was not that good.
Lexington Diner is the place to be! The servings were very generous. The food was delicious. The employees were friendly and the service was quick. They were packed while we were there.
My first time there was brunch during the week. Good service and food was very good. Second visit was Sunday, late morning. I was told by the person at the door to wait a couple of minutes for a specific table, which was already empty. I waited at the bar for about 10 minutes. No one told me the table was ready, so I asked the same person uf I could go ahead and seat myself. I waited there for another 5 or more min and no one came by to give me a menu. I went back to the bar to pay for my coffee. Appeared they were understaffed and not well organized when things are busy and I wont be back.
Tucked into a small strip of stores on a busy street, this place looks humble. You might never try it, and that would be your loss. Here can be found the best onion rings in Lexington, one of the citys best fish dinners ( and now fish sandwiches), and award-winning burgers. It is also one of the best places for breakfast -- served all day. They make all their sauces from scratch, too. Great value, great food, and charming ambiance inside.
I visited for the first time with a friend yesterday and my fries were not hot or fresh .and my drink was flat. Once I reordered fresh fries. You could tell the difference between having fresh fries and some that were sitting under a warming light. I will give this place a try again at a later date. I just dont like paying for food thats isnt fresh or hot!!!!
Our breakfast and cocktails were great. The biscuits and chicken I had were great. The hostess was not welcoming or helpful but the service was fantastic and our server was awesome
I LOVE this place. I just happened to stumble across this place looking for a restaurant and we decided to give it a shot. It is INCREDIBLE. Everytime I would take a bite, I looked at my husband and said I cant even begin to describe how good this tastes. The biscuits, the potatoes, the chicken, the french toast. JUST amazing. And its so nice inside. Really cool atmosphere. Our waiter was super nice and helpful. And it was just a super pleasant experience all around. I highly recommend!
Just ate here to celebrate my moms birthday. I had the KY bourbon Burger and fries. The burger was good, I was expecting more of a bourbon taste in the sauce but overall it was good. Service was great, everything came out in a timely manner and was hot ! I will definitely be visiting because the Philly Omelet was so good !!!!
Tried the Asian Crunch Salad; very satisfying. There are lots of other menu items that look interesting. We will be back.
Food not to bad. The waiter charged me for a side and side was included according to menu. $3.00 that it should have not been charged.
This is the neighborhood diner youve been looking for. Everything weve had is delicious. The chicken tender salad (and the homemade dressing!) and the burgers are great, and the staff at the Diner are good people. If you used to eat at the Diner when it was downtown, its still the same good food -- just with a little more room for tables.
We loved our food! Intimate and cozy, with an updated Lexington feel. The ingredients were excellent, the sides unique and delicious, and the prices were great for the quality. My husband got the BBQ bourbon burger, it was delicious and it had some good heat to it. I got the Jive with chicken. Fresh mozzarella was so good and the chicken was perfect. Staff was friendly and atmosphere comfy. We will be coming back.
Not our first visit but certainly our last. The staff is friendly but whether there are few customers or many the food service is always slow. The food is only average for the above average price. Our taco salads were the exception. They were terrible. The shedded chicken was tasteless (should chicken be grey?), there was only a small dollop of sour cream, avocado and salsa. (Avoid their strange honey mustard dressing). The worst thing about the visit is that the health and safety policy description here is not followed. There is no signage stating mask requirements nor is the staff 100% masked. The hostess was not. I’m finished with restaurants that do not take the cdc and state mask guidance seriously. Not worth getting sick for great or mediocre food.
My friend and I went to Lexington diner for the first time last week and we had an excellent experience. Both our meals were cooked well, hot and served in a very timely manner. The portions were perfect and the prices were very fair. Our server was attentive and friendly. Very good first experience and will definitely head back as the menu was very diverse.
Excellent food. We got the Hot Brown Omelet and the Caprese Omelet and they were delicious. The sweet tea had an odd taste to it but the server replaced it with a soda on request.
Wide variety of tasty food on the menu. Prices are reasonable. Very innovative drink menu with local connections.
My sister and I went to Lexington diner for the first time last week and we had an excellent experience. Both our meals were cooked well, hot and served in a very timely manner. The portions were perfect and the prices were very fair. Our server was attentive and friendly.
Was our first visit here. I have to say if you are able to go there it is a must. The nachos were awesome. The food was very tasty and well presented. The beef tips and bean casserole went well with my Kentucky mule. My wife had the steak and eggs and they were delicious. We got to meet three of the staff member on our visit and they were awesome. AJ, Rain and Chief Chucky. We will be back.
Great food and great service! We were told there would be a 15 minute wait which turned in to 2...yes 2. We had a small child with us and they brought his food first which gave the parents time to feed him and then be able to enjoy their own meals. Hot Brown, chicken and waffles, lemmon berry French toast and breakfast burrito were all delicious. So was the Hawaiian mimosa and peach bellini.
Great atmosphere, food was alright. Seems a little pricey for the quality of the food. Id say if they got their food dialed in it would be an awesome place.
My partner and I were there for a brunch reservation for 2pm on 4/11/21. We were seated immediately but waited 20 minutes for our drink order to be taken at which time we were informed they were out of Pepsi. These things happen from time to time but it was still frustrating. We also placed our food order at that time since we had ample time to peruse the menu. About 15-20 minutes after we ordered our food we were informed that they were out of sausage. Not sure why we weren’t informed sooner. Overall, a very negative experience.Everyone was seated pretty close together and I highly doubt they were operating at 60% capacity as all of the tables were full. This visit was super disappointing because we have had very good experiences in the past.Based on this visit I doubt we will return.
Found this place from food network.Loaded nachos, delicious, breakfast delicious. The drinks were the bomb
Great place to hang out with friends and enjoy your self with whatever you like to eat
Never a bad meal and always great service.
Great food, ok service.. Service reduced 1 star
Casual atmosphere, breakfast all day, brunch cocktails, comfort foods, friendly staff. Whats not to love?
Just go. No question. Food is amazing. You will not be disappointed.
Great omelets and other brunch fare. Waitress Trish is our favorite!
Generous portions!! Good, homemade with love food. Definitely a must have! I had the Monte Crisco and it was amazing.
We found this place by accident while heading to the Bluegrass Train Museum, it was so good. Handmade food and a beautiful patio. We will definitely recommend and be back soon. Monte Cristo was where it was at.
Ate a delicious Kentucky Philly! Was very clean, great music, good service.
Always good food and service every time we stop in.
We had burgers. My boyfriend got the beef and his was good. I had the black beans and it was super dry. Food is decent, restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly.
The food was a little slow getting to the table BUT it was worth the wait! The cook was not stingy in the ingredients for our Omlette, the toast was thick and delicious, and the fruit was juicy/cold! I wouldve given a 5 star rating if not for the length of time we waited for the food! Server was great and personable!
We were looking for Breakfast. Found it! Lexington Diner was great from food to service! We will be back!
Nice place, sat on the patio had a great BLT and some cheese grits. Michelle my server was fantastic. Check it out
The atmosphere is wonderful, staff is friendly, and food is phenomenal! We will be having our monthly brunch dates here very often.
Good food. Great atmosphere. Will come back again.
One of the best places to eat in the entire town. Simple but delish.
Had dinner here for the first time and it was a good experience. I ordered the open face ribeye with gravy and it was delicious and a very big portion. The atmosphere was nice and the service was good as well.
Super good food. We will be back! The staff is super nice as well!!
Aways great food and service. Great value also . You never leave hungry for a good price. Highly recommended.
My fiance and I went to Lexington diner for the first time last week and we had an excellent experience. Both our meals were cooked well, hot and served in a very timely manner. The portions were perfect and the prices were very fair. Our server was attentive and friendly. Very good first experience and will definitely head back as the menu was very diverse.
Love the ambience and the customer service! The omelets amazing and the bloody mary on point!
Excellent food, fair pricing (especially considering the serving sizes!), and friendly waitstaff. My favorite is the Country Clucker breakfast! So good!
Great brunch! The service was excellent! The food was pretty good and had a wide variety. Would definitely recommend for a good brunch spot. The main difference now is Coronavirus season and keeping us all from being able to enjoy a sit down experience. Nonetheless, I ordered a steak and eggs, and the chicken wings in the Carolina gold sauce.
Nice little hole in the wall local place. Service was a bit slow, but a varied menu.
The food was very tasty. The bloody Marys were superb and Trish was the best server!
Thought wed try something new. There was a 30 minute wait at 10:30am and several available tables. Restaurants are allowed to be at full capacity, but I guess they didnt get the memo.
Loved trying different places when I visit Lexington. This is on the list of must visits again
Love it. Delightful ladies at the bar.
Service and staff was good, A+.
Me and my family came here to eat one night. We came on a Wednesday so of course they werent as busy. We get inside and waited 5-10 minutes for a table due to them having to clean the tables. Me and my family sit down, order and get so engaged in conversation that I didnt realize what was going on around me. Me and my mixed race party of 4 had been placed in the back of the restaurant almost right next to the restroom. Along with another mixed race party of 4 meanwhile their were numerous booths and tables open. Even if I have never felt so racial discriminated against in my life. Nor will I ever eat at this location again.
Staff were great, and so was the food
I have tried almost every breakfast restaurant in Lexington and this is by far the best one. The menu is very extensive and it is rarely crowded. I was apprehensive about this place at first because it just didnt seem like it would be good, but it went so far above my expectations. I usually get the breakfast burrito or the avocado toast
Went here the other day and picked up brunch for my pregnant girl friend. She absolutely loved the country clucker. It was very tasty and fresh. I cant wait to try again when she isnt in the hospital.
Bad experience on a Saturday night. Clearly uncoordinated. Food piled up at the kitchen window and few people were running it. Bar tender was our sever and had too much going on. Food was good but took way too long for 50% capacity. May try again in the future but this was not a good experience.
We really enjoyed our meal. Husband had the BLT, I had the Monte Cristo. Both were excellent 👌. The monte was full of meat and cheese and the dipping sauce was tasty. Service was great.
So good! Never had anything that wasnt good here!
I had the chicken and waffles and it was great
