The menu was excellent, many of the dishes sounded delicious and enjoyable. I ordered the chorizo hash benedict and my sister got the steak and eggs but benedict style, because yes that is a ππΌ of a topping. Although these dishes sound rich and hearty, they were all that but super satisfying. This meal gave me a burst of energy that I honestly felt I could do anything and everything. Worked out well as this was my errand day. I wish I was able to enjoy a desert or the pancakes as their selection sounded scrumptious. The service was not the greatest but I imagine it was due to them being slammed with orders or short staffed. It definitely wasnt a deal breaker to coming here and enjoying the unique menu. NJ being one of the states with long lasting diners, this spot is unique and you should really come and try one of their benedicts or desert. I would suggest the cheesecake, so fluffy and indulgent.
This place has been updated since the last time I was there which was quite a few years ago. Everything is neat as a pin. The menu is extensive and the food is very good. And the service is tremendous. I enjoyed my experience very much and Im sure someone that went there as well, would experience the same thing as I did
I had rated 5 stars. Lowered it down to 3.This place used to be amazing. Perhaps not the fanciest but had excellent food. Their corned beef hash has been getting worse and worse over the years. They slowly started mixing in canned stuff with their home made. Now its just entirely canned. You can just get a $2 can of it from the super market and have yourself the same meal.Otherwise the rest was acceptable. The coffee was clearly kept on a hot plate instead of made fresh. Eggs were done well.
I obviously canβt stay away from diners for some reason?? But they keep on making points! South Jersey literally could never π! Anyways I went to Tick Tock Diner and got their NY Strip w/ mashed potatoes & broccoli! It was sooo good!! The steak was juicy (peep the plate)! Would def go again! The atmosphere was great and my waitress was super sweet!Follow my ig more more reviews! @whatkatyjustate
This Diner Management has responded toCovid by the Interior Remodeling. It looksGood and the Lobster Soup,Spinanch andWings are Excellent!
I arrived close to 11am on a Tuesday 8/11/2020 morning and there were very few people, a plus! Lots of parking and handicap access ππ»Tables were safely distanced, never felt crowded. The male host was courteous but the server caught my attention. The older lady that served my plate was such a sweetheart, loved her welcoming vibe. She commented on how delicious my breakfast looked which made me even enjoy it more. Loved my food, yeah it was a bit pricey but I really enjoyed my meal. Credit card payment was a quick transactions. I would visit again just to see the older lady again, welcoming facial expression attracts business!
This is not a Greek run diner. They call home fries shredded potatoes. The shredded potatoes taste like they season it with Adobo. The waiter never asked me if I wanted more coffee. The waiter asked me if I liked the home fries, I said no, he smiled and walked away. The bus boy reached over my food without asking me to grab a plate and gave me a dirty look. What a disaster. The total was $29.95, for a grilled cheese, a BLT, a order of home fries and two coffees. Also the coffee taste horrible, I would bet its not American. Im Hispanic I know what Bustelo taste like. Never again, dont go you will regret it.
Massive portions and super quick service. Totally worth whatever it costs. Everything we had tastes great. You have to try the great balls of fire mac and cheese balls.
They give you a lot of food for a wonderful price. My salad was great! And my turkey burger was the best Id ever had from a restaurant π
The legend. Great atmosphere. Fresh food.
I havenβt been to Tick Tock in years because itβs not close by. But I was in that neighborhood and stopped in. It was great. I had the California wrap and my husband had the fish and chips. Everything was fresh and perfectly prepared. Service was prompt and friendly. The diner was spotless. I wish you guys would take over the diner in my town. But then again if you did I would be about 2 sizes larger.
Food is good, and people know it: it is usually crowded. The level of noise is annoying, but service is fast: in and out.
Always heard of this Diner but had never been. We realized we were in the neighborhood and decided to stop in, and we werent disappointed. The food was great and the service was excellent!
This place has been around forever. Used to dine here all the time 30 years ago. We are back in the area again and stopped by for lunch. Our server was great! Food was OK. Triple decker turkey sandwiches have definitely gotten a whole lot smaller. Price pretty high.
We know this place for many years.i havent been there for a while.It. was refreshing been there I love the breakfast no matter what time you asked for it.Its always fresh and delicious, with excellent services and friendly workers and polite.Enjoyed .GREAT place.loved.
Food was good.. The dinner was very loud for a Sunday brunch.. But we still enjoyed our meal
This diner has great selection of food, awesome employees and large portions of food. Just had a meal here Everytime I have been here and seems like it gets better each visit. The wait staff treat you like friends and you really cant ask for more than that.
I was there with my brother, hi was in vacation in USA, and then He said the place is very good, like food, servicies,. There is always busy place, but you dont have to wait to much time.
Regular average diner.... I know it has been featured on shows and lists, but I didnt see any reason why. Many NJ towns have similar diners. Some better, some worse... although this one was definitely a bit more pricey. We had 5 different meals and all were just fine. Clean and absolutely nothing wrong with this place though, just ok. Sorry π
The Mick jagger! So good.
Awesome diner! We stopped for breakfast. Only thing keeping from a 5* is the place where we sat had a really bad reflection off a car into our eyes. We asked our waiter if he could pull the blind down and his comment was sorry, there are people sitting in the booth.... Perhaps those people would not have minded if he just asked if he could pull the blind down?
The location was ideal and convenient. The service was exceptional, especially with finding a piece of hair under my Avocado toast. Once I mentioned it to my server the food was quickly replaced with another. The price was fair for that, however when my bf purchased a breakfast selection we were not aware that everything else would be priced Al la cart. $2.95 for toast, $2.95 for bacon $8.95 for two sunny up eggs, $4.95 for pancakes. Our bill with his food and mine and two coffee and orange juice, two different sizes, one small and one large came to $45.00Now I am a local NJ resident I have never in all my time going to a diner $45.and change on two breakfast choices.Needless to say I will not be returning I dont know if its you know the unrealistic prices or the hair in my food but Ill let you leave this decision maker and to be honest the food wasnt even that exceptional my avocado toast was burnt the avocados portion was exceptionally delicious I will say that over again getting hair in my food is definitely a big turn off and drinking burnt coffee was not my idea of a delicious cup of coffee. Again I will let you make your decision and I will however not be returning to The tick tock diner even if a famous actor stated it was delicious sorry not sorry your food is not delicious.
Good place, stopped in for breakfast and had the Chorizo Hash. I would come back here again.
Still fabulous! Menu isnt as big as a phone book any more, but everything on it is great, and the service is first class.
Would give 0 stars if possible. Were given the wrong order, which one of our group literally choked on. Waitress did ask if wed like a box for it after. You would think it would be impossible to give a bad review to a NJ diner, but there are firsts for everything.
Newly renovated with a greatly simplified menu (in a great way). The true New Jersey diner experience.
Havenβt been here since I moved from NJ to FL. Still delicious. Iβd forgotten how many options they had to choose from. Probably the best mozzarella sticks Iβve ever had. A TRUE club sandwich. My daughter had the buffalo chicken wrap - when she took her fist bite she said this is what they are supposed to taste like. All desserts made on the premises. Good food with a NJ attitude lol.
Oh man....this is a classic Jersey diner I have been to many times in the past but as of 9/4/21 stay away. My friend and I went wanting a great tasting breakfast and left wondering what the hell happened to this place. A limited paper menu instead of the plastic laminated menus full of options. We ordered coffee which came in milk urns full of coffee grounds. The waiter looked and acted like he was completely annoyed he had to be a waiter. The breakfast dishes tasted like they were reheated and no seasoning whatsover. Very disappointing overall.
This diner is awesome! Great food! Great service! Great desserts! They have a lot of award plaques hanging on the walls. Only one way to get all those, by doing it right!
Really enjoyed the eggs benedict that came with home fries. Not the cheapest but I still thought it was worth the $16.
Great food surprisingly fast service despite heavy volume. Steak & Bennys are amazing but a little pricey.
Not happy with the service. Long wait to get ordered, no water or beverage brought in until food arrives, server not friendly at all. Can definitely improve service and overall experience. Did not feel like a diner but a fast food joint without the same fastness.
Not sure what all the fanfare was about. The fries were ok, nothing special. The burger was bland and tasted like it was sitting around for a while. The pastrami was tasty though. We sent back the chicken soup, it was cold and had a very sour taste to it. And to make it worse, they have cheap ketchup... dont waste your time or money
I really cant stand the new menu. Soooo many things cut out or changed. The place was dead and yet service was sloww Its so sad. I used to love that place.
Ruben was 9/10 and I have very high standards for Rubens. Cubano was 8/10 also. Service was friendly and place was exceptionally clean. Will return :)
Our waitress was hilarious, quick and great to talk to. Our food was great too! Glad we stopped to check it out. It was also very very clean.
Food was delicious, however, our waiter didnt seem like he wanted to be there.
The tunnel was flooded and traffic was backed up so we pulled into this 24 hour dinner to find that we had 2 minutes to make a to go order. The building is a cute 1950s themed establishment. The man inside sounded like Al Pacino in The Godfather. Food was okay.
I dont know whats happing in this dinner. My fries are cold and dry.. I dont know how that happened and blt was awful. How do you mess a BLT up? The waitress stacked our food on top of each other and served it to us. Never going back. Lesson learned
Limited menu but everything is done extremely well. One of my favorite spots
We had a late breakfast early lunch today and the food was delicious, large portions and the waitress, Rosemary was great.
Food was mostly disappointing, some appetizers were ok but no one in our group even got close to finishing the mains. Burgers were well below average. Upsetting because there are so many great diners in Jersey, all this one has going for it is a cool retro look.
Disco Fries, get them! I have also seen some famous people here: Jon Stewart, Tom Hanks, Little Steven, and Hulk Hogan.
I came to order some pancakes and you canβt get gluten-free pancakes and you canβt get real maple syrup - even if you got the regular pancakes! In this day and age thatβs insane - but they still offer horrid Smuckers corn syrup for your pancakes. Gross.
Their sign outside says open 24 hours but apparently they close at 10 pm. I walked through the door and the older gentleman was so cold, he says βclosed closedβ. Instead of making you feel welcome by saying, βmy apologies we close early.β Learn how to speak to customers, you shouldnβt be turning away money.
Used to go to this place as a child and its still the same wholesome, family friendly diner that I remember. The food is still amazing. Took my husband for the first time and he was amazed by it to the point that we went there twice in a row(mind you, he is a picky eater). Cant wait to visit again.
Love this diner. Good food and great service in a pleasant atmosphere.
Things have changed with the Tick Tock Diner and not for the better. My wife and I went for lunch. We both ordered a lunch special. It came with soup and dessert. The waitress told us what soups were available and we both ordered a soup. It took a good 10 to 15 minutes for her to bring the soups. Unacceptable. The diner was not busy. After finishing our meal we waited awhile with no waitress in sight. Finally we got a container for the leftovers. The waitress disappears again without leaving a check. When I received the check there was a charge for one of the soups. When I mentioned it to the host he said the one soup did not come with the special even though the waitress told us at the beginning. Also they were going to let us leave without the desserts.
Stopped in for some late night dessert. We were craving a warm brownie sundae, so we ordered the brownie a la mode.Unfortunately, the brownie had nuts in it, which wasnβt advertised. This should be highlighted clearly on the menu and by the server so that those who donβt like nuts, or who are allergic, can order something better. My boyfriend doesnβt eat nuts, but we tried to scoop around them. The brownie itself was rather strange. It was very mushy and was more like mud than a brownie. It was warm and it did have ice cream, but it was a let down.
Love love our Tick Tock Dinner they never disappoint. Great steak and eggs.
With its classic retro diner styling, the Tick Tock Diner is a Clifton, NJ landmark! My family and I love to eat at Tick Tock. There is plenty of seating, the atmosphere is pleasant, service is fast and the food is delicious. The menu is extensive. Talk about convenience... The Tick Tock never closes. A visit to Clifton is not complete without a stop at the Tick Tock!
There are good diners and great diners. At the latter, hell everything on the menu is stellar and worth the stop to mangia! (Actually, in my experience, lots of the great diners are run by Greek folks! ΞΟ ΟΞ±ΟΞΉΟΟΟ [thank you]).None of that applies to this fraud of a diner. Blah (is there an adjective more demeaning than blah? Meh?) food. Carelessly and unappetizingly prepared and presented. And who the hell ever heard of a NJ diner with a one page paper menu. Where are the options, the choices, the difficult decisions between this great looking dish or that? Not here. At Tick Tock the option is to avoid coming in, the choice is to eat elsewhere, and the decision is that had Tony Soprano lived longer the food at the Tick would have bored him to death.Avoid it... Jersey has too many great diners to allow TV nostalgia to draw you to this trash can.
Food was delicious and served quickly. Wait staff was super friendly.
Great diner and staff.. I would go back
Bright and cheery diner with friendly staff and good food served quick.
Excellent food! Although Service was gracious and helpful at the beginning, needs to follow up at the end...I left good tip nevertheless..
This morning Breakfast two Eggs over East And U Ask fo patties Sausage And the gave me the toast were Hard The coffee was waterAnd my Granddaughter order roast beef And. I pay 32.Im So sorry to Said it was nasty The roast beef burn ok I will never goback
Tick - Tock has the right idea and perfectly stationed right off state highway route 3.Great food, friendly environment with staff and patrons. I recommend this establishment to be part of your daily routine before heading out to do your errands.Thank you.
Took home dessert. Food was good. Like everyone else not enough of help.
Good food. A bit pricer than normal but thats the price of convenience. The bio security is well done. So you comfortably dine in.
Awesome food. Great staff
No TikTok content creators when I visited. Also, they wonβt stop working to join in with your dances for TikTok. Like why name yourself after the app if youβre not going to cater to its audience??!?!? Such a disappointment
Loaded breakfast fries. Thats all you need to know.
Really amazing diner..food was top notch ππ
Very good place to eat, their coffee is always good and strong and the omelets are greats
Earlier today i had went out to grab breakfast with my husband and son after renovations have been completed for awhile . I only have two IMPORTANT things to say is that the diner should have stayed or kept its original coziness that it has had for a long time and menu should have stayed the same . Breakfast was very disappointing especially for the total COST of it . I believe $40 for one small amount of chicken and waffle and 3 small french toast is not worth the price especially $4.50 for a large orange juice and small $3.50 one . Not the best orange juice to cost that amount ! Menu selection is very poor and whoever sat down and decided on them was clearly not thinking of the customers . whoever decided on the renovation design and menu selection needs to get fired or simply not given a raise .
Always love this place! Great food, great prices, and great service!
Love to go eat at Tick Tock Diner. Food is better than before the new look is amazing its better. Great place & staff is friendly, service is quick.
Good diner! Pleasantly renovated recently.
Great diner long time classic recently updated. Great food and service.
Havent been in 30 years. Fresh hit coffee in the middle of the afternoon. We ordered grilled cheese sandwiches and fries with brown gravy. Friendly waitstaff and exceptionally clean. Will stop again when in the area.
Donβt get the βFrench toast Nutellaβ. They just slabbed some Nutella and bananas in between two slices of bread like a bologna sandwich. The bread just tasted like toast; nothing French about it. Lacked creativity.
Costumer service was top notchFood was even betterThank you Tick Tock diner
Food isnt as good as it used to be. Prices went up, portion size went down. After the renovations they claimed to have a new and very well known chef. If this is the food a well known chef puts out, Id like to see his credentials. Service was ok, but wasnt the servers fault. He had way too many tables to be able to do any better. I wouldnt drive out of my way to eat here. I was in the area on a Sunday night. Not much else was open.
Horribly disappointed!! I went with my dad for Fatherβs Day. I ordered the chorizo eggs benedict. It was nothing like described in menu. No avocado, which was one of the reasons I ordered it, barely any hollandaise sauce, just bad. For a diner they had very limited breakfast items. Service was also terrible. We had to wait 45 minutes to get our check. We couldnβt even find a waiter to flag them down. I wonβt go back.
Nice looking place; the food was good; service could of been better
I had an amazing ground bacon and beef burger. Everyone loved their selections. Outdoor dining available. Wish it were closer, it would be a goto at least once a week. We took some cheesecake home. Next time Ill get more than one slice. One of our party said hes been going there for years and has never had a bad meal. Well be back!
Terrible food.Turkey was dryCole slaw was drenched in mayo vinegarFrench fries were hard and cold.
Enjoyed their gyro! Been here twice, and wasnt disappointed either time.
Always lots of delicious food and the cheesecake always super yummy!!!
