Such a great place to grab a milkshake!!! Or a quick bite to eat. Hot dogs are scrumptious! My dog LOVES to go to scotties because he knows hes gonna get his FREE pup cup!!!! We also brought one of his friends for a treat too!!!!!

This is a covid 19 takeout review. All food is eaten fresh in the car. I had the mac n cheese bites, chili cheese fries, and bacon Cheeseburger. The bites were similar to any of these types of places. Frozen and heated up, they are OK but nothing special. The fries were decent, chili not so much. The burger was quite good, juicy with a char, and a very nice flavor. The girls that took care of me were exceptionally pleasant and upbeat. On a scale of 0-10 this rates a 6.1.

A lot of variety in a no frills setting. Colchester has baby destinations for ice cream but to my knowledge only one spot for custard! (Think very rich and creamy soft-serve). I had the banana and my cousin had the cake batter.... Both were excellent!

This place recently changed hands. These comments apply to visits prior to the sale. Great place to get delicious frozen custard and love their foot long dogs. They come on a toasted bun. Also have great sweet potato fries and onion rings.

Very pricey ice cream, in my opinion. $6 for a medium sugar cone. Be aware, if you order a cone, its soft serve. That was disappointing for myself and my grandson. Ive had their food before as well. Pricing on non ice cream is pretty reasonable, and the food is about a b+ in my opinion. Its close to my home, nice outdoor seating area at well kept and clean, covered picnic tables, with sun covering and lights at night.

I love Scottys Frozen Custard. All the flavor choices are great. Theres a nice area to enjoy your ice cream after you order it.

I called in to place an order today from the center of Moodus. Was asked to wait on hold for one minute . I waited on hold for close to 20 minutes. Without any acknowledgment. We got all the way to the restaurant, stood in line for 8 minutes and finally placed an order. When we told the kid at the window we were already on hold for 20 minutes to place an order he could care less. They didn’t even acknowledge or care that we had drove one town over and were on hold for over 20 minutes trying to order. Finally we placed our order in person and then it took another 15 minutes to get the food. We asked for chicken tenders with fries as one of our items. We didn’t get the fries. When we asked about them they said we had to get back in the line to order the fries. So apparently we either have to eat our warm food while we stand in the line to get what we ordered or we have to get in the line order the fries while the rest of our food gets cold. They also didn’t have the sauces. Terrible experience. I will not come back and I will be sure to let others know about the horrible experience. Scotties used to care about their customers but not anymore. Not worth the money or the hassle.

This is an excellent little stand to grab a fresh made cheeseburgers, french fries and onion rings. I ran out of room to try their ice cream. Maybe I will next time.

After a day at the lake, we stumbled across Scotties Frozen Custard. We loved it! The creamy and richness of the custard was out of this world. I wish it was in a more diverse area. It sucks being looked at like a dinosaur based on the color of your skin. I was brought up not to see color, but I realize thats not everyones lesson in life. I struggled writing this post because I believe the food and experience go hand in hand. The turtle signature sundae was great, but was a little heavy on the pecans.

Grade road side Summer restaurant. There hotdogs and hamburgers are delicious and the soft serve icecream is delicious. They make their own waffle cones and the portions are generous.

Food was great. Most of their custard is soft serve, except for vanilla and chocolate.

Never had custard and a friend took me there. Very yummy!

Their bubble gum ice cream is the best bubble gum flavor ive had...and ive had a lot of ice cream.

Scotties continues to satisfy my cravings. There are a half dozen different foot long hot dogs to try and a bunch of different hand made ice cream flavors. I highly recommend giving the Sea Dog a try if you like seafood. Pair it with some Mac and cheese bites and you have a delicious meal!

We just had the frozen custard but the menu looks rather extension. The custard was great and there are numerous flavors to choose from... we will be back

Frozen custard in over 40 flavors PLUS the flavor of the day AND friendly service with a smile, what could be better? Oh yeah perhaps their giant Oreo Icecream Sandwiches or their awesome eggplant fries...

The pumpkin Custard is absolutely amazing!!! For being a very slow day, service was surprisingly slow. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves.

I love Custard ice cream and I love the flavors at Scotties. Its so thick and creamy and seriously makes your belly smile. Always friendly and love they have not just custard but food too. Yummy in both ways. I love its close too. A yummy treat right in town! Love Blueberry ❤️ love they have an outside eating area so you dont have to make a mess in your car.

Also serve burgers (including veggie), hot dogs (including chili), fries (including sweet potato), chicken sandwiches and clam strips. Nice picnic bench seating area with covering for shade and lights for nighttime.

This was my first time here and I really enjoyed the quality and taste of the food. The prices are very reasonable and their selection of frozen custard is amazing. The seating outside is great, but here is a tip as I watched people order. If you call ahead you can get to go orders and you wont have to wait in line. This is great for busy times of day.

Literally the best burgers and milkshakes Ive ever had. The fries are well made and salted and the servers are polite and respectful. They take credit cards so you dont have to carry cash here and their ice cream is very smooth and their milkshakes are thick, but not too thick to get through the straw. Onion rings are very well made and shaded outdoor seating is provided.

We were happily surprised by how affordable their food is. We went here during the COVID shutdown and they had the ordering process down to a science ( many places did not ). Will be adding them to our places that we visit regularly after the pandemic crisis is over.

The custard is fantastic. Flavor of the day is always top notch. Burgers and chicken sandwiches are our favorite... and they never disappoint. We love this place much much much much better than Harrys. Far less crowded...and the flavor and portions are well worth the 5 minute ride from center of colchester.

This is really for the frozen custard. I find the food is similar to Harrys which in itself has never impressed me a great deal. However, the desserts here are slamming good. The chocolate chip cookie dough blast is just....so good. It is my favorite dessert of the summer.

Only got the custard here but it was fantastic! Got the Peanut butter flavor and it was actually a good strong PB taste not a watered down or chemically taste! Super impressed! Only thing is the menu is a little confusing, but just takes a little reading!

Yummy in the tummy chili dogs, chicken sandwiches, hamburgers, fries..gosh everything is incredibly good. Then dont forgot ice cream. People here have friendly smiles and make you feel so welcome

I only tried their frozen Custard today. It was Delicious! I will go back soon to try their fries. Nice outside dining area with picnic tables and shade. Plenty of parking easy to get in and out of.

With great burgers, fries, and more flavors of frozen custard than you can count, Scotties Frozen Custard is one of the best dining establishments the area has to offer. The staff is friendly, the food is made quickly, and there are plenty of picnic tables at which to enjoy your meal.I recommend trying the flavor of the day, whatever it is. Ive yet to be disappointed.

First time here and definitely not the last. I had the special rice krispies treat custard and my husband was tired of having to listen to me telling him how awesome it was!!!! So freaking delicious!!!! Will be back to try another flavor, again, and again !

My wife and I make sure we go there several times when they are open. They are seasonal and open in the summer. They closing October 1st. They serve frozen custard as well as hamburgers and hot dogs. Everything they have is worth the trip.

Delicous custard and a decent sized area to sit in the shade as well as some lawn area for the picnicking types. Somewhat pricey and worth it! And the chili dogs looked delicious too!

Love this custard. Hands down super thick and flavorful. Love the Creme de Menthe, but all flavors worth trying. Seasonal flavors like pumpkin are especially tasty.

You ever have those family reunions where crazy uncle steve is standing at the grill, making fantastic burgers and hot dogs, but keeps spouting his political opinions? But his burgers are too good so you dont offend him and you let him talk, despite how uncomfortable hes making everybody? Well, if you head to this place, you get the same quality, without the awkwardness. Its well worth going out of your way for.

The ice cream is delicious however this is the second bad experience Ive had with the staff. When I ordered two scoops of different flavors in the same cup I was informed You cant do that. The server said that they mix the ice cream using a machine and that she could mix the two flavors together to make one cup of ice cream but could not do the two separate flavors. VERY odd for an ice cream place to not allow you to have two different flavors in one cup. I ended up ordering one flavor and then decided to go back and ask for the second one in another cup, unfortunately I got the same server who gave me a cup that was half the size of the first one...so good ice cream but you have to put up with the bad service to get it.

The flavored custard was horrible. Tasted like syrup.

The frozen custard here has higher butterfat than regular soft serve ice cream so it fills you up quicker ..the flavors are added to the frozen custard upon ordering so you get a treat made to order that is unique into itself...frozen custard like that from Wisconsin...Americas Dairyland!

Normally I would give them a 5 star review and say something like Pick this place over Harrys every time or something like that. However the past 3 times we have gone they seem to have their inbred workers that night and continually mix the sprinkles into the Frozen Custard when specifically asked not due to a sensory processing disorder...

If youve never tried frozen custard, do yourself a favor and stop by Scotties for some! Their flavor of the day never disappoints - they post them on their Facebook page and website. The Fat Elvis is one of my favorite combos they do and you can make it even when its not the flavor of the day! Its banana custard (think lightly flavored so its not over powering) then you get peanut butter and chocolate shavings on it- stop it right?! A-mazing! They also have burgers and other tasty treats if you decide to make an evening out of it- totally recommend that too!!

Scotties food is far superior to harrys and the prices are incredibly reasonable. The portions are bountiful and the staff are very friendly. The frozen custard is amazing. I would go more often if it werent for the hours and out-of-the-way location.
