I ran all over town looking for a Boston valve for my tube with no luck. I was referred to West Marine from another store. I was told by (presumably) the owner/manager that he just sold the last one but that he may have one laying around in the back that I could have. Indeed he did. And it fit. I will be returning for further business. Thanks so much!

The folks were very friendly and I enjoyed talking with them. There were a lot empty displays as stock level was low. High-traffic area (Horribleson Blvd) where everyone waves at you, but without all their fingers extended... I always try to avoid this area if possible.

Their products are way overpriced something as simple as seat cleaner is $15 that sells for $3.95 at Walmart

This place is outrageously over priced on their items. We went in picked up one pack of 2 pins to hold a Bimini Top on a boat. Got to the register and paid $28.67 for 2. My husband came out and said he’d never shop there again. I asked why and he told me the price. I asked him to take them back in and get our money back. While he did that I looked online and got 2 for $9.00 and free shipping.. I love to shop local, see what I’m getting and support local ... but this is ridiculous... BTW, the ones that came in the mail were nicer than the ones in West Marine...

I’ve been to this place a few times recently. They need to teach their employees the meaning of “service with a smile”. It seems that the people who work here are always grumpy and not too friendly. I only shop here if I have to have something in an emergency for a customers boat. It’s people in stores like this that make others purchase from the web or somewhere else. I would advise anyone needing boating supplies to buy elsewhere if you are not needing them immediately!!

Never again will I return to West Marine. Worst customer service in the industry. Ive been shopping at West Marine on Harbinson for as long as I can remember but after yesterdays experience when customers were locked in the store as I guess was the pathetic excuse for a Manager was rushing people out. He must be in hirry to get out of there. Just all around bad experience!

I called and inquired about a product I was interested in on my way thru Columbia heading to the coast. Once I arrived I walked the whole store looking for what I had called about. After not being able to find it I was finally greeted as I was leaving.By the way I was the only customer in the store at the time and no one bothered to help me.I guess Ill shop somewhere else where they actually appreciate their customers.

I have shopped here for awhile and these guys are great. My son and I were shopping for a life jacket that would fit him for this upcoming season and an older gentleman greeted me in the isle and gave me some great options and actually went as far as making sure I was aware of some current boating laws that applied. Ill be giving these guys my business as long as Im on the water! -TJ

Drove a little over an hour to pick up a switch panel. They had a few in stock, and a sign above saying 20% off. I asked Mike the sales associate was that on all the panels, he said yes. With 20% off, still about $40 more than online which I have no problem with, it cost more to run brick and mortar stores, I get it, been in retail over 20years myself. Shopped around got a few other things and went to pay, item was not discounted. He went over and looked at sales add, then stated that one is not on sale. I asked again did he not tell me they were on sale, he agreed, but would not honor his mistake. Poor Customer service. Unfortunate because this is the type of things that is making e-comm even more successful. Try to spend money at brick and mortar whenever I can.

Outstanding customer service support! Greg, Mike and Jay assisted me in obtaining emergency signaling devices to support ACA risk management training. Greg also was very helpful in exchanging my ICOM -73 that was operating intermittently despite not having my previous extension plan on file at the new Columbia location. I highly recommend the West Marine team for any boating needs.

Ive called numerous times today.... 3 different times no answer. I was just trying to see if they had 80lb mono in stock 😑😑😑

Walked in was NOT acknowledged/greeted. Browsed around the store still not acknowledged. One associate was walking around with a cell phone in hand texting other associate was at P.O.S. with customer.Exited store without any acknowledgement!Poor Management and training!!!
