My suggestion is to stay away!!! We have had a security system installed for about a year and the cameras have never worked properly. The techs have been out several times to tweak and adjust setting. Still not working. The door bell camera is terrible. Just replaced it with a Ring doorbell. You are paying top dollar for yesterdays technology.
Do not use this service. The equipment will work only half the time, the customer service has a horrible attitude and they will not work with you at all on trying to resolve any issues.
The Tech Josh was outstanding in performing his job, Quick, Detail Orientated, Clean and above all Knowledgeable. Showed me everything i needed and answered any questions asked! The system is up and running and i was impressed so far as to the quality of the hardware used. The Door bell Camera has a very wide angle that goes from my drive way to the opposite end of the home. The finishing call at the center was professional and informative. Glad i picked a homegrown South Eastern Security company to protect my Family and Home.
Your salesman Scott Consentino borrowed $600 from me because he says hes not getting paid. Now he wont return my calls or pay me back. What a bumb. What kind of operation do you have going on over there?
TERRIBLE!!!!! Sexist, discriminatory, and tried to send my account to collections FOUR YEARS after I terminated my contract dispite having written confirmation of termination without charge because of a BBB complaint I filed. Idiots!!
Wish I could give zero stars. Had one year left on 3 year contract and would not move service to my new home so I end up paying 650 dollars for a security system that I cant use and wont give a discount of any kind or take the equipment back . Do not use CPI. Scam artists. Read the fine print very carefully. Will never use their lousy service or noisy aggravating equipment again
It takes a lot for me to submit a neg review, but no one should have to go through the same experience so to prevent further occurrence..An aggressive sales person would not get the hint whenever I mentioned I wasn’t interested. I continuously eluded to not being interested in the company and that I was already gearing towards another company. He continued to harass me regarding which company I am interested in and why I chose to go with that other company. He started gesturing a lot as if he thought I was deaf and that was when it really started to get uncomfortable. Then he asked if I was military and other personal questions, but when I answered he didn’t mention anything related to my answer or the question. Meaning what was the point of him asking if I was military? I started to wonder if he was really CPI or if he was a creeper around the neighborhood that I should be aware of and possibly report.I could tell he was trying to be personable, but he became even more aggressive when he was talking as if he was becoming impatient with something. So instead of eluding I directly told the sales rep I am not interested in CPI. He continued to mention options that CPI could offer. This guy would literally not get the hint.So I tried the soft approach and I then told him I would research CPI online and pursue further if CPI ended up being suited for me. He asked me how could I research when the prices are not mentioned on the website. I was a little confused because I mentioned nothing about prices and what do you mean how can I research? A trained sales rep would probably leave a brochure and a business card as opposed to insulting, harassing, and/or continue to ask me random questions. So at this point, the dude is already aggressive with me and is now starting to become sarcastic. Before I became aggressive as well, I sternly told him I am not interested in the company and asked him to leave. He still stood there talking...STILL, how many times do I need to tell this guy that I am not interested before he leaves. I literally had to close the door as he was talking to me in order for him to leave. Rude of me, but I’ve never felt so uncomfortable in my own home.It was an awkward experience and I wanted to confirm he worked for CPI so I drove to CPI to see if he checked out as an employee. The building was locked and no employees answered the door when I rang the bell.If he wasn’t CPI, then please let me know so I can report him.If he was CPI. Then CPI your tactics of harassing people into signing with your company isn’t working. Try a different approach. Your sales rep was very aggressive and shows his emotions a lot when he talks to you.
My office was broken into at around 1:00 am on November 16. The thief broke my window and stole my computer monitors and damaged other computer equipment. I never got a call from CPI about the break in. I found out the next morning when checking my Ring flood lights which showed activity around 3:00 am, which is when law enforcement got there. Because I never got a call from CPI at my office or my cell, my office remained open and unlocked when law enforcement left. I called CPI later that day when my office opened at 9 am. It took until 1:30 to get someone on the line. I would hold for about an hour and then the phone would hang up. I would leave a return call number and never get a call back. When I got this service, I was asked information about my regular hours so that they could personalize the service and be more aware of suspicious activity in off hours because I dont live there. When I got someone on the phone, I was told that they could not know if I was at the office or not at 1 am on Sunday morning, so the decision was made to use a 2 ways intercom system to determine if I was in distress. So unless I am physically at my office when something happens, I will not get any contact from CPI that I actually receive. I asked why I did not get a call to my office and cell phone to make sure that I was not in the distress that caused their office to call 911 (and I am not convinced that the neighbor who said they called the police did not in fact call the police). Absolutely no follow up to even be sure the police came, if I was okay, etc. This is the purpose of security monitoring. I use Spectrum business for phone service and print out a log of all incoming and outgoing calls for the time and no calls from CPI. I use ATT for cellphone service, and there are no missed calls or voicemails on my Iphone. I was told there would be an investigation, but I am not sure what that means. Today is Monday November 23, 2020 at about 9:12 am. I have been on hold with CPI for the past hour waiting for a representative, despite being told that my hold time was approximately 4 minutes. Because the window at my office was broken, I have to order the glass and I am ordering bars for the windows, which have not come in yet. On Saturday, someone tried to enter my office by removing the wooden board that covers the broken window. The alarm went off apparently, and I was notified I got a call about my alarm going off. But this call did not come from CPI and their office has yet to follow up on an alarm going off at a business on a Saturday which is not a standard time. While I realize that I can go to my office at any time, what is the point of asking for personal information to personalize my experience? The thief managed to disable the wall panel to shut off the alarm without CPI being any the wiser. A caller had time to call me and let me know that my alarm was going off, and I had time to get to my office and CPI has yet to make any calls about this issue. Needless to say, I am switching companies and just need to speak with CPI about where to send their equipment. Still on hold. Two break-ins in 1 week and not a single call from CPI about it. But they did respond to my calls to let them know that I am canceling my service and getting another security system to protect my business. I dont want to have to move into my office to communicate with CPI through their 2 way intercom system if someone breaks in again. My call dropped at the 1 hour mark and I am calling again. For this second call my hold time is approximately 31 minutes despite my choosing the option that I am responding to an alarm.
I had Reg Wilson talk with me about CPI. He was super knowledgeable and helpful, and he helped me pick the right security tools for my home. The technician Nick came out for the install, and he was awesome. he worked very diligently to get everything installed, and had a great attitude. Overall the whole process was great, I would highly recommend CPI!
I am offended by the CEO comments concerning the current climate in America. I will be looking for alternative service. Ever since I started with this provider I have experienced issues. The tech walked in my house with no shoe covering. Asked to use my personal bathroom during the pandemic. Broke my air conditioner during the installation. Over charged me for part they installed. I could go on and on about how CPI needs to sell the business to someone who cares.
Why do you only reply to positive comments and dont address or acknowledge your customer who have experienced poor service. I have been waiting for a respond and phone call from you guys for weeks. My contract is up next month and I will be searching for another service provider. This is not how you do business.
We had to call today to get some information and our rep Emily was super helpful, friendly, and polite. CPI always takes care of any issues quickly and efficiently. They’re reliable 100% of the time and I would recommend their products and services with no hesitation.
As I sit here, writing this review, I’m still on hold after 4 hours of waiting. This is the 3rd time I’ve attempted to reach someone and have waited multiple hours each time. This isn’t the correct way to retain customers. I will not be continuing my relationship with this company. If I can ever get someone on the phone that is.
The young lady that assisted me today was very informative. She was patient, professional and a great listener. She explained what should have been explained to me on yesterday. Shes truly an asset to CPI Security. Because of her, I ve decided to stay with CPI Security for now.
CPI Security Systems are hi-tech, convenient, affordable and they have a great group representatives. We love our system and the sense of protection that comes with it. The representatives explained the system, and the terms in a very straight-forward, clear and concise manner and provided us a package we could not deny, at such a low cost. We did not feel like we were being handled or pressured and the made our decision to choose CPI much easier.
Rope you into a long contract and tell you that its standard procedure for security companies. Will not let you out of the contract if you move and no longer have the need for their services. Would give you no stars if possible.
I just moved in to my new home today. A CPI representative visited my home right after all of our belongings were delivered. I just began unpacking when he rang my doorbell. I let him know that we’d already contacting another service provider, but politely thanked him for offering services. He gave me a look of disgust and asked what did the other service have that cpi didn’t. I explained to him that we just moved in and that I really didn’t have time to discuss anything with him. I thanked him once again, and proceeded to tell him I was busy. He was very agitated and stood there as if I owed him some type of explanation of why we contacted someone before he showed up at my doorstep. His attitude and demeanor was awful and I will never consider doing business with a company who has someone like that representing them.
My salesman Mike was great! He listened and understood all of my concerns. He put together a package that was in my budget and met my needs. My technician Brandon was very professional and respectful of my home. He gave me options on where and what was to be installed. The final product is a home that feels safe. As a single mom the video and voice monitoring system is exactly what I wanted. Thank you CPI. I am very pleased.
I called CPI after my alarm went off and spoke to a lovely customer service agent who actually was calming. I asked to change my password and it was done quickly. I asked about CPI bell security installation and she made an appointment. I told her by CPI sign was black from years of weather elements and she said when worker comes he will bring another.I will certainly stay and renew my contract with CPI for their safety and customer service.
By far the best decision Ive hat Ive made for my mother! The sales rep, Daniel, was thorough and checked on us throughout the set up. The technician that installed the system was nice, patient, and beyond helpful!! I feel at ease with CPI monitoring security at my mothers house. She can easily arm against intruders while she is home and away. Now, Im in the process of having a CPI system setup in my home. Thank you, Daniel & CPI!
So far the service provided and customer service experience has been great! I dislike having to be locked into a 5 yr contract and cant really make changes to your package as you are locked in for good. But again the service is excellent even when my alarm goes off, CPI is super responsive and helpful.
The process of switching to CPI was painless. Our salesman, Lem Holsclaw, was very professional, knowledgeable, and friendly. He was able to answer every question we had and put us at ease. We had two technicians here for the install, Roy Knight and Mark Graham. Both were also very professional from start to finish. By the time they left we felt very comfortable with both our security and being able to operate the system. I would highly recommend this team!
Our salesman, Mike was personable and knowledgeable. He explained the system and answered all our questions in great detail. Ive had to contact him a couple of times with questions and he got back to me immediately. He has made working with CPI a breeze. Our installer was also friendly and knowledgeable. He took time to explain each piece of equipment. Because of our interactions with both of these guys we do not hesitate to recommend CPI to everyone we know.
New: I have been with CPI since 2015. Issues all over the place. I contacted them and spent hours trying to have them help me fix the system low batteries and non-functional system. They wanted me to pay for all of that. In order for them to fix the system, they convinced me to sign up for another 24 months, contract extension, which I did. Just a month later, they started charging me late fees, even I made sure I provided my checking account information for them to draft monthly payments. I do have an email from their representative stating that they have had everything they need and I should not worry anymore. I have tried contacting them multiple times - no one answered my many calls. Furthermore, I went online and I made payments but still charging me fees. I do not understand why they are so unorganized and unprofessional. I am tired of CPI and their poor customer service.In addition, their newly installed camera does not work. You need a party in front for it to work.Old: Thank you, Jennie! The technician did a great job installing the camera! Also, checking the system. CPI is protecting what matters!
Me and me husband Reginald have been with CPI for 2 years. during this time we have had constant trouble with the door lock working with the phones. once they claimed to fix it now when you go to touch it to lock or unlock the door it does nothing. Also the outdoor camera has not been working and we have had CPI come out to fix it and it was not fixable and to have it replace we have to come out of pocket over $200 did not stop working due to something we did. I really looking at other option for a security system because this is to much.
My Husband and I bought a new house in October 2016, we wanted a Security system and contacted Donnie Snyder who we knew worked in sales for CPI. Donnie went over and above in his duties. By coming to the house to see what would give us the best Security and set up appointment for a Tech . To install the system. Also went over what the the Tech will do. I have been a customer of CPI for 4 years now and we have been thrilled with the service. We have used other security companies in the past only to be disappointed with the level of service. I received a bill in the mail for the amount of 18.06. I noticed that 18.06 was deducted out of my account. I called to see if I had a balance. The lady I spoke with was very pleasant. She informed me that I didn’t have a balance. She even asked me about the time my fire alarm went off. I would recommend CPI to anyone!
CPI software has been very user friendly . Forever my wife has asked did you close the garage door?---ten miles down the road----now I can respond comfortably----yes! The many features offered by CPI really provide peace of mind when protecting your home and you!

Mike Flannery was very professional when he came to our home (July 2017) to discuss the CPI system. A few days later the technician Josh installed our system in a timely manner and very respectful. Josh made sure we understood the system 100% before he left. Mike also arrived to make sure my spouse and I was happy with the system. Roy the manager also came to the house and welcome us to CPI. My spouse and I are very please with CPI professionalism and security system.

Got hassled after they discovered I went with a much cheaper, self-monitoring option. It seemed that the rep. took it as a personal slight. When I was asked if I had my phone on me all the time to monitor my system, I answered yes I do. That was met with, well I guess youre the only one in town. Rude!! So thats how your company treats veterans. GARBAGE! Military steer clear!!! They were just upset because they didnt have the monopoly on the neighborhood.

We have had our security system for about three months now and we LOVE it. We just recently built a new home and a security system seemed like the way to go to better protect our investment. Our sales rep Mike was great he was very knowledgeable about the system and seemed to care more about our security than the sale which really set him apart from the other security carriers in our area. He even came back to the house to help us reset our exterior camera when my fiance accidentally changed the network settings. I love the quality of our system it even alerted us when a tornado was in our area. I would definately recommend CPI and Mike to anyone looking for a reliable easy to use system.

Contacted CPI on Tuesday (2/13/18).Sales/Service Tech, Tim Henderson helped me select the best system for my house. He was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions even when I asked the same question more than once.System Installed today (2/15/18)!!Brandon installed my system, he was professional and treated me with respect. He had a sense of humor and allowed me to test the system while he walked me through the process. We have been costumers with CPI for around 4 years. We lived in Camden, are currently moving to Elgin. We’re trying to get CPI installed into our new house and so far we have had the worst experience. They Have given us the run around. We had no problems before but too many mistakes this time around.
Anytime there was a issue they get solved quickly. Only 1 issue in the past year and always quick to response when I set my fire alarm off from cooking.
We switched service providers to CPI and have truly enjoyed th decision. Our account rep, Mike Flannery, was great the deal with. He understood our needs didnt try to oversell us, and answered all our questions. He even assisted us a few days later when we had a concern. Our technician was great during the install and communicated very well on how to use the system. Overall a great experience.

This company is the worst company I have ever had as far as security, our equipment keeps failing, techs come out and put down our internet provider. I have had it with this company. WARNING DONT USE THIS COMPANY.
I can’t believe that they tried it! CPI (Columbia,SC/Charlotte,NC) had me under the impression that my home was so safe and secure until it was time to go back and check out the footage. Unfortunately upon review, there wasn’t any footage to review. They told me that the camera is rolling and backing up all of my footage on my SVR. Sorry to find out after the fact that the light on the SVR should be a solid green and not red! When the technicians did my initial installation, the light wasn’t ever green but they let me believe that everything was working properly. A tech came out this past Friday without the proper equipment to resolve the problem but well assured me that the tech on Monday would have the problem resolved. At the last minute after waiting all morning for someone to make the system work the way it was explained and demonstrated, he had the nerve to call me and tell me that the router that he was supposed to use to come and repair my security system with, he just used it on the home that he just had finished up and they are unable to fix my system so I will just have to wait until they receive some more routers that are on back order. This is customer service at its WORST on all levels. I called last week several times to get this issue resolved and this was the best they could do! I am so sick and tired of these companies taking your money and then giving the customer take it or leave it service. SAD👎🏽

I would like to recognize both Ashley Bloom (Sales Rep) and the technician (James) who installed my upgrade.I’ve been a customer of CPI security for over five years and was looking to upgrade our current security system. I called CPI and talk to a representative this past Monday and agreed to an upgrade with an outside HD video camera and a doorbell camera with no increase in my monthly service fee ($39.95). However the day for the install, the electronic Service contract did not mirror what was originally agreed upon. Not wanting to change security service provider I contacted Ashley who spent a considerable amount of time reviewing my situation and provided a satisfaction outcome with providing me with the upgrade services that I had originally intended to receive. The technician arrived on time to my home to begin the installation however the documentation was very slow in getting processed so he had to wait at least 90 minutes before he could begin the install. However he was very professional and patient with the whole situation and once the documentation was completed he completed the installation and provided an overview of the system and finished up around 7pm.....well past his normal hours! Well done to both Ashely and James for their professionalism and desire to keep my family as a CPI customer! Thank you!

I am a wounded warrior and I am being discharged from the military and sent back to my hometown in California. I tried to used my SCRA civil rights act to cancel my services. I was told that SCRA doesnt apply to me even though Im still in the army because I will be a civilian after the Army. And that I have to pay 75% to cancel.

I wish to give 0 stars this company is a rip off. I let a team member of theirs laQue Franklin into my home thinking we where going to get a security system from them. He wasnt knowledgeable of the product he was selling to us. Later call us stated we couldnt get the equipment because we didnt own our land. Which is a complete lie because we emailed all copys of the document to them. So he stated he will issue a refund that was in October here it is Feb 2017 and still no refund. Try contacting him its always and excuse about the refund and why we havent gotten it yet. So I ask for a number to contact the people in charge upon calling them. They tell me its never been cancel which to me is s bunch of bull crap. I only want my refund back. I highly recommend another security system please beware people of these crooks.

I recently contacted Mike Flannary with CPI and changed my alarm system from ADT after it had been triggered and I didn’t receive a call for at least 20 minutes. For the same price, Mike got me so much more from CPI! Now i can look on my phone, even when I’m not home and see who is parked in my driveway, or who is ringing my doorbell. I can use my doorbell speaker to scare away solicitors or strangers, or to simply tell them I am not available. I save money by controlling my home temperature, from my phone by setting up a thermostat schedule. And ultimately, I have the peace of mind that I am being protected! Mike was never the pushy salesman, and the customer service from Mike all the way to installation was amazing. I just wish I would had changed a long time ago. As a side note, when I had my system switched out, the ADT alarm panel was removed from the wall, ADT never called me to verify. I actually notified them when I cancelled...
