My neighbor rented 26ft truck and went through uhaul to get movers to load n unload her truck. She was specific in what she wanted up front ..furniture wrapped, mirrors, she was upfront with everything she wanted loaded, they quoted her $500. They wrapped nothing, nothing was put together, boxes were thrown in garage upside down and almost toppled onto the car parked in there. Most of her furniture was ripped, scratched or damaged in some way, then had the nerve to ask for $200 more dollars. If you want your stuff destroyed then use the uhaul movers.
Rented a car trailer for a two day haul. Swift hook-up and service. On return they met us as we drove in, unhooked it, and we were out of the lot in less than 5 minutes. Great service!
Dont bother calling them. This location has no idea how to pick up a phone. Through several rental process, we tried calling but no one is on the other side to pick up the phone. I understand that this is a busy season for them but how hard and how long could it take to deal with a phone call?
Worst rental experience at a uhaul facility. Trailer had black petroleum grease all over the floor, most of which was left from shoe and tire treads. An entire foot print was directly inside the door. I had to request this foot print be cleaned up, then insisted when they didnt want to... Once home, I found greasy tread marks all over the floor along with a strong odor of dog urine at the front. Spent an hour trying to clean the trailer myself in single digit temps, then just laid down cardboard and old blankets. Employees seemed lazy; didnt bother to come out in the negative degree weather to assist in returning the next day. There were no other customers at the store. Prices were higher than Ive seen for bigger trailers. Filed a complaint during self return and was promised Id be contacted by someone within 48 hours. A week later and no contact. Corporate needs to come down on someone here... Just go to a competitor.
I have rented from them twice and both times I have had a great experience; equipment was ready and clean, and Trey is very helpful! I highly recommend them!
I went in for an inspection before renting and a woman mechanic helped fix my wiring for free! Went to pick up the trailer on a Saturday afternoon and the three young men were more than helpful and patient. Thank you all!
I had a trailer hitch wiring installation scheduled out two weeks before the actual installation...I show up this morning for my appointment. The associate tells me that all of the parts are on back order...they could have called me a week ago to let me. Now I have to find somewhere else to go before my trip on Friday. I’m very upset with my customer experience. They offered no solutions!
Go to StorageMart on W Worley St and ask for Ursula. Smooth and easy experience!This Uhaul Location was the worst storage experience me and my girlfriend have ever had. If I could leave 0 stars I would. They don’t answer the phones and park there trucks in front of your unit so you cannot load and unload. I would recommend using a different storage facility if you want a smooth and easy experience. I would definitely not recommend them to anyone!
George is absolutely amazing! He is so professional and nice, his huge smile and laughter spreads like it should.....I was in a pinch and needed a trailer on very very short notice, Trey the manger was so helpful over the phone and moved around a few things so I could get a trailer early and fast...when I got there to get my rental they looked slammed, but George was so happy and helpful it did not even seem like a big deal, these two guys make chaos seem like a walk in the park....they are both awesome beautiful souls who make this world just a little bit better. Thank you George you rock! Keep on trucking
Since when can you not go into a location and get a truck or trailer?? The crew working today was absolutely horrible didn’t even ask what we needed just said probably couldn’t get anything until Wednesday... Also probably not very good business to have people skate boarding through your parking lot who should be inside helping customers!!! Will never do business here!!
Trey was amazing to work with. I was towing a car from KC to NC and my car broke down in Columbia. I was 1000 miles from home and Trey did everything he could to accommodate me with my trailer (tow) rental while my vehicle was being serviced. All I can say is that I received service in excellence! I appreciate the experience that I had at this Uhual location. I rent Uhuals every now and then for large transports and I believe that this location has had the best customer service that I’ve experienced. My truck was ready when I arrived and Trey was very helpful with providing the information needed about my rental. I will always choose this location when in the Columbia area.
Only dealt with this location a couple times and always been very helpful and patient. Tried paying over the phone for my parent and the employee was short with me and almost agitated answering my questions. Work on those customer service skills.

What a horrible experience. I ordered and paid for a hitch install online, scheduling the install for the next week. Apparently the hitch didn’t arrive (or was never ordered?) but no one bothered to tell us until we arrived for the appointment. I had to reschedule for the next week and when it was finally installed, it was damaged! I took a picture and we told the person at the front desk, who responded we would have to talk to John, because he installed it. Of course, John was gone for the day. John has been “unavailable” since then. My husband even went back into the store to talk to John in person and was told John was too busy to talk to us. While my husband was standing in the store, John walks in from the shop, sees my husband, and turns around and walks back out the door he came in! I wouldn’t believe it if it didn’t actually happen to us! We are still trying to figure out how to get help with the damaged hitch installed on my car.
Only go with this U-Haul if you have to. Very low quality employees and very bad costumer service. Would do 0 stars if I could.
Fantastic service. I had an emergency change of plans where I went from an in town move to moving out of state. The team there (I believe Tre and Tina were the ones that primarily helped) were INCREDIBLY understanding and worked with me, giving me options and answering any questions I had. I have been so stressed about this move and their kindness and patience were a blessing.
While they usually have very good customer service and always good at reservations. It wasnt the case this time. I made reservation online. Called and told them we would be there and the gentlemen said that they will get us taken care of for the trailer we needed. Wrong. We ended up going to Lindsey Rentals bc they didnt have one after all. I had a reservation online and they said it kicked out buy i took screenshots of it beforehand.
Everyone was so helpful and polite! I can’t remember everyone’s names but Octavius was one of them, so nice & helpful. I’ll definitely be coming here again!
This is a great place to get a U-Haul truck. There is a reason its giant, and thats because its their primary focus. They have all the towing accessories you might need, and friendly staff to help if you have questions. Only reason for four stars is the truck I rented had been smoked in and not cleaned well.
Mr. Young provided extremely fast, efficient, and friendly service for me when I needed a truck to get moving. Not only did he set me up with the perfectly sized truck but he was able to point me in the right direction with all the moving equipment and supplies that I would need so I would have a more organized moving process! Absolutely recommend to have him as your service provider and would happily come back again!

Truck was not checked in correctly. Miles weren’t read correctly and we ended up being charged a ridiculous amount of extra miles. They were not helpful in resolving this issue at all! If you drop of there, make sure you take a picture of the actual mileage!
They have a great price on propane if you find/beg someone to fill your tanks. It’s like your on the bottom of the list for them. Twice I’ve driven here to be told they didn’t have anyone working qualified to fill up the tanks!
We were incredibly frustrated by our experience and will do everything possible next time we move to use another company. My problems were as follows:1) We booked for the Columbia, MO pickup location several weeks prior to our move. However, only 1 day before our move, we were notified that we instead had to drive all the way to Ashland, MO to pick up instead. No explanation was provided at the time or has been provided since as to why we had to drive 30 minutes extra both ways to get our truck.2) Online we ordered mattress covers and moving blankets. The Ashland location did not have them available to so we had to go to the Columbia location to pick them up. After waiting in line for 30 minutes at the Columbia U-Haul (because there was only one person manning the check-in stations even though it was one of the busiest moving weekends of the year) when we asked about the moving blankets the U-Haul employee told us they did not have any available. To me this is a basic, essential item that should be will stocked at all U-Haul locations.3) After moving my wife rent to return some of the extra boxes that we ended up not needing. She did not have the receipt on her because it was with me as I purchased the boxes. Because she did not have the receipt on her, U-Haul did not take any of the boxes left. Considering the difficulty that comes with moving, it seems unfair that U-Haul expects customers to keep track of a receipts in order to return boxes. Why cant the boxes be tied to our already existing order that we had in place when I bought the boxes?
I would give zero stars if that was an option. The staff is mediocre at best, but my issue pertains to the larger organization. I had a storage unit and after calling customer service to cancel and dispose of my unit/contract, I was told that was all that was needed of me. I was also informed that my card was removed from their system. A few months later, I found a $260 charge from these people. They are ineffective in resolving the problem and seem disinterested in returning the money they stole from me.
Ive used this branch many times and it is always friendly and courteous. Very professional. I safely stored some very expensive items there and all was fine. Never a problem
If I could give this business 0 stars, I absolutely would. They are a complete and utter joke. We rented a truck from them to move a couch we bought. We had the truck for around 2.5 hours. When we were done with the truck it was after hours, but an employee was leaving as we pulled up. He told us where to park it and told us to put the keys in the dropbox. We did exactly that and went home. A few days later, we were charged for a completely different vehicle and for a much longer rental period. When we called, they couldn’t find the truck we dropped off. A few hours later, they found the truck and told us they would refund the charge. They ended up charging us AGAIN. What should have been a $70 rental turned into a $400 mistake. Now they’re saying that half our refund will come in installments over the next couple of day and the other half will have to be picked up in person. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I know we will be using Penske from now on.
When I came, two windows were busy. There was some woman sitting at a desk writing stuff on post-it notes. She could not be bothered with me. She did finally look up after about 5 minutes and inform me that one of the other folks will be in to help me.Okay then...Guy finally came in. (Not his fault. It was the end of the month and they were getting slammed. Not too slammed for Mrs. Lazypants to get up from her post-its, but I digress....) When he came in, the lady came and told him that I was there to pick up a truck and trailer. Oh, now she can get up? And to do something totally useless. Like I was there for ice cream or something....oops, there I go again....Anywho, they got me set up and out of there. When I got home, I found that they had not loaded my blankets or appliance dolly. Nice. When I called back, I was informed that they would be closed before I got there. Oh, cant stay open a couple of minutes to rectify your mistake. Super.The main number connected me with the place on Paris Rd that stayed open a little later. Dude was really nice and helpful. When I needed to come back and get a trailer for the last bit of stuff, guess who I went to. Thats right. Paris Rd.If you want good service and people who will actually get off their butts in a literal sense, then dont wast your time with this one. Just call the dude out on Paris. You wont be sorry.
My car has a trailer hitch but when I bought it the folks at Subaru said there wasnt a trailer light connector. Needed to rectify this. U-Haul was half the price of Subaru to have one installed and, since U-Haul installs these things all day long, and Subaru does it once or twice every Blue Moon, I went with more experience hoping it would produce better results. A couple of minutes after giving the installation tech (Chris) my keys, he returned and told me that there already was a trailer wire harness folded under the molding of the spare tire compartment. Nice to run into honest folks. I gave the tech a $20 (he might work off commission) and was on my way. Ill go back to rent trailers for my upcoming move. They seem to have all the equipment Ill need. Clean place, friendly people.
God forbid, but if I EVER need to move, or worse yet, help family or a friend move, and need a truck, trailer, or even just boxes, Im coming HERE. The service here was top notch! THANKS!!
Had to have hitch put on mini-van, helped by guy named Sham and John. Both excellent. Had problem and had to come by next day and they fixed it on the spot. Sham was professional and John worked his but off for me. I could not leave review on their website due to not having a reservation number due to it being work and not rental. Dont hesitate to go their to get trailer hitch stuff. Manager on down needs a thank you from the company for the work they do to improve the image of U-Haul.
Have never rented U-haul or storage from them, but get my propane tanks refilled here. Reasonable price on propane, cheaper than exchanging every time at one of the box stores. Fast service.
I went to this location to rent a pick-up truck for the day. While getting my reservation pulled up on the computer, the clerk stopped to help other clerks. When we did go out, after purchasing insurance, the clerk pulled the truck around and was about to send me on my way. I asked if we could do a walk-around with the vehicle, and he told me that was not necessary, as they inspect the trucks upon return. When I insisted, I noted that the cab was dirty (stains on the seats and floors) as was the bed. Additionally, there was a deep scratch on the truck. More disturbingly, I discovered that the odometer was approximately 1,000 miles off from my printed contract. The clerk said he would fix it and opted to give me a different pick-up truck. The other truck also had issues, including a TPMS indicator that would not turn off, even after he had filled the tires. I have rented trucks from U-haul across the nation and this was, by far, my worst experience. This center has a lot of packing equipment, so while I might purchase goods from here in the future, I will not rent a truck from here again if I can avoid it.
Due to my own mistake, I have to change my moving plan. I contacted the manager of U-Haul for returning to a different location in the last minute. The manager was nice and friendly, and the thing was worked out well. My situation was very well understood when I returned the truck. I was charged with a very reasonable rate.

Weve rented trucks from them several times, and this last visit they REALLY blew the call. We arranged for their largest available truck because we were making a local move, and had a storeroom to clean out, wanting to make it in one shot.We arrived, and they had NO large trucks available at all. They acknowledged that they had our reservation, but, bupkis they were gonna do about it. Seemed completely unsympathetic about the situation, to boot, which really torqued my wife off.We ended up using a U-Haul out of Jeff City, adding to our mileage and inconvenience, but at least we got the job done. Ill rent with them again, but Ill avoid this location in the future.
Make a reservation online only to wait half an hour to pick up your uhaul. The checkout procedure at this facility is so ridiculously long that just a few people in front of you will ensure you wait half an hour before getting helped. Staff is usually friendly and I understand it gets busy in a college town, but there should be some serious improvements here. Please note this was not a one time stop and review, Ive used this location serval times for myself and helping friends move.
2 weeks after turning the truck in, I am being charged more money!! They all the sudden decide to come up with excuses to charge me. I even had it checked out BY ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES and made sure to look over EVERYTHING! So, you would think you dont have to cover yourself and take pictures RIGHT??!! NO that is NOT the case now! To all the customers in the future,.. make sure you take pictures of every inch of that and also, NEVER RELY ON THE COMPANY EMPLOYEES!!ONLY REASON THERE IS ! STAR IS BC I CANT POST THIS W/O IT
Moving into area from out of state. Dropped off a vehicle trailer. People were friendly and helpful. Facilities were clean and as expected. Place was busy. Everything as expected and seemed like people cared and were trying to do a good job.
Id like to let the public know that Ron the hitch install man went well above the normal to install a brake controller that no one else in town with even touch a thousand thank-yous in a shout out to anybody who would like premium service with excellent results thank you Ron!!!!!
Terrible. no one working knows what theyre supposed to be doing to run the check out, they havent been given the tools to do it (pictures of basic sign in), nor the training, nor a customer culture. good God, I do not recommend you go here.

Ive rented here a few times and the customer service has always been average. However, after working with this store Easter weekend, I will not be doing so again. While I appreciate how fast corporate was to rectify the problem, the general manager of this store, Chris Kindle, was rude and dismissive my entire visit. While the customer isnt always right, (in this case I was) you should still always treat them with respect, which I received none. Im moving again in a month and I will not be using Uhaul for anything, Id rather pay a little more for better treatment, help and good customer service.
I rented a trailer for a one way move to Colorado. After attempting to load, I discoverer the trailer was too small for all my goods. I went back and rented a 10 truck and returned the trailer. This UHaul location was nice enough to refund what I paid on the trailer (minus the time for which I had it, which is only fair). I was so glad to get out of the trailer rental, it saved me $450. Thank you!
So I rented a 10 ft. Van for 40 minutes drive it 13 miles total. When I return it, the tall, skinny black gentleman tells me to just leave the keys and Im good. When I asked for a receipt he said I didnt need one. For the next 2 days, UHAUL was calling me asking when I would return the truck? Apparently, dude didnt close out the transaction. Needless to say my immediate concern was that there was some shady stuff going on.I called and spoke to a manager who was offended that I called his employee shady. Well bruh, I am offended your employees were calling me for 2 days requesting a truck return because your shady employee didnt close out the transaction...

Its a place to get a truck to haul your $#!+, for sure. The lines are long, the wait is endless, the employees couldnt care less. Pretty standard.
Service is awful. We rented a truck, and a storage unit recently from this location. We had reserved both, but they did NOT honor the price on the reservation confirmation for the storage locker. They charged $10 more a month compared to my reservation. When we returned the rental truck on Sunday morning, they were so under-staffed that we waited over 50 minutes in line to return the rental truck.
Bought some boxes the other day for my move, cashiers were dull and lifeless, didnt offer to help me out to my car with the giant weird push cart, but whatever. The issue came last night when I realized I needed a bed bag at 6pm, called a snooty lady to confirm they 1) had it and 2) were open til 7pm like I remembered seeing on the door. Show up at 6:50, the lights are on, door is locked, and same pokey cashiers are yakking at each other and pretending not to hear me pound on the door. Like a crazy person. At 6:50. Not what people need the night before movers come!!
After making an appointment to have a hitch installed on my car for a trailer I arrived only to find out my appointment was cancelled and the person who was installing hitches was booked for the day, now putting me behind on my trip. Fortunately I was able to get it installed but later had an accident Because the hitch detached from my car! After speaking to the general manager he stated I would have a refund in 3 to 4 days but I waited for over two weeks to get thrown through multiple loops only to just get issued a check for what they felt was a refund for my trailer and not a full refund for the poor customer service not just for my trailer being incorrectly attached but also poor customer service from the GM! Dont come here your move will become entirely more stressful than it needs to be.

Is 0 stars an option? I was moving from Columbia to STL and decided to rent from Uhaul after I graduated. I was charged $351.40 for my trip of 107 miles (which no one gave me options of pricing or what was the best situation for my drive) ... After a couple new employees hooked up my car to a dolly (which I was charged for twice) I found out later that day after returning to STL to drop off the truck, that my car had not been correctly hooked up to this dolly... the sales rep at this Uhaul even made a comment saying wow this is completely hooked up wrong, you got so lucky it didnt fall off ..excuse me?? So, it made over $4,000 of damage to my car. I had to file an insurance claim through RepWest (which is nearly impossible to get ahold of) to file my claim. They eventually wrote me a check to fix my car but I never received a refund for my trip. After contacting managers daily (and them never calling me back) I made a complaint through Uhaul customer service which was also unhelpful. They also charged me over $80 in extra fees after I returned the truck. Filed for a dispute on my credit card because its ridiculous I got charged for this miserable trip after everything I had to deal with and damage to my car with no communication. This took about 2 months to have it all said and done.. Will never rent from Uhaul again.
Have gone to get propane tanks filled and get the same song and dance that there is no certified person on staff. Seems like a bad business model to not have everyone certified.

My card ended up being hacked or whatever the same night I used Uhaul. My bank had me my stolen money and new card sooner then Uhaul! I am still messing with Uhaul to get my refund back. I called to stop the refund because itd go to the old card but they sent it anyway on Saturday. I called Friday. I will not be using Uhaul again because they didnt care and were a huge pain in my butt.
Waited in line for about twenty minutes because store was not appropriately staffed. When we did interact with the cashier, she was nice and competent.

My wife made a reservation for a 17 truck in person at this location about 2 weeks before we needed it, then, two days before our move we received an email from them and they had the dates wrong. They repeated them back to us when we made the reservation, so I dont know how they messed this up. When she called to get them to fix the problem, they told us that there werent any 17 trucks available.I had to call back after I got off work to get them to give us a replacement truck. This time a 26 truck from a different location and a pick-up time two hours later than the original, but for the same price. I mentioned the $50 Reservation Guarantee to the woman on the phone, and she politely told me that they would take care of it at the store when I picked the truck up.I went to the pick up location to get the truck and had to speak to one of their customer service managers. She told me the Reservation Guarantee didnt apply because I was getting a truck. Quoted directly from their website: Your U-Haul reservation is guaranteed! You will get the equipment, location and pickup time that you agreed to or well give you $50. Well, it wasnt the truck I had agreed to, it wasnt the location I had agreed to, and it wasnt the time I had agreed to. Even with being zero for three on that she still refused to give me the guarantee. They did cut me a better deal on the rate and the mileage saving me about $30 overall, but certainly not what their website and in store signage indicated. The manager told me that the guarantee didnt apply because I was getting a truck, but if that is the case shouldnt the signage or the website say something to that effect? Because it doesnt. There isnt a link that says click here for more info, or an asterisk indicating that some restrictions apply. The sign in the store doesnt even say ask a U-Haul representative for more details or anything to that effect. It is simply left as an empty promise with no indication that there are restrictions to it. Dont promise your customers something and then fail to follow through on it.Then after all of this was said and done I asked to add an Appliance dolly to the order and was quoted $12 per day despite the sign attached directly to the dolly, and in clear sight of the employee, that said Rent me for only $10. They gave me the correct price for the dolly and I went on my way to my move.The truck was given to me at only 1/4 tank of gas, and when I returned it, the needle was at 1/4 tank. The attendant told me that the gas tank was low and they would need to charge me for that, so I looked again and argued that it wasnt. The needle was touching the 1/4 tank line, but was just slightly to the left of it. I had to take the truck to the gas station and put $2 in gas to get the needle to move enough to placate these people.My wife runs retail sales events on location and uses rental trucks frequently to transport product. Previously she has used U-Haul despite their poor service only because they were a little bit closer to her store, but after all of this for our personal rental, she has opted to use other carriers. U-Haul isnt worth the hassle. Dont even waste your time trying to deal with these people. Even when they decided to give us what we were promised they act like they were doing us a favor.

If I could give a lower score I would. I picked up a truck I reserved and it took an hour for the employee to complete the transaction. Then when I finally got the truck there was only a 1/4 tank of gas in it.
Terrible customer service. We waited over 20 minutes before anyone even acknowledged us and when they finally did help us, the employee was unfriendly and clearly didnt care or want to be there.
Absolutely the worst customer service ever, was quoted a price and then the went up 4 times that amount. I will never do business with U-Haul and I will tell everyone I know how terrible their company is at the store level and the Regional level.

Reserved a truck. Went to pick it up and first they said they couldn’t find our reservation. Went home a got the reservation #. They said they because we wanted that specific truck for 24hrs, they rented it to someone else that wanted it for a shorter period of time and we’re basically SOL

I drove the car for 18 miles (from ash street to nifong blvd)and returned it at 1:30 pm, they charged me for 50 miles !! When i told them they denied and insisted that i was wrong and that i returned it at 4 pm, how on earth did that happen?!!
