The Columbia Arts Academy is a great place to learn a musical instrument. Having the ability to be musical is something you can enjoy the rest of your life. I would highly recommend the fine people at the Columbia Arts Academy. The teachers can teach the absolute beginner or intermediate player wanting to get better. If you are your kids are looking to play music, this is the place for you!
Anyone considering this music school will not be disappointed. Starting with there security to ease any concerns for young students, to the qualifications of instructors, to in house incentive to motivate and support the students lessons you this school has it covered. The friendly atmosphere is conducive for growth and camaraderie so yeah I would recommend Columbia Arts Academy to support your music goal
For the past 16 years I’ve taken lessons at Columbia Arts Academy. Drum lessons for a very short while, then bass guitar. When I started guitar, I was one of 12 students, and my instructor was Marty Fort himself. Since then, I have grown from a student into a member of a band, High Maintenance. Marty, on the other hand, has grown into the largest music school in South Carolina, to include Lexington School of Music and Irmo Music Academy with over 1,200 students total. Marty hires the best instructors, who are knowledgeable and professional. I wouldn’t go anywhere else for my lessons. You can rest assured, from children to adults, you will get the best from Marty Fort and his schools!
Max is an awesome instructor and is so great with children. My son is always so excited to come to guitar practice! Amanda at the front desk makes you feel welcome and greets you with a smile. She’s very helpful and knowledgeable.
My daughter loves taking guitar lessons here. She is a beginner at age 15. They have made it fun with no stress, which was exactly what we were looking for. We are very pleased!
I started my voice lessons back in the beginning of January and I look forward to coming! The staff is super nice and I love my teacher, she’s going to be the reason I win a Grammy lol. In all honesty, this is a great place to learn and it is very welcoming. I’d definitely recommend Columbia Arts academy for anyone wanting to learn music or to sing!
A wonderful place with fantastic instructors. Both my children go here and I would never want to have them taught anywhere else.
Wow, I am really impressed with this place and so happy to have found it. They have several convenient locations around the greater Columbia area. They offer many types of music lessons- drums, piano, guitar, voice. I love that the lessons are one on one and that parents can see what happens in the lessons either by watching in person, via Zoom call or checking their online notes from the weekly sessions. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. A great addition to our weekly line up!
Our student really enjoys her classes with Ms.Sara. We are so impressed with how much progress is made each week. The one on one class structure makes all the difference. Our student has increased her musical knowledge and ability in a short amount of time. Ms. Sara has a great energy- she’s very animated and makes class interesting and fresh each week. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for music lessons in the midlands.
All of the staff are always positive, upbeat and willing to answer any questions. Our son, Kevyn, is taking piano lessons with Zach P., and Bass with Christian S.they are both very friendly, patient and always let us know what theyve worked on during each session as well as what he needs to work on. Its always a very vibrant and happy atmosphere. .......update 2019. Zach has moved on to a new teaching job and we wish him well. Kevyns new piano teacher Logan is doing well with Kevyn and is continuing to build on his composition, writing and playing skills .
My daughter really enjoys her ukulele lessons with Max and has really learned a lot. I love that she is able to pick music that she’s into to learn on. I think that makes all the difference in her dedication to her lessons and desire to stick with it over time.
My son is 4 years old and has been taking drum lessons for 2 years now. The teachers are amazing and patient and he enjoys every lesson! Each teacher he has had has made the lesson enjoyable keeping him focused on retaining the techniques!
Columbia Arts Academy is awesome! My son is truly enjoying his drum lessons and his drum instructor, Will! Will is very professionally and he is very patient with my little one. Thank you for all that you do, guys!
This is a wonderful school with the absolute best teachers and staff!
Heather is iconic. She is firm in pushing me to achieve more! She is teaching what I asked for and challenges me to step outside my comfort zone. My voice is definitely stronger and my breathing is much better so that I can sustain notes longer. This is worth the money. I love the experience. Thanks Heather and the Columbia Arts Academy... Sean E. Williams
We have been very impressed with the progress that our children have made with both their chosen instruments in such a short amount of time. We are also grateful for the virtual option during the pandemic so that our kids can continue to grow musically and artistically.
We are entering our 3rd year with Columbia Arts Academy and couldn’t be more pleased with the talented and professional staff.
My daughter plays 2 instruments and does voice lessons with her awesome teacher Paige! She has been great to work with. My daughter only started 6 months ago and this was here first time ever picking up any instrument and learning to play. She has came beyond a long way, she is able to play multiple songs and sing along while playing. She is already reading music and blossoming into a wonderful musician. She even enter here very first talent show, which was her first solo performance in front of a large crowd and won first place! Mrs. Paige has given Meadow courage and confidence and we THANK her for it.
You said, The staff is always friendly and greets us by name when we arrive for my sons piano lessons. They are helpful whenever I call with a question or to sign up for a make-up lesson. My son loves his piano teacher. She has been excellent at working with him and making learning fun for him. He has gained confidence in his ability to learn something new. I appreciate that his teacher always fills me in on what they cover in class.
Very organized and always helpful when we need to make changes or have questions. Four of my family members have taken lessons here for the last 7 years.
My 12 year old son has been taking drum lessons from Evan at CAA for several months now and loves it. Evan is so patient with him and also challenges him as well. We love the academy!
I like that the staff is always responsive to any request or question. The customer service is top notch. Also, parents and students are always well informed about all aspects of their music journey, from makeup classes, to teaching changes, etc.
Excellent staff and many different locations for students. Lessons are tailored for each student, too. Highly recommend trying it out!
Columbia Arts Academy has exceeded my expectations which were already high, based on recommendations from friends. My son has the best time with Will and is learning so much! I would recommend CAA to anyone!
Columbia Arts Academy has always been an amazing studio with a lot of classes to choose from and excellent well rounded teachers and staff. I will always recommend this studio to others who I know are interested in music. My cousin, Marty Fort, owns the studio and he along with his staff are always very friendly and welcoming and willing to work with everyone.
I decided to take lessons because I had zero knowledge but a book. While the book was wonderful it couldnt tell me where to put my hands and if my sound was coming out correctly. This essential knowledge is what I am getting.
I was recommended to you through a music teacher who knew one of your pianist. We were just going to take summer lessons but we left the school we attended last year and decided to continue our lessons with Jennifer P. Thanks so much for keeping my son interested in piano!!
My children love music and their love for playing drums, guitar, piano, & singing, has only grown since they have been with Columbia Arts Academy! My son and daughter love their teachers as do I. They have the most professional, kind, as well as supportive staff that my children adore. As their mother I’m amazed with the expansion of skills they have acquired from their teachings. They are best music school in South Carolina!
Everything has been great! I have no complaints. Everyone is really nice and my daughter loves her piano instructor, Miss Anna!
I am still happy with my time with you all. Very strong in the gift to teach this art. I love the way that I connected with both teachers. I am looking forward to coming back
Everyone at Columbia Arts Academy is knowledgeable and friendly. My son loves going every week and enjoys practicing. They have a fun yet challenging learning environment. We are so fortunate to be part if the Columbia Arts Academy family!
It will be a year next month that we have been coming to Columbia arts academy. It’s been great Chyann loves her piano teacher Ms. Becky. Since we recently moved from the Columbia area we have been doing Skype lesson 2 times out of the month, which I truly love
This is a great learning environment for music. The teachers are first class and you can find a instructor that meets your needs. Regardless of your age or level of skill, you can improve your game with the COLUMBIA Arts Academy services!
Columbia Arts Academy rocks! Our daughter has studied classical guitar there for years and I cant imagine a better place for her to study music. The school and instructors do an excellent job of fostering a childs interest in music and turning it into something so much more. In addition to what is taught weekly, the biannual recitals give children (and adults!) the opportunity to perform in a professional environment. We have been blown away at the caliber of talent at each recital. The icing on the cake is that Columbia Arts Academy is run efficiently and professionally. The staff is friendly and knows the name of everyone who walks in the door. Marty is quick to respond to all questions or concerns. We are so fortunate that our daughter has had the opportunity to grow as a musician during her time as a student of Columbia Arts Academy. She has learned things that extend far beyond the notes played and that will stay with her the rest of her life.
Very good experience, all of the employees are professional and welcoming. I like that Marissa and Danielle greet my family every time we attend a session with our son. Also, his music teacher, Mr.Ernie is pretty awesome. Cant say enough great things about CAA!
Everybody is very friendly and nice. The lessons are very good and professional. My child is really enjoying them and making her more outgoing.
Christian is an awesome instructor. My daughter has learned so much in such a short period of time. We love it at the Columbia Arts Academy!
Love this place! My children have been taking drum lessons here for several years. The CAA is always attentive to our needs, always friendly and helpful, and always a place that is positive.
My son has basically grown up taking lessons at Columbia Arts Academy and I can tell you that its been a fantastic experience every step of the way. The staff and management are excellent, the facility is clean, organized, well-equipped and comfortable and, most importantly, the experience the students receive is top notch. Ive seen my sons passion for music grow over the years, just as his skills and knowledge have grown, and I attribute this to the Academy. If you or your children have thought of learning an instrument, this is the place to go.
The Columbia Arts Academy is a wonderful teaching and learning operation! The instructors are very professional yet so wonderful with children of all ages. The front desk staff is always friendly and never let you forget a lesson or a make-up session! My children look forward to their drum lessons every week and feel so proud of themselves when recital times come around (these are FREE and in beautiful facilities!!) I would and do recommend the CAA and Lexington School of Music to anyone interested in music lessons.
Chay loves coming here and loves her Vocal coach, Meghan! Im so glad that I put her in Vocal class. Her teacher, Meghan is awesome! !!
Everyone Ive spoken to on the staff has been really nice and helpful. Zach is my instructor and hes awesome.
Laura is terrific for voice lessons! My friends with music students were envious that my daughter was able to get performance experience at two festivals.
Hands down, the best music school nearby for SO many reasons. Lots of choices for lessons, great instructors, great office staff. Just a fun place to be! Columbia Arts Academy ROCKS!!!
Service was great and the family-like atmosphere was great. Would recommend Columbia Arts Academy to everyone.
If youve EVER thought about learning to play an instrument, then stop reading this review and call the Academy to book a few lessons. I waited until I was 39 and made a pledge that Id not only learn to play the guitar (which had sat in my closet for 12 years), but to play it and sing in public for my 40th birthday. With Marty and Megans instruction, I surprised the heck out of everyone at my birthday party by stepping on stage, strapping on my guitar and belting out four songs with the band!Going to the Academy is STILL probably the best thing Ive done in the past ten years! Learning to play the guitar and working with the Megan (voice) has made my life so much richer. If learning a language was as fun and fulfilling as taking lessons at the Academy, Id be multi-lingual. Until then, Ill just sing and play!
My daughter loved taking Piano from Jennifer P. She’s so patient and kind, just like the entire Staff.
I have really enjoyed my lessons with Zack. It has been a dream of mine to play the guitar and thanks to yall it is becoming a reality
Love my lessons! Max Hardy is a great teacher.
Everyone there was friendly. I enjoyed my experience
The best music school’s in Columbia!
We love Mr. Will, the drum instructor.
Enjoying my guitar lessons at CAA!
