I have been there about 3-4 times for an inspection. 1st time understandable why they could not do it. Second time they mention my car needs specific parts to be passable so I went out, hot the parts and fixed it. I scheduled a time Friday then reschedualed to Saturday same time only to show up and they said I was not on the list. I came in on a time I agreed on in person. They did the inspection only to tell me it wont pass due to tires. I understand they have to do their job, however being told that it will pass when I achieve fixing what needs fixed the first time just to come back and be told no kind of leaves you in a pinch of your day to day life routines and money. I do enjoy the work they do. I have had plenty of times they helped repair or maintain my vehicle before but the inspection left me in a major situation travel wise and money wise.

If you have work needs done, do it here oh my good God these guys are incredible. One part humble one part informative all parts quick as lightning. I called them with a brake issue and they fit me in next day, fixed it, didnt try to sell me any B.S. and explained things in a way I could thoroughly understand. Prices were fantastic and the manager and crew were unbelievably friendly. I dont see myself going anywhere else for any auto issues. If I could give them a 6 out of 5 I would.

Went onto Monroes website to schedule an inspection. Website states they are open on Sundays from 9-5 in Corning. Google also states they are open. THEY ARE NOT OPEN. The website allowed me to request an appointment. I didnt go back to check for another E-mail as it is the weekend and I am busy and any other time I have requested an appointment, I receive the requested email, then I show up at my appointment as I had scheduled it. But I just drove 30 minutes from my house because the one in my town is closed today for them to not be open at all even though their hours state that they are. I tried calling to leave a voicemail and it will ring ring ring then hang up on you. This is horrible service all the way around. I will not be coming back to Monroe in Corning. Website needs to be fixed, along with Google. Also, there should be an answering machine to be able to leave a voicemail.

Took my wifes vehicle here for last minute ball joint and control arm repair. The manager Robert (bobby) was so polite and knowledgeable. I noticed the oil change price was $15 cheaper than where we go so I asked for one while he was going over a quote with me. I was watching the teamwork and speed of of his crew.. All mechanics who werent working on a car joined freely and happily. I already made up my mind to switch both our vehicles complete care to them. For my wifes peace of mind and my convenience . Come to find out he was cheaper than others. He also told my wife she should bring it in for reason and and they will get here in right away. Bobby and his crew are a solid team I can not say enough great things about them!!!! I hope they know how great they are!!!!!!Why go anywhere else???????We wont be, fabulous job all around!

Would recommend any other tire shop over these guys, they will try to up sale you and sneak in additional unneeded costs. They don’t even know where to place an inspection sticker, placed mine damn near right in front of steering wheel. Kaprals down the road is MUCH better service.

RIP off. Were going to charge triple for coolant flush. I told them what I needed. My nephew brought it for the change. They asked him what he needed and he said oil change instead. So they charged double for that and claimed they did it because the customer always right but he wasnt the customer my dad was. Then I make an appointment for coolant change again and when my nephew got there there said the machine to do it was broke. They are being rip off artests.

Monroe on pultney st in Corning, ny are liars, lazy, and dangerous. Charged for work never completed. Hand tightened bolts they loosened.Had to go to another Monroe the next morning to get the work actually done. Leaving tie rod nuts finger tight, alignment failing under 20 miles, could be deadly for someone who jumped on the highway for a road trip.

They dont do fule tank work they always have broken tools never can give you clear awnser made an appointment with them told me they couldnt get the part I needed went right across street to advanced auto got part and maynards auto pit it in for me way cheaper than they would

The Corning, NY site replaced trailer tire efficiently including removal of destroyed lug nut. The next day they installed a car battery at no additional charge. (Battery purchased elsewhere.) Thank you!

We stopped going here years ago after a very poor experience we had. Monroe home office had their local manager call me regarding my issues even though Id already talked to him before contacting them. Id recommend Firestone or Simmons & Rockwell for your needs.

I had spent $530 within two visits in the same week here. I found out the cashier who was making the appointments, was pocketing my cash and not even putting the work orders through. I went to file a lawsuit, but they asked me to keep it hush hush and that they would handle it. That employee was fired and the management team dispersed and opened their own shops up locally. I would recommend googling Arts in Elmira. I would trust him over Monro. His new locally owned shop is great. I also had a similar issue as Alyssa,. They failed my inspection on the grounds of a bad tire (just 1) bad brake pads, and a license plate light bulb..then told me $563.84. I still have the receipt and paperwork.

Came here once over the summer and once recently. My visit over the summer was nice, great service & very fast.My recent visit was insane. I came in for an inspection, left with failed diagnostic and a $900 bill. I go to another certified auto center for the same inspection, leave with a $30 bill (the inspection plus a small charge for labor). Absolutely insane that I almost had to pay $900 for no reason.Very poor service and incredibly selfish to try and make so much money off of a young woman like myself. I am so disappointed in this business.

Would not honor quote I received online... Put on wrong tires on my car and manager was argumentative when calling to tell them. They let me bring my car back to put on correctly sized tires only to find out they ordered the wrong sized tires again! Had to bring back my car for a 3rd time to get correct sized tires put tires on. All was well after this and vowing never to go back. After putting on winter tires at home the studs on the wheels broke off due to Monroe over torquing the nuts attaching to the studs... I would highly advise to stay away from this business as they argumentative and can’t even correctly do a simple tire change.

After taking my car for a spin, they said everything is fine, and I dont need to change the tires until closer to the end of the year. Got some tire recommendations as well. I had a wonderful experience at Monro. Fantastic people—I definitely recommend visiting Monro and will be returning here myself for all of my future (non-DIY) car repairs/issues.I had a drywall screw stuck in my back right tire too close to the sidewall. They put my spare on for free, and since I have an extremely small car, they kindly stored my wheel until my new tire came in. They replaced the tire and sent me on my way with minimal fuss, and answered every question I had with knowledge and care.

I love going to them since theyre so close to where I live and Ive been going to them for over 10 years now. Everyone has always taken good care of me. Making sure that my car is safe and good to go when ever Ive needed something done. No matter how complex or simple the issue has been with my car the guys there have always done a wonderful job.

The guys were all very nice. The manager was very helpful. I had my tires rotated and balanced. They also figured out which one of my wheel bearings needed replacing. The staff took such wonderful care of us that we took our car back the next day for an oil inspection in which they were incredibly prompt and attentive even though it was a last minute request. I had to go in for an oil change, and I had my dog with me and they allowed me to keep him in the waiting area with me while I waited since it was still kind of cold. I was treated with respect and kindness, and they worked quickly and efficiently. I brought up a concern about my check engine light/O2 sensor bank and I was told I could bring my car back in at any time to get a diagnostic on it and find out exactly whats wrong/what needs to be done to fix it. Theyve definitely earned my service again!

Was quickly able to get an appointment and had my shocks & mounts replaced the same day I brought it in. They also noticed I needed new rear tires and were willing to put them on that day if i wanted. Although I had to get my brand somewhere else, they switched the rear wheels to the front for free so it was safer the few days before I got my tires. I also appreciated that they were open on Veterans Day so I could get my car fixed before going back to work Tuesday. Happy customer!

On my way home from the mall on Saturday my vehicle started making a horrible metal-on-metal sound. Unfortunately I was about 45 miles from my home. I pulled into the Monro Auto Service and Tire Center on Pulteney Street in Corning, with no appointment on a Saturday. The manager was AWESOME. Within five minutes my vehicle was up on a lift. He showed me what the issue was, did a quick fix, and I was on my way in less than 15 minutes, and they did NOT charge me. My husband was very skeptical about my decision to stop at Monro, but it was a very positive experience. I would highly recommend Corning Monroe Muffler!

Went in to inspect low tire pressure warning and found that tire sidewall had damage. They were professional and replaced the tire quickly. I preferred to go here because the dealership had a 1 week wait time for appointment, but I got it here for the very next day. I recommend this facility if you want a quick and reliable service for you car.

They didnt put the cover under the engine correctly they could have said something. They just put 2 screws on .. but I dont use screws only clips.. this place dont care for the military members at all.. stay away

The service was great! I was able to get annsooinment the next day for an oil change. The waiting area was nice as well with the manager making the stay enjoyable but small talk and making sure other guests were taken care of as well. Definitely the place to go for my car now.

Got a flat tire on Pultney Street, limped it to Monro. I did not have an appointment (obviously), but Nathan and his crew managed to work me in and gave me a much needed alignment too. The work was done fast, and the price was fair. I would defiantly recommend Monro Muffler in Corning!

Dave is a magical man with a huge heart. We came in because we smelled something burning in our truck, turned out to be just a loose oil cap. Dave didn’t charge us at all and put our worries to rest. If I lived here I would always go to Monro.

I went in for the discounted oil change and they were very respectful and seemed honest. I needed two new tires and they quoted me a few optioned and didn’t try to up sell me. They allowed me to walk out back and see the tires before changing them.

I had to return because parts were not available on day of installation. The only explanation I received was I thought we had one., and they could not obtain one until the next day. No general inspection was done, as has always been done in the past. I was informed the manager who I dealt with on several occasions, Art Lavallee, who was always extremely friendly, professional and helpful, would not be returning and neither will I. Thank you Art for your great service and I wish you well in your new endeavor what ever it may be.

Called and spoke to Dave about fixing both the exhaust manifolds on our 2002 Ford F-250... evening knowing how big of a fix this would be and the risks at hand, Dave gave me a great quote and told me to bring the truck right in and they would get right on it. And sure enough the truck was a pain in the butt. But even with the difficulties they experienced and what they had to do to fix the original problem, the price was phenomenal and the service was great. Dave kept me posted daily on what was happening and what to expect. Truly a rare repair shop to deal with. We will definitely be using again.

Ive had my explorer for almost a year and its had problems for over 6 months. Ive been to 3 shops and always told nothing was wrong with it. At Monro Dave helped a lot. He took the time to listen to me and the problem my car had. They didnt cost too much to fix either! The mechanics even talked to us as well!!! I was at Monro this past week for what I thought was an issue with my muffler but turned out to be more than just that. Everybody on staff here was extremely helpful, explained to me exactly what was wrong with my vehicle, showed me what the issues were, and explained how they could fix it. Art and Mike especially were very kind and tried to help me understand what they could, which I very much appreciated. Definitely will be coming back for any further issues I have!

Really solid service. Ive come here a few times and can say with confidence that Art and his team are truly professionals. They are friendly, responsive, transparent and, most importantly, expert at fixing/maintaining your vehicle.

I always go to this location. I am always treated with respect which is why I drive 45 minutes to go to this garage. Dave and any of the other managers and mechanics explain what work they will be required to do and if they find other issues they will talk to you and go over options. I have been to other locations but always come back here because of the courtesy they show their customer and the knowledge of the work being done.

Lucky I didnt die after picking up my kids from school and after I spent close to $2000 on new lines and such (brake fluid poured out all over the engine). Took it back in twice. Had to talk to the regional supervisor who sent me to a different monro in a different town to fix everything (third times a charm). Come to find out the original mechanic is not certified or trained in brake repair. Would never go there for anything ever.

Took me in with no wait. Open until 7, instead of the usual 5. Fixed my hood cable, after Walmart broke it and stated they could not fix it. Reasonably priced. Great/Friendly staff. Not sure why they have a three star rating at the time of me writing this, because theyve been great.And theyre open on Sunday 9-5, no one else around here does that.

I was having problems with my 2006 Toyota Highlander running sluggish and dashlights coming on. Not only did Dave have his team diagnose the issue but when he was unable to get it done before I needed my vehicle he lent me his own personal vehicle so that I could be where I needed to be and had it done when I came back and hour later. Definitely a step up from the previous management team

Great service, honest, and quick: Dave just totally saved us! Last night, whenwe were 5 hours into a 7 hour trip to a wedding, the car started making awful noises. So glad we sputtered along and found this place!Dave was amazing— gave the car a look, explained the problem, told us he didn’t have the part there but would get it done if we came back first thing in the morning and he would have us on the road by 9. He was so nice, so helpful, and honest— if he told us the entire engine needed replacing, we would have believed him but there was just a small part that needed replacement and soddering.The best part is that we were out before 8:30!! I sought out Monro Auto to have a NYS inspection done for my car after registration. The service was very professionalt and the manger described the issues clearly to me. They worked with me to figure out the next steps for resolving the issues found. Overall great experience.

I went and got a synthetic oil change and tire rotation. The service was quick, affordable, and done well. Also the staff is very friendly and willing to work with you.

Left work after 5pm to find a flat tire. Im glad Monro has evening hours. Art and his team fit me in, discussed what needed to be done. The tire was not repairable, and luckily Art had the right size tires for my Prius C. What could have been a stressful evening ended well. I stopped back today so the alignment could be done. Art and the Monro Corning team are great, courteous, and go the extra mile to take care of new customers.

Called yesterday just to make a oil change and they got me in early in the morning today. They didn’t pressure me on fixing other things on my car like other auto places. 10/10!

Would not ever recommend....my experience was awful.... Oil change and inspection....oil drained on to rack and pinion and I was told I needed a new rack and pinion to pass inspection because it was leaking....price was around $1600....what looked like oil from changing the oil filter had dripped on my rack... I voiced my opinion and the price came down dramatically to $800....thats a huge drop in price and didnt make sence to me...so I had them pull it off the lift drove it home and cleaned up the mess. I then drove it for a bit.....I had no oil in my driveway previously or afterwords....I took it somewhere else and it passed inspection. I also owned the vehicle for another 3 years afterwords and never had any issues with the rack and pinion and it passed inspection every time. I hope this post is helpful to others. Im not one to skimp on repairs...if it was needed then I would have been fine with it.
