I ordered an Alumawood patio cover. Everything was specd like it was supposed to be. Putting it up needs some handyman skills, but that was to be expected. Excellent information, product as expected, great directions! Delivery was quick, thanks for a great experience.

The awning took a little longer than it was suppose to but totally understandable because of this pandemic. Product and service was good. Tech support was extremely helpful with information to put the awning up. As handy as I am it will require at least a minimum of 2 people. Thank you Shawn for all the pdf instructions. Great product.

After building a handful of patio covers I found this place. Company has an excellent interactive website and I was able to design a very elaborate patio cover without engineering. The app makes all the calculations. Give yourself 8-10 weeks lead time and you will receive an awesome, easily assembled Alumawood cover. Best design of all the kits I have built. Deena was the first person I spoke with and made it easy for me to make the decision to buy. She is a very smart lady and very important to the process. I have never been happier with a patio cover!

I have to say that I would absolutely order another patio cover from PKD. My expireince with their entire team was nothing short of amazing! Starting out my sales rep Steven Runyan, did a great job walking me through the entire process. He was very responsive and most importantly made sure I was ordering exactly what I needed. He didnt try to upsell me like most of the other companies I called to get quotes on which was another plus for me.Once I made my purchase, I was setup with Rosa Ramirez who is their customer service executive. Again, she was very responsive and answered all email communications promptly. Lastly, after reading a few negative reviews, I noticed people complaining about the time frame. Rosa kept me informed on the production and delivery of my product. She said it would be 3-6 weeks and I got it within that time frame.I will be ordering from them again and I recommend them for anyone else.

Patio Kits Direct has been great to work with. Especially Andrew who has reached out to me several times to answer questions. They have answered all my questions and helped me feel at ease with ordering my patio kit through them. The process is easy, the product looks great. Ive used the online design tool so that I can see what options look like on my patio kit. I cant wait to start building my dream patio cover. Will upload a photo of my completed project when done.Update: Finished patio kit and very pleased with the end results. It was a little more challenging that I originally thought but I had some tricky parts to my patio. One of my boxes was damaged in shipping and staff at PatioKitsDirect was awesome and re-ordered and shipped replacement parts as fast as they could. Had some questions while building the patio but staff was very helpful in answering these questions. Overall very satisfied and would recommend going this route as you save quite a bit of money doing it this way.

I would recommend Patio Kits Direct to anyone looking to DIY build an Alumawood Patio Cover. We saved over $10k building it ourselves. Its so easy to do. Deena was awesome. Answered all of our questions both email and phone. Even went a step further for preparing plans and documents to submit for a building permit. She even gave us a military discount and thanked me for my service. The kits come complete with everything you need to install. Our kit was a 13 x 56.6 cover. Took us three weekends to build with two people. It took a little longer due to the local building departments requirements and inspections before we could attach to the home. Very simple and very affordable. Very pleased with the outcome. Gonna enjoy this patio cover for many years to come. Thank to Deena and Patio Kits Direct.

Terrible experience. Ordered some pieces (not even a kit) on March 01 2021. Promised 6 to 8 week delivery. Product NEVER came. Numerous calls to their useless CS manager never yielded any update of useful information.By June 9th 14 weeks later, I filed a dispute with my credit card. Finally, the dispute was settled August 5th 2021 with a full refund. VERY important - DO NOT pay these people cash for your order, only use a credit card. Once they have your cash you will have no recourse. They demand cash upon ordering (march 1st in my case). They offer a CC option for a little bit more. In my case, it saved me.Learn from me, go elsewhere!

Absolutely poor experience!! My order took months to be delivered (yes even considering there may be delays because of Covid), the main posts were missing from my order, and multiple pieces were dented. On top of that, the quality of the aluminum is similar to what you would see on a gutter.They do have direct people you can reach, which would be a bonus, but they are rude and do absolutely nothing to help the customer besides blame it on the manufacturer.All in all, you might as well go to Costco and get a pergola there… better quality and you don’t have to deal with a nightmare of experience.

Im very happy with the end product (my rating is based on the experience and question of longevity) but there were a few hiccups along the way. The website is easy to use to design the cover but I saw an option to drill into a slab rather than digging out posts but I was unable to select that without talking to the sales rep. Being a DIY guy and not a professional, I did not realize that this option changes the structural integrity of the cover. The sales rep did not inform me of this. Although after purchase, I received a link to my design with the slab option with a little warning sign stating Your structure may be sound in your specific application, but we STRONGLY recommend that you hire a structural engineer to confirm that. PATIO KITS DIRECT CANNOT BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE FAILURE OF STRUCTURES THAT VIOLATE AMERIMAX ENGINEERING. This probably should have been told to me when I selected this option by the sales rep. Then I elected to pick up the material on my own. For those that choose this, you should ask what your longest piece is and know that your trailer should be able to fit that piece flatly on it. I ordered a 196 cover but the longest piece was 226. I wasted 3 hours and a trip down to the facility, ending up paying for delivery in the end with no offer for reimbursement or deduction in delivery fee. After receiving the cover, there were many pieces that were mismeasured for some reason. The directions were pretty generic made for common options. Some instructions were wrong (i.e. 3/4 hex driver was actually 3/8 ) and I did not have enough screws as instructed, but screws in abundance of the wrong kind. I did not have rafter tails and I did not like the instructions on securing the front fascia because it only included install instructions with rafter tails. I plan to go back and modify the installation of that piece to get a cleaner look. All in all, a DIY guy with intermediate skills and an assistant can install the cover in a couple of days.

Almost done with 14X24X9 foot patio. From the moment I walked in the Main office every thing went smooth. With in minutes my order was verified and sent to the warehouse to be made. In about a week I picked up ALL the materials. The next three days my wife and myself installed the patio. Everything went together with ease. Only problem was the instructions need to updated and all the bags of screws need to be labeled, other wise is was good experience with this company and I wall use them again.

I ordered my patio cover, it took about 4 months to deliver, not sure if it was because covid, it came without the sleeve posts but Deena took care of it right away, Deena was very responsive to my questions, she answered my calls and texts immediately, the product is very nice, I am giving 5 stars because of Deena, she is making this company succeed. Excellent customer service.

So far i have very little positive to say about patio kits direct. The kit took over 2 months to deliver due to back ordered materials which Katie assured me had not been affected by Covid and were not back ordered until finding out 2 weeks after i placed my order that they were. One of the boxes with the wrap kit was damaged with the pieces inside damaged as well upon receiving. The flashing for above the hanger was not included nor were the 1 1/4 inch screws for screwing the hanger to the facia. No instructions were sent whatsoever, i had to reach out to their build assistance line to get a pdf file sent over. To their credit after reaching out about the damaged parts they said they would have new ones fabricated and sent out right away. Unfortunately that was almost 3 weeks ago and i have not received any confirmation of fabrication or shipment and my three emails since have not been returned from Katie. I had high hopes for this patio cover after reading good reviews however all the bad reviews i read had experiences matching what has turned out to be my own. i think the reality is you get what you pay for. Some luck out but I could have gone with the local alumawood installer for 500 dollars more which at this point sounds like a bargain. Hopefully i can just get everything to eventually get this thing up and not have wasted the 3 thousand dollars.

I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for an Alumawood patio cover, because Patio Kits Direct has been a nightmare.I ordered my kit on March 17th and was told to expect a 5-6 week turnaround. About a month later I was told the kit would be delivered on April 26th. Then, on the supposed delivery day, I get a call from PKD that my patio kit could not be found in the Sacramento yard.Fast forward to today, its been 3 months(!!!) since Ive placed my order and I still havent received my kit or a new delivery ETA. Trying to get any information out of Rosa is like pulling teeth and Ive yet to receive any kind of apology from anyone at PKD.

Really disappointed with the lack of communication. Instructions are terrible. Comes with at least ten different screws and only on certain parts of the instructions can you find out a couple screws to use. The instructions need a huge revamp. As far as communication goes, I had questions about the “header” and “screws”, I called twice and was told I would get a call back. That call never came. A day earlier I left an email and it’s been four days with no reply. Basically put it together the way I thought would be best. Luckily my father who has an extensive carpentry background was able to help guide the way. He tossed the instructions and said it looked like a 6 year old wrote them. Pretty expensive gamble, but product is legit and if you can figure it out then I’d say it’s worth it. Moment they got my money, all communication was out the door.

I love my patio! It is beautiful and provides the extra shade we needed living in Houston. Katie, in customer service, was great to work with and we appreciate her taking the time to answer all questions. Price was very reasonable- worth every penny! Installation took a while for my husband and father, but it turned out better than expected.

We absolutely LOVE our new patio cover. We were going to build our own patio cover of redwood, but once I did some research into the alumawood there was no comparing. The install went fairly smooth, the instructions they give you are not the clearest or detailed, but after sitting down and going through step by step before putting it up we got it figured out. Would like to see clearer more detailed instructions. Deena was amazing to work with. She was able to answer all the questions that arose immediately via email or phone. She was very kind and willing to help in any way she could. Great customer service. Turn around time was quick! We couldnt be more happy with our new patio cover for our new house.

Just want to give our experience with patio kits direct. We were in the market for a patio cover and my boyfriend is in construction. He wanted to build it himself. We reached out and dealt with Katie. She was very nice and invited us up to there showroom in corona. It was great to see the product up close and Katie was great. She helped us order and set up the pick up from Anaheim. We picked it up and she was still supportive when we had a couple questions. It turned out great. (Couple minor errors due to my boyfriend but don’t tell him I said that.lol). All and all the experience went great and I’d definitely recommend them to our friends. Definitely see why they have a great reputation!

I worked with Deena through the entire process and she was awesome to work with. I had a few questions along the way and I was treated professionally and kindly. I was also very surprised to get answers on the weekend. The patio cover exceeded my expectations and I have received awesome compliments from friends and neighbors. My experience at Patio Kits Direct was different. I walked into the Corona store not knowing what to expect. Honestly, I was expecting the salesman hustle or the type of service that, unfortunately, you receive at the big box stores. But this was different. The office staff directed me to the showroom and told me that they would get someone to help me. Katie then showed up and introduced herself, ready to help. She was very friendly and thorough and was able to answer most of my questions. The questions that she could not answer were not a problem; she immediately found someone who could answer.I ordered a kit and delivery was as promised. There was one small issue but that was the factory problem (mechanical) not Patio Directs problem.Installation was a breeze and I am in the process of buying two more kits. I have been into the office a couple of times since then for technical questions and everyone is pleasant and helpful.Overall, a great experience. I have recommended them to my friends.

The main person I went through was Andrew and I cannot give this dude more props. Great company as well. When I started looking at these kits, I knew nothing about headers, facia, pans, etc. Andrew spent hours talking to me on the phone and going over engineering drawings to ensure I was up to code. I wound up with a steel C beam that was inserted into the 18ft header beam and two posts. Even when the directions werent clear, I always got a call back and a good explanation of the procedures. If youre looking for a DIY project, can measure and have some knowledge of tools I cant recommend these guys enough. Very pleased.

Deena was very helpful in sharing info and answering all of my questions. I am quite a DIY guy, but had never done a patio cover in the past. I reviewed your website and the detailed docs which I submitted to to my City, Escondido CA, in order to get a permit. Everything went smoothly thanks to Deenas attention to detail. Frankly, at first I was unsure she had the construction experience for my project. BUT, I quickly learned how competent she was. So we bought two patio kits from Patiokitsdirect. First off, Andrew P. was awesome. Our kits were unique and we changed dimensions a few times and Andrew kept up the entire time. We chose to pick up our shipment in Sacramento to save some money, and when I texted Andrew at pickup with questions he was right on it! The price is great, delivery and service great. Once I install Ill leave another review but so far I definitely give Patiokitsdirect five stars!

A friend referred me to Patio Kits Direct and I couldn’t of been happier. They walked me through the process and the Patio turned out awesome. If you are even thinking about getting a patio cover and doing it yourself I suggest calling them. They were helpful and even sent me a part I broke. No charge!
