Large store, good selection, yes, paper goods isle was pretty barren. Same as the other S+S stores, marked down bakery items are not marked down enough to make it a good purchase. Similar to other supermarkets, prices are considerably higher than discount stores (dollar stores) selling the exact same items and brands.

I will give this store a lot of credit for the fresh produce and deli items. The meats are pretty darn good too, but I struggle with the prices so I usually have to wait for the good stuff to go on sale. The pharmacy is quick and the people are helpful. The bakery offers up some great bread and desserts that are so fresh and yummy. The dairy products are good with pricing to match. I find the frozen, canned and boxed goods to be a little too pricey but I do love the variety they have. The store is always very very clean and organized. I do like going to this Stop & Shop more than any other.

This place is horrible. They are constantly out of things, they are way overpriced for toilet paper (which is a difficult commodity), its almost never in stock, and the whole place looks like the day after the Apocalypse. Youre lucky to find a loaf of bread. But, they have their Christmas stuff ready 2 days before Halloween. 🙄 I wish I had more choices of grocery stores.

Very clean and friendly atmosphere, employees always willing to help. This is always been our stop off before we head to the beach to pick up fruits, sandwich meat, bread, crackers just quick and easy things to take to the beach.

The employees are friendly and helpful. They are following Covid protocol with the wiping down carriages and having disinfectant wipes available for customers! I dont see this at ALL stores! 👍👍

You need to check your receipt to ensure the price charged is as advertised, as they arent always in sync!

I went in tonight, almost 11pm on a Sunday night, because Google Maps stated that this location is open on Sundays until 12am (Midnight). Well, thats not so. I got there at 10:50pm only to hear an announcement on the intercom that they close in 10 minutes (11pm). I then rushed to get the few items that I needed. While rushing through/out of the store, I encountered three different employees and I told them about the closing time error on Google Maps. They all knew about it and said that whoevers in charge of that hasnt bothered to change it. So, I fixed it for them. However, its now 11:04pm and there are still customers coming into the parking lot because, according to them and Google Maps, this location is open until Midnight on Sundays. Well, I hope those people didnt drive too far out of their way because this is, er was, the only open grocery store around.

Believe it or not, this is the only Stop & Shop for miles that has Chatham Village Ranch croutons. And theyre usually on sale!

Absolutely Appalled on how I was treated today at Stop & Shop in Cromwell Ct .I went through the self check out, paid, and was all set to leave when, the check out attended ran over and basically accused me of stealing my groceries,because there was nothing on the screen!! What?? When you pay it goes back to the first screen. Even after I showed her my receipt, she kept telling me theres nothing on the screen..what kind of an IQ do you need to work there?? Not a high one!! I went and got the manager he apologized as she didnt and he told me that most of them are new and dont know what they are doing!! Very Well Noted!! This is totally Unacceptable, behavior to treat customers in this manner!! I didnt want to give one star,but it wouldt let me post.

Since this store was near to me, i have shopped here atleast a few hundred times over the past few years. I always had good experience shopping here. Its always stocked up and i never had problem finding stuff. The self checkout lanes have made checking out faster. The staff has always been courteous and helpful.

I shop here quite often and usually it’s a good experience. The store is very clean and well stocked but there have one too many times where I have bought expired product. I am not referring to the produce, we have gotten expired beer, expired yogurts and most recently peanut butter. I worked at a grocery store for many years and it is clear this store is not either rotating their product or doing code checks. As a customer I shouldn’t have to feel the need to constantly check codes on products. Unfortunately if this continues I will have to start shopping elsewhere.

Ok, two things, one good one bad. The good is front of store looks pretty clean, well stocked and typical stop and shop experience is a positive. The bad is that the back of house doesnt look or smell clean at all. Any area leading to the back area smells pretty bad especially near the bathrooms and speaking of, probably the nastiest bathroom Ive been in a long time. Worse than penn station bathrooms during thanksgiving. What bothers me is not only did I have to experience it in flip flops, but that all employees must have to use this at one time or another and then have to handle our food. No amount of hand washing will make me feel better, Im taking a shower. Guys take a whiff, and make that smell go away wherever it lurks and make sure that the bathrooms dont smell like an outdoor latrine.

Not too crowded at 5 pm on Friday evening. Most items were well stocked and sale items were labeled clearly. I dont shop at this location often so I had to double back from the frozen food aisle when I remembered where they put the cheese and yogurt. The bagger at the checkout did a great job organizing the bags and not making them too heavy.

Finally getting their act together. Although I prefer BigY

There was an extremely unfortunate incident that happened at this Stop and Shop, where a customer was harassed and racially profiled by a customer and associate. I spoke to the store Manager, Steve, and he didn’t have an action plan in place to investigate the incident. He quickly dismissed it, and his resolution was an absolute joke. As a large scale organization this speaks volumes around their stance on equality and inclusivity. I will make sure to take my business elsewhere. Corporate has been contacted and I truly hope their is thorough investigation. Bigotry and hate should never be allowed and anyone that permits it to continue is a part of the problem.

Dont bother trying to save time with the scan it customer wand, I got to the register to check out and was informed that the clerk had to do an audit. If I wanted to have a clerk scan every thing I would have not tried to save time and scanned it myself. I only have this issue at the Cromwell store. I will definitely drive the extra way to go to a different store.

I went through the check out yourself and had a problem with one of the machines the young lady that came over to help me she was wonderful she was very cordial and I truly appreciated her customer service she was working the self-service station at the Cromwell stop & shop today March 13th 2021 at 9:30 p.m. hopefully the young lady gets at least a pat on the back from her bosses from this review!! The young lady name was Evelyn.

I usually go to other groceries stores every since Shop Rite came but I decided to try it out again. Every single employee that saw me asked if I needed help or said hello. Even down to the carriage man. A woman came over quick and helped put groceries in my cart. Really good experience!

Never had a problem until yesterday 11/03. Stop by the florist shop and the lady was not happy to help me looks like then in the middle of me asking a question another worker came up gave her something to scan then they started to talk about her schedule like helloooo Im here talking so I just said thank you and procede to leave. Both of them were rude and careless of what a customer needs.

I shopped early this morning. I had very high anxiety as I was quickly gathering my items to race out. Someone gave an announcement, (manager maybe, but I didnt catch his name), that was really encouraging. He spoke about how hard theyve been working to be able to provide for their customers. He said that were all in this together and that things will get better. It was exactly what I needed to hear in precisely that moment. He was soooo genuine and spoke from the heart. I literally had tears by the time he was finished. Thank you!!!! Thank you, to all of you who are so essential...now and always!

Clean and well stocked store with great management and employees. The fresh meat and seafood offerings are high quality.

Dean is a really disrespectful employee. When something came up as the wrong price he got an attitude about taking it off and said that we should have known what the price was. The price was incorrectly displayed and when we told him this he said no it’s not. Every single time I use the self check out and need assistance he is rude and speaks so condescendingly it makes me disgusted. This is the last time I will step foot in this store because of him. I’m so glad they will be replacing him soon with that robot Marty. At least it’s a stupid robot rather than a rude and stupid person.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I went in there yesterday evening (9/1/20) and about 4 associates saw me standing by the formula case and not one acknowledged me even though we made eye contact. No one asked if I needed help. I had my son in my arms bc I thought it would be quick in and out... when I was finally checked out, Tania could not say hello, make eye contact, say you’re welcome, tell me my total, nothing. She threw my receipt in the bag with an attitude and her overall demeanor and attitude was less than desirable. I see the owner responded to other complaints about poor customer service yet clearly nothing has changed. This person really must not care about the way customers are treated bc he knows ppl will still shop there. He won’t be going out of business or losing his livelihood over the complaints.

B+ overall. Good selection, fair prices, helpful employees and weird robots (not sure of the robot - it never has products on-board. So what does it do?), dense parking, and quick lanes.

Went in to get some items that I needed. And purchased some stuff from the hot bar for me and my daughter. Alot of it was so over cooked. Looked like it had been there all day. And at 8.99$ witch by the way is the same price as Whole foods. Cost us 15$ for dry over cooked food. Will not buy from that section again.

On Saturday, July 27, 2017, I stopped to get gas at the Stop and Shop gas station. I used my debit card to pay for my gas. When I realized that every cent in my checking account was being held, I cancelled the order at the pump. However, the pre-authorization, was not released even though I didnt get one cent of gas!!!!!! I spoke to the employee at the gas station and he told me I had to go speak to someone in customer service at the Stop and Shop next door. I spoke with Lakeisha, who is a supervisor at Stop and Shop. I explained what happened and showed her that every cent in my checking account wasnt released when I cancelled the order. This woman went ABSOLUTELY above and beyond to help me. She explained what I needed to do and made sure I was able to put gas in my car by giving me a complimentary gift card!!! I didnt ask her to do that, she offered it to me on her own!! I wouldnt have been able to continue working had she not done that for me!!! Her customer service skills are outstanding and something missing in this society!! Im so appreciative and grateful for her STELLAR customer service!!! Thank you so very much Lakeisa for what you did for me!!

My favorite S&S in the area. Easy to get in and out, well staffed, well sorted, they have a Kombucha on tap area; the deli is nice, the only thing that sucks is the recycling area. Its always dirty, crowded and a quarter of the machines out of service or not reading bar codes at all. The scan and go is very convenient.

Love this store. They now have scales in the produce department where you can print out your own price sticker with the bar code. It saves a lot of time at the self check out line.

Very nice looking store but please please please work with your cashier employees on their customer service skills. Just had a girl last night, didnt smile, no convo, kept looking around & not paying attention to what she was doing, just had her mouth hanging open most of it, super slow. Please work with the cashiers on their speed and being friendly to customers.

For a while stop and shop was one of the most expensive grocery stores. Then for a while they started to come down in price or be competitive with the other stores in the area. But as usual and with time, the prices are starting to creep up compared to other grocery stores.

Spacious aisle s, good droot selection. Could use more cashiers during busy times. Or more people with keys to help the cashiers that need help. Decent flower section. Definitely upped the whole food/gluten free/ food sensitive department. Always clean & courteous.

This Stop and Shop is one of the best ones I have been in. Its clean, always well stocked. I can always find what I want in a pinch. Yes, the prices are higher than Wal Mart and Shop Rite, but there are some things those stores dont carry that I like to buy on a regular. There is a Stop and Shop 5 minutes from where I live in Middletown. I would much rather drive the extra 3 or 4 miles to shop at this one in Cromwell.

This stop and shop was very clean and quick in and out. I was able to grab a premade sandwich from the deli before a roadtrip. Wide variety of just about anything you would need, and its worth getting the loyalty card to save on some deals

Great food and prices as well as a peoples bank inside the store.theres other businesses there in the plaza as well so make sure you do stop by & check them all out for yourself.

Why do I bother coming here? They never have the items in their circular in the store. I have stopped in many times to get NP ground turkey because my family likes it but its never in stock. And the team behind the counter always gives you a bewildered stare when you ask if theres any more. I came in today for 4 items. 3 of them were out of stock. Plus, the stockers leave the ice cream in the aisle for HOURS before it gets in the freezer. Ive seen it and Ive also bought refrozen ice cream more than once here. And, this store didnt get the really nice remodel like some of their other stores. Ive had it. Shop Rite cant move in quick enough.

I ordered a double yellow cake with whip cream filling and frosting for an activity i had today. People loved it!! They were all asking where did i get it from and asking for more. It tasted delicious, soft, and fresh. 5 stars.

Not a very good store. Prices are high. Sales merchandise not in good supply. Personnel not very friendly, especially in produce. Go there for my bank.
