Happy to found this place. Authentic Hong Kong style cafe, they made the food exactly how it should taste in the street of HK. I ordered the pork belly and with rice. They made it with sauce and fried tofu. The ice HK style milk tea is much better than those boba places that charges more than $6 a cup. If you want to get a taste of the good eats of HK this is the place to go!

Your average stop for hearty Chinese food. They have a good deal. If you come between 5 and 9 pm any day, three items will cost just ~$26The best item during my visit was the Potato & chicken hotpot. Its worth going back for.The customer service is great. We had a slight problem with one of our dishes, and they replaced the whole thing.

I was looking for something nearby, and saw this restaurant on Google Maps. The reviews seemed so mixed, but I thought I would give it a try. I’m glad I did. I found the staff to be friendly and prompt, and ordered some Hot and Sour Soup and Kung Pow Chicken. Both were tasty and exactly what I was looking for. The prices were great. Definitely will be back!

Food here is very good. Got the baked pork and tomato over rice and the baked chicken with white sauce over rice. Cheap and comes with a drink during happy hour. The pork tomato was definitely better, highly recommend, but the chicken was also good. Service could have been slightly better though. Recommend this place for a late night food run.

$98 fed 10 people - good deal! Food was tasty as well, pretty authentic Hong Kong style. We ordered wonton noodle soup, 1/2 chicken, sweet and sour chicken, local pan fried noodle, a vegetable dish, chow fun with Malaysian sauce (not spicy enough though), salty fish and chicken fried rice, and desserts. Will go back for authentic local eats!

I’m very disappointed today. I have ordered 2 rices with 3 dishes to go today. When I went back home and unpacked the food. No rices were found, the complimentary soup was all spilt out, the bottom of the paper box was broken because of the sauce. And what’s worst, the Braised Seasonal Vegetable in Broth has only broth. I didn’t see any vegetables! This is the first time I order to go in this cafe. I’ve been eating in this cafe for many times because I think the food is good and I recommended it to many friends. I hope next time the staff check everything before they hand them to customers and also improve their packing!

I really hope allows 0 startslet me get it straight, i went to this place regularly. ok food and super cheap price. But i just had my worst dining experience ever!i ordered one wonton noodle soup. in one of the wonton theres this super thick and long steel wire in there!!!!!the wire is so thick that you can almost called it a stick!given the size of the wonton i seriously think that the wire is deliberately put in the wonton (because i really dont think you can put such a big one by accident!)then we ask the sever to come and check it. no body even says sorry! and they still expect us to pay the meal!!!!!!!!!people just for you health and life please stay away from this place, im not joking!think back to this experience it still scares me and made me wanna throw up!

This place is very good and absolutely worth visiting if you are in the area and craving for some good chinese/cantonese/hongkongnese food. however, even tho the majority of the food items on their menu is really good, their beverages can still be improved. my go-to drink has always been iced milk tea but the ones that they have is always mild, even if i asked for easy ice and extra milk. but overall, really great food, good service and definitely worth trying out!

Review №21

The food was quite expensive! Ordered three dishes at total of $41. But concept of local cafe/tea house means affordable price. For a place with minimal decoration and a fast food setting, how dare of them charging $14 for a vegetable dish, and $13 for a super small beef w/beancurd pot?? Food was salty and service was non existent. When bill came, no price was written down. How can you not let customers know how much you charged? What a shady practice! Upon inquiry of pricing, the female owner offered no apology and gave me an attitude which subsequently reflected in my tip. Will never come back and wont recommend Local Cafe to anyone.

Decent Hong-Kong bistro style spot in a crowded Asian restaurant area. Service is quick and servers are helpful and responsive. On the other hand, food is relatively tasty but quite generic. Drinks are great and prices are also very affordable with good portions.

Been coming here consistently because their baked pork chop rice is one of the better ones in the South Bay, everything else is average. However came here last night and found a dead fly while eating our stew beef rice plate, waiter offered to replace the dish but we already lost our appetite. Didnt make a big fuss about it and they just crossed out that item from our order. Unfortunate event but would not come back again.

This is the first Hong Kong style Char Charn Tang (tea restaurant) I visited when I moved to the Bay area. It used to have a Chinese name identical to one of the most popular Hong Kong fast food restaurants. It changed ownership and name several years ago but the restaurant has not changed much. The food quality certainly cannot match that in Hong Kong but it is adequate. Because of the price and convenience I visit this restaurant often despite the average food quality. The service is generally good as an average Char Charn Tang. My family usually orders broccoli beef rice, beef spaghetti, 滑蛋蝦仁飯,and 牛腩湯河粉。It’s seldom crowded while other restaurants in the same mall have long wait line. If less wait with average food quality and a long menu for Hong Kong style food, this is the right place for you.

Had a few takeaways. Place an order online, stating that no oil or salt should be added. Because my mother has diabetes, she cant eat salty food. I bought it several times, and every time I went home and opened it, the saltiness of the noodles was overweight. I wont go to this store again in the future.

I tried the Bazhen tofu pot and the Fried Belly Boiled Potatoes Braised Beef, Fish Fillet, Chips, Salt and Pepper Tofu. Overall, it is at the level of two to three stars. The common problem is that there is too much starch added to the meat, soup, and fish fillet. (It’s too much so that the taste is a little distorted.) The braised pork belly is considered the best potato stew. The potatoes in the beef can also be salt and pepper tofu. The salt and pepper taste is not tasted but it is light so it is OK. oh BTW, the milk tea has a taste of me Unacceptable taste, so I get two stars

This is the most unfortunate Cantonese restaurant Ive ever eaten in my life. Those who want to try it should be careful. I ordered the black pepper pork chop rice bowl on the day. The black pepper sauce looks like stool. The dry pork ribs are grayed. The paste is completely covered, and the two rice balls next to it have no side dishes at all, which can completely subvert your impression of black pepper pork chop rice ... Note that even if you find it difficult to eat, you must not forget to give a tip, otherwise the boss will I rushed out of the shop and scolded you. This star is for you, completely taking care of the ingredients.
