I have been in this store several times and have always had a good experience. Today, I found myself realizing mid afternoon that it was my wife’s birthday. I called several places to find a cake befitting only to be denied. I called food city and was blessed to get Rosa in the bakery. Upon hearing my situation, and some discussion she jumped into action and prepared a cake for me. I cannot express how awesome it was for her to appreciate my situation and go above and beyond to help me out. Thank you, Rosa!!

Today we stopped at the Walnut ave store in Dalton. We approached the deli where 2 workers stood at the register speaking with one another. Neither acknowledged us as we patiently stood directly in front of them. They continued their conversation and then turned and went to the back! -?! -I think one girl was training the other one. Perhaps she was even a manager. I certainly hope not. If so she herself needs training. Eventually we received help from another worker and we made our purchase. I have never had this poor of customer service at Food City. I gave 2 stars because the store was neat and well stocked as l made my other purchases.

Decent store and service. I was able to get in a d put quickly and found everything I needed.

Great customer service in the bakery!! Very knowledgeable and patient with our questions about placing a cake order. She even took the time to explain which cupcakes to purchase so we would know more about the cake and icing.

Gosh when you walk in the store at night before they close, everything is just stocked, fresh and ready for the next day! Love Food City quality, quality, and service! Thank you love for the great experience

Nice clean store, easy to find the things we need...

Very clean and spacious. Excellent variety of products and everything was well stocked. Baja Blast Mountain Dew and Sundrop😊😋, just a few of my familys faves and this Food City location had PLENTY! Most other grocery stores rarely have Baja Blast in stock, and Sundrop by the 12 pack is almost impossible to find about an hour and a half south of Chattanooga. Also, polite and courteous workers throughout the store making sure to be available to help without making me feel horrible for asking for help finding certain items.I usually dislike going to the grocery stores near where I live because #1) over crowded, #2) not very sanitary, #3) several items are NEVER in stock; kinda like the entire town decides to purchase all of the same things from every single store. Plenty of what you dont want, none of what you need.Food City off Walnut Avenue in Dalton and (not gonna name the other store since this is a review for Food City) in Chatsworth are my two fave grocery stores, and as long as I have a way there, I definitely dont mind taking the hour trip to get to them.

Went to Food City to get my niece a little cake and balloon. All the cakes looked awful. I could have done better. And there was rotten bananas in produce. Like black and moldy. We waited for 30 minutes for someone to blow us a balloon up. Floral was paged. Got tired of waiting. We went back there and blew it up ourselves. No employee in site the whole time. They were all up front standing around and gossiping. Manager was there also not doing much and certainly not giving tasks to employees.

Love the new store! Its huge! And their building a gas station!!

Food City is a nice place to shop. This time at the meet counter the butcher was so nice he even came out from the counter and talked with us. Smiled and was very helpful.

I will never go anywhere else to order a cake. Kristen always does a fantastic job and she never disappoints. I would give more stars if I could. Call and ask for Kristen for any cake needs!!

Cheap prices and very clean well stocked store

The ladies in the deli department are very nice! You typically have to wait a few minutes for your food to be prepared, but it is very good! As a grocery store, their prices are very reasonable if you use their value card.

This rating is only for the bakery. Everytime I order a cake I go to Dallas for the decorations. She is hands down the best decorator they have. She is able to do pretty much anything you want. If you need any custom cakes done definitely go to Dallas.

This particular Food City store is very well kept up. It is clean and well stocked. As far as economical lets just say its not for the budget friendly folks. A little higher prices than any of the grocery stores around the area. It seems to have a clientel from a higher tax bracket than the other store across the street. But, they have pretty much anything you could be looking for.

Having to go grocery shopping is normally not anyone’s favorite thing to do and can definitely be a downer and customer service is one of those things that can make it a better experience. The cashier Alyssa was talking to us and was cheerful the whole time as she rung us up and made such a lasting impression that I had to boast about in a review. A great attitude can always make or break an experience and I just felt like she needed the Recognition.

I shop here all the time . the staff is friendly the shelves are always stocked and the store is always clean too. I never have to wait very long to check out either like you do at Wal-Mart. Food City always has lanes open and if they start to have long lines they open a lane to help get the people taken care of.

Quick trip in to pick up something for Dad...but of course picked up some items for myself...like neptune salad for lunch! Got a warm fuzzy feeling as I entered passing the worker sanitizing the carts. Yay for Food City!

This trip to Food City was good. I found almost everything on my list. And clean store with a well mannered staff.

Overall experience pretty good. Good variety, and good sale prices, however one of the sales prices was not a sale, if the cashier fails to ring up one of your items, thus causing the sale items costing me full price, and a trip back into the store to get my sale price corrected. I know it was a mistake, and mistakes do happen. But in todays economy, I have to watch where every penny of my money goes. The cashier, the customer service person, and several employees were very friendly and helpful. You would have gotten 5 *s but for the mistake. I will be back at a later time, maybe better experience will get you 5 stars.

Really disappointed tonight... I bought the Steakhouse Seasoned porkchops for Valentines dinner for my family. I really wish the WHOLE porkchop contained the marinade and seasoning and not just the part of the porkchop that is visible in the package.

Got enough food to make 3 meals for two for 30 bucks then we can wait to next month and get some more groceries .

Awesome grocery store! I just moved to Dalton from San Antonio, Texas yesterday and I have to admit I was very worried about not having my HEB but food city was amazing, they had a great selection, good prices and super friendly staff. This will be my new grocery store.

Food City has excellent fresh produce. The staff are all very friendly and alert to your needs. I also appreciate how clean they keep their store and the shelves. Never a half-finished Starbucks latte sitting on a bare spot in the shelves, like certain other places....Always well-stocked with everything I need. I also appreciate the large variety of vegan cheese options they carry as well as plant-based deli slices and many frozen non-dairy treats.

This location is top notch. A large variety of items and brands. They have a great beer and wine selection and their deli/cafe is excellent. Plus, a pay-by-the-pound taco and wing bar. Who does that?! It looks like Food City went all out on the newest location here in Dalton.

Yep. Five stars. I really love this store! They have a salad, wing, nachos and olive bar. They also have hot food in the deli. Meat department is clean with plenty of options. Staff are friendly, too. No complaints here.

The new Food City store is very nice! It is large, but not overly fussy. It has a nice atmosphere and friendly staff. It has only been open for a few days, so time will tell... but at this time I am liking it!

I liked this grocery store. Good selection of products that i like. I do have a problem though. The bathrooms was not clean. For it to be a new store they should at least look sanitary. But this is not the case. I informed an associate thst the bathrooms needed attention. I was in there the next day around the same time. Bathrooms had not been cleaned. Everything that was wrong with them the day before was still there. To me this is unacceptable. Its the Only reason I have given this store a 3 star.
