Lisa and Bubba are amazing. The yard is great, but the people really make the difference. Great security, no liveaboards overnight, all pricing is well-explained ahead of time.
Some of the staff is a bit abrasive, but the opportunity is worth that effort. You will need to buy many supplies from the shop and those prices are also inflated, and in order to sand, you will need a vacuum attachment. The real experience is being able to work on your vessel and being surrounded by others doing the same. This is what gives Playboy Marine its most value, the wealth of experience and fellow seafarers surrounding your work space. A great spot if you are interested in getting elbow deep on boat maintenance and repair.
Great place for DIY boat repair. Prices are reasonable and knowledgeable contractors available. Vancito is excellent for bottom paint services.
Absolute Boat works is the contractor you want here. Dario and his brother Nick were great and show the pride of a family businessThe yard itself was pretty third world (and we are circumnavigators). The management (Lisa) was thorny, inflexible and difficult to deal with. The yard policies require that you buy materials from them. The gates a shut during non-working hours and there is not real place for owners to sit down and relax. Nope, one of the worst yards we have been in around the world for customer service. We are told this is the way for all Florida yards, but it certainly does not have to be. If you can get your work done out of Florida, you would be advised to do so.
Great location, reasonable rates. Haul out for medium sized vessels.Self maintenance allowed, but also offer some services and has vendors in yard available for most needs. Close to Inlet/Atlantic Ocean. Located close to Ft. Lauderdale airport. Marine stores nearby as well as hotels and restaurants. Yard help is friendly and yard is clean and kept. Bathrooms with showers are available.
Great marina to work on your boat!
Gotta say this is the BEST experience I have ever had. Lisa and the guys are super nice and most importantly Professional. Looking forward to my next visit to Playboy Marine.
Really helpful and great staff
This is a great marine service facility! Staff is professional and helpful. Lots of experienced sub contractors on property to repair your boat.
Everything was handled very professionally and they did a great job with the travel lift, cleaning and blocking. 30 and 50 amp power a d water is available at each location.
Dont bother asking for a haul out request on the site. Sent 3 request and never got a call. I decided then to cal and I talk to Lisa and she said after you send a request you need to call them. Why collect all my information if have to call them and follow up. Wow that makes sense, WTF have a request form if no one reads it or responds.Dont waste your time, there are much better Marinas in the area.
Playboy was our best haul out experience ever. They were ready for us when we arrived and had us hauled and blocked in no time. The staff are all friendly and helpful. They intend for you to get in, do your work, and get back in the water. This is not the place to store your project boat, it is a place for getting the job done and getting back underway.
Best DIY yard in the area and plenty of skilled workers if you need something done. Reasonable prices, quality work
They dont pick up their phone and dont return calls, pass...
Good people
Who ever the guy is that’s in charge of painting does horrible work and is extremely rude! If you go there find your own contractors. There is a reason this place only excepts cash, so you can’t dispute on your cc and get your money back.
Ok prices. But people??? I paid the bottom paint people to put my props. back on put them on backwards and when moving off left forward was reverse and reverse was forward. I hit another boat because of this and the would not that responsibly for putting them on. Not taking responsibility for putting them on. To me it makes them crocks. If you want trustworthy people to work on your boat Take it somewhere else.
Have a sailboat that got scratched up during Irma, but nothing serious.Contact Playboy to take the boat there for a paint job. They asked to send pictures of the boat, which I did. One day later they called saying they do not want hurricane boats.I wonder what type of boatyard this is that can pick boats. They must have a deal with their providers to get some kind of kick back.. Very sad, and the boating community in South FL need to know that Playboy is not a place to take your boat, unless you have the big $$$
Big yard, deep water access, friendly staff and reasonable rates and rules.
Had mast removed and placed on top of boat for transport then had sailboat hauled and placed on stands in yard for 2 weeks while awaiting transport time. Was charged 170.00 for mast storage....lol. Mast never hit the ground.Watch your pocket change this place will take it.Workers in the yard where great lady answering phone and taking money (using her favorite word) Unfortunately not so much she was rude and arrogant. Take your money somewhere else. I know I will.
Just had my boat serviced at Playboy. Very reasonable pricing and great service.
We just spent two weeks in this yard doing a bottom job. I have to say it was the cleanest DIY Ive ever been in. The staff was great and the price was right.
Nice working marina
Called and left various messages and nobody called back for an estimate. I guess they dont want the business....
Got work done quickly, easy to work with. Reasonable rates
