What a great find. We stopped in here for some breakfast and loved it. It does not look like much from the front and the plaza, but it is quite large inside. The decor is typical booth and table style and it does have bar. More like a small display with liquor on it, but a bar nonetheless. I had the French Toast with scrambled eggs, patty sausage, bacon and shredded hash browns. Everything was cooked to order and was fresh. The waitress was very busy but attentive. She was friendly and nice. The restroom could use some improvements, but then again, no one eats in there. I highly suggest this place as it is a mom and pop style establishment. Great place for the whole family and kid friendly.
Just cant understand poor service in todays business climate. Breakfast 5/25 @7 am. ordered directly, never served any water. Pancakes were good, sausage was cold, coffee ok, MUSIC way too loud! Was given a courtesy napkin? I havent been there in 6 months and i wont be going back. Waiter could barely get credit card machine straightened out. Just no excuse here. I did take the remaining home in a styrofoam container. YUK!

Weve visited here quite a few times. Breakfast (anytime) Lunch or early Dinner. Friendly and quite efficient Staff are readily available. Weve enjoyed a host of very good Diner Options. Some of the menu options are unexpected surprises, too. Love the Burgers, done perfectly medium-more rare than-medium requested and they are cooked to perfection. When lite fare desired, I enjoy the Fruit Salad, Cottage Cheese, & Jello Platter... always fresh. Salads are wonderful too. Fridays... call for Fish & Chips. They are served as a dinner and never fail to be prepared for delicious enjoyment!This is our neighborhood gem not to be overlooked.
We got dinner and a show! Our waiter had all kinds of magic tricks. He was so nice and the food was great. We definitely will be going back!Edit: we went back a second time and our experience was just as good as the first. We had a busy evening and needed a quick meal. I didnt realize they closed an hour earlier than I thought until we were almost done. They never made us feel rushed even though they were about to close. Our waitress was wonderful.
Good art best ok. What a shame from pike 6-7 years ago. Used to be like 7 rooms full of people now 1 room usually empty. Have off brand soft drink (barf). Cheaper quality food. Below average is being nice.
This restaurant deserves a heck of a higher rating. Service here is absolutely fantastic. Soft drinks refilled very quickly, almost instantly. Food is served relatively quickly. Prices are very reasonable. Qualify of the food is fantastic. Everything here is fresh. Servers are very warm and friendly. Portion sizes are good. And an abundant amount of parking, very easy to find.

This place has been here as long as I can remember. Big menu with Greek and American food. Went recently and had a gyro platter. The prices are good and the meals are good portions. Awesome dessert! This place is a must if you are in town.

I dined here and had a wonderful experience. The service was quick the server was impressive. I ordered breakfast and everything was cooked perfectly! The eggs were fluffy and delicious and the bacon was crispy. Im a very picky eater and was absolutely satisfied. My son who is also a picky eater enjoyed everything. The food here is absolutely delicious. The service here is equally quick. Drinks get filled up quickly. I had a gyro that was heavenly. Checkout is hassel free and quick. There is also an a lot of deserts to chose from including black and whites - my favorite. Also lots of parking, and easily accessible off of 595.
The food was delicious both times we have come. Theyre very accommodating (when not busy) and were so pleased I ate my entire meal, they gave me a cookie! The food is diner food, but its great diner food, and the service is exceptional, welcoming, efficient and like family. We will surely come again.
Its a great place to eat. Food is always good and always prepared the way you ask for it. Prepared quickly, but never so fast that you dont have time to wash your hands or carry on a conversation before arrival. Its not like Allys.

Your archetypal diner with everything you expect and more. Breakfast round the clock and all the favourites, with a distinctive Greek flair behind it. If youre an omelet fan who doesnt mind a bit of spicy heat, like I am, I particularly recommend their jalapeno omelet; youll get at least two VERY tasty meals from it!

How can the rating not be higher? The food and service are fantastic here! Our server already knows us. Today I had a 1/2 lb burger with sauteed onions and fries; my wife had her gyro and pea soup. Food came out quickly and very tasty. This is not our our first time here, and certainly not our last.
I love 84 Diner. I live in the Charlotte, North Carolina area. Every time I come down to Davie to see my daughter and grandchildren. I always stop in the Diner at least once every trip.
Yum! My son and I went for lunch because I wanted a gyro and he didnt...there is something on the menu for everyone! Service was quick and friendly and we thought our food was delicious and priced just right! I love my gyro platter, it came with a wonderful Greek salad and fries AND a choice of soup. I was stuffed. My son had a deluxe Burger that also filled him up and he gave 2 thumbs up.My favorite was the choice of mouth watering desserts...I am raving here about the absolutely delicious lemon desert. This unassuming yellow bump on the plate had a perfectly sweet and tart mousse on a layer of cake, my mouth is watering just writing about it, so wonderful!I hope you will try this place! We found good service, hot, fresh reasonably priced tasty food and amazing dessert here!
I had the biscuits N gravy. They were delicious. Service was fast and friendly. My friends and I like to meet there before we go ridin. they always put up with our nonsense. Even when we hang for a couple of hours. Owner loves his motorcycle, parks it right in the back of the restaurant.

I really enjoyed Diner 84. The food was excellent and my server John was outstanding and made me feel like I was the only person he was serving...lol. What I really loved was the fact that they had so many things on the menu to choose from and my kids had no problem choosing what they wanted. Looks like its gonna be a weekly place where our family will gather.P.

Im annoyed by the service, but the food is okay. I prefer to pick up my breakfast and enjoy it away from the crowd of this place. However, most weekends when I call they never pick up the phone. Ive had to go to the restaurant and place the order inside and wait. As a test I dialed the restaurant while sitting inside the place, and I hear it ring loudly and repeatedly but no one stops to pick it up. How can you call yourself a restaurant with takeout if no one there picks up the phone? If it continues to happen, I will refrain from eating here all together.
This is my favorite breakfast and lunch place and even though it has new owners the food and service continue to be great.
Ordered meatloaf after asking the waiter about their meatloaf, she assured me they had a good meatloaf.. This was a mistake as on first bite found it to be chewy so tried again from a different slice and same chewy pieces I spit out on napkin. I called waitress she called the Manager and i showed the junk and grizzle that was inside and so I changed to roast beef and this was not good either it had hard fatty edge and an odd taste so ate the mashed potato and that was it. Did not complain paid full price and left. My last time to this place. July 14, 2017 . the staff was ok nice but food does not cut it..

This is our Saturday morning breakfast choice after shooting sporting clays at Markaham park for the past 2 years. The food is always good the menu is extensive the service has always been superior and best of all the prices are extraordinary low for the quality of food provided. Do yourself a favor and visit when your in the area.
Matzah Ball Soup was out of this world and Bagel Nova Cream cheese not worth the price. Regular bagel shop would be better other then that everything was good wife enjoyed her meal and was nice being able to get beakfast at dinner time
What happened to this place? Havent been there for about three years, was great all around then. Recently stopped in for lunch, service was good, the food has went way south since last visit. Sad.
Used to always stop in and get the waldorf salad. USED TO BE top notch. The ladies were always nice and accommodating. However, being gone from the area for almost a year and recently stopping in for that salad to find new owners I guess. Well the salad had nothing to do with a Waldorf. No apples no rasins, and no sweet vinaigrette. Instead it had cut up strawberries around the sides and tomatoes, the chicken was normal, but it was simply like an Italian vinaigrette. A 12 dollar salad that i could of tossed together at home for 5 bucks. My wife had the gyro of which the meat was very bland and the sauce was chunky with parts of cucumbers within. Service was okay although very uncomfortable listening to the male talk to other patrons about the guy who he was hot for. Unfortunately we will be passing on a return visit to the place. I dont get why you would take over a good place and then cheap put on things. You cant stay in business long like that sorry to say. Best of luck just trying to give a honest review.

By far the worst food around. Ive lived in Davie for 21 years and 84 diner is arguably the worst food within town limits. I dont know why I keep giving them chances but this previous time really lowered the bar. Spanish omlette was served with the eggs sitting in salsa water with soggy hash browns. Do yourself a favor and head to Allys down the road for actual good food. At this point I would highly recommend waffle house in its place.
Food is good and I am always surprised by how FAST it comes out. The place is also huge for a diner so there is never a wait to sit. The servers are about average, what you expect at most diners. Good prices. We stopped eating there though because the owner can be a jerk.
Best pancakes Ive ever eaten, friendly and clean. Its a two hour ride for me but the pancakes are worth. If you ever being close to that place, have a stop there.

I think this establishment is overrated. The food isnt any better or any worse than any other restaurant. The waitress seemed at a loss at times. We were a party of eight so it wasnt as if we were a huge amount of people. I will think about going back but Im not in any hurry.

This is my second time there. I had to go back a second time to make sure what I saw was correct. I couldn’t believe it!The staff are friendly but they look, frantic and overworked. Boss is a lunatic, he yells at staff and treats them like garbage. Some are disabled or elderly. He clearly has no respect for them. He gives out cookies to make up for his disgusting personality!! One of his employees is extremely rude. Ana has a mean face and a nasty attitude! The food is ok nothing to brag about but Beware they are not clean. The towels they use to clean I notice have no disinfectant what so ever.I will absolutely not waste my time and money at a filthy place where and the Boss mistreats disabled / elderly staff. If he appears to be friendly, wait a few mins he will explode...Observe you’ll see!

Slow service but decent food for the price
DO NOT EAT HERE! The only reason there is a one star rating is because there is nothing less to give. Lets start with the only positive thing, our server. She was very nice and handled 5 large groups the best she could. Poor thing was literally dripping sweat. (Seemed VERY over worked). Now, the food is NOT worth what it is priced. I ordered two Gyro Platters and they placed the meat on top of the French fries. They were drenched in grease and so soggy it seemed undercooked. The rest of the food was okay in taste but not worth the price. My kids asked for cheese on their scrambled eggs and they charged $1.10 for cheese!!!! Typically cheese is $.50-$.75 for extra cheese. We asked for an extra side of bacon and they charged $4.00 for 3 VERY small pieces of bacon. Then the best part, we speak to the manger or possible owner, and he was literally insulted when we mentioned all of our complaints. He looked at us and did not a thing to please us as a his customers. I was def. not asking for a refund but a simple apology and a better attitude from him and his hostess would have sufficed.
Service is always attentive! Managment has really cut back from its hey day. Seems to be in a slump. Have patronized 84 for 15 yrs. Deserts no longer worth a trip. Greek flare is flamed out. Still a good place to get your breakfast on. Large groups could get the variety of mediocre food fast served by a pleasent wait staff. Just has cut corners too much.

Awful food. Stellar service. Host was very pleasant. Waiter was quick, friendly and did a ton of magic tricks for my kids at the end of our meal. Unfortunately the food killed it for us. The omelet I had had burned bacon in it. My hasbrowns were the worst I have ever had. They tasted like burned grease. My kids wouldnt even eat them. I asked for grits instead but they were out so I got oatmeal. We had 2 kids pancakes. One was burned and all 4 pieces of bacon were burned. I sent 2 back and remake was fine. We had biscuits and gravy that were simply awful. The biscuits were partially raw and they along with gravy were just bad. The tuna fish was literally just mayo and tuna. When we went to pay, after we had already paid the host (possibly co-owner?) asked how the food was. So I told him. He sounded surprised, was very apologetic and said if he had known before we paid he would have given us a discount. He said he would talk to the cook. He also said if we gave them a try again he could assure us the food would not be like that. Dont know if we will. This is another place that has been here forever and used to be great. Very disappointing.

The staff is super friendly here, but I do not think its a very clean place. They brought my toddler a bowl of dry cerel in a bowl that was still dirty with oatmeal from someone else. It is gross to think theyd give a child a bowl with food remains from someone else in it. Absolutely disgusting! There eggs and bacon is horrible. Id perfer cracker barrel to here any day of the week.
