I absolutely love this store! The couple running it are so friendly, attentive, and helpful. I was given unsolicited, but very welcomed, detailed instruction on cooking the dish I was planning to make. So very nice. I wish I could take the couple home with me to teach me how to cook Indian. I will be sure to be back!♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️😃
This grocery store is really perk at the service. We were traveling late night to Michigan with kids and was really in need for food. The store was already closed but the owner Prakash kept it open for more than 1 hour and offered us good time for grocery and even helped with ready to eat food. He helped us to give hot food so that everyone can eat. Beyond groceries, his well gesture and very kind service made our food hunt very easy. I would really recommend to visit here for best in quality food and groceries.
This store is the most delightful gem. I don’t think I’ve ever had a more enjoyable shopping experience in my whole life. After my first visit, I feel like the owners are my new friends, plus they sent me home with all these fresh ingredients and homemade dishes that are really making my day. I can’t wait to go back.
Exceptionally neat and clean store. Store has a sophisticated vibe to it in a very nice way. Fresh produce, and a variety of fresh produce available. Small corner for kids to play, Adults to sit and watch over. A lot of Chinese and Japanese items. A nice non invasive smell welcomes you as you enter. Lots of mutton, lamb, fish etc available.
I love it. I find everything I am looking for. The storekeeper couple is super nice and they help and answer my questions professionally. If there is something I do not find they can order it for me with no extra charge. The location is great too. Definitely I recommend it.
I just had a truly wonderful visit here today. I only needed some basmati and was warmly greeted by the owner, Peter. Both he and his store are jewels! Though ostensibly Indian, do NOT mistake this place for just another Asian/Indian grocery. While small, its bright, clean, neat and packed with an eclectic mix of goods (even some pasta and olive oil). Peter lived and worked in Japan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and New York, and besides English, he speaks Japanese, Mandarin and Cantonese (8 languages total), and was happy to show me some of his Japanese goods -- e.g. natto (!), frozen renkon, an oden set, kamaboko, Bulldog tonkatsu sauce, assorted candies and snacks, even daifuku! Hes enthusiastic about carrying anything you want, just let him know, he wants to have products from all Asian cultures available. Of course, I left with more than just some basmati, and plan on visiting as often as I can!
Owners are nice and they have a great selection! Would reccomend! They store doesnt pressure you into anything like memberships like bigger stores. Overall great experience.
If you are a fan Asian snacks and elusive spices, Astha is the motherlode. The proprietors of the business are a very sweet and lovely older couple who make you feel at home and guide you towards products they think you may enjoy.Personal favorites include the wide range of Pocky flavors, their house herbal tea, mochi ice cream, savory samosas, and Indian cotton candy treat. Unlike American cotton candy, theirs features hints of saffron and slivers of nuts. A unique experience for an adventurous palette.
Great product selection! The owners are super nice and very helpful.
What an amazing experience at this beautiful store! They have a vast array of international foods and have extensive knowledge on how to cook with them. In addition to the great food and prices, they have unique gifts. I felt so welcomed and really enjoyed chatting with the store owners. Visit “Astha” and you’ll be so glad you did!
We were so happy to find this absolutely fabulous Indian grocery. It’s a 4 hour drive from up north where we live, but well worth it! We’re happy to know that the owners will ship, but visiting in person has its rewards! The welcoming owners will, if you want, help you find things and even give you cooking advice. They have a wide and complete variety of Indian food as well as unique food from other parts of the world. For Indian cooking, there is everything that’s hard to find up here: fresh produce like curry leaves, green mango, and bitter mellon. There are frozen foods like goat, samosas, and Momos. There are excellent spices, chapatis, and Indian treats. And more! The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere in the shop is very inviting. We couldn’t recommend it any more highly.
Best Indian grocery experience ever! Owners were so friendly and did not make me feel intimidated. I learned so much and got exactly what I needed, in addition to new ideas for recipes I could make with the items I purchased. I will be back for sure.
Good selection for my needs and the lady behind the counter (who co-owns it with her husband) was absolutely lovely. Will have to swing by here again when Im in the area.
Amazing owners who are very helpful and provide great cooking tips!
My new favorite store. The owners are so kind and knowledgeable. They also will educate you and help you shop!
Super friendly staff and a wonderful selection of Asian items.
Very friendly always happy to stop in there when Im in that area hadnt been there in a while but was very happy to be recognized and greeted when I walked in
The owners are very friendly and informative about their products! Will shop here regularly!
My wife and I shopped at Astha for the first time today. I was interested in learning how to make real Indian Chai tea for the first time. The owner, Prakash, came from behind the counter and asked for my shopping list and grabbed a basket and started shopping for me. LOL. After finding all of the ingredients and some others he recommended, he gave me thorough instructions for making the Chai and for storing the spices. He then asked my wife what ailments, if any, she has and upon finding that she has arthritis in her knee, Prakash’s wife came out and showed us the Tumeric and talked to us, in depth, about health and good foods and how to use the spice to improve her knee. They were both delightful and we will be coming back after I master Chai and start to learn how to make authentic Tiki Masala!
Wonderful customer service! The owners are so willing to answer my questions, explain a new recipe or suggest new items to try based on what they know my family enjoys. I always feel so welcomed when I walk in and always leave with a new favorite staple to add to our meals.
Great selection and owners are very friendly and helpful
I highly recommend this little shop for all your hard-to-find eastern ingredients. Wonderful selection and friendly shop owners are always a joy when I visit.
First time. Very wonderful people. Will definitely be back (if my stomach handles the heat :))
This place is the best. The owner has samples set out for many of the snacks since most of us havent tried them before. Along with this, the customer service is very friendly and they even offer free water for anyone who wants or needs it. They made some recommendations on stuff and I loved everything. Great atmosphere and wonderful personality from the owner. I recommend this for anyone hoping to try middle Eastern foods and goodies.
First time at the store was a delight. Very kind owners. Help my husband and I pick out some yummies to try! Thank you so much!
What a great experience! She helped me find what I was looking for and taught me about the products and how to cook them. Showed me options to dip the naan I wanted and introduced me to easy, vegetarian Indian meals and snacks. She was so nice, helpful, and genuine. All around great customer service experience along with a great selection of food!
Always very friendly service. Owner knows my son by name. Very helpful and knowledgeable about their products and take time to explain recipes and health benefits about certain products. Favorite store in DePere! Highly recommended!
The folks who own this store could not be more friendly and sincere. They have the finest curry dishes i have ever purchased at a store. A must visit for anyone interested in the flavors of Asia.
Peter and Nilam are so incredible helpful, and kind! They both are amazing recourse for Indian ingredients, cooking and cuisine! I always find what I am looking for and MORE when I go to their store. Astha market is a wonderful addition to De Pere that adds culture and diversity! Thank you Astha!
Nice grocery store with owner being so nice and generous. Drawback is that the price is too high
Great store, tons of fresh produce at very reasonable prices. The owner is very kind, and took time to explain all of the ingredients, provided YouTube links to videos for preparing them, and made some excellent recommendations- we tried some new things and it was great! Astha is a wonderful new asset to De Pere.
The owner is a wonderful man full of interesting stories. I visited for the first time today and regret not seeing this store before! It is a hidden gem that is so conveniently located in west De Pere. Asthā carries every basic Asian cooking item you could need. I will be happily returning to this store.
They have wonderfull customer service he is so sweet
Interesting Indian grocery. Owners are very knowledgeable
Customer service poor and product catalog not much. Items was priced double than other stores.
They sell you expired food products. I would never recommend.
The most clean and well maintained Indian grocery store in the fox valley
Its amazing! 100% recommend!
Very helpful owners! Must stop for a wide variety of eastern spices and food products.
Amazing store with wide selection!
Proprietor is very friendly and helpful. I went there to find garam masala and ended up buying a lot of other spices due to the incredibly reasonable prices when compared to a grocery store. And I learned about a new vegetable! Great addition to the community.
Wonderful customer service, fresh produce, and numerous foreign foods! Check it out! Buy local
We love this place!
