Nice Arabic, persian, and middle eastern bookshop near Detroit. It has a mix of secular and religious books, from novels (especially Lebanese literature) to poetry to mostly Shia Islam, but a few Sunni and even Christian books ( including the bible in Arabic). A bit disorganized, but the shop has works otherwise not easily available in the USA. It didnt really have what I was specifically looking for, but it does have an otherwise broad selection.

We went into the store on a whim today and really enjoyed the experience. The volume of books and variety of topics was very impressive. The owner was very helpful and extremely sweet to my kids. We found some great books to help teach the kids Arabic! I look forward to returning again to explore the rest of the subjects available and buy more!

I walked in with my husband and two kids (behaving well) to look around and the man came over and seemed agitated. One of my boys was looking at a book gently and he told him he wasnt allowed to look at the books. We left without buying anything because he made it uncomfortable. I am looking for childrens books in arabic and will be purchasing online.

I know many of the reviews are negative. Maybe its a new owner or the owner changed his ways. But the shopkeeper was extremely kind and even gifted an extra book because I purchased multiple books. Dont let these reviews scare you, go and make a judgment for yourself.

I went to this bookstore to shop for several Arabic books. The store has lots of book stock, not very organized, and many books arent maintained on shelves well (dust, yellow covers, etc). The real problem is the shop owner. An old fat man who talks to you like garbage. I asked him to show me where certain books are and he wont even get off his chair!! Hell bug you every 5 minutes by asking you so nothing you like yet? - kind of offensive. I finally told him that I cant find books easily, so he asked me to go to a nearby bookstore if I like since theyre more organized! He actually told me that people buy from him $1000 worth of books at a time and that hes not interested in someone who buys $10-15 worth. I wanted to buy a $20 overpriced book (available on internet for $15) and asked for a promotional discount as a first time customer, for which he declined. I politely told him that Ill come back later, so he responded go and dont come back again!. I didnt think I would. This kind of business (book selling) is really aimed to the educated segment of society. My advice for Middle eastern book store: if you need to make business, you need to study customer service and stop acting like a child whos trying to protect his toys from other kids. Also, learning some manners will help. I do NOT recommend this business to anyone unless youre ready to deal with rude customer service. Save your dignity by shopping online!

I went to this bookstore last week, after reading the comments here I was very hesitant to do so !!! The rude owner is no longer there, his partner is the one I met. Hes a very kind man, very educated and very easy going to deal with ... hes under a lot of pressure to sell his awesome bookstore and replace it by a shawarma and falafel resturant !!!! I recommend everyone to go and check this bookstore and if you like reading like I do, you will have a beautiful experience everytime you walk through the diverse collection of books.The library a great variety of books, and the owner of Uncle Abu Mohammed from the best that is, an excellent reader and dialogue with him during the selection of books from the coolest what ... the reading has a project and a hobby more than just work and profit ... I would advise everyone to support Halparwa community Arabic, we have a lot of restaurants and cafes hookah in Detroit, we should at least have one library to read and read

The library has many valuable books, and the people who used to deal stupidly with people are gone, and now the library has a good person and a wonderful person, but unfortunately it lacks everything new.
