Not an honest, or even close to honest, service department. I took the car in for check engine and emissions warning lights. I asked them to look over some other items too, while there. They quoted me over $2,000 to replace hoses and rear brakes. They said they cant even diagnose the warning lights until the hose work was done for $1200. I was suspicious so took the car back and over to a trusted garage. Rear brakes are FINE. Hoses had dirt and oil on them but once cleaned up and retightened, were also fine. Car is running great now. The reputable garage I deal with was shocked at what Lafontaine attempted to pull on me. I will never go back and would strongly recommend you avoid this dealership.
Me and my wife were fresh out of a BK and in the market for a vehicle. We got many offers in the mail, but 1 stood out. It was for LaFontaine. I called and chatted with Christian. He was very nice and straight forward with me and my wife. I told me that we were coming from Monroe and didn’t want to waste our time and his. He told me straight up that he sealed with over 100 banks that would be able to help us. I was to sure about this because we heard the same thing from other dealerships. We made the appointment with him and the day came. We got there around 11:30 and he took us right in and started to work. With in the he he said he got us approved and all we needed to do was drive a few cars he selected for us. After that it was a done deal. We will be returning for our next vehicle. We will drive from the northernmost part of Michigan to see him. Him and the finance guy were awesome. Thank you so much
I thought I made a good choice with this location but I was obviously wrong. I feel like everything that was told to me was a lie just to get a sale. The mileage on the car does not match my sales papers. I was told my car would be clean before I left with the vehicle and it wasn’t. Then I was offered a full detail at any time because it wasn’t serviced properly. So when I brought the car back to get my plate and have my car detailed they only vacuumed out my car and then as a slap in the face they didn’t put my driver and backseat driver side floor mats back. Now I been calling for a week to get them back and now I’m getting the run around. Now I’m starting to feel like I might have bought a lemon. So I pray nothing is wrong with the car considering I am a single mother with 3 children who explained to the sales representative that I needed reliable transportation to get my children back and forth to school. All in all I just feel like I was lied to about everything just to get a sale.
I have nothing great things to say. This dealership and the men and women there are all great. Just to name few, Dave & Christian. They are very good. Everyone makes you feel special.
À little afraid to allow my vehicle to go for anything including a Recall ; LaFontaine made me feel at ease, but then the request came to possibly keep the vehicle overnight because there was not a part. I had already told LaFontaine that I was at work. Then LaFontaine took the time to locate the part, before getting the off of work, very grateful . LaFontaine took the time to pick me up from my employment to take me to pick up the vehicle. Well Done!
Amazing dealership! I made an error on my paperwork that would have cost me a few thousand dollars. Before I noticed the error Bryant Thomas the finance manager stayed true to their word, had me come in and saved my butt!The salesman Brennon Thompson, although a rookie, was very diligent. He answered all my questions. Taking the time to quickly find the answers to the few he was unsure about.
This was my second time buying from this location because I had the best salesman on earth! Rudy Desantis was honest, not pushy, explained every step of the purchase process and gave me good solid advice and guidance on how to achieve my credit goals so that I could get the vehicle I wanted. Usually I hate going through the buying process but both times it was smooth and professional. I left feeling happy and confident in my purchase decision. Rudy is the perfect salesman, I am his customer for life.
Im not to happy with the Service Dept. representative. Not the best people skills. I felt like I was forcing the representative to do his job by bringing my vehicle to LaFontaine Volkswagen of Dearborn and get inspection and oil change. Overall, I make all my service appointments at the Dearborn location, convenient and close from home; Im just a little disappointed at the customer service. Greeted very promptly. The needed part was available and replacing it took less than an hour. Sat in the very comfortable waiting area. Dave and the service team did a great job!

Where do I start. First of all they had to fix a piece of plastic in the sunroof because it wouldnt close. This took them a week and rushed out the car to me without cleaning it, even though they claimed to have cleaned it. There was cigarette ash and stains everywhere so I took it back and had them clean it a second time. Also the Finance Manager, Bryant Thomas, added the gold warranty onto my bill without my permission. That is a $2,300 charge so keep that in mind. Also I paid $2,500 as a down payment, still have the receipt. But on my contract they claim that I only put down $2,000. The price of the car was $14,500 when we saw it online, but $16,500 on my contract. On top of all that, they also got my address wrong on the contract. They are frauds and thieves, I will be reporting this to someone higher up because no one there, except the sales woman, knows how to do their job. Either that or they are totally evil.

Very polite and helpful customer service. I only gave four out of five because my air pressure wasn’t checked during service and I can notice when the pressure is off. I had to stop and have the pressure checked and corrected elsewhere before heading out of town the following day. However, it was very clean in the service center and COVID safe. I we definitely bring my vehicle back in the future for service. Thank you

Although I was treated well by Aaron, my service manager, this was the first and last time I will use the service department. When I dropped off the keys the night before, the night owl envelope stated that the diagnostic charge of $145 would be applied to the repair. There were several items wrong with the car (I brought it in after discovering coolant dripping under the car) and the sum of the work was significantly costlier than the vehicle was worth (a 2004 beetle). So we opted for only one item to be corrected, a brake issue.When my credit card was charged, I discovered that the diagnostic cost was still included. When I confronted Aaron, he claimed that his manager had refused to apply the diagnostic charge to the repair cost (and yes, the brake work was more than $145). The reason? I had not had work done on the original reason I brought the vehicle in for. Ill repeat that: because I didnt agree to the $1000+ repair of the coolant leak, but still paid for over $150 in repairs, I also had to pay the $145 diagnostic charge. There was no disclaimer on the envelope regarding how the diagnostic charge would (or would not) be applied, so I question the honesty of this extra $145 charge. Im happy to report that I was contacted by the dealerships service manager, who explained why the charge was not deducted from the total cost of the repairs. Since this had not been made clear to me prior to the work being done, the diagnostic charge was refunded promptly. Thanks, Jason.

Went to go test drive a GTI and the sales rep kept trying to push me to buy a pre-owned, half dented GTI because Im young and he didnt think a new one would be in my price range. It was only after he pulled my credit without asking that he realized I was a serious buyer. Wont do business with them again.Update: Tried to get my vehicle serviced here for an oil change and possible suspension fix and didn’t get any answers as to why my appointment couldn’t be honored. Why are you allowing people to make appointments online and then not honoring them in person. I had to take time off to just be talked down to by the service staff. Where’s your customer service?
Some people would say dont take your car to the dealer, all because of cost. But I say you get what you pay for. The dealership is always professional and straight forward. They always do a superb job! No complaints here.

Was able to make an appointment quickly for my last maint service. The service dept was busy, but I was helped promptly. My car was completed in less than an hour (quicker than usual). I wasnt thrilled with the price; went up about $25 from last time. Service team is very friendly and helpful; they make you feel welcome.
Recall service work, oil & cabin filter change performed while I waited. Was disappointed that they didnt wash my car like they usually do.
Happy with the service that was done on my car.But was very disappointed with the wearing of masks.I would say that not more than half of the employees wore masks!!!!

We just baught a used car here. First they gave us the car saying it had an inspection done. Told us the low pressure light was on, because they just refilled it and it had to reset. Then they had it in the shop (almost 2 weeks) because the heat was not working. My son has had it for about a week now and the warning light for the brakes is on. Would never recommend this place, not even tomy worst enemy
2/10: Here we go again!!! First my daughters car was sold to her not working properly and now mine. I had my car for 4 months and now its having issues. I left work early to have it looked at. The service team did try to fix it but couldnt. They suggested I go/contact a Buick dealership. I was also assured that it would be at no cost to me since I havent had it that long. I have NOT heard back from anyone as of yet. My issue may seem small but it is obstruct my vision while driving. I will be filing a formal complaint and getting my own truck fixed!Ps. my daughter issue did get taken care of, but I believe it was only because I made a fuss. They originally ignore/act like it was something we were making up...Very disappointing to have this happen again!

Chris is a great sales person. I contacted 4 different manufactures through their websites, Chris & VW was one of two to respond to my inquiry & the only one that would allow me to make the purchase from the comfort of my home. The car was delivered a few days later & its fabulous.
My experience here with the service department was phenomenal, the guys here were very nice and thorough with the service that was needed on my vehicle and was able to accurately diagnose what’s wrong and fix the problem in a sufficient time. I’ve felt the manager and the service advisor went above and beyond with the customer service and made sure that I was well taken care of. The loaner vehicle I was giving to drive so I can get back and forth from work was a nice vehicle as well both of the guys name was Dave that took care of me, there’s a Dave that’s the manager and Dave at the service counter when you check in your vehicle to let him know what’s wrong, I’ve went to 2 other Volkswagen dealerships and did not receive the experience I experienced here I loved my experience and will be returning for future service needs and maintenance for my car here. Had problems with my drivers side window wiper. The service said they fixed it. It came off while I was driving down I75 in a horrible rain storm. Not happy

Sales staff all the way up through managers are rude and inconsiderate. They were dishonest and when called out, dismissive and disrespectful. When vehicle damage was noted on a car they showed me on their lot, they made no effort to remedy it. Post purchase they will treat you like garbage. They’re bad people. If you can find the car you want elsewhere, buy it (their words, not mine).

My experience at your wonderful LaFontain Dealership in Dearborn, was not a pleasant one.Upon arriving, I was met by service department rep.. I told him that I needed an oil change and could they replace my key pad battery. There was a repairman inside the service area waiting for me to get out of my car. He drove my car to the repair area. And while there I filled an application for repairs for my car.Long story short this repairman damaged my car on the passenger side at the back by the window. I will never go back there. I spoke with a representive while there and he told me to bring my car back the next day. I also spoke with Mr. Dave Davis the manager, he als told me to bring my car back. I refused to return there . The management is Awesome, but you have a problem with someone who should not be there. I was told that they was going to tap up things that was a little low windshield wiper fluid was still low. Wipers not in good shape. It would have been nice if they had washed the excess fluid off the engine. So I wouldnt have to smell it. The guy that greet you when you pull in was very nice.

The service department at LaFontaine Volkswagen is second to none. The crew always steps up with recommendations that keep my 2015 Golf TDI Sportwagen performing like new. Recently they provided my full service and a service recall modification for the pesky panoramic sunroof leak. They even got me a loaner so I could make it to a work appointment on time! The service was outstanding.
I went for my 70000 maintenance for my Volkswagen Tiguan 2013; they came back to let me know that I needed some additional work done, I needed shocks all the way around, and my check engine light was on. They quoted me an 800$ bill. I took it somewhere else to find out that it was my sway bars and my gas cap. I will never come back to that dealership again! I paid 500$ and some change. And never said there was a tire in there, also asked for a tire rotation which hosted me an additional 25$. ALWAYS GET A SECOND OPINION, NEVER BELIEVE YOUR FIRST.

I just had my 1 year service for a 2019 Golf R. The online appointment and regular serice went well, no issues there.But I have specified that I hear noises coming from the front axle suspension and that was not fixed. The technicians test drove the car and apparently did not hear anything. I hope this is not because the car is still under warranty ...The car was just handed over and I was told they could not find anything. The noise is still there when I go aver big bumps at low speed.
Everything was great. Except the car arrived and it squeaks and rides like a truck. Im thinking they didnt take the blocks of the springs.

I bought a Jetta and I am happy with the car. The service was fast and efficient. Very little waiting. The customer waiting area is comfortable and clean. There is hand sanitizer available. Since my son who also bought Jetta from there referred me to buy a Jetta he was given a Volkswagen hat. My questions were answered and after I pointed out a panel that had a slight bow the service department promptly ordered a new one for me. My new Jetta has the backup camera and when I plug in my Android to the port my Google maps provides navigation on the screen. I have a travel job so I really like that feature. I took the 0% interest rate over 72 months. The payment is affordable. I like the way the car handles and rides. We have had Volkswagens in the past and I have always been impressed with the quality of there cars.
I wish I could give less than one star at this point. Buying my car was perfect the sales team and finance team is phenomenal. My service advisor on the other hand was terrible. Didn’t want to answer any of my questions or explain my service warranty. Also was upset that he had to call around and get my pop filter since I drive an Audi and they don’t stock those regularly. The whole experience was pathetic and the service staffing was too worried about what type of pizza they were getting for lunch that day than to actually help the customers. I would love to say the service manager was helpful, but he wasn’t even approachable since he had one of the service techs in his office joking and laughing instead of monitoring his other terrible staff. I won’t be giving this dealership my money anymore unfortunately.

Somewhat friendly staff but they dont appear to be knowledgeable of prices and service concern . And they never try to assist in providing the correct information needed . I have spoken to 3 different service advisors at this location and they have all given different prices for the same service . All prices were different than another 2 VW Service locations Ive called . Not happy with this location. Now I have to drive 40 min to the next location who was more helpful

Whenever looking for new vehicles having been in the industry its initially a dreaded, dreary experience. However, LaFontaine Volkswagen made the overall experience wonderful. I stopped in to the showroom late one evening just prior to closing and was greeted by a salesperson named Marissa Franz. She was very professional not pushy at all. I scheduled a test drive the following morning for an SUV and Jetta. I liked the Jetta SEL, gathered information from Marissa and left to think things over. Not one to make hasty on the spot decisions. I knew what I wanted to pay for a vehicle. I knew the features, performance I was looking for too. I visited several other dealerships, different manufacturers, and test drove different models prior to making my decision. The vehicle warranty too played a major role in my decision making. All along Marissa was not pushy at all, followed up, answered questions. I also dealt with the sales manager Dennis Wagnitz who too was a pleasure to work with. After visiting the showroom I too received a follow up email from the dealership General Manager. Felt like one of the family regardless if I purchased or not.
