Weve used Jan Door twice for garage door replacements on two houses. Fantastic customer service and even better installation. Installer arrived precisely at the scheduled time and was finished with the job within an hour. I dont forsee needing to use this company ever again on our home, which speaks volumes. I would recommend to anyone needing a new garage door. Ignore any of the negative reviews... these people are great!

Had a delivery in a tractor trailer. Driveway to the place is after the building. Take your time approaching, and if need be there is a middle lane to stall. Slim going to the back, but there is an easy turn around behind the building. Workers were on top of it, had me unloaded quickly. Hope to have a delivery there again.

Jan DoorEek! Methinks not.I contacted Jan Door because when previously used the technician was polite and professional. Something has now changed. Although I called as early as 9AM; I was scheduled (by Jan Door) for an appointment between 12 PM - 4PM. Hence, I waited all day. After 4 PM I received a call (I guess it was the technician) advising, ah, we wont be able to make it there today. No apology, no reason, just, we cant make it today, AFTER the appointment time! He further said, I could schedule you for tomorrow though, how bout early?Note to Jan Door:Youre not the only garage business in town....I wont call again.Youre rolling now - got any more to add?I give zero stars...UPDATE: After reading the response from the owner of Jan Door (to my review), I was compelled to call. I spoke briefly to Scott, who apologized to me for the manner in which the service call (or lack thereof) was handled. This spoke volumes to me. A business is only as good as its customer service. Word of mouth travels fast. When a good job is done, it should be mentioned, as well as when one misses the mark and needs to improve. We all miss the mark sometimes. True character is shown when we admit we make mistakes, but will continue to try and do better. Thank you Scott for your candor and willingness to do better. For this, I give you FIVE PLUS STARS!

Bought some wall mounted garage door openers from them. They had a great price and are local. Were great at scheduling my installation. And the installer was very thorough on explaining how everything worked and how to set all of the remotes and the keypads. All you could have asked for in service!

If you order anything from here, I would do it at the shop. We ordered a garage door from here over the phone, they said all we would need to pick it up is the last name. Well when we made it here they could not find anything, well after about half hour later they finally found our order. This was the first time Ive been here, it will most likely be my last.

Service techs Keith and Dave were great in repairing the broken spring on my original 1950s garage door (Solid Wood) with the original track and openers. Dave completed the repair quickly once he had the correct spring for my 70 year old door.

Just had a Lifestyle screen door installed on my garage and Im very pleased with the product. Its easy to use and maintain, a no brainer for anyone that likes to use their garage space and keep the bugs out.

So, I went to Jan Door on Warren Ave. yesterday at 4:10pm after a very busy work day. They advertise that they close at 4:30pm so I knew I didnt have much time to look around. Well...when I got there, I was met by a very rude man who didnt want to show me the showroom. He looked at the clock and said its the end of the day & I said yes I know, my contractor sent me to look at your doors. The man said I dont know why he sent to us. I was taken aback he then said you could have just looked online. Its not the same I said want to see them in person & you have a showroom, isnt that for showing customers? I need 2 exterior doors & 2 storm doors & a garage door. He said well not when its the end of the day. As he walked me to the showroom he proceeded to say we no longer carry any of these doors. I wondered, why are they still on display? Wow, we all have long days, bad days but the lack of customer service at this place is off the charts. I could tell from the moment I walked in that I wasnt welcome. I know you are tired and ready to go home, so am I but do your job! I understand I showed up at the end of the day but its a week/work day & you close early at 4:30 be polite and understanding, and let me look around for 15mins & then remind me that the showroom is closing. Treating customers like trash isnt the right way to do business! I will never purchase a single thing from Jan Doors!

Supposedly according to google, they close at 4:30. It was 4:25 i needed a garage door motor belt for a commercial door and they had the office locked. Yeah i mean everyone hates last minute customers, but it was a off the shelf product. Not good for business

I called to get in estimate from some lady that really heated her job. SHE REALLY got under my skin as she did not want to help me. I WILL never do business here

Great people from start to finish

Jan Doors did great work for us in the past so when our garage door broke we called them. We were told they would call when they were on the way. After the appointment window passed we called the office and spoke with Craig. He said they came out. However, we were home waiting the entire time. Still, we tried to schedule another appointment because of their service in the past but Craig was rude and simply said they “did not want our business”. We called B&M Garage Services and they sent Marvin. He came out immediately and did an exceptional job—by far the most knowledgeable in the business.Jan Doors does not value their customers.

Been waiting for over a month for a quote. I get it they are busy. I dont have an issue waiting. My issue is with the gal who receives the phone calls. Im not sure what her issue was, but she basically belittled me and called me a liar. Then she went on to put me on speaker for the rest of the personal to hear the conversation. Class act Jan Door. Class Act.

Went into the store, was told that I have to make an appointment for someone come to my house for a quote. I left info with them and was told someone will call me in a few days. I waited a week and no call.... I decided to call them myself and was able to speak with the person who comes out and does the quote. He said he would call me later in the week and NEVER received a call. I guess they font want my business.

Never again. Unprofessional staff. Overpriced, with poor quality. Had to have the come out 5 time to fix their faulty steel door/frame. Vagabonds were able to pop the door open due to the poor install service. The good thing is they came 5 times and finally fixed it.

5/26/20 another great service visit by the Jan Door Team, Kathy and Dave. Kathy returned my voice mail left in the early hours.Quoted me a very reasonable price. Dave came out as scheduled with a 30 minute call ahead. Very COVID19 conscious and respectful.Fixed my door in no time at the quoted price. Better than it was originally installed by another door company. Also tuned up my door. Perfect! I had bought a lock for my commercial building from another company in the area and was sold the wrong parts for my job. Me a novice had no clue and spent hours trying to install it. After calling the company I bought the lock from i was told I am doing it wrong and in order to help they would have to charge me for a service call which is understandable before I said ok I ran up to Jan door and let me tell you what a company. Not only did he explain it was not working he got me the right parts and did a mockup installation just to show me how to install it when I get to my door . if you are thinking of going somewhere else please do not even if Jan door may be a little but more expensive its worth every penny to go with a company like jan door that goes the extra mile to keep the community coming back.

Called for a quote and was told that they’d are not taking anymore sales calls until Jan 2021!?

I called and they were able to come out the same day. I did not have to be present (my garage is unattached to the home). They called me when done and i paid right over the phone. That was hassle free. When i arrived home all was cleaned up and put back together. I highly recommend Jan door and its employees for a job well done . Much appreciated.

We moved into a home with 25 year old garage door openers and non-functioning clickers. Having used them previously, I called Jan Door on Wednesday and on Friday I have state of the art garage door openers! Excellent customer service... we could not be happier!! Thanks!!

Fixed my garage door with fast, friendly service

A few days ago I opened the garage door and one of the springs fell off. It had stretched a bit over time and became disconnected. The motor is strong enough to pull it up without the help of the springs..so up it went. I was on my way to work and didnt have time to mess with it right then.. while I was at work my 85 year old grandmother called Jan door and they came out and reattached the spring.. didnt tighten the cable which was the only problem.. tried to sell her a new motor.. and charged her 130$ .. bad business

Very bad service. They gave me an appointment in 2 weeks. They didnt show or call. And when I called to check on it, they had it in the system and said they will call me back and didnt.

Needed nightime service and they came out and took great care of us!! Highly recommend them for both commercial and residential service!!

The customer service here is not polite nor accommodating. On several occasions I have called to schedule service or called for general inquiries and I have always been meet with less than kind assistance. The personnel seems as if they are annoyed or bothered. I would not recommend this company at all. Take your money elsewhere!

Was reccomended here for a new garage door, Placed an appointment Friday July7th, had to call Saturday to make sure they didnt forget me and was told Oh no, we cant come out this weekend, some one will contact you either Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Still no call and its Thursday July 13th. I hate giving bad ratings especially to Michigan owned business but I just went down to Home Depot and got everything for $750. Sorry not sorry.
