Although the receptionist and tech were professional, I was utterly disappointed by the end of the appointment. Being hearing impaired since birth, I was not only told I need a cochlear implant on my hearing impaired ear, but a hearing aid on my perfectly fine hearing ear! When asked why I would need a hearing aid on my clinically sound ear, the tech - Tom, told me it preserves your hearing, multiple times. This is what I have a problem with. If hearing aids preserved your hearing people would be getting them when they were young, in an attempt to have great hearing when theyre older. Hearing aids DO NOT preserve your hearing, this is false information. Additionally, during the test, Tom would painfully increase the volume within my left ear (the ear with clinically sound hearing) stating that the volume had to match both ears, even though I already told him that my right ear is impaired. Why risk potentially damaging my left ear when thats all I have left? I advise being aware of what youre told if you come here. Keep in mind, the techs earn commission off of every aid and instrument they sell. I will not be returning.

I have never met a more dedicated professional than Thomas Skelton. From the time I come into the office until the time I leave, he is completely focused on me and my hearing concerns. His technical knowledge is phenomenal as are his people skills. He doesnt go the extra mile he goes the extra 100 miles. He does everything to accommodate me and I am very appreciative of that fact. Go see him ASAP and hear again!

I WOULD NOT recommend this establishment for hearing aids. They appear to have deceptive and predatory business practices. My mother purchased hearing aids from this establishment and was not at all satisfied. She told the tech that they didnt improve her hearing, hurt her ears and just wanted to return them. The tech said he would send them out for adjustment, that was about December 5th. They werent sent out until December 16th and have not been returned to the store yet. After doing a little research, Beltones website states they have a 30 day return policy. Looks like Ear Phonics is trying to capitalize on said policy. I wonder how many other people are victim to this practice. After all, you cant make a commission on returned sales. She was told again 12/30/19 that the equipment still has not come back from getting adjusted and she would have to make an appointment when she stated she just wanted to return the device. Im guessing they will not be until after the 30 day period has passed and she will have spent a considerable amount of money for something that does not help. To me, these practices seem very predatory. Naturally, they are not registered with the BBB. She simply wants to return the device and have her purchase refunded. Hearing aids are a very expensive investment and those needing the help they can provide should not be taken advantage of. If giving no stars was an option - I would have.
