We were visiting Decatur to see family and wanted to find a local coffee house close to us. Black Iron came up on the list and my daughter and I headed their way.We were treated by a delightful, welcoming, and helpful staff and the wonderful aroma of freshly brewed coffee! We ordered several smoothies for the kiddos and I had a cup of black coffee--there were several to choose from, from blends to single origin, light to dark (even a decaf). My choice was a darker medium roast that was absolutely wonderful--fresh and full flavored!All of the baked good were also fresh (we got an assortment to take home and share) and tasted fantastic!This is a wonderful locals spot that also provides an exceptional product for anyone looking for a truly excellent cup of coffee, scone, or other fresh baked goods. Glad we gave it a try and will be back on our next trip to Decatur!

I was skeptical about this place because me and my girlfriend are very picky about our coffee. We went yesterday and ordered a mango smoothie and a caramel iced coffee. It was absolutely amazing. Best coffee Ive ever gotten from a shop. The ladies inside were very nice and got our drinks out to us very quickly. Prices were marginally cheaper than most other coffee shops and the overall atmosphere makes this place a daily must.

I LOVE THIS PLACE SO MUCH!!! This was my first visit as I was traveling through and I fell in love! Im looking forward to visiting again in a month when Im back in town!!

The coffee was really tasty, and there were many syrup flavors to choose from, including classics and ones Ive never seen (like cheesecake??). The employees were all really friendly and quick. Were from out of town, but it seemed like they knew every single other customer and made them feel so welcome!We also got food. I had the jerk chicken wrap, and it was really tasty and refreshing. Perfect size.We also shared a Smores scone...um...I usually dont like scones because theyre really dry... this was one of the most delicious pastries Ive ever had. The toppings were soooo good and they balanced the fluffy soft scone perfectly!

Coffee was good. Food was excellent. The scenes were baked fresh, my blueberry scone was very good and the cinnamon apple scone someone else at my table got was phenomenal.

Customer Service was ok,But the iced coffee tasted like water with coffee in it and had no flavor very watery

The Coffee was interesting. It was fruiter than I am used to, but it was very good. Almost more importantly this was a space to work from without driving all the way across town to that other coffee shop. They also have decorations and crafts for sale as well.

Black Iron is one of my 3 favorite coffee places in this area, I have one for each area of town. Whenever I am in the Mt.Zion area I have to stop here. I get their iced coffee with creme de menthe or that same drink with white chocolate added. Their iced coffee blends is one of my favorites. I also love the fact that they have a rewards program and a drive thru! The staff is always friendly and willing to help!

One of my favorite coffee shops anywhere. Always a good atmosphere and they treat you like a friend from the very first visit. Great coffee and great wraps. Baked goods are always on point and ever changing in variety.

Very pleasant atmosphere and ambience. Omitting a star because the mocha was not up to par. Must have been a new person taking the order because she didn’t know how to enter the order or take it quickly. I wanted to frequent a local place and hop in and out for a quick drink but my order ended up taking 10 minutes or more.

The coffee is good but the loose leaf tea is even better! Wide variety that you can sniff beforehand and large bags available for taking home after youve found your favorite. Their baked goods are simply scrumptious. I go there regularly just to try the new scone flavors. Really nice place to sit down with friends.Only drawback is that they have limited evening and weekend hours. But its great for lunch dates or an afternoon hangout.

Went to the drive up. I had questions and they were very patient. Coffee is good and no bitter after taste.

Its local and I love local. Coffee is excellent and service is friendly. I didnt know what exactly I wanted and the women at the drive through window helped me decide.

Best coffee shop in the area! You can sot inside or use the drive-thru. They have stuff to eat.. Baked goods and lunch! A million great teas to pick from, and any coffee based drink you can think of (try the java chip!). We try to go every single Saturday. You should go if you havent yet!

Really solid coffee whether you want a drip or a specialty drink. Vanilla bean iced latte is my choice all day. They also have a lot of great tea options and baked goods.

A modest but fantastic loose leaf tea selection makes this coffee shop stand out. They also have a drive through. Black Iron is the best coffee shop Ive found in the entire Decatur area.

I wasnt a fan of this place at first but after a lot of trial and error I found that my drink of choice is a simple iced coffee. They also have the best bakery treats. As a mom of 4, I also really appreciate their drive thru.

Super clean place great staff, thats what its all about. Dont go here for eats though. They only do the muffin thing but the coffee and decor is great. This will be my coffee spot from now on when I visit Decatur.

Really, really good coffee made in any way you want. Pour over, tall thing with the spinney thing at the bottom, loud thing with handles. Also really good tea.They were playing All Star by Smash Mouth and then skipped the song which kinda irked me but thats not a huge deal.

Great local coffee shop. My coffee was affordable and hot. I was able to get some work done, and the staff were friendly. I saw there was a locked WiFi network, but I didnt ask if this was for customer use. I will inquire in the future because WiFi is a huge draw for business folk and students.

A few years ago when Starbucks came to Decatur I was excited that they would have a 2nd one on this side of town. But for some reason they put the second one across the parking lot from the other. The entire city of Decatur and you put two of them that close? Since discovering Black Iron Coffee I dont even care anymore. Their coffee and frappacinos are better than Starbucks by far and they are a local small business!
