Nice renovation from 3 years ago when I used to come here all the time as a student! They have expanded the indoor seating to where there is plenty of room to sit and study for a while if you so choose. Service is fairly quick, however the coffee and espresso were too acidic for my liking. Sharp aftertaste that stung, and the homemade lavender syrup also did not taste too great.
My girl kind of liked the coffee. I don’t see how all of these coffee shops can stay open. There are probably 20k people in Decatur and 67 Starbucks and 75 other coffee shops. I don’t understand. The bathrooms were closed and you had to walk in the front door and out the back. Pretty strange. But, you know, they are stopping the spread. One girl in there was wearing two masks. I wonder if it works against you like wearing two Jimmy’s? Across the street is a burger place with a bunch if cows painted on it, I doubt the cows would think it was cute they were on the wall. But anyway, took a pic of the cows with my cow.
With tip, my lavender latte was $7. Thats fine for a special day out, but finding seating....folks were circling tables like ravenous wolves. That makes it both hard to relax and also hard to sit down. One person at a large round table who plans to stay all day and doesnt want anyone else at the table? They probably cant control that part or maybe they can by having more two top tables.
Coffee is really good but the atmosphere could be a bit more cozy. Good if youre planning to sit outside or just there for the coffee. Wouldnt necessarily want to bring a book and chill for a while here.
Best plain black coffee Ive had in a long time. If they can make black coffee this good, you know the other coffee drinks are good. Will be going every time I visit Atlanta.
Very cool vibe! Im very anti Starbucks and Dunkin so its nice to have a local coffee house to support.I just need them to get some pumpkin spice for the fall of they cant be my go-to. 🤷🏾🤷🏾
Dancing goat never failed my expectation. The baristas and employees are polite, friendly, and professional. Their price is competing with other big franchises but their coffee quality comes out on the top of the list. The coffee quality is consistent. Never once had to return or complain about the drinks. My favorite go-to drink is the double chocolate chip chilly goat with whip cream with an extra shot of espresso. The whip cream is a must and my dog is a sucker for it. The baristas communicate with you to make sure your drinks are up to your expectations. Even if theres a long line of 10 people in front of you, they make sure to get your drink delivered quickly. The inside of the store is clean, quiet and comfortable for studying or coffee chat. The most important thing is that they always pick up their phone calls regardless of how busy they are. I really appreciate that they opened on holidays, especially on 7/4 at 4pm, still picked up the phone call and made the drinks as good as always. Kudos to these hard working employees.
Such a cute cafe and they have really good coffee! I loved their little donuts and bakery items would definitely go back there :)
My favorite coffee in all of Atlanta and surrounding areas. I get a flavored coffee, maybe with a hint of orange blossom or whatever special is going on that includes a rasberry or mocha. Then I grind my coffee there, “Whirling Dervish” please, that is my fav..I always walk out with 2 or 3 bags of coffee.
Nice coffee bar, but would prefer a little more intimate atmosphere. Their Decatur location could use more private seating and fewer large communal tables. Although they do have a nice patio area out front. The coffee is good, but my friend ordered hot chocolate which seemed to throw them off... it took quite a while to get.
Best coffee ☕️ in Atlanta dark and roasted latteAnd they have the lavender 💜test too
Great coffee! Great atmosphere! One of the highlights of Decatur.
Friendly and quick service, very healthy and safety conscious. The special coffee of the day is almost always a tasty and unique beverage - recently had a grapefruit rosemary coffee fizz that was excellent.
As a matter of fact I dont need a mask. Mind your own business. Ill take mine elsewhere. Plenty of open minded spots nearby.
Consistently amazing. Best iced caramel latte (with oat milk) in the area. The cappuccinos are also top tier. Love this place.
I asked for something sweet, milky, cold, and caffeinated and was offered the perfect drink.
If youre looking for an alternative to burnt-bean PNW chain stores, this is your place. Great coffee made here.
Really conveniently located. Enough outdoor COVID-safe seating. Good coffees.
Quick efficient service. Calm atmosphere.
Love this coffee shop! Its a great place to meet a friend and just have lunch or have a business meeting.
It’s like the pandemic is in full swing there masks required, have to use a different stylus to pay ( something that has been proven NOT to give you covid is touching an object someone who has covid has touched)
Their customer service is very bad. Wont look you in the eye, give you a total, and will just nod your head and stare. The coffee, however, is good.
This place was really busy, every seat taken, and line to the door on a Saturday brunch time rush. Why would I lead with that? Because even with this said this place deliver a quality product and good costumer service and I felt welcome to be a customer of theirs. I waited for a parking spot, I waited in line, I waited for my drink, and i was happy with what i received. I got a cortado while my waiting companion got a special off their chalked up menu. She was happy with hers and I was with mine. Ill be back here because its a great option to have while in that area of town.
I enjoy dancing goats! This location is great and the staff is always friendly. They do a great job keeping everything clean and sanitized. If it’s your first time here - I highly recommend their lattes! Always made with love.
I asked if they could do an iced cappuccino and was told yes (I now understand why this drink doesnt make sense). They made a hot one instead, I assumed mine was still coming so it sat on the counter for 10 minutes. Then when I asked about it, the man making the drinks was rude about it although he offered to make a different drink. You should not let these kinds of miscommunications (between staff or between staff and customer) occur.I wasnt a fan of the cookie cappuccino (I think it was the lemon zest) but Im sure they have good drinks too.
Looking for a place that served real southern breakfast. Finally ! Mr. Willie Bowl was an excellent choice. Highly recommended
Had a chai latte today, and it was delicious. The staff is friendly and engaging. The atmosphere is chill, with a nice balance of seating options from solo space, small tables, and a large group round table in the back. When the weather cooperates, the patio is a good place to people watch. I come to study occasionally and always enjoy myself.
The coffee is the best in Metro Atlanta!
Great local coffee with a convenient interior.
A very relaxed atmosphere with outdoor and (when it isnt a pandemic) indoor lounging. The staff is quite friendly and the prices are cheaper than even some other mainstream coffee shops. They offer almond, soy, and wheat milk alternatives as well, and have locally baked pastries that vary by day. Eclectic music in a nice area.
In addition to amazing coffee and fantastic specials (the fall latte is DELICIOUS), Dancing Goats is doing their pandemic precautions right: one way, social distancing, no inside seating, masks required, plexiglass barriers, and even clean pens to sign on the credit card screen that then go into a dirty bin. Ive always loved their coffee but am seriously impressed with the lengths theyre going to care for their guests and staff. One of very few places in Atlanta I feel safe being inside in public these days.
One of the few places I can get a consistently good non-dairy cappuccino!
I truly love dancing goats. Their coffee is amazing! I love having it at home to make every day. I gave them 3 stars, however, because they have recently changed their practices regarding sales and the COVID-19 pandemic. They used to take phone orders, let you pay by phone, and then leave it outside. This was perfect and allowed me to pick things up quickly, easily, and safely even when I have my kids. On my visit today, they changed that. No phone orders. They suggested the app. This would be great if I was just getting a drink. But there are no options for whole bean coffee. So I had to come in to order. I don’t like doing this even when I don’t have my kids, but even less so with them. I understand that they pay a slightly higher percentage with the credit card company when it’s run over the phone, but safety is paramount. I want to support this local business, but not at the cost of increasing the risk of my family.
Their Americano is better than Fivebucks!
The quality of the coffee was good and the wait time was short. The staff was friendly. It was confidently located.
Nice coffee an nice peoples
I prefer Ebrik, but its better than Starbucks. The cafe was full when I went in to kill time while my wife dealt with a holiday rush at the nearby post office. Despite the crowd, I got my order in quickly and didnt have to wait long for my cappuccino.I will say their cayenne option wasnt nearly as warm as Ebriks, but they do have more seating. Then again, Dancing Goats isnt as cozy. Plus, this being a chain, you dont get the same sense of uberhipster smugness just by being inside. Not a bad option, but not the best.P.S. Wife says the mocha is weak
Its very hard for me to justify paying $6.70 for a 16 oz maple leaf latte. Or any latte. Tried it once but wont be back. Thats just too much $$$ for an good, not great, cup of coffee. Sorry yall.
Delicious coffee, welcoming staff
Customer service was horrible and on top of being rude got my order wrong. Wouldnt suggest this place to the homeless
Really great coffee!
I liked this place! The four stars is mostly just for taste. I ordered a mocha and it was decent, but a little too sweet for me. I also like it when a coffeeshop feels a little more homey, and this place is more modern and clean. Which isnt a problem, haha.I did enjoy hanging out here for a while; the staff was really nice and helpful when they could tell I was confused looking for the dish bucket. I didnt feel rushed to leave, and I was there for a couple hours just getting work done.Theres a lot of options for pastries and drinks, a lot of room for various sized groups, and it is family friendly.
Not a good place to sit in inclement weather, but even.though it was raining lightly we could sit outside under the overhang.
Made special accommodations for my partner, who chose them as a water refill point during her half-marathon. Thats wonderful and appreciated. Been a great spot for in-person small gatherings pre-pandemic, too.
Excellent coffee! FYI: you get a free drink if you buy a bag of beans.
The coffee is just outstanding, best coffee Ive had no cap! ❤🍒☕
Coffee is good but the food tastes like a refrigerator and the people that work there are jerks.
Super cool spot
Excellent chai latte and really nice baristas :)
Servers were very rude and the coffee was mediocre at best. I would not recommend this place to anyone. I can see why we were the only customers at the time. Also, the offerings were very limited. Very disappointed.
It’s ridiculous that they don’t take phone orders and give you attitude about it to boot. And the pastries are dryer than the desert.
I’ve always loved dancing goats. Until the pandemic. I understand protecting the staff by not having people dine in. It made sense that they would let people order outside and nobody come inside the restaurant. Now people can come inside to order but customers can’t use the restroom. There were about six baristas not standing 6 feet between each... how is that not dangerous for Covid spread, but customers using the restroom is dangerous? So much of this doesn’t make sense. Marlay across the street has had guests dine in all summer..and use the restrooms 😂
There are several details I could share about my experience with this place, but I choose not to.
Meh. I didnt finish my double espresso. Coffee doesnt stand alone. Im sure with enough milk and sugar it is fine. Staff was very nice though not knowledgeable. Very Covid friendly.
I have only came here once and I think it’s pretty great. It is a great coffee spot if you’re just looking for something nice. The coffee is pretty good, pretty strong too. However I did order a doughnut but it wasn’t what I quite expected. Their doughnut is more like a cake to be honest, but I’m not mad at it. Overall, a pretty great first experience!
My go to study place. My favorite coffee in Atlanta and this location has decent parking as well. Which is worth its weight in gold in Atlanta. Good amount of seating but it can be difficult to get a place near a plug at times. Generally has a focused and quiet vibe which makes it great for studying. Pay attention to what time you are going because you will not get a good seat if you go during a busy time.
Great coffee! Excellent covid-19 protocol. A little bit slow preparation
Great outdoor seating set up with a take-away line out front to account for distancing
Great place to study and grab coffee/tea. My one big complaint is that there are no electrical outlets! So definitely make sure your computer or tablet is fully charged before making a study trip.
A place I come back to each time I’m in Decatur.
Ive been wanting to go here for a while. Americano was okay. Sweet scone was a bit hard...
An old saying of Yogi Berras comes to mind: Nobody goes there anymore -- its too crowded. I appreciate that they have a parking lot since it can be hard to find parking in Decatur. Ive only been to Dancing Goats twice, liked it both times, but did have difficulty finding a place to sit indoors both times. That wasnt a problem in June, but I also had to sit outside in February. Fortunately, that particular February day wasnt too cold.
Just okay. Eh!
Friendly and helpful staff. Great variety of coffee beans
Love this place. Now my go-to coffee shop. Friendly baristas, really good coffee. I buy their beans regularly (good decaf too!). Pretty decent amount of parking and seating; neither has ever been a significant problem for me. Nice and comfortable ambiance whether you want to enjoy a book and a cuppa, study with a group, or chat with a friend. They are currently doing some small renovations to the space.
Good coffee but very crowded.I have enjoyed Dancing Goats for over 7 years and always enjoyed the ambiance and coffee. Over the past few years the popularity had led to difficulties finding parking and somewhere to sit. Probably need another location in Decatur to spread the wealth.
Love this Dancing Goats. Tends to be a bit crowded but the line moves fast thanks to the great baristas. If Peyton is making your coffee that day youre in for a great brew. On a nice day in Decatur this is one of the best places to walk to with a friend grab tasty coffee and catch up on life.
I ended it up here cuz of Love, Simon. Nice place and coffee ♥️
Not a bad coffee joint in Decatur. Very popular, so its always crowded. They offer oat milk, which is an awesome alternative for us lactose folks. Service was very nice and the cold coffee was great.
What a nice coffee bar!!Cool vibe atmosphere, contemporary appointments.. perfect place to chat..but most importantly the service..alive, alert, kind and attentive. Coffee selection was moderate, organic, fair trade, rich and hot. Suggest a stop in if you can.. its all good
Favorite coffee shop in Decatur! Also, during the Covid Crazy...they have a great system in place to make you feel safe and also get the coffee you love!
Fantastic coffee shop. They do not over sweeten their drinks like many of the chains do. Their success shows in that it is usually very hard to get a parking spot.
Fantastic coffee and they are taking excellent precautions to prevent the spread of illness.
Really good coffee, I got the iced mocha and enjoyed it quite a lot, and very nice atmosphere. Bonus because their utensils and straws are all biodegradable and they have several recycling bins inside the place. Staff was super friendly and welcoming .
Coffee bar was closed due to covid, but service was still prompt. Good Cortado.👍
Best damn ☕ in Decatur!! Hands down. Nice vibe when your in there. The associates help u with anything
I love their Capitol blend coffee! Shipments arrive Tuesdays at 2pm, so stop by after for their freshest beans. When you pick up a bag of beans, you also get a free hot or iced coffee, which is a great perk! I might like a better selection of pastries, but its definitely the place to go for good coffee!
Amazing coffee, service, and atmosphere. they have cute bench swings you can sit on and read, study, or catch up with a friend! would highly recommend this place.
Bypass starbucks go here for that coffee itch
Excellent coffee!
Very expensive and very small cappuccinos.
Quick service, cute decor, modern vibe and good espresso. I enjoyed the outdoor seating option and parking wasnt bad.
Large, friendly place. A nice change from the national chain. Sells coffee, coffee makers, pastry & fresh beans. Free parking in the rear of the building.
