Academy is missing a HUGE opportunity here. This store is across the street from a hugely popular double disc golf course, yet they only carry a VERY small, and poorly tended selection of discs.

Brandon and Kuauna (sp?) searched everywhere for a certain New Balance shoe that I wanted. The website showed there was one pair in my size. Though their search wasnt successful, both employees deserve kudos for great customer service!!Academy management - please stock more New Balance shoes!!!

We went to buy my BFF kids shoes and it was like pulling teeth to get someone to help us. After we found the shoes for her daughter we was walking to the front and looked down one isle and seen 5 employees talking to each other and didnt seem to care about helping anybody else in the shoe department

How on earth does this store has good reviews with the lock of customer service skills, starting with the manager who’s clearly a A-hole.. I’ll rather make the drive from Sanger all the way down to Grapevine to hit Bass Pro than bringing my business to this place.

Store was clean (though stock was iffy where we were shopping and online showed incorrect availability). Associates were nice but we had to be assertive to get any assistance, not what good customer service standards are in retail.

This store is very clean and has a sundry of quality Sports and Outdoors equipment and accoutrements. The only downside to this place is, the employees dont seem to be really knowledgeable of the products and you do look like theyre guessing at an answer to make me happy. Its just much easier to find the area youre looking for and hone in on exactly what you wish to find by yourself. Getting an employee evolved just waste your time.

The process to do an even exchange needs a bit of customer service training. I tried to swap a basketball that was the wrong size. It was a birthday gift and made for a boy instead of a girl. Since I didnt have the receipt or card it was purchased on they refused to exchange it. From the moment I walked in they made me feel like I was doing something wrong and talked to me like I was a criminal. The ball was purchased 2 days earlier and never opened. I will make another trip to Denton once I get the receipt from the purchaser but I dont think I will shop here in the future with this kind of service.

You go there for what you expect. If youre looking for shoes, exercise related items, outdoor equipment and tools then this is the place to go. Reasonable prices and Im sure there are good deals if you know what to look for.

Never had an issue whenever Ive asked for help. Ive bought all of my free weight equipment from here as well as a squat rack. The employees were always helpful and mostly knowledgeable of stock before checking as well which was nice and a little surprising to be honest!

A clean store with a profusion of items for most sports. The quality is low to low medium grade, but it is better equipment than Wal-Mart. It is a little pricy for the caliber of gear that you can purchase here. They have a comprehensive selection of men and womens sport and hunting habiliments. Im giving this a 3 star rating bcuz one its too pricy for the quality, and two a employee and a manager both hassled me about taking pictures and the manager wanted to know specifically why I was taking them. I was thinking its none of your business what I do with my phone, but I told him it was for a Google review and he didnt even know what I was talking about anyway, but it still chapped my behind that he asked so many questions about me snapping some photos while I shopped around the store. Its a rather prodigious store so I took quite a few photos.

It is better to order online or do store pickup. Things are very unorganized in the shoe and clothing department. One shoe box took over 30 mins to find. If i continue to shop there I will do it online and just return things if they dont fit.

Firearms department is hidden miss if you havent issued ask for management immediately other than that its like any other Box store

The people in the shoe department are incompetent. Took 8 of them to look for a pair of shoes and then they just stand around and talk. One woman walked up and found it in 2 mins. Try hiring people who dont stand around and talk or walk away and flirt with the girls folding clothes.

Almost unbelievable prices on camping goods. I’ve tried the Magellan (in house) brand camp cots and they are pure luxury compared to the floor when camping.

Always a great place to find sports gear for kids, shoes for kids and our summer fun activities, ranging from crawfish to camping and kyaking. My only true complaint about this store is it always seems that they never have more than 1 or 2 registers open. Other than that its usually great and they have awesome clearance when they have it.

The good this is that the customers were all wearing masks. I took these shoes to the register to check out and they rang up $58.99. Luckily I had taken a picture of the signage to show clerk the ticketed price and they did give them to me at that price. The thing is this is not the first time this has happened to me there. Pay attention and check your receipts.

Terrible customer service. In person and on the phone. Spent near 30 minutes on hold. One time instead of being place on hold the operator just hung up. In store, employees were few and far between. When I found one to ask a question, they said it wasnt their department. Glad Im not stuck with only this store near me. Ill go somewhere else. Wish I would have gotten that girls name. Doesnt anyone know what it means to work anymore? Or do you just show up and collect a check for nothing now days?
