I went into the store and Robert helped me with a computer problem I was having. I have a little bit of a background in computers, enough to dig myself into really deep holes from time to time when I try workarounds. Robert was able too quickly understand what I explained and he was able to help me with some equipment I needed to fix my problem. This is a good place to go if you know a little bit about computers and youve got an issue you need a little bit of equipment to solve. Im glad I found this place.

Before I found this place, I had had my computers worked on by a handful of places with varying degrees of success/ineptitude. When I finally took my computer problems to University Computer, I realized I had found the right place. Since then, I have never taken my computer issues anywhere else. These guys are incredibly competent and epitomize trustworthiness. Robert, the owner, is great about communicating whats going on with your system. Its truly a pleasure doing business with these guys. I recommend them without reservation.

I have a PC that wont post the bios screen. I decided to take my power supply in to have them test it since I dont have a power supply tester. The person assisting me said that he would only be able to test to see if the unit delivered or did not deliver power. He would not be able to test what sort of voltages are coming out of the various connectors and whether or not they are still within specification. He offered to troubleshoot my PC for me, but what is the point in bringing my computer in if he cant even adequately test the power supply? Furthermore, how can you trust a computer repair shop that cannot properly test for one of the most common PC failures?

Im 100% happy with the amazing work, courteous and professional service, and speedy response time. Fees were fine too. My hard drive was dying...my pc barely ran, and then it died in a terrible loud screech in my home. University Computer in Denton solved all my problems beyond my expectations. They installed a new hard drive [I opted for SSD]. They rescued my data from my old hard drive, installed MS Windows and MS Office [all legal - I had keys] and many of the old programs. They answered my questions, received my phone calls and explained what I didnt know to ask. I took extra of their business cards to share with family. These are are my heroes.

My wife recently fried my motherboard on my desktop while I was out of town. She didnt want me to find out so she took it to these guys so they could replace the motherboard before I arrived home. I am in the IT field myself and am well acquainted with the process of changing a motherboard (15-20 minutes TOPS) Well...these guys told her they would order the same motherboard (I had an Asus P8P6 Deluxe), but when I arrive home it had an Intel DP67BG motherboard. I figured that out soon enough once the BIOS posted, but then I noticed they did not install the motherboard drivers. So she was busted....I was mad, but not as mad as when I found out they charged her $313.93 for what they did!!. Both my old motherboard, and the Intel they replaced it with, are obsolete and have been discontinued from retail shelves for at least two years now. I bought the Asus board brand-new 5 years ago for $225 and it was far superior to the smaller sized Intel (which is a bare-bones quality motherboard) that they used as the replacement. They had to find this Intel board of the Internet, meaning it was most likely used; or if new it was deeply discounted due to its age and obsolescence. The Intel was probably around $140-$150 brand-new several years back; I cannot imagine this place paying anymore than $100 for the board they ordered and I will never know because they never supplied her with a receipt showing what they paid (if they actually ordered it to begin with and did not use some extra motherboard they had laying around). That is what I believe they did, or they would have ordered the Asus like they told her they would. The process would have been no different for them since BOTH boards are no longer sold in retail stores!...But then they add insult to injury by charging $320 for a task that realistically would cost $100 in supplies and no more than 20-30 minutes labor. I am blown away that they would exploit my wifes naive ignorance as regards IT and computer repair by charging more than double what a fair price would be ($100 for board + $50 for labor = $150). But there was no shame for them that week; they also dishonored their word by telling my wife it would have the same motherboard and be good to go; I would be none the wiser, I assume. But even if we disregard the different motherboard issue they still handed her a computer whose motherboard was not installed properly. There is a driver disk that comes with every motherboard containing all the drivers that allow the motherboard to communicate with the operating system on the hard drive. Installing those drivers are what makes the motherboard operational; I realized they had failed to do this when I could not get onto the Internet because the LAN driver was not installed (along with all the others!). Their lack of business ethic, professionalism.courtesy and decency precluded them from taking 5 minutes to pop the driver disk in the CD drive and let the silent-install CD do all the work by itself. Failing to do that is failing to fulfill their end of the transaction. These guys deal with computers everyday; it should be second nature for them to know that you have to install the drivers (if you specified the computer would be working upon return). They live and breathe computers everyday just as I do; its our line of work. To neglect to do the things that should be indelibly imprinted upon their consciences from the repetitive nature of the tasks and skills involved in this line of work tells me one thing....the indifference and lack of concern that must be felt in order to disregard the tasks necessary to thoroughly accomplish a customers expectations (based upon what they professed to my wife they would achieve) is just a reflection of the indifference and lack of concern they have for their customers.....If you are gonna over charge a job by 200-225% over what a fair and reasonable price would be then you damn sure should make sure you at the very least do what agree and obligate yourself to. University Computers did not just fail to deliver....they straight failed.
