If you have a sweet tooth you will love this place! Its so awesome to have a middle eastern type restaurant near by in this part of CT. Right now it seems to be mostly desserts and ice cream on the menu but I heard more food options will be available. If thats true, bring it on! I love middle eastern food! The place is small but they do have a sitting room thats cozy. Parking is on the street since its a main road but it shouldnt be too challenging to find parking, trust me, the items on the menu are so good, you wont care about parking.
Wow. DAMASK leaves me at a loss for words. Everything we have tried is incredible, and unique. So many offerings... from Turkish delights to desserts such as kinder salad and kunafah, to fresh and delectable falafel, shawarma, and the best hummus youll ever have. All served from some of the kindest people you will ever meet. It is astoundingly clean inside as well.
I learned about this great place when I was visiting relatives. They served me the “Damask Booza Roll”. It is their version of the traditional Syrian hand made ice cream with Pistachios which I grew up eating and loving in Damascus. It brought back so many great memories from my youth years.I had to come and try their Falafel. It was again authentic and very fresh and tasty. The place is very clean. The owners are very nice and welcoming.I will definitely be back to try more and more of their brilliantly modernized traditional Syrian sweets.
I dont know what there home made ice cream is made from but i tried there pistachio ice cream roll, and it was stringy when spooned like a glue or something sticky, when bitten into there was a slight grit to the ice cream like it had frozen water in it.... and they seem over concerned if i liked it, i was asked 3x. ...weird... Muslim writings on wall and music and television all Arabic and the friendly girl behind the register ripped me off 3 dollars in my change.($16.50 for 2 ice creams and sodas,i got .50 cents back from a 20.00) I just left and wanted to get out of there. They also spelled vanilla wrong in the ice cream case.
A really nice shop with lovely people behind the counter!! They have a lot of great treats I have never seen before. A very welcomed addition to Derby!
I’m very disappointed. The Nutella crepe was very dry and hard to a point where I couldn’t even cut it no matter how much I tried !It tasted like dry stale breadThe ice cream had no flavour and was super chewy and bland. We kept calling them and they didn’t even come to the front desk so we could pay.Everyone hung out in the kitchen .I witnessed two customers leave because no one took their order. This place doesn’t even deserve one star but unfortunately I can’t give them 0 stars.
