Got the bicycle I wanted at fair price. Bought saddle bag and sure glad I did. I cant wait to be able to ride. I never thought Id ever ride a bicycle again for transportation. Had to do it so many years before being able to afford automobiles. Kids today probably dont appreciate this. Anyway, the electric bicycle has improved my health and I look forward to just the fun of it. Highly recommend then for everyone!

Recently purchased a new electric bike from Ichi. They allowed us to test ride any model we wished prior to choosing. Got us set up with accessories and gave us a great deal. Theyve also been great with service after the sale when a few minor hiccups arose when installing accessories. It was also fun to just talk bikes with them while browsing.

We purchased 2 e bikes from Daniel and he was great helping us try several models. No high pressure, just easy going. Unlike some one brand stores they have several brands to choose from. Nice to deal direct with the local owner.

Ichi has a mix of wildly inventive classic used bikes, commuters, e-bikes and much more. Ichi received and set up my Blix bike. I plan to use them for service or anything else needed. A friend of mine recently had Ichi redo an old large frame Mongoose. He loves it. They pulled out all the great work bringing it up to snuff and all the beautiful accent pieces doing justice to the rebuild.

My experience at the store didnt go as I expected though. I just went in to see if they had a bolt for my friends bike seat. The gentleman who had greeted me so graciously became irritated and told me I would have to bring the seat in. Which felt like a message to get the heck out of my store! He turned a 180 degrees when I told him I was interested in the bikes! He turned out to be a pretty good guy, and was extremely knowledgeable about the merchandise! So, to make a long story short I left with my bolt and jumped on my own $3000 ebike and headed home!!!🤓

FANTASTIC Experience at Ichi today. Staff was extremely helpful & professional, they had parts on hand, fixed it, and put the new parts on right then and there. After having a very bad experience at another bike shop in Des Moines, I took my bike here for a 2nd opinion and to see if they had parts (the other shop said it would be 2 or 3 months before they could get parts). Ichi had the parts & offered to replace them all right then and there. They also looked into my gears (which had not been right after my tune up at the other bike shop) and said it did not appear to be tuned up at all. In addition to replacing the parts, they tuned up my gears as well. My bike was ready to roll in less than an hour. Thank you Ichi for your FANTASTIC service and professionalism! Ill be back for sure!

As soon as we came through the door, Dan was all about great customer service, making these new customers seem like we were his best repeat customers. We went back the next day after having been given some great info and advice and a couple of different price point choices. My wife and I are each riding different ebikes, and both very happy with our choices. Thanks guys. We’ll be back, even if it’s just to look at all the awesome bikes.

Phenomenal and knowledgeable service. Purchased a light set for my first adult bike and the owner offered to attach them to the bike for me. After he attached them, he told me that he thought my seat was too low and adjusted it for me right there. I will definitely be going to Ichi Bike for all my cycling needs!

Ichi Bike saved our bike trip to Missouri. Were on our way to MO from MN when lost my bike off a hitch rack (pin failed on a 15 year old Yakima rack), fortunately only needed a new back wheel. It was late on a Saturday afternoon with the bike ride scheduled to start early on Sunday. The folks at Ichi did not have a true replacement, so were calling around Des Moines to find one for me. Owner had been on the way to a funeral, stopped back in the shop to suggest they take a wheel off one of their bikes for sale. The mechanic had lots of other things going on but managed to work this all in and get us back on the road in about an hour. Not only did he get all the gears, disk brakes and everything back working, but tuned it all up and made sure there was nothing else wrong with the bike. Can not thank them enough for the great service!

Just bought a Graduate Mixtie bike from them--a huge improvement to my oversized, nearly 30 year old Schwinn. The owner Daniel is very knowledgeable and let me test drive the Mixtie all over downtown. The ride convinced me and I rode home on a comfortable and durable bike that has a lot style. Dan at Ichi is the #1 guy in the Des Moines metro for ebikes. I took the plunge in 2015 and have not looked back. With roughly the same output I can travel much farther and ride longer. If I want I can use more power and still go out the next day and ride all day which I cant do anymore on my traditional bike. Ichi is great!

When i contacted them about making something for me he came up with not one, not two, but three excuses about why they couldnt make me something theyve already produced for me before, even after telling them i could supply the material needed! Its a local businees providing work for an individual local craftsmen, but he turns work for this person down. SHAME. Not at all helpful.

I bought a saddle bag and a few smaller items. I decided to return a few of the smaller items and the owner gave me a hard time for returning them, trying to make me feel guilty. When he told me the amount he was going to refund, told him that didnt include tax to which he said he wasnt going to include it because he would be losing money. I felt this was not a professional way of doing business. Dont offer returns if your worried about the credit card fees during the return process! Im all about supporting local business as I am a business owner myself but when your prices are at a premium, you should provide premium service as well. For these reasons I will take my business elsewhere.
