Wow honestly how did I not know about this cafe sooner? Just went here for the second time today and absolutely loved it! Love the Christian music they play and how they are for a cause. Staff is always super kind! I ordered a oat milk latte both times and it was well made! I feel like oat milk lattes are a huge hit or miss and they definitely made it a hit here. I also ordered the vegetarian burrito and it was super good! I would recommend this place. Also the environment was super cozy and warm. All the wood gives it a great cabin feel.

This is a beautiful coffeee shop and brew house. The expresso was sharp, but not bitter. The breakfast burrito was perfectly done. Soft torta and warm. The eggs were beautifully prepared and fluffy. The potatoes were crispy in the fluffy eggs and soft warm tortilla. I didnt try the meat (do not kill). The tea was magnificent because the tea was steeped perfect timing and perfect temperature. It had a beautiful aroma essence, a truly divine beverage experience. The building is an award winning refabricated car wash as posted in the entry way. You might have missed it. Freedom coffee is a youth based learning experience and so clean I would eat off of anything in the building. I have seen no insects nor dust. I was treated with the utmost compassion wisdom and courtesy. Adoration is secondary only to admiration for my experience here. Please enjoy the photos and perspective for yourself. A couple other ideas are FCYM is beautifully landscaped and speaking of views of views the menus are equally as beautiful and easy to read. I didnt see any smokers or drug users working. Gratitude and endless love.

A mission does not scream stability when they close whenever they feel like it. Went there during posted open hours on Saturday (noon), and they apparently didnt feel like staying open until two. Was buying beans here to support the mission, but after this Im done. I know plenty of coffee shops in town that have integrity and keep to their posted hours. Drive clear across town just to find out a place is closed during posted business hours. Wow.

What a great place, from the food, the people, the ambiance, the facilities, and the purpose. Their positions are generous, prices competitive, and I hear the coffee is great, but I can only attest that their Chai late is one of the best Ive ever had!

Freedom is an amazing shop! The employees are amazing. The food is always fresh. Coffee is great. Options are good. The building is amazing! Local history. Music is motivating. We go to have bible studies here.Our church groups love this place! Very open to all who want to visit.

This place is just the best! Their food is seriously top notch and delicious down to the details. Their staff stand out and are very welcoming and friendly. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is perfect. The best thing of all is that they are a blessing for the community, training and building up underprivileged youth. Just doesnt get any better!

John and his staff catered our Seniors on the Move event at Christ Life Center and did an excellent job with our events. John was willing to do even the extras we asked for in baking special heart shaped cookies for Valentines Day. We had our first Crossroads of Iowa Board meeting there and will return. They have space without the noise that are in most coffee shops.

Great coffee shop!Espresso: the espresso was the perfect balance between bright and sweet and just a little smoky. Not bitter at all. The Ethiopia pourover was also solid. Also, prices are excellent for the quality.Roaster: I talked to JohnPaul for a bit about his roasting and he seems very enthusiastic about improving his roast and trying new things which is critical for any roaster no matter how much experience they have. Ruts are very dangerous for roasters.Environment: Ive been sitting here studying for 3 hours and Im still not sore. :) The seats are very comfortable and the shop is spaciousI wish they had a few unique seasonal espresso drinks but thats a pretty minor thing. Great coffee shop!

Had a wonderful experience here! Staff was friendly & understanding when we needed to change order. They also were very professional! Love the decor, transported to the mountains in this coffee chalet! Another wonderful spot in Des Moines for a cup of Joe!

Great atmosphere, low prices, plenty of tables/booths, large parking lot, open later in the afternoon, has a fireplace/couches, known to give out samples, supports freedom for youth ministry—what’s not to love? Perfect spot for coffee or a quick bite with a friend.

Very nice coffee shop. Comfortable rustic atmosphere, barista was friendly. I had a hot chocolate and muffin, which were good, and my friends breakfast sandwich and potatoes looked great too. I also noticed that they had coloring materials set out for children. There was plenty of space options of different types of seating. Definitely a place I would go back to. I also love their connection to non-profit Freedom for Youth and their goal to train young people in job skills. A great way to support the community and get a nice breakfast or snack!

My first time been before its was very quaint I really enjoyed it a couple of my friends and I hadnt seen each other a long time and thats where we went for lunch and hung out for a while and I really enjoy your place I will be back you might be just me I live in the neighborhood I will recommend you to other people

Stopped for the first time today. What a great place! Good service, great coffee (bring your own mug for a discount), and the scone was yummy. I didnt have any hot food, but what I saw around me looked good.Love the big fireplace. On a cold day the sun shines into the fireplace room where you can sit in the sun and do some work or reading.

This is such a hidden gem! The atmosphere is so cozy and inviting! The staff are attentive, friendly, and always positive! Plus, when you buy something, youre supporting youth programming! In addition, the coffee is wonderful! They have unique flavors like toasted marshmallow and lavender that you cant get at chain coffee stores. Ive been telling all my friends and colleagues that they need to check this place out, because it is so worth it!

I have been through the drive through many times before today, and the staff are always so warm and welcoming. Today, I spent some time inside, which is beautiful and so comfy. Coffee is also wonderful.

Excellent coffee! Love the decor, the friendly staff, and the mission. I encourage everyone to support this company. My only complaint is that they arent closer to my home in Urbandale. I would be there a lot more often.

We serve an amazing God who gives beyond all we can ask or think. He has, does, and will do amazing things through this ministry. The coffee is some of the best Ive had. The staff is super friendly, and the atmosphere is incredible. Very comfortable and quiet. You have to check this place out!

Cozy place for meetings, coffee dates, and chilling in general. Theres a neat viewing window by the entrance to see the coffee roasting process. Their plain cappuccinos are my favorite, but their seasonal drinks are a tasty treat too! Overall, its a pleasant and clean place to hang out.

Freedom Blend is a fantastic place for a 1-on-1 meeting, impromptu work session, or even a coffee! Im a vanilla latte guy and they make a mean one here. Clean, quiet, friendly atmosphere with free WiFi and plenty of outlets.

Today was my first time going to freedom blend and the staff were very friendly! Especially our cashier, she even brought our coffee out to us. :) The coffee was delicious and the patio was cute and very tidy.

I stop here at least once a week to get coffee for myself and coworkers. Competitive pricing, quick service and very welcoming staff. I have only had one bad experience here where I spent an excessive amount of time in the drive-thru waiting for my order to be taken only to pull ahead and find out they were having issue with their credit card machines (I had no cash with me). They ended up giving me the two coffees on the house without question which diluted any sour taste I may have otherwise had. Awesome atmosphere. Great Coffee. Employees were very friendly and polite its great to see a program that is reaching out to help our youth today.

Smoothee was good. Coffee was bitter, too strong for light roast. Dutch letter was okay. Meat on the Cuban sandwich was low grade and very chewy.

The ambiance is warm and inviting: its like being in a lodge. The young people working are engaging and enthusiastic. Worth the trip and good karma to boot.

Such a nice coffee shop with amazing woodwork inside! Service is quick and the drinks are not as sugary as most places! The breakfast hot plate is so worth the price and the staff is personable and willing to answer questions (and give suggestions if you’re indecisive like me)!

Daily brew is good, but tried the americano today and was not a fan. Had a bagel in the past and the amount of cream cheese is MAYBE 1/4 the amount I get at 5 boroughs. Today had biscuts and gravy, why was it so spicy?? Always a place to grab a cup.

Thought Id try a new coffee place. Tried to go in at 8pm when sign said they closed at 9pm for the night, doors were locked. I tried to call to see why they were closed, kid working said they just wanted to close. Very unprofessional. Will not try this place again.
