Im not a large company which Eldridge Welding & Machine Co. spends most of its time and effort working with but they treated me like I am just as important as everyone else. I have used their expertise for several smaller welding/machining projects over the past few years and will continue working with them. Hard to find such expertise and quality of work.
If I could give zero stars, I would. My husband is more reasonable than I am. For a simple bend of two 4 x 3 strips of metal they accidentally double charged labor and did not follow, in any way, the designated marked measurements or drawing. To heat up a hitch with a torch and put a bend in two small pieces of metal they charged $325.In addition and wanted a $50 minimum on a task which took 15 mins on their hourly $125 wages although multiple items were purchased surpassing the $50 minimum. $125 is a fair price, but at 15 mins it would result in a $31.25 fee + tax as a line item with the two other products rendered. Not $50 + $275 to slightly bend to small pieces of metal. As an accountant I would be furious with the carelessness of their simple math errors. They upcharged because they had to send out the metal bend because they DO NOT have an ironworker machine or a klutch style manual metal bender. After negotiation my husband did come out with a reasonably overpriced piece of bent metal rather than an outlandishly over priced product. In the future I would recommend this company communicate with their clients when they realize the price is about to skyrocket or if they find out they are not able to accomplish a task, as common courtesy. This is my first time writing a poor review but I feel strongly this company should reconsider their pricing techniques and I wanted to ensure others double check the math on their tickets.
They do a great job and are very friendly.
