Pretty busy, needed help finding a book but all associates were engages. Maybe Im just uneducated but it would be nice if they had a way to locate a book easier in the store. They were packed and I didnt want to wait at the cash register to ask where a book was.
I realize this particular store is smaller than others so I expected to not necessarily find what I was looking for. But I will say as a general comment that all book stores might want to take note of.... not one magazine on pregnancy at all and no books at all on pregnancy or parenting with any images on the cover of non-white patents. At all. Representation matters.
This bookstore has a very cool manga section, and a nice large selection of various books and book related toys etc. All in all, its a great bookstore; however, they lied to me multiple times and signed me up for a magazine subscription before I even realized what was going on. I finish paying with contactless payment and then she just started asking me my name and address and whatnot. I figured she was signing me up for their loyalty club, a bit annoying but why not, however then she asked me what magazines I wanted for free and handed me a paper, I said I dont really like magazines, but I like time and Nat Geo in a questioning sort of way and then she said, pick one more magazine. I figured it was a sales pitch to try to get me to sign up for magazines and said entertainment. She then started talking about how Ill be receiving an email with more information and they should arrive soon. I dont understand whats going on and start to ask her about it, and she says that they already have my billing information because of how I paid in store, which I never once consented to. And then she tells me how to cancel it which I appreciate; however, I come find out that they will charge you anyway if you dont cancel your subscription so it was never two free months of magazines in the first place. They never sent me an email like she said they would. It was supposed to make it super easy to cancel, but I never got it. There were so many shady sales tactics going on here to get me to sign up for this stupid magazine subscription that lies about the prices of the magazines to then charge you more than what they say they will. I will never be coming back and I will be advising all of my friends and associates to never shop at a Books-A-Million store again.
I love a decent bookstore. This one was clean and had just enough room to maneuver a small cart with my youngest in it. Prices were a bit high, but about the norm for a bookstore in this area.
This place brings back great memories for me. When I would take my young stepson to Pokemon battles at books a million. It smells so good in there. You can get a cup of java and read all day in comfort if you like. Great atmosphere. Good prices also. Love this place
Reminds me of a Barnes and Noble, except I can actually find things! I loved seeing all the different books they had, but wish they had more of a cookbook section, unless I just missed it. Would return.
They dont have a lot of the popular writers. Its ok you could definitely find something there .
Its clean and in a nice location but they never seem to have the volume of specific manga and other books I need.
I enjoyed shopping at this location. Staff was friendly and the selection was great.
Miss not having a Books A Million at home any more. Great store.
Wish they had more of a Spanish section & the cleaning is questionable but that can be fixed. Everyone who works there tends to be super nice. I enjoy taking the kids there to pick out their books. Last visit all three got free hot chocolates after their purchase, it made a nice moment with the kids.
Excellent service, I go there everytime I visit Destin.
It was same ol same ol
All the employees here are very rude. I came in with my son who is very energetic (he’s 4) and I felt as though they were just staring and judging him the whole time. My husband felt the same way! Also there was an older lady pushing a cart that was going by and just stared and didn’t even say excuse me or thank us for moving. I’ve never had a bad experience in a bookstore ever. I live right down the street so I’ll obviously be back but only if I don’t have my son with me. Hopefully the employees will have worked on their customer service a little better!
We’re from out of state visiting and typically we go to this location every single year we visit. This trip was awful though, we noticed the staff was assuming we were going to steal by talking about it on the walkies and then I heard them talking about the other half of my family sitting down in the cafe. Prior to this they asked if we needed help three times and another associate walked by us continuously. Then I asked an associate if they had an item in stock and she didn’t once say hi, sure, or speak for anything. She acted like I basically ruined her life and asked her to do the impossible. She held out her hand so I can hand her the book rather than asking me like a normal person if she can see it. Did not once say sure I will help or sorry. If she did not want to help me then she could have asked another associate to help rather than making me deal with her bad attitude. Didn’t even offer to see if there was another store that had the item in stock. We left and came back for a second time and then here come the walkies again. From someone who works loss prevention, if you know, you’ll know. Awful experience I do not know when it became so trashy there.
Tons of books with a great selection of funko pops, trinkets. You are sure to find a book for anyone!
I like Books-A-Million in Destin, Florida for the 1st time & brought me 2 wrestling books today.
It has a lot of variety of items, and a lot of cool manga and books.
Always enjoy the selection of books here and getting a hot drink from the cafe while I browse.
Book Worm City!Volumes of new and old treasure!
Love all the fun finds and of course the anime section ❤
I like the store and its variety of items. Avid book reader and not as many book stores as once was. Store clean and staff friendly. Perfect for browsing around and looking at your purchase before leaving or before buying.
Great selection for a modern book seller.
This place is awesome. They had everything I was looking for. Only gripe I have with it are prices but its not that big a deal.
Good bookstore with quite a few sales at $5 or $6. My biggest objection is they have books on sale for $6 still in the racks at full price. But, mostly, I enjoy the store more than any other that isnt a used book store.
Good selection of real books to read!
If youre a book lover, you will love this place. If youre a nerd whether it be Harry Potter, Star Wars, any big franchise really, you will love this place. Its great! My sister and I are huge book nerds and love this place. Its a favorite of ours to visit when were on vacation! Nothing but good things to say about this place. Even the prices are reasonable ❤
Very fun bookstore. Had a lot of things I didnt expect like sage kits, crystals, posters, key chains, etc. Staff was very friendly.
Great place to hangout, wide selection of books
Prices are a little high for what your buying. They do have a large variety so alot to choose from. We enjoyed walking around looking at everything though. Nice way to pass a few hours on a saturday afternnon.
One of the larger book selections Ive seen.
We love this bookstore, staff is always so helpful and pleasant
Wide array of books. Reasonable prices too
Seems like more of a novelty store then a book store. But if you are looking for that kind of stuff its the place to be!!
Its an OK place for one of the last places still around that sell hard copy books and magazines. A good selection although a little pricey.
Even though I didnt find the book I was looking for, I love bookstores.
Very good. I found the books I was looking for.
Great atmosphere nice employees
Helpful and personal staff, well kept store with a great selection and fair prices. They push their book club and it would be beneficial if I had a local location. Nice to be able to physically browse and purchase books!
I can ALWAYS find something good here
Love this location.
The nieces found the books they were looking for and the staff was very helpful.
I love hard stand book stores, and BAM is always super helpful if Im looking for a book they dont have. Id give that 5th star if they indulged my Star Wars nerddom and dramatically increased the selection of novels they carry... specifically as it pertains to Star Wars
Always extremely helpful
Had a wide selection of books, loved the selections of a accesories and a section of dungeon and dragons.
A great place to shop for books. They do have a lot of things they try to sell you but the staff is always really nice and helpful!
Clean, friendly and helpful 👌
Friendly staff ava a wide variety of items for sale.
Its like a playground for your brain. I love this store!
Large selection and convenient spacing in the commons.
They have a fantastic selection of not only books, but toys, adult and childrens games, calendars, journals, even tshirts...its not just about books.
What a terrible bookstore. Its disorganized, and not well kept, and difficult to find anything. They have very misleading signage all over the childrens section. Beware that the buy 2 get the 3rd free signs are only for select books despite having them all over the aisles (and there was no fine print that said otherwise). Our child left in tears because he couldnt get the books he wanted. Cashiers were unapologetic about it and didnt seem to care at all.
Im here every week. The staff is wonderful and just wants you to read. Im a card member and it affords you great coupons and early access to sales. The store is clean, as are rest rooms. The cafe is a nice perk.
Cool, large store with a vast selection of books and gifts. They have better prices than their competitors. A nice little coffee cafe too
Great place to relax and browse, prices are outstanding. Totally enjoyed ourselves.
Good on prices 👏
Great prices, teacher discounts and awesome assortment of random pop culture items.
The employees here are so helpful and sweet and this is a great place to sit and relax
Same as usual. Normal
Always enjoyed going there and still do, the choices are bountiful and a relaxing place to visit
Books A Million is one of my favorite places to hang out, enjoy a cup of coffee & read a good book. So many books & magazines to choose from, along with cool gift items & a cafe. Its also conveniently located in Destin Commons so theres lots to do all around!
Helpful and friendly staff
Always well stocked and new things everytime we go in. Something for everyone. Always clean and friendly staff
My favorite bookstore. A chain with the flair of a local store but an unmatched selection of books. Highly recommend a membership and keeping coupons they email you to save a bit of money. But honestly I just have so much fun every time I visit the store that I have to give it 5 stars
It fun to look at, buy and read real books.
Books a Million is a wonderful place to escape from all the craziness in the world right now.
Still a great collection of books and reasonable prices. Be sure to check their clearance books. I found a couple of great titles there. Bye pass downloading and share it when your finished.
Large selection, great place to find gifts.
I used to work here. Definitely one of my favorite workplaces. Very chill energy.
Books a million at Huntsville al
Great book store with many options. Staff was very friendly and helpful in finding the latest book for my daughter. Nice place to relax and get away from the daily rat race.
Great place to by the book youve been wanting.
Loved the selection! Huge variety of gifts (non books), especially for the kiddos! Staff was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful for everyone in our group.
Really good if you like books, theres books as far as the eyes can see in there
Good selection... Staff is usually very helpful. Store can feel cluttered at times.
Lots of cute items
Great atmosphere, I could be there all day
Good service!
Good store with a good selection. The people that work here are nice, but I really wish their corporate would stop making them push these reward cards to get your information. Also the free magazine stuff needs to go as well, just a constant bombardment of yodelling when I just want to pay for a damn book.
I really like their selection. Just a little pricey.
Good layout. Always able to find good deals.
Had great verities of books and other great stuff.
I love this book store.
Everyone was nice and great selection of book
I like this BAM location because is always well organized and clean. It is a pleasure to go there. They get 5 stars because I was looking for a calendar and I found it here at the best price possible.
I may not find THE book I am looking for but I can always find a book (or something else) that is worth buying. My kids love looking around in this store. There are many things besides just books, such as toys, collectibles, nik-knaks, and gifts. I think there is also a coffee shop inside.Fun place to spend some time browsing.
The staff is incredible. They are super helpful and help you find whatever you need. The discount card is great since I buy a ton of books, and I love just sitting back and drinking the coffee and reading there. Wonderful atmosphere.
The best
Lots of great books! Kids could easily stay in this store for awhile, which I dont mind. 👍🏼
Love books a million! This store is always very nice! And staff is very helpful.
I always like to just walk around Books a Million. Getting to see and pick up books and games on the shelf and see what theyre about. They maintain a great comfortable atmosphere and is always a pleasant place to kill time.
The store is lovely but my goodness. The cashier Paige made my checkout absolutely appalling. I was accompanying my nephews who paid with a $50 they had received for Christmas, and Paige had the nerve to not only ring me up as paying with a $20 once, but twice. The first time - I can understand, we all make mistakes... But then she called the manager and stated while paging for them after the second transaction, this woman said her kid paid with a $50 but Im pretty sure they paid with a $20. I was blown away with how rude she was and while the manager gave me the correct change after lifting up the till and seeing two $50s comfortably resting there, I do not enjoy being treated the way me and my nephews were and will be taking my business elsewhere in the future.
Great place to find a whole bunch of everything. My daughter loves to read and she is overwhelmed with all the possibilities of books to read
Great clerk, very knowledgeable. Lots of good bargain books to choose from.
This place is only remaining in business due to their scams at the cash register. No you aren’t offering me “three free magazines”, you are lying to take my debit card information to charge me hundreds per year for magazines that absolutely no one wants to read. Also “would you like to donate a bag of coffee to the troops?” is very misleading charging me full price for your coffee that you sell at the store. It’s not charitable to scam your customers into paying retail price for YOUR coffee. I apologize to any of the troops who have to drink the miserable coffee I donated to you. I’ll be searching for better coffee to purchase for you while serving.
Book lovers hideout. All the new favorites at reasonable prices. Great for people who like to browse and shop.
Probably one of my favorite places to visit. I find it really hard to find something new to read by searching online so I very much appreciate a good bookstore
