I really loved Red Hook. We found ourselves out of breakfast food and without reservations one weekend, and decided to grab a coffee and a bite from here to lift our spirits. It didn’t disappoint. The pastries we fantastic. Great flavor and obviously freshly baked. We also had incredible lattes that were perfectly smooth and balanced. They are still doing curbside orders, so no customers were allowed inside. But even still, we enjoyed sitting at the outdoors tables and enjoying the fresh air. I’m extremely glad to have found this place, and will be planning my next stop very soon!

I cannot imagine why this place is making people stand outside still. The coffee is good, but the inside of the shop has been closed for almost a year and a half. Just require proof of vaccine, or make people wear a mask. I am not going to wait on the street for a coffee come Winter.

This little shop is incredible. Ive only been there once, because Im not from around here, but Id honestly love to go again. Their coffee is excellent, and their pastries are divine. I cannot recommend this place enough. If youre in the area, or even if youre not, give this place a try. Also, if youre a dog lover, youre gonna love this place. I saw so many dogs just in the short time I was there.

Red Hook is a lovely coffee shop that suits West Village to a T. An excellent slate of espresso drinks, a dizzying range of scrumptious baked goods, and a cozy, green interior make this your quintessential East Side cafe. Plenty of street parking, moderate prices, outdoor seating, and smiling baristas round out the experience.

Great speciality shop with a variety of pastries, alternative milks, and choices in roasts and location. The staff is so friendly and down to earth. There were several toddlers (with parents) and the staff was friendly and kind, clearly knew most of the families and people waking up. Comfortable and cozy vibes, even on the patio in March!Service was speedy and high quality. As a former specialty barista, I can say they have high quality coffee and do a great job steaming their milks. It was very enjoyable and I would highly recommend!Red Hook Detroit has closed off their lobby during COVID19 and has made a great order and pick up system. Their card reader is touch screen with sanitizer right next to, and thats the only touch requirement.Pictured is an oat milk cappacino and a vegetable galette, both simply delicious!

Great cafe in Detroit’s West Village. Located in the most quaint business district in the city. You can’t go wrong with their drip coffee or cold brew, and their espresso drinks are great too. The pastry case is stocked with a great variety of items from sweet to savory, and from a snack to a meal.I’d recommend the breakfast biscuit and the sea salt chocolate chip cookies! You can’t go wrong though.Perfect place to grab a coffee and start a walk around the villages.

I love Red Hook, but when my friend and I went there on Sunday, we noticed the building was having a bee/wasp issue. Then while we were waiting for our drinks, I was stung and it’s pretty bad 3 days later. I would like to post a photo, but I don’t see a way to do that. What I’m saying is, whoever owns the building, please do something about the bees. Im scared to go back 🙁

Like the other reviews conveyed, you wont be disappointed by those cookies. Great size, a lil soft and a nice touch of sea salt sprinkled on top to balance. The hot chocolate is great too and I appreciate the steamed milk art on top of my beverage. Covid measures were in effect here as take out orders were the only option with a barrier at the entrance and social distancing in place.

Okay so I visited the West village of Detroit for my BFF day day. And everyone is literally walking around outside ALONE OUTSIDE wearing masks. the coffee shop required us to wear a mask to order standing outside the plexiglass window. I feel like Im in California with these ridiculous rules...sanitizing tips however sanitizing tips is not necessary at all... But the chai latte but the chai latte was totally worth standing outside with a freaking mask on in the open air. LMAO five stars for the coffee one star for the ridiculous rules and fear mongering🤪

I discovered The Red Hook about a year ago through me and my friends journey to find the best mochas possible. Well I’m glad to say that Red Hook’s mocha is my favorite! I enjoy mine iced and with regular milk so that’s all I can speak on but it’s deliciously chocolatey (they told me they make their own chocolate gonache used in the drink), creamy, and the espresso is perfectly strong but not too crazy! I also have been really happy to continue to support Red Hook through this weird time because they only do walk-up window orders and require masks. They wear gloves when they make your drink and are just really awesome. So keep up the good work and I’ll see you this week!

If it wasn’t for the price of their bags of coffee I would give a 5*. $20 for less than a pound of coffee beans is the most expensive take home bag in Detroit that I have found. They don’t even roast here. You can buy excellent coffee directly from the roaster at significantly lower prices at many other Detroit locations such as Germack, Anthropology, Desert Oasis...The place itself is fantastic. The coffee is good, the treats are great, the staff is great, the atmosphere is unique.

I remember how happy my housemates and I were that yall were in the neighborhood to stay. That was five years ago. Ive made it a goal of mine to check out any and all coffee shops within the city. Although the list is now complete, I continue to come back to The Red Hook. Not purely out of convenience (its a two minute walk for me), but because you are consistent and quick. Your rotating beans are quality, and your staffs skill at preparing them is always spot on. A good mix of sweet and savory in the pastry display... anything from vegan to bacon.Summers on the sidewalk with an iced coffee. Winter mornings on the bench taking on the blazing light as if I were Searle from Sunshine taking on 3.1% of the sun. These will be nostalgic moments for me forever.Keep it up, and thanks.

Low-key neighborhood coffee shop. Great coffee delicious baked goods.I typically linger for a bit and on nice days - take a walk around the block. I have had the privilege of traveling quite a bit, and never have I seen a local organization with such little regard for its marginalized members of the community. I took a homeless man into the shop to buy him a coffee and after being ignored for quite some time, the first thing that the cashier told the poor man was that he wasnt allowed in the store...I had my young daughter with me and even she was disgusted. This individual (who I dont think should even be called a human) rolled her eyes at the man (who was not loud or disrespectful by any means)and refused to even crack a smile. Small businesses are typically pillars in society; what I saw today was truly primitive and disturbing.

Delicious, reasonably priced coffee with perfect house made syrups that arent too sweet. On my first visit I had a lavender iced latte and on the second visit I enjoyed a hibiscus lime spritzer. The reason for the 4 star rating is because this location no longer carries the phenomenal mini pistachio cakes. Thankfully the Ferndale location still carries them, but its quite the distance between the east side of Detroit and Ferndale. Anyway, Im a self-proclaimed coffee connoisseur and I highly recommend Red Hook Detroit.
