I was gifted a watch two weeks ago and was heading into this store for a new band on it and possible tune-up Ive never owned a watch of any kind before, every single step of the process of the store was fantastic. The young woman who helped me (sorry cant remember her name but recall she moved from Midland recently) went over every aspect of the watch and showed me a number of bands and even emailed me helpful information. She didnt try and upsell me on maintenance I didnt need and I really appreciated that. After purchasing a band she lead me to the cafe where I was given a complimentary coffee, and even that experience was wonderful. The barista who helped me was enthusiastic and energetic and awesome. Also cant remember her name but she had recently moved from New York.Long story short: Shinola has exceptional service and watches, and I cant remember names for the life of me, but Ill be heck-darned if I cant remember where people move from?

My husband purchased a rose gold run well women’s watch. The watch is quite beautiful however after a handful of wearing the watch watch rose gold color is wearing off in some spots. After talking to customer service their solution was for me to purchase a new face at $150 when the watch is only two months old. I find it very ridiculous to spend hundreds of dollars on a watch that is showing critical wear after only a handful of time wearing it. I feel that they should make it very clear before purchasing that the coding wears off. I doubt anyone would buy it if that was the case. I feel taken advantage of.

A kind of eclectic mix of very high quality goods. Leather products, watches, clocks, and bicycles. I noticed a high degree of detail and quality, but that is also reflected in the cost.

Its one of those experience stores where they cater to your every whim. Valet parking, free coffee, etc. The stuff is pricey, but you already knew that. Its nice to see a company that is in Detroit, hopefully it remembers ten years from now and doesnt start making things in China.

I went into the store shopping for a wallet, trying to support our local businesses. And since Im a truck driver, sitting on a bulky wallet could lead to back problems. However, to my surprise, the minute I walked in it was like all eyes on me. I was immediately approached by a salesman and he ask me what I can help me with? So I said Im looking for wallet, and he basically pointed me in that direction and I said thank you. But then he started following me around, as I was checking out the displays. So after a few minutes, he then walks up to me and started questioning me what I did for living. I was really getting uncomfortable at this point, so I had him pick me out a wallet so I can quickly leave the store. This is the thanks I get for supporting local businesses. So when you see me in the burbs shopping, you can thank the third generation Schwinn bicycle maker.

The service I received was phenomenal! My sales associate was kathy and how she treated us great! My girlfriend bought me a watch and I was happy with the product mainly from the attention we received! Love Detroit made products! Love Shinola! Another great step for my city!

Ive spent a few thousand dollars in-store and one purchase was a wallet which after a few years the leather edges fell apart completely. Everything else with the wallet is still good but i called to see if there was anything that could be done and the lady just asked if it was older than one year, i said yes, and she said it was out of warranty and told me to buy a new one! great customer service!!! ill spend my money elsewhere.

Very nice, well made watches. I own two of them. But they are a bit overpriced for what you actually get. The issue I have is the staff really doesnt know much about watches except for Shinola and I think they truly believe that they are high end watches. They are not. They are nice, well made quartz movement watches but not one is worth close to $1,000.

Purchased a set of leather deer skin lined gloves for my significant other, and Im honestly jealous! When I tried the gloves on myself I thought, WOW this is truly something of perfection. Who wouldve thought a simple pair of gloves would be worth Every penny of $200. Theyll last a lifetime, feel great, dont keep the hands too hot, can be mashed into a pocket, stretch like elastic if I need to make a fist or something, heck the only thing that would make then from the future is if you could text with them! Definitely planning to go back and purchase a Shinola wallet soon.

Really fun place to visit and browse around. Shinola goods are generally pricey, though with beautiful design and high quality. They do have a number of low cost items available, like notebooks, if you want to leave with something without spending big $$. Also a coffee bar inside so you can grab a drink while you are there!

Lots of friendly informative help. Great to see the flagship shop. Much more relaxed than the outlet shops. Watch batteries replaced on site, all their bikes made there. Listening room for their turntable. Dog water station at the front door.

I brought my coworkers ruined chronograph watch in to the Canfield Store to see if they could do anything for it. The thing was totally WRECKED - I mean destroyed beyond all hope. I thought they would take one look at it and laugh in my face. To my surprise, they offered to fix it under warranty for no charge. By “fix” I mean send it back to the factory and completely rebuild it. Two weeks later I picked the watch up and it was like new! I can’t say enough how happy I am with Shinola as a company. The store is always immaculate and the staff are phenomenal. There is surely a strict attention to detail in their high-quality products. If I didn’t already own two of their watches I would buy another in a heartbeat.

Shinola makes Detroit shine. A great store for the best value high-end watches, leather goods, bicycles, turntables and more! Plus, they have a pretty decent cafe on-site for sipping while you are shopping or just sipping. Although the prices of some of the goods may be beyond a middle-class wallet, they are not very far beyond it. And, they dont treat people disrespectfully if you are just window shopping. Super courteous sales people really understand what customer service is all about. Might be a tad hard to find if you are not familiar with the neighborhood, but be persistent and you will be rewarded. The Shinola store is in Midtown near the Motor City Brewery, Jolly Pumpkin, Traffic Jam and Snug and Marios. Hopefully, you know where one of those places is!

I had received my Shinola watch as a gift less than a year ago and the crown fell off recently. I brought it in to this location to get it repaired. The store itself is pretty nice, as is the merchandise they sell. The customer service was excellent! Shelby helped me out and she was fantastic! She told me the repair would be done within 15-20 minutes and even offered me a free drink from the coffee shop. I didnt end up taking her up on the coffee but my watch was ready within the 20 minutes and she found me in the store and brought it over to me. For my first time dealing with Shinola directly, I was really impressed. Great customer service and a great store!

The store has significantly expanded their product categories and selection making this an even better experience than ever before. Now you can listen to their audio equipment ( headphones, speakers, turntables), enjoy all their leather accessories, jewelry, bikes, flowers and as usual their extensive selection and customization options for their watches.Before expanding I found myself browsing around for 20 minutes and walking out without having bought anything. Now they have so many interesting handcrafted items with so much variety and price points that I spent over an hour taking it all in. Theyve added a really cool watch customization area where you can select a watch face then with the help of staff, swap out different bands and straps to uniquely customize your watch the way you want it.This is pinnacle of cool shopping experiences!

Ive been into turntables for twenty-plus years and the Shinola Runwell Turntable is definitely the best table Ive owned. Its a work of art. While youre there be sure to try the Shinola Cola. I wish there was somewhere close to where I live that sold it.

I love this store and have brought many friends here already. The prices are high, but if you dont plan to buy anything you can just walk around, enjoy the designs and see how things are made. They have chairs and serve very good coffee so if you like to sit there and sketch or write, you would feel comfortable in this place.

This place is urban fashion Disneyland. Its hard to convince oneself that anything in the store can possibly be worth the prices they charge, but theres no denying that the wallets, bags, and bikes are handsome and fashionable. The bikes and watches are assembled in store. If youve got the time, also check out the coffee shop in the corner. Its probably the best one on the street.

Had help from Renee Thompson today and a lot of help from another young lady that I think her name was Renee as well at the Detroit mid town store. I bought a white Detroit Arrow bicycle and a ladies watch as raffle prizes for a charitable event I am helping to facilitate. These ladies where awesome! Great experience today. Will go back to see them at some point and buy some more stuff.

A fun place just to visit if your into high end audio, quality watches, or cool bikes. A complimentary coffee upon arrival was a nice touch, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Ill come again next time Im in town.

Visiting Shinola was not apart of our original shopping plan, but the crafting of everything in their flagship store was basically singing to us from outside. There was a huge, framed American flag (with 48 stars), gorgeous bikes, a raw juice bar, periodicals, awesome watches, journals and other accessories. Yes, yes, yes. I wanted everything. I still want everything. Ill have you yet, Shinola!

This place is so cool. Great coffee, cool merchandise ranging from watches to bicycles to mechanical pencils. Everyone is really nice, almost to a fault. They also host a lot of fun events including occasional DJs. Great place to shop or just simply hang out.

Great staff and quick service. If you have a Shinola watch this is the only store that you can bring it to and have the battery replaced while you wait. Had two different watches serviced and both times the total wait was around 30 minutes.

I visited the store to have a battery replaced. The wait was about an hour. There is plenty to see in the store to pass the time. Kendall was very helpful and kind. There is complimentary valet out front.

Staff went above and beyond to get me the exact watch I was looking for. When Id called in the morning about the Petoskey stone watch I got a lot of very detailed information I was looking for. Late that day when I went into the store, I got a lot of help picking out a watch, matching bands, etc. Until they finally tracked down a Petoskey stone watch! Company is horrible at delegating power. They have the most unqualified people in charge and because their friends they are allowed to ruin the company. Shinola has so many bright people that are in positions as workers and I fear its because they are women and minorities . I hate to say that but its true. Ive met ladies there that have so much education and ideas but scared to say anything cause they fear getting fired. Thats a shame in a company thats in a urban city. A place where the ideas and knowledge of the people in the area should be embraced and used to bring profit to the company. instead you hire and bring in people from islands and east coast that have no idea of watch development or what the consumer wants. I like shinola it had alot of room for growth and large profit but the leadership chooses old boy and eye candy over real employees and loyalty. The company had lost whole departments over the past year. They should look to those that stay for leadership and ditch the dead weight in charge of development and production as well as inventory management and ordering. I swear shinola do the area people better and pay them like you pay the ones that dont deserve it and cost you money...

Always friendly service......went in to get my batteries changed. Note this only happens during the week, otherwise you have to leave them if you go on the weekend. They will ship them back to you free of charge when they are done.
