Jake is definitely an excellent mechanic, but sadly lacks integrity & has extremely poor communication skills. I am still waiting for him to pay me for my daughters bike that he sold. I received a partial payment & was told I would receive another payment on April 27th via text message. It now June 14th & I have not only not received any further payment, but have received zero responses to my numerous messages directly to him or indirectly to ND posts. No sure why he has decided to scam me, but he is very dishonest. Please be aware!

I had scheduled a service with Jake via text message and we had coordinated a drop off time. I live 45mins away but I do drive past Dublin, so it’s convenient for me to pick it up on my drive home from work, whenever it was ready. I arrived and unloaded my bike.A young gentlemen at the door told me that jakes closed for the day. I let him know we had made an arrangement, he closed the door, then came back outside to sell me Jake isn’t available. I then texted Jake because perhaps there was a miscommunication and he replied back dismaying his availability.“Not available, what about tomorrow or the day after”He didn’t respond back after I told him I drove from Tracy to meet this appointment.I didn’t even need him to service my bike right away lolI could have left it there as planned but he chose not come outside. I drove 45mins for nothing. This is unprofessional. I would have tipped him very well because his quoted price was less than the bike shops and the only reason I chose him because local bike shops quoted me a 4 week wait minimum and he estimated a week if I recall correctly.Business integrity is important. Had he apologized via text about his unavailability I would have come back the next day or another mutually convenient time.Oh well

Recently had my Trek Fuel EX8 tuned up by Jake @ Bye-Cyclery. The work was done within 1 day and the work was top-notch. Jake took the time to clean the bike, adjust the brakes, front/rear derailleurs, adjust all fittings and clean the headset and bottom bracket. The price was perfect, much less than any bike shop would charge. On top of that, he took time to explain all the work completed and suggested a check-up date after the next 5 rides to make sure I was happy with the work.I highly recommend taking your bike to Jake if you are looking for any work done (small tune-up, or full tear down). The price will beat any shop out there and the workmanship is top-notch! Bonus: Jake took the time to clean the bike, top to bottom. It hasnt looked this good since I purchased it at the Trek Store!Will definitely recommend Jake to all friends and neighbors.

Needed a general tune-up of our 25yr old Specialized bikes & Jake got us in & out within a couple of days. When I brought bikes in, They were both stuck in a single gear. Now they both shift smoothly between all 21 gears & ride like brand new! Very friendly & very reasonable prices. So glad to have found this service.

Jakes service was amazing! I called and asked for an expedited tune up + new tires and he was able to get me in right away. When I arrived, Jake took the time to listen to my needs and what performance I really wanted out of my bike. Since I ride 9 miles a day, with big dogs attached to my bike, I needed some better rear stopping power on gravel trails. Fast forward to the 24 hour turn around I had asked for, and my bike was perfectly tunes, cleaned, new tires, and a new rear brake and derailer system was added. I could not have been happier with Jakes work and his above and beyond customer service. I have never received that level of service at a big shop so I will definitely be calling him in the future!

I had two of my Kid’s bike one for a puncture and one full tuning. Jake did a fantastic Job. I needed it bit urgent he worked late in the night to fix it. While talking to him I could feel his love for bike and his professionalism. He also gave a discounted price he agreed months ago for tuning because it is a Kids bike.I highly recommend Jake for fixing the bike.

Since the Cyclery I usually go to was closed early I was directed to Bye cyclery via Google Maps and what a blessing in disguise was to meet Jake. What an awesome full tune job on my bike with a 15 hour turnaround. The SRAMs on my GIANT TCR have never shifted smoother the whole bike chain, drive train was sparkling clean and the whole bike was so well lubricated. My first ride after a long time took me back seven years when I just got it new. Tremendous job highly recommend him for any job involving a bike. It is true sometimes the best things come out of a garage and this is indeed one. Anything to fix on my bike and my daughters bike will always go to Jake. Highly recommend him.

Took my mountain bike to Jake for a tune up and he did a great job. It was a bit more than he had bargained for, but there were no complaints from him about the extra effort. Charged me the agreed upon labor and only had to pay extra for the new parts that needed to be installed. No, shocks, no surprises, just nice friendly service.

I am a novice in cycling. I bought a bike from a neighbor and took it to Jake. He was very patient with me and explained many nuances of the bike I bought. His words were very encouraging. He did a tune-up and set the bike up for my dimensions at a very nominal price. Working with him has been very pleasant. It gives me great comfort to know, if i have any questions I can quickly call Jake or go to his garage-shop and get it answered immediately.

Easy to contact. Quick and proper service. Great price. I thought my bike was O.K. But when jake got finished it rode, turned and braked 3x better, felt like my brand new bike again! For only 50$ it’s worth it for any bike that needs repairs!

Jake tuned up my well used mt bike. The front derailleur barrel adjuster was broken . However, he was still able to make the adjustments and the bike now shifts great. He also gave me some tips on where to get a new shifter for a good price. Great service.

We recently took one of our bikes to Jake and yes, we are pleasantly surprised with his communication and level of service. He kept us informed with updates via text messages. Not only did he straighten out my wheels, he also noticed that my front brake pad was completely worn down (to the metal) and that I also needed a new chain. Awesome service.We lucky to find Jake on the Nextdoor app.He has assembled a bike out of a box for us and done a tune up on an old Giant Rincon mtb.Both jobs were done in a timely and professional manner.Hes able to provide a great deal of services out of his modest home/garage shop .He spells out exactly which services he can perform.Obviously, if you have a $5000 carbon road bike that needs warranty replacement this is not the place to come.For the rest of the 99% of the cyclists out there, he can do quality tune-ups and basic repairs.Support a super local business.
