Supreme fabric motorcycle gear. Inner foam padding. Gore-Tex and water proof. With plenty of pockets! The first one piece riding suit I bought in April of 2006. I have an estimate of 300,000 miles on that one.I purchased the Darien 2 piece for $1300.00 in 2018... maybe 60,000 miles under the motorcycles wheels.. Some have said that the prices are too high... 2006 was $700. I have said Have you priced Ambulance ride and Emergency Care?.There is all sorts of motorcyclists gear, from clothing to electric vests to tents.Great customer service Discounts IF you ride/drive there!Order the catalog.. see the sizing charts..and get out and ride... 12 years ago, a Ford Fiesta ran over my arm as I did a perfect judo roll and came up to face my next attacker in the fast lane of the 880. I can still use my arm really well. Thank you Aerostich. PS The hospital somehow lost the right arm of my suit. Oh, well. The left arm is still there in this photo. That;s the one with the compression creases and the tire marks.

I’ve never been to the physical store but hope to make the pilgrimage soon. I have ordered various gadgets and pieces of gear from them over the years and everything has been top notch and bullet proof. The kanetsu heated vest is one of my favorite all time pieces of gear. Visor cleaning kits and the complete tire repair and compressor kit should be standard issue for all motorcyclists.

I have worn a 2 piece RC suit for about 7 or 8 years over 100k miles, through some of the worst conditions imaginable (bitter freezing cold, inland squalls, hail storms, desert heat), with the exception of extreme rain conditions it has never let me down. I have crashed many times in the suit, it escaped with minimal damage and most of the time I can say the same for myself. The Gore Tex layer has worked flawlessly. The RC suits one achilles heel is under very heavy rain conditions, rain flows off my helmet and down the back of the neck. No balaclava design I have found is designed to cope with this issue. :( I have approached Stich about this but they have not shown any interest.Their jacket has snaps around the back of the neck that would accommodate securing the rear flap of a balaclava, and keep the neck area fully protected.

After years wondering in the dark, I finally learned of Aerostitch. My wife and I were going to go on a dream ride through the Scottish highlands and I needed a new rain suit for the trip. I ordered the Darien 2pc suit. Great customer service! We had some pretty incredible amounts of rain and gale force winds at times during the ride. The Aerostitch suit keep me dry. Can recommend to anyone getting this gear. Half of our group of riders through Edelweiss motorcycle tours were devoted Aerostitch wearers. My wife now wants to get herself a new Aerostitch suit. Cant thank you enough.

I have been an Aerostich customer since 2002. I have put upwards of 70,000 miles on using their suits. Top notch equipment.

I recently had to give up motorcycling due to medical issues and I miss my Aerostich R-3 as much as my bike. For many miles it kept me dry, warm/cool, and protected. It was super easy to put on and take off; the vents provide plenty of air and heated gear was easy to use underneath it. Rain was never an issue. I could go on and on, it was my favorite piece of gear next to their elk skin gloves. Customer service was also top notch as I continued to get gear from Aerostich. Top notch products!

Awesome gear, great service, knowledgable staff... whats not to like? I have purchased a lot of gear from Aerostich size 2006 and have never had a bad experience. Sure, there are some items I wish they never discontinued (*cough* Aerostich fleece lined helmet bag! *cough*), but I wont ding them a star for those business decisions -- bring back those helmet bags, Andy! I love, and own and wear many of their mid-layer clothing (fleece, heated vest, wind blocking jersey), multiple gloves and neck wind triangles. All their in-house designed gear is well thought out to make riding in all conditions more pleasurable and integrate into your overall riding kit. Saving up pennies and dollars for HiViz Roadcrafter suit in my future.

Bought an Aerostich Road Crafter about six years ago. I have over 100,000 miles under my belt wearing it. Son, with his Road Crafter, and I went to Alaska from the. Upper Peninsula of Michigan in 2017 wearing them. It rains 17 days out of 19 that we traveled. Granted it was only in the morning. The only wet we got was when my son left one of his under arm vents open. I send mine in for a cleaning and waterproofing about every other year. I have gotten rid of almost all of my other riding gear.

Ive been using Aerostich gear for over 10 years. Thankfully I have not tested the high speed off bike properties of the gear. I have tested its on bike properties in all riding conditions including extreme desert temperatures, snow, hail, drenching downpours, and on occasion, perfectly fine sunny days. In the PNW I ride year round unless there is ice on the roads. Aerostich gear allows that to happen. This isnt some fly by night fashion gear made in a Chicom sweatshop of inferior materials. No, this stuff is made in American sweatshops of only the finest materials, that are functional, durable, and given the long lasting nature of the gear, affordable.I love my supersuit. A bit of a warning though. If you get the gear in high viz yellow, you will forever be telling folks you are not a firefighter.

Rest assured, they will BEND OVER BACKWARD to make sure you are properly fitted in whichever suit you buy. After three years of consideration, I chose the Darien and Im thrilled. The fact of the matter is this is the finest store for motorcycle related gear on the planet. Every single item is chosen by the staff who know what they are talking about and why it is in the store. There is a method to all the madness and I wouldnt trust gear from anywhere else. The pinnacle of Aerostich is its protective gear, culminating in the R3. I commute with it in every season. In Summer it allows me to wear shorts and T shirt, in Winter it accommodates a heated vest and other layering. It is unstoppable. It is washable. Waterproof. Totally over-engineered with pockets and zippers thought out on a micro and macro level to service exactly what a motorcyclist needs. Frankly its hard knock as an ugly, or uncool suit completely misses the point. I first thought it was unseemly, but after some time realized that it vastly outweighs the small ding one takes to ones stylin’ when wearing it. It allows you to dress HOWEVER you want because it protects you from head to toe, assembled around you in thirty seconds. I laugh at other motorcyclists who are stuck lugging around armoured jackets, pants that only make sense on a bike, and rain gear shoved in a pocket. I have worn a suit and a tie under it and I believe the data demonstrates I am better protected than they are! Plus, I never have to debate whether I should be geared up when riding. It rolls up - this takes a learning curve - and fits very snugly beside my helmet in my 45l topcase. Boom! I walk up to my bike wearing WHATEVER I need to wear for the day, haul out the R3, zip it down, put on my helmet and I roar off. People love seeing me from far off, and in the summer its venting is just superb. I was worried about the heat in the summer but after several very hot summers I can say it breathes and vents better than anything and just as well as mesh. And when its 100 outside I dont care if you are naked, the hot air will still be hot. This breathes. And I will NEVER EVER ride without an R3. Ever. I have the coolest Aeroleather jacket, leather jeans, and Lewis boots and they just collect dust (even though I look awesome). The benefits of the frumpy R3 outweighs them too vastly to even mull. The only item of Aerostich that I wouldnt wear are their now discontinued boots. Theyre super safe but scream motorcycle gear and arent for walking. I wear Rokkers or Daytons and never have to consider my clothing when riding which means I ride a hell of a lot more.

I wore out and outgrew my first Roadcrafter after 20 years of regular wear riding daily in southern California and 10-12 months a year in Denver and 8-10 months a year in Minneapolis. I replaced that with a Darien suit that kept me warm and dry and safe from road rash for the next 15 years and 200,000 miles of commuting and adventure touring. Ive used everything from Aerostich riding gear to their Messenger bag (large, for me) to their bike covers and everything Ive bought from the company exceeded my expectations. Although I live more than 600 miles from Duluth, I have been one of Andys most loyal customers over many years. In all, I think Ive owned at least four of his suits: Two one-piece RC suits (I, ahem, outgrew the first one), one two-piece (unfortunately, this is the one the EMTs cut off of me after my only serious bike wreck in 50+ years), and a Darien jacket and pants combo. I still have (and use) the latest one-piece RC, and the Darien combo. Two things I really like about Andys riding suits: First, theyre made in the USA! Second, Aerostich is the only place I know where you can get non-leather riding gear custom-made and -- should you ever need it -- repaired. With all the other brands, you can get small, medium, large, etc. If you need the arms or legs of your new Aerostich suit lengthened or shortened, all you have to do is order it that way!The Made in USA aspect is really important to me, especially as Ive gotten older. Do you really want to help put an American worker out of a job, by buying some ill-fitting gear made overseas? Really? The custom part is just as important. Andys people keep track of the suits you buy, and can make recommendations based on their computer history as to what size might fit you the best. (Try that with any of the Pakistani or Chinese riding suit companies!)Ill end with a story. In 1998 I took a European tour with Edelweiss Bike Travel, to attend BMWs 75th Anniversary party in Berlin. We started in Munich, rode south, turned left, rode eastbound across Austria, turned left, and into the Czech Republic. It rained solidly all the way. Really pouring, hour after hour. We spent the night at a hotel in Ceske Budejovice (where they make the original Budweiser...)About half way across Austria it was raining so hard I couldnt see, so I pulled over for a cup of coffee. The coffee shops front court was filled with bikes, whose riders all had the same idea. I walked inside, unzipped and removed my one-piece RC suit, and sat down with my coffee. Every rider in the shop looked at me -- not because I was so different than them, but because I was DRY. They all looked (and felt, Im sure) like drowned rats in comparison.Whatever they were wearing wasnt as rainproof as my Aerostich suit. And thats about all you need to know.See you on the road. Ill be riding my BMW GS with DMC Expedition Sidecar attached. Mike Pandzik, Shawnee KS.

I had a major crash in a Roadcrafter suit and landing from 15 feet in the air doing about 50 mph felt almost like landing on down comforter. No impact, no damage, and no road rash. I own both styles of their suits with one of the first Dariens in neon yellow. Still going strong maybe a decade later. The suits are inexpensive for their durability, comfort, and protection. Plus, when another rider sees you in an Aerostich, they give you silent respect for being hardcore. Its like wearing a superhero outfit!Great company to do business with to. Funny catalog. Andy saved my motorcycling career after my accident and led to some of the best times of my life once I got back on the bike.Buy the gear and you will love it.

Beware Custom Suites! First of all, I have to say that their riding gear is very well built, and I know that most people are very happy with their suits. I also like the gear that they carry. However, My experience should cause you to think twice if you are about to have any custom size options made to your riding gear - especially for the $ you are about to shell out! When you decide to purchase, Aerostich will send you a suit to try on. From their, you can call and talk through options with their sales staff - great concept!I followed this process and ordered this suit with armor, knee pads, knee pucks and a back protector, all at the same time so that it would be designed to accommodate. However, since day one the suit has been uncomfortable to wear. So it has hung in the closet for most of its life. The issue is that the suit fits tight around the knees, chest and under the armpits. If I take out all of the armor that I paid extra for, then the suit fits. Bottom line - they did not account for the products that they sold me.Immediately after receiving the suit, I called to state my concerns. The suggestion was to wear the suit without the knee pads or the back protector! No fix was offered! Instead of going without protection, I have worn the suit fully armored on four separate trips since owning it.I have called at least a dozen times, that I can recall, looking for help. Each time the representatives basically said that there was nothing they could do since the suit is custom. The last time I called, which was probably a year ago, the person said for me to bring it in for a fitting which is not practical based on distance – 1200 miles.Because this is a premium product, I expect more cooperative customer service from this company. I have tried to work out an arrangement to resolve this, and all they have offered is for me to spend more money to have them modify. In addition, the suggested modifications would only resolve about half of the issues.

TOO Good! After two decades and hundreds of thousands of miles wearing two Darien jacket & pants combos, and three Road crafter 1-pc suits a visit today to the Duluth store and factory prompts this review.I was run off a (gravel) road at 90 km/hr by an elderly driver in rural Saskatchewan when riding my WeeStrom while wearing a 1 pc Roadcrafter. Both the suit and I were undamaged but Emergency Medical Services were called. The ambulance drivers insisted on transporting me to the hospital for evaluation. They wanted to cut the suit off me, but I removed the suit, helmet, gloves, boots etc and left them with my bike before entering the ambulance. The hospital asked what happened (a high side resulting in a three-point landing with right elbow, right knee and right side of my helmet as impact areas) and I described the accident in detail. The hospital didnt believe I was in a high speed motorcycle get off because I had NO injuries, they suspected I was faking a motorcycle accident in order to obtain an opiate painkiller perscription.Seven nurses and one doctor entered the examination room (one at a time) and asked me to describe the accident. After recounting the accident eight times without any treatment I lost my temper with the 9th nurse asking for my story and I stated that I was tired of recounting my accident since it was obvious that no one was believing what I told them. The nurse stated that I would have shattered the elbow, abraded the knee to the femur and would have skull showing had my story been true so I was obviously not telling the truth. They had all *assumed* I was riding the bike wearing JUST the thin nylon travel clothing I was wearing when the ambulance delivered me to the hospital! When I showed them the Roadcrafter (and Shoei RF1000, Held Steve gloves, Sidi On-Road boots) on the web and asked them to confirm with the ambulance crew that I was wearing all of the above during the get off they whisked me into XRay and apologized for doubting my account of the accident. You can buy cheaper gear, you can buy more stylish gear but if there is more protective gear I have not seen it.Great gear, great people, great selection.Highly, highly recommended!
