Friendly, helpful folks. If youre an established gamer or comic book reader then Rogue Robot may not have what youre looking for. Excellent place to start, though, if youre just entering the hobby.
The entrance is off of 4th Avenue down the staircase. I was assisted by Marilyn and she is the friendliest shop attendant I have ever encountered! She was very helpful in locating the product I was looking for, and very knowledgeable of the pop culture industry. Their trivia of the day was also a wonderful surprise and delight. This is a family business that I would regularly support if I was a local. Thank you for assisting me today, Marilyn!
Great selection of comics, well organized. Very friendly staff. Lots of other goodies, ill be back!
Husband and I stopped by while in town visiting - cute store with a good selection of comics and board games. The best part was visiting with the owner. He stopped and chatted with us about different comics he had read and asked about our interests.
I just adore this place. We are here for Free Comic Book Day and the place is so welcoming and inviting to people of all ages and all walks of life. And everyone is so genuine. The kids are painting their free game pieces and later we will spend the afternoon reading comics and cultivating a love of reading and imagination. This place is a treasure.
Good variety of books and games, the owner was helpful. Geek Paradise.
Beautiful little store with lots of minis, dice, cards and comics and super nice staff.
Small store but has a great selection!
Nice little store with a good selection and very friendly staff.
Large selection of books, trades, games and more.
My favorite place in Duluth the owners are so nice and they have such a wide variety of stuff you cannot find at the other game shops
This store is pretty straightforward, and gets the job done. The sheer amount of comics they were able to fit into this tiny store is staggering, so they probably have what youre looking for, but good luck finding it. The way the comics are organized makes it a little difficult to browse, but if you have a title or author in mind, there will no doubt be something for you. They also have figurines and a few games.
Great collection!!
Good Prices, Good Location! The cashier was reluctant to talk to my boyfriend about magic the gathering, or give any feedback when he tried to talk to him about what types of cards he likes to use. He was just trying to be friendly! I understand people have bad days but William is such a sweetheart he just moved to Duluth and he wants to make friends he can play magic with! Good business but employees connecting with customers is what keeps the customers connecting with them.
Quiet, locally owned, decent selection and variety. Lots of comics, board games, AD&D, Magic the Gathering, Warhammer just to name a few. Large gaming area!
A nice comic & game store. Though it isnt huge, it has a decent selection of both. There is a nice open gaming area in the back. The games for sale even have their Board Game Geek ratings on little stickers. Its a nice touch that I havent seen before.
Good to have hobby specific stores around still, like this one. They didnt have everything I was looking for but did have new things I was not aware of also. Knowledgeable help. Trivia question daily to receive 10% off if answered correctly.
Great shop! A little hard to find, but worth the effort. Their retail space may seem a little cramped, but they do a good job of using every inch of it. At the same time the total use of their space seems to exude a very good attitude. What I mean is when you first enter its obvious that first and foremost they are a store where you can get a great variety of various geekdom products, but in the heart of the shop they very physically demonstrate they are really focused on the fans of those geekdoms. they have a relatively large area (about half of their total space I think!) dedicated for anyone who is seeking room to play some of the games of types they offer. The staff on hand seemed very friendly and knowledgeable without any pushiness. Specific to the type of store I would say they seem to have an EXCELLENT selection and stock of graphic novels, and for various miniatures as well. Parking can be a nuisance for any downtown store, but this store is only across the avenue and 2 doors down or so from a bus stop so its not bad at all if you travel smart.
Well stocked little shop, with a fantastic game room
Fantastic people! Way cool stuff here and they are happy to spend time talking with you. We totally geeked out on Team Titans Go! The 80s verses the current cartoon! ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Very welcoming and knowledgeable staff. They were able to find me a graphic novel to read after they gave me some time to explain what I was looking for and ask some questions. I will definitely be back.
Came here a week ago while visiting from Texas, and besides this place having a phenomenal comic book selection, board games and figurines. The employee that was there was incredibly nice and helped us out when we got stuck on black ice
Great place! super friendly staff, pretty good prices, and lots of different products. could be better at stocking Warhammer minus, but they put a little post it note on boxes that theyre getting in.
My (9yo) sons first time in a comic book store was great. He was a little overwhelmed by the choices, but the titles were accessible and we left happy. A hidden gem of Duluth.
It was pretty neat. Interesting stuff and definitely worth looking into. Unfortunately the one clerk there figured out I didnt think black widows lack of a movie was because of sexism and decided shed lecture me about it. It was annoying not because she disagreed with me but because she insisted she was absolutely right and refused to even consider that she might be wrong which is annoying especially when she has no evidence.Granted, this was two years ago and they might not have her there anymore.
Good selection and excellent staff. I learned a lot from the guy behind the counter. He definitely is full of nerd knowledge. Very helpful.
This is a cool little shop thats a must visit if you are in the area. My only complaint is that when I grabbed some stuff to buy, the prices were all wrong I guess? I ended up paying a bit more than the stuff was marked as which wasnt a problem, but just a little annoying seeing as how I had to be told that all the prices were actually wrong. Im sure it was an isolated incident as I did buy just some random grab bag style items. Still a must visit, employee was very friendly, and very welcoming.
Knowledge and helpful staff. Good selection of games and comics. They also have a fair amount of other collectables.
Wasnt my thing but looking at comics was cool! Nice little shop in Duluth
Cool game store and the owner is very helpful...the store dog is awesome! Decent collection of RPG books, if your a comic nut this is a good place! They also have space to play!
Friendly service, decent selection and large game room
Cool little comicbook and gaming store. Stopped in to pick up a few new DC titles when I was visiting Duluth a few weeks back. The lady working at the time was super nice and welcoming.
The people working here are very knowledgeable about Magic the Gathering and most Table top games. Would recommend a visit at least once
An amazing selection of dungeons and dragons figurines, books, and materials; however, the pricing of the Catan games is noncompetitive to say the least. Also wheres the AC? 3 stars
Pretty small selection. Knowledable staff. Large gaming area.
Fantastic selection of comic books and magic cards! The staff is super friendly and welcoming!
Ryan runs a great store with new and old comics to pick from great prices and just fun to hang and chat with. The store is always clean and a safe place
A nice gaming shop with fair prices and a good sized play area.
Very nice staff
Wasnt many selections for games, but the comic book collections are great.
Great selection and friendly!
Helpful, friendly staff; very limited selection, space for gaming
Great selection of games and comics, also a very nice play space. Very excited to attend an open board game night in the future.
So friendly, a large play space for any table top. Not overly busy, good staff and the crowd I met was inviting and clean :) Trouble finding enough people to play MTG on Friday nights, but I can forgive that for a smaller shop.
Awesome!!!
Decent selection of games to buy but prices are all MSRP. Huge area for playing games and nice staff.
Nice selection of back issues, wide selection of new comics as well. Welcoming atmosphere.
Great place to stop and grab some things. Hard to get in with construction though.
Best place to find the magic the gathering cards you need and play the game!
Nice selection, good customer service!
The employee was very helpful, nice little shop.
Owner is young and doesnt know older items from table top games. Good service and quality items.
Great place. Really friendly employees and a great place to play Dungeons and Dragons!
I really enjoy the casual Wednesday nights where there is commander and cube weekly
Out of all the comic shops in MN, this is my favorite one. Its a smaller store, but I like the atmosphere the most. I just wish it wasnt so far from home, but I always stop here when Im in Duluth.
Super fun store and good variety of products
I love this place. Friendly staff, helpful too. I highly recommend it to anybody.
Went in to order a game I couldve ordered on the internet and had in 2 days for much cheaper. Adventure Time themed Munchkin. Instead, as a 25 year Duluth native I decided to support my local game shop that Ive supported since it was Robin Goodfellow on Lake Ave.Paid in full when I put in the order and asked when it might be in as I needed it within 1 month. Was told they MIGHT have it in a month. (How?)Didnt have it in a month. No explanation.Told me theyd call me when it came in.Didnt call me when it came in. No explaination.Ive called six times to find out the status of my order, literally nobody I have talked to has any clue whats going on. Ive left my number 5 times and gotten called back twice.I finally talked to the owner who was very polite and helpful and told me he would ship the package if I gave him my address.I called back again a week later to see if it had shipped. The woman on the phone put me on hold for ten minutes while she asked everyone about the status, and said that if I had paid for it then they wouldnt put it out to sell to be sold if I had, (I didnt even know my order was at risk of being sold to another customer until she dropped that gem on me) but followed up that they had no record of me paying for it. Meanwhile, the receipt is still in my wallet. She was so snarky and accusatory that I ended up hanging up (still on hold) since enough of my time had been wasted dealing with this EXTREMELY SIMPLE transaction. I havent received a call back. They probably dont have my number. I only left it 5 times. The ordeal has now taken 4-5 hours to sort out and is no longer worth my time or worry. I bought it off Amazon instead. To the business, keep my 35 bucks, and use it to buy a book on customer service and book keeping. You can get them off of Amazon, and theyll be there in 2 days.I realize that this post comes off as very heated, I assure you I was nothing but polite and patient the entire time and finally had to post something as I was treated like absolute garbage in return. 2 months? I couldve ordered a house and it would be built by now.
Great selection. Friendly staff. Huge game room.
I have never had anything but pleasant experiences here. I play Magic: The Gathering, usually on Friday Nights. They also have Heroclix and Warhammer 40k events that I see. You can always see people showing up after school playing casual events. A huge selection of comics, heroclix, board games, magic cards and much more. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable.
Very helpful in trying to find beginner comics for my nephew.
Great events and geared more towards MGT and Warhammer it seems. They do carry a little of everything.
The Rogue Robot has instant curb appeal with its well done sign pointing down the stairway into its below street level store. The store itself, while small, manages to pull of a sizable gaming area that is quite comfortable for those close to downtown looking to game on events or weekends. The store seemed to be run by one very hard working, competent 14 year old and contained all the the things I look for in a comic establishment. They had two back issues that I havent been able to find, a Shuma Gorath Heroclix (as well as the gigantic Fin Fang Foom which shows its dedication to that particular game) as well a decent variety of other Games Workshop staples. I was very happy to visit Rogue Robot and will keep it in mind whenever I find myself there again.
Lots of product and room, one of the best hobby shops Ive ever been to.
They didnt have Kamala Khan Ms Marvel, or really ANY female centered comics.
Great shop, awesome prices and super helpful folks!
Any hobby enthusiast will appreciate the atmosphere cultivated by Rogue Robot Games & Comics.
Lots of selection and good prices
Lady working there was very crabby and mean would not recommend
Friendly staff and had exactly what I was looking for and more
Nice location and lots of tables to game on.
Great comic book selection
I love the shop with war hammer and magic but special orders are very questionable.
Mediocre game selection, but a nice play area, plenty of free parking the n the weekend
Lots of past and current issues. Gaming books and pieces. Collectables and a game room. Staff was friendly.
Cool place!
