Love this grocery store and their sushi chef! I love being able to get fresh sushi from their market! As well as all my grocery needs.

I can always find great new things to purchase, new foods to try and great gifts in the little specialty shopping area. Love the bakery and the great sweet treats in the deli. Love the older lady who works in the deli. She knows how to take care of the customer.

Mount Royal Market has an incredible selection of allergy friendly options. And I love that the chicken tenders are dairy free!

Best grocery store in Northern MN. Their seafood case is amazing, and knowledgeable employees who can answer not just food questions but cooking questions too. Only place in town to shop, imo.

My wife had a homemade mask on and it wasnt good enough for the management at this store. The brought her their approved mask and asked her to put it on. We were very disappointed in how this store chose to handle this situation.

The last full service grocery store in Duluth. They still offer car side service. Great selection, fair prices, excellent deli and meat department. House made sushi (with free samples). Staff is always attentive,helpful and friendly. There is also a coffee shop right at the front door

If youre looking for something just a little bit different these folks are going to have it.

Enjoy shopping at the Market. The Bakery is unique and I am able to find those hard to find items there. I’ve used the pickup service (internet ordering) and it’s really been helpful when disabled.

Only store around I have been in that still forces customers to wear masks! Our family will shop somwhere elese and recomend you do the same if you dont want to be forced to wear a mask! The mandate is over.. now get over yourself!

If you are looking for a fancy grocery store look no further. Mount Royale offers everything you need for a nice meal, a charcuterie board, or whatever you want to eat. I would recommend to anyone looking for something you cant find anywhere else

The variety and quality of products here cannot be beat. I always find something new or interesting to try in their fresh sections. Because of the cost associated with the fine quality fresh products I find that the prices on staple products can be somewhat higher than the other local supermarkets but certainly within a reasonable range. Just expect to pay the full retail price for most staple products as opposed to seeing large numbers of specials or coupons. That being said, I find the shopping experience very enjoyable and calm which I dont find at most supermarkets. This alone can be worth the small uptick in bill. At the checkout is where I find my only difficulty in that the younger staff I have been helped by have generally been in unpleasant or disinterested moods in a way that seems different than my checkout experience at local supermarkets. Of course there is a wide variety of communication styles between people and nobody is perfect at work. Still, coming from a guest service industry myself, Id like to see a smile or at least a sincere greeting. Those are hallmarks of the upscale business. Its a small thing but it jars with the excellence of the rest of my experience. I do still fully recommend Mount Royal. The shopping experience is the most important part.

Great grocery store

Although I love the products and service, be careful about checking your expiration dates, more than just an occasional past due date remain on the shelves.

Picked up a couple of roasted chickens when we got home and ate them they tasted like old chickens, when this was explained to the deli manager they acted very put out, but they did refund us.

Duluths prestigious grocer. Boars Head meats, fantastic imports, amazing seafood, they even have Cannolis. For a former NY native this is heaven.

Its simply the finest shopping experience for groceries in the city of Duluth.

I really want to like this grocery store, and in general I do, but there are several things which keep me from going regularly.The first is cost. Im willing to pay more for quality produce and meat, but all the items here are typically more expensive. Im not willing to pay 1.25-2x as much for things like a bottle of ketchup or a can of beans, so Id rather get those elsewhere, and by then I might as well just do all my shopping elsewhere since I dislike multiple trips.But my main complaint is the bagging. I think every time Ive been there, Ive ended up with raw meat with produce or other items, even when I specifically request the raw meat be separate. And delicate produce seems to end up smashed under heavier items. This alone makes it not worth visiting. If Im going to buy food there, I dont want it destroyed before Ive even left the store.

A bit bourgeois, but for the most part you get what you pay for (minus produce). The produce always seems sad and wilted. However, as a self respecting New Englander, this is the only place in Duluth Ill go to buy seafood. The gentlemen behind the seafood and meat counter are knowledgeable and helpful.

A symposium of enticing displays, here. They have an intriguing gift shop with ideas that most customers do fancy. They also stock products that you will not find in the common, everyday supermarket. Knowledgeable managers and a well staffed checkout team are also to be found here.

Great deli with amazing sliced roast beef. Customer service is good. Prices are not cheap but quality is there. You get what you pay for

Nice store but way to expensive..

Good store, dimly lit but appears to be clean. Friendly staff. Love the sushi deals and the sushi chef gave me extra wasabi free of charge. Everything is overpriced so I go here for only the things I need that wont be at other stores. Im a student and I advise to anyone else on a budget to stop by to see if they have any good manager deals on meat. Can get two burger patties for $2 sometimes or $4 steaks that are actually decent. Shop smart and its a good experience.

Mount Royal is always a great shopping experience. I usually dread getting groceries, but this store is smaller, friendlier, and more pleasantly lit than the bigger grocery stores, making an essential task much less stressful. They are also the ONLY place I can get certain products that are staples in my kitchen.

Very nice, clean place to shop. Such a wide variety of produce and pretty much everything else you can think of. I will be doing most of my shopping here from now on.EDIT: I have since revisited this location a few more times. Unfortunately, while there is a wide variety of produce, most of it is not good. I was examining a fresh shipment of blueberries, and I examined about 30 packages, and every single package contained mold. The cherry tomatoes are often squishy and moldy, and for my last three visits there have been fruit flies all over the tomatoes. There were soft onions and cucumbers, and just generally old produce. You can tell that they don’t rotate their stock as often as they should. The quantity is there, but the quality of the produce definitely needs a lot of work. I will not shop here again. If you want good produce, go to the Super One down the road.

Well maintained store with friendly staff. This store includes a Caribou and offers hot or cold lunch and fresh desserts. The seating area is a great place to rest, eat, meet friends, or hold an informal business meeting.

The best ham and cheese quiche is found here and it is to die for.

Good variety, but overpriced. Very rude manager. My wife recently visited the store with our baby and suggested kindly that they should have a couple of parking spots for people with small children as other local stores have. She suggested it as it has been so cold and icy, and it is difficult to haul around a child. Rather than responding in a professional way the manager rolled his eyes and said yeah, Ill put that on my list. I spend hundreds of dollars here every week because it is convenient for me, but I will now go out of my way whenever possible to avoid it.

Fantastic place for groceries. Wide selection, healthy and natural alternatives to commercial brands, and a widely stocked deli. They make pretty good sushi daily, which is something rare around here. Everytime I want lunch Ill snag some sushi from here if Im in a rush. Good atmosphere, well organized, fantastic.

My Royal has been a favorite for years. They are not a big box stores and stock items and sizes of items that you dont always see elsewhere. Good produce Dept, fantastic deli and bakery to die for. Located in shopping center with 2 restaurants, library, hair salon, bottle shop, banking and post office. The ideal spot to get things done!

Best deli and salad bar in Duluth. Nice chill dinning area with fireplace and caribu coffee close but not too close. Wednesday sushi specials, but cubs sushi is better. Everything else in the store thats not on sale is jacked up for prices. But they do have drive up grocery loading so once you put your groceries in the shopping cart you literally dont have to touch them again until you get home. Worth the price hike for some.

The only store in Duluth that I have found certain spices. The store is well laid out. Excellent service by store representatives. Clean, fresh, & friendly.

One of the best places to grab lunch. There are endless options and the food is wonderful. Each day they have a different special and if your not feeling the special there are tons of sandwiches and salads to choose from, you could go here 4 days a week for lunch and never get the same thing. Highly recommended if you have a few people who cant decide where to eat.

If you are looking for something exotic or unusual for your meal, this is the place to go. They have a crazy selection of gourmet foods that I have to visit from time to time just to get something different. A little pricey, but you get what you pay for, this isnt great value food.

My reviews are going down becasue they seem to be lowering the quality of the product they get i go there and spend a bit more for quality now for many of the product all they offer is a inferior our family brand after giving it a chance everything i have had has been of pour quality and taste really wouldnt mind if it tasted ok its bad. Then we used to enjoy the Minnesota beef brand they used in the butcher area but then they downgraded the quality of beef they get there as well very disappointed they still get in a few cuts of prime grade but overall not as good of beef products offered better off with super one

One of the most unique and favorite places to shop. Everytime I stop into mount royal market I find a new or exotic food, snack, or gift. They have a great gift shop with great gift ideas you dont see anywhere else.

Great small grocery. Prices are a little higher but service is wonderful. They have wonderful canolis if you are looking for a treat. Deli and butcher counters are best in the area when it comes to grocery stores.

The bakery department was really helpful and went out of their way when I was trying to find bread for stuffing. It was late and they pulled some bread off the shelf that was about to become day-old, sliced it up for me and gave it to me at no charge! Saved me a bunch of time and I really appreciated the great service right before the Thanksgiving holiday!

The store may have products that others do not but the whole store is over priced. The 8pk mini bottled coke is on sale there and the sale price is the same as the regular price at a S1. Same with their 12pks. Not sure why anyone would want to waste their hard earned dollars at this store.

Mount Royal Fine Foods is a higher end grocery store. They have a deli and salad bar and a seating area where you can have lunch. They also have sushi made fresh daily and a Caribou coffee in store. The prices are high but so is the quality of much of their products. They have some of the best fresh fish like, salmon and ahi tuna steaks, available.

They have almost everything youre looking for. Quality food goods. They are more expensive.

A good selection of fine foods. A good deli with different selections of food, such as sandwiches, cheesecake slices, chicken, salad bar, and much more. A small but fully stocked gift area carries a variety of goodies, where you can find gifts to go with the seasons. Feel lile a cup of coffee? You can get one right when you walk in the door! Theres also a lovely sitting area behind the deli in the corner. Go to the far end of the store to the right of the main entrance to find more delicious desserts! Keep your eye out, you never know what you are going to find at Mount Royal!

They have a wide variety of goods from greeting cards to gift items...a great deli and bakery. Caribou Coffee offers their products in the Market and a place to sit and enjoy them.

A boutique type grocery store - they have some stuff you cant get in regular food stores . When they have it on sale the meat is very good. The deli and bakery are excellent

Mount Royal is tucked into a mall, off Woodland Avenue. Tucked in behind the Holiday convenience store. Very popular store...the parking lot is shared with several out buildings - connected with the mall. The mall is clean and rather large. We ate from the deli...very clean. One side of the aisle is heavily supplied with hot foods. In the center aisle is a long bar of vegetables, fruits:, and, an olive bar.

Has the usual grocery items of course, but its more specialty than thrift so expect a little upcharge. That said, it has gourmet items you wont find at, say, Plaza SuperOne. Selection worth exploring.

Love this store! They have Caribou, a sushi and salad bar, great deli and bakery and many choices. It may seem expensive but they offer everything from organic to generic so you do not have to pay high prices if you dont want to. I highly suggest it!

Need a more upscale shopping experience from Super One? Look no further then Mount Royal. A great selection of premium products, and not overly ridiculous prices (but do expect to pay a tidge more then other area locals on non-sale items). Fast and friendly full service perishable departments will keep your shopping experience moving forward, and your cart full of what you need.
