Great customer service, fresh spices and quality food. The only reason I dont give 5 stars is that all of the deli salads seem to have fresh red onion and thats not my personal favorite flavor
While thier signs on thier windows say all are welcome, if someone has a reason to not wear a mask or cant wear a mask because of medical reasons you are not allowed inside... very discrimatory
Love this Co-op! We stop every time we make it to the North Shore. Lots of healthy, tasty, and awesome products for food, your body, and life. We always find plenty of treats and love how many local and MN made products they feature. The employees are super friendly and helpful. Beautiful store and a wonderful location. Stop by, youll love it too!
A very clean well stocked store full of healthy choices! Great parking available. The deli has great choices for a last minute meal.
Owner/customer for over a decade, you dont have to be a member to get fresh, often locally grown produce, artisan breads and locally sourced meat. Love my co-op! You will, too. Try it, two locations in Duluth.
We got sandwiches from their deli (my dad and I) BEST SANDWICH IVE HAD!
Im so glad I buy locally grown produce. This store offers this and a wide variety of healthy foods. Staff is friendly and knowledgeable. Thank you for all of your hard work keeping us safe during covid.
Happily stopped by for my girls that are vegan and there was lots to choose from. Store is super clean and staff is nice.
As of today I will no longer shop at Whole Foods. The employees do not know how to approach people, they lack tact and simple social skills. It’s too bad really, it was a great place to get some hard to find items. It would appear that other reviews describe a situation similar to what I had experienced. Rude and ridiculous employees more interested in being mask monitors and less interested in good customer service.
Awesome. I found a place that carries plant based meat substitutes that actually taste like meat :)
All stuff it a good stuff here woth to shop
As a co-op employee in Minneapolis, I am floored by how awesome it is inside and how much fresh salad and baked goods are here!
Great food selection. Lots of organic products!
Went for some organic produce. The dept. Was well stocked and fresh. Loved the bulk flower and nuts. Everyone there was very nice and helpful, especially Fred in the produce dept.
The store is very discriminatory. They wanted to kick me out of the store for not wear a mask all the way over my nose. I tried to explain to them that I was recently in the doctors office and had a condition on my face that my doctor said not to cover. But they kept insisting I was not following policy. This store preachers that they are not discriminatory but by not letting people shop who have a condition is very discriminatory. You are denying pleasures what other people can enjoying and that is discrimination. I will not be shopping here anymore and will let all my family and friends know of this incident and how discriminatory this store is
Great selection of wonderful food, so wish this was in my hometown!
The deli is amazing! Tons of vegetarian and vegan options.
Excellent co-op! All your typical offerings including organic produce, bulk items, and local products. There is a large selection of pre-made sandwiches, salads, pastas, etc. to go plus a build your own counter with vegan and gluten free options. My teen daughter and I both found a good lunch and the grocery items we needed. Highly recommend.
Its way too expensive!!!! Sieta almond tortilla shells were $12 and in Florida I pay $6...everything was more...
Stopped to grab a meal on my way to the North Shore. Deli salads were delicious.
The produce here takes better than I ever thought possible.
Amazing place, very friendly and helpful employees, great food options
Variety of fresh spices. This is my go to for these items. Friendly and warm staff.
Walked in to the delicious smell of spices and fresh foods. Great selection, crew was helpful
Whats not to love about the Co-op! They have a huge amount of things to grab n eat from their deli. Nice variety of holistic and organic things! You can find almost everything here.
Great Co-op, produce is excellent, has a nice selection but is limited in what they have room to stock. I wish I could just shop at the co-op but find I still need to frequent Super One.
Just a great place to shop, real food for real people.
Pleasant workers all around.Found it to highly priced.
Love going here. Always great customer experience. Nice sale going on right now also.
Ill shop here for the selection but not the customer service. Theyll have some great vegan options that I cant find anywhere else! Id do without the rude customer service however. As a person of color myself, I felt wrongly discriminated and disrespected more here than most places from a lump of their staff (not all the staff as they have some great older familiar faces here, but the younger ones Ive never seen before have been abrasive and downright unpleasant).Short and sweet, I expect this and Im used to it if I go to the west end location. Id prefer the downtown location when permittable, or even the little co-op in Cloquet as their owners make me feel welcomed anytime Im there.
Love this store. So clean and organized. Workers are very pleasant
Good selection of organic and healthier foods
It smells great in here! Small grocery store but the food is great! Service is friendly. Try the pie!
We’ve been in the area for the past year and half. I’ve never in my life seen a place 100% staffed by mean, wicked people. And I’m not just talking since the pandemic started, although it’s made them even crazier. They are just rude and vile. How this place is open is beyond me. I’ll drive out of my way to the one in Ashland. World of difference in people.
Daniella at the Denfeld location was very rude. I have a LEGIT medical exemption from mask wearing. There is a nice way to approach mask wearing (or lack thereof) and the staff I dealt with was extremely rude. Don’t waste your money here. They discriminate against those that have immune problems or cannot wear masks.
I always love shopping at the Denfeld WFC. Everyone is so friendly and helpful. Just feels like I belong:)
Mushroom logs are too cool!
Healthy food choices.
Love this Co-op. Food is so fresh, the store is spotless and the clerks are so cheerful. My favorite place to shop!
We need to find a grocery store and this came back as part of my search. Friendly staff, fresh produce, clean. We got what we needed.
Amazing place
They always have the things I come to grocery shop for in stock & they have the best sweet treats too ❤
This was my second visit to this co-op location. Though I was there to just grab a few things, the selection of items seems plentiful given the store size. I also had very friendly exchanges with one of the baristas as well as a cashier. Look forward to visiting again!
Really fantastic coop. Clean. Organized. Well stocked. Sometimes have to go to the 4th Street location for certain items. But Denfeld is always listening to shoppers needs.Definitely the better of the two stores.
Always have what I need
Love the place, although as someone who frequents co ops around the country, I wish the hot food bars would have healthier options. Too much Canola oil and sunflower oil and the burritos and other Ready To Eat breakfast items really are pretty awful for you at the end of the day. I equate these co ops (including those from the twin cities) to something you pair with a healthy lifestyle and Id like to see more effort on their part to promote healthy eating with the food they prepare. This coming from someone heavily involved in the healthcare industry.
Love this store lots of different yummy things and always really friendly
First, Ive shopped here for as long as the Denfeld store has been open and before that Id shopped both downtown locations (old and new). While its improved over the years, there has always been an air of pretention among employees. Im not sure why- the type of person applying or something with the culture there maybe. Thats something Ive looked past for the most part because of food limits I have and the selection and quality. However, today I cant look beyond the rudeness and lack of consideration for individual human beings. Ive heard of employees there yelling at customers before. Once, a pastor went in and when asked how he was, he thanked Jesus in his reply. He was hollered and pointed at and told he couldnt say that there. Thats one example. It seems freedom and the expectation of respect need to be left outside of the door at the Co-op, even if youre a member owner (I am). Today I learned that when someone has a medical condition that requires them to feel an urgent need to take in air outside of a mask/pulls the mask off of the nose to take breaths in order not to have an issue while trying to shop, immediate, forceful action is taken to humiliate and accost. I took my mask off my nose today. I had a need to, and respectfully breathed in air through my nose with my mouth still covered. Suddenly, a female employee in an aggressive stance, eyes huge, was standing in front of my child and me. She demanded I cover my nose. I get it. She felt this was her duty. I calmly replied that because of a medical concern I needed my nose uncovered then. She was clearly angry and said, Then you will have to speak to the manager!. She literally marched away, and I felt afraid but thought, okay, Ill get the last thing I need and get out of here. It was an awful feeling. But the worst part was that she, and then also the MOD, Luke, seemed to WANT other people to hear and see. He was short, rude, abrasive, and ready to force me to leave my grocery basket on the ground if I wouldnt obey him, even though all I did was say I had a need to have my nose uncovered right then, but would cover it up to get my last item. It was the most disgusting display of patriarchal dominance I have ever seen toward a woman and her child from a male employee anywhere. I just needed to grab one more thing, I said Id cover my nose (even though my symptoms were being exacerbated by the frightening, mob-mentality, shaming treatment of Luke and his coworker). I didnt raise my voice, but they did, I didnt put up a fight, I only said what was true and was treated like a leper. Masks are policy, yes. I had one covering my face, even though Im exempt in MN. I let my nose have a breath while I scanned the cooler. That is all. The co-op doesnt practice inclusivity. If they treated me this way, if they believe people like me shouldnt go in and shop if we have to take a breath, theyre discriminating against every person with a disability, illness or condition that requires a quick breath to avoid a potentially larger medical issue. They offered no solution, only to kick me out and not allow me to purchase my small basket of food. Something is amiss with the training. The aggressive nature of how the employees handled us was disturbing. My child was afraid and anxious, and asked me afterward why they behaved that way. Im guessing group-think of staff who witnessed it will prevent fairness/objectivity when their GM addresses this (*edit: he never called back) but my child and I know what happened. I used to be afraid of the police, but they arent as dehumanizing as Luke and his staff member. Shop somewhere else if you run the risk of experiencing breathing/panic issues while shopping. Ive never been treated like this for needing to breathe through my nose, and other grocery stores in the area have lovely, happy staff with a kind and joyful disposition. Im sorry to have ever wasted money becoming a member owner at WFC. Update: The GM answered my husbands call. He took no responsibility for his staff or not returning my call. No surprise there.
Thank you for making this store and giving us a choice to shop for better food and going against the status quo of the disgusting, chemically engineered rat poison they call food in almost every other grocery store. I also really appreciate the environment you guys have created and the level of customer service you keep up in the store. It is a very very welcoming atmosphere and I personally think its necessary to have stores like this everywhere and completely replace the grocery stores throughout the entire planet, oh well, wishful thinking. But hey, one small negative comment, or a suggestion for improvement rather, is to get rid of the plastic in the produce and bulk isle. Let people figure out how to get their food in an environmentally friendly way and stop polluting the world with their repelling plastic!
Only place I can find fresh Carolina Reaper pepper now and then. The hot and salad bar are.awesome ... there is space with tables and chairs, so not a bad place to meet for lunch.
Great coop.
Comfortable shopping experience. Enjoy their fresh produce options.
Great Place To Go 4 Great Food 🍉🍅🍔🥪🏃♀️
First and foremost I want to say many employees here are amazing and outstanding. I have received exemplary customer service from many of them. Some of the managers are A-OK. For the most part I have had negative experiences dealing with managers, not to say they are all bad. The experience I had today as a loyal customer was abysmal. Not only was I treated with disdain and disrespect my disabilities were not noted. I requested to order my groceries for pick up and the manager would not try to help me in any way in doing this. Just, Go to Instacart. Now why should a customer pay a fee to come to the store and pick up the groceries?? Perhaps having a monopoly on health food stores make them think they can treat people any old way. Not me. I was simply expressing my opinions and beliefs on wearing a mask as I have asthma. I kindly explained to many people that our civil liberties are being taken away little by little.(Which I might add many people agreed.) I understand some persons do not have the intellect to grasp that one. As far as I know it is a free country to voice your opinions on such matters not to mention I am a customer. Back in my day we had this thing called Customer Service. I will not partake in this Occult Ritual not now or ever. Furthermore, not only am I an kind and compassionate human being, I am a disabled Veteran who served her country for nearly six years honorably. I have no doubt these Beta males would never get that. How I was treated could easily warrant a lawsuit. Trust me. The lesser beings I dealt with would never get a grip on that one. No worries all my Vet friends and health gurus will get the message. I aint scared. I have arranged to purchase my items elsewhere as my previous health food store was glad to accommodate me as were some other nearby stores. Score. They agreed how I was treated was absolutely not acceptable. Funny how these fools tried to paint my demeanor in a certain way and that is impossible as I am a Magickal person. Not everything is hidden in plain sight. It is tough when the Veil comes down and I am powerful as my ancestors are. More powerful in the Etheral. You so called people do not scare me. People that want power so much have to take it like a bully. A true powerful being just is..... deal with it. Out with the old, in with the new. Cannot wait to see what your books look like soon. I hear lots of stores are really struggling. Good times. Money and Sigils are powerful. Peace!! From a Goddess and a Warrior you will be met.
Just a great place to shop... Love it
Excellent soda and soup
I want to thank the staff, for going above and beyond. We are very grateful for their thoughtfulness. We all enjoyed the product that was made for us! Very friendly staff and great place to shop. Again thank you very much!
Pretty good deli with overall good atmosphere
My family has shopped here most of my life! I have seen them go from small to the two fully operational stores with outreach services and classes! This has been a great business for the Duluth area! Now that I live in the West end I am loving the new location!
Very nice grocery store. Its unaffiliated with Whole Foods Market, so I dont know how their quality standards compare, although it seemed very good, but smaller, they have CBD oil, and the staff isnt as knowledgeable. We did very high quality groceries that were mostly organic.
What wonderful choices for a picnic on the north shore! They have everything!
Local co-op with healthy options and great produce.
This Co op is wonderful! It has everything! Great atmosphere, friendly staff who offered to order an item for me that they didnt have. Lots of produce & organic nuts, flours & grains in bins. Will definitely visit again!
Fabulous! Great deli and pick up and go food!
Freshest, hot, healthy lunch you can get! I always feel better after visiting the Co-op.
Great location! New store, fresh produce, clean store with friendly staff. Fair prices, and great incentives for members. More people should shop their local co-ops and farmers markets!
Great store, great selection and very friendly staff.
This relatively new location is a better one than the 4th St. location. Off street parking with a spacious parking lot is the difference. There are health products here, you will not find anywhere outside of the Whole Foods stores.
I thought that I would have to go to the supermarket after getting what I could at the co-op but no need. That have a great range at many price points. And the hot snack foods are excellent as well, I had the wild rice burger which was very tasty
Been an owner for over a decade, even buy my dog food here, happy and healthy. Making pickles with all ingredients from whole foods co-op great place to shop!
Great place to grab a quick lunch or any grocery need.
Clean store with wide aisles. Fresh and varied selection in store. Great salad bar that includes hot items that change daily. Coffee and deli is high quality also. The staff is the best at this store.
Great quality of food and excellent variety
Fresh, organic, and local!
Same great selection of groceries as the Hillside location, but more room to move around. Deli offers hot sandwiches, Produce is top notch. Great customer service!
What a great selection of local produce, natural and organic items, and fantastic baked goods. The deli is loaded with both hot and cold options. Beautiful, well maintained, new store with great service.
Friendly, knowledgeable staff and excellent selections. Becoming a coowner/member is very worth it.
Lunch bar had limited selections, was hard to recognize who was a staff member and who was a customer making it difficult to find direction on whats where. However the quality of the product they sell is second to none in the area. I appreciate this store for what they do. They also carry positivley 3rd(?) street bakery products which is another co-op bakery.
A great co-op in the Duluth area. Has everything you want from a co-op without the crowds and busy-ness of the other co-op in Duluth. Has a nice eating area with lovely artwork and big, sunny windows.
The Denfeld co-op is a grocery store 10 years ahead of the neighborhood and will serve as a central and shining beacon of development and de-food-desert-ization for years to come. Find different product lines and more spacious layout than the Hillside location without the hustle and bustle. This location offers a slightly reduced chance you will see someone you have awkward (grass fed) beef with.
We went to buy gf products and natural grains. Great choices. Great services. The person at customer service was very informative on joining the club. Love this store.
Love this place- decent selection and awesome staff. A bit pricey on many items, but really good stuff. I recommend shopping here first to see what you can get, anything you couldnt find or that was too expensive is probably at Cub or SuperOne.
New store knows the community and their normal customers. Espresso, fun deli, salad bar, great variety, and prices for all budgets, beautiful store. Have been shopping coops for years: WHOLE Food neighborly coop is holy grail of food shopping.
The best store around, great staff, healthy food options. I love to eat at the hot and cold salad bar.
Is a good speciality grocery store but.. over priced considering I can find most of the same products, and equal quality, less expensive at other local locations.
Nice big store with a great selection.
I mostly come here for lunch at the deli, which is always delicious, and depending on what you get, is comparably priced with other dining-out options. I used to get lunch at the Erbert & Gerberts across the street, but the food at the Co-op is far better tasting, healthier, more varied, and I found that the prices were actually not that much higher. This location seems brighter, cleaner and larger than the central hillside location, and the employees seem a little friendlier as well.
Laughably rude, confrontational and condescending staff! Wow!
Always a great experience. Helpful, friendly staff and healthy food. What could be better?
Always outstanding
Great staff, always helpful. I just wish the inventory was the same as Hillside. I do most of my shopping at Denfeld but sometimes have to make a trip to Hillside for a few things.
Love whole foods. Staff is always helpful and friendly. And they have a larger food selection than the wholefoods on 4th
Need better helpers. But I do like there store
This grocery store is getting better. Lots more selection than when it opened a year ago. Staff is friendly. Good location, too...right off the Bong bridge and connected to a CVS by parking lot.
Great selection. Excellent quality fresh produce. The deli has tons of delicious options. Rustic inn pies sold here!!
Great store with a great selection. Isles are not crowded, staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Thinking about becoming an owner after this experience.
