Seams is a great small, locally owned fabric store. A wonderful alternative to the big box stores. Jessy not only provided some really helpful quilting tips, she spent time with me on the phone working through which fabrics and batting were right for me. All of my deliveres arrived quickly and the fabric was exactly as I expected. I was able to visit the store once, and it was just beautiful. The selection was great and I ended up even more inspired, taking on some new and interesting projects. Love Seams, love Jessy. Check out the store, or visit online!
Seams is such a wonderful fabric shop! The owner and staff are extremely knowledgeable and very friendly. They’ll help you find just what you need for a project. There is a great selection of quality fabrics, with other fun items like books, buttons, pins, stickers and clothing tags. You can shop both online and in-store. Highly recommended!
I love ordering from Seams! They have a great selection of garment fabrics, and some wonderfully fun and funky quilting fabrics, too. Shipping is fast, and the one time there was a small question about my order, the shop contacted me almost immediately to get the information they needed from me, and got my order out into the mail the next day. Seams fan for life!
I love Seams! Such a great shop with helpful people, beautiful fabrics, and a lot of other really cool crafting/sewing necessities.
Super kinds helpful service with tons of fun fabrics, and embroidery kits. Will be back as soon as I finish the three projects I picked up today! 😂
I have had multiple great experiences at Seams. There was one time where I needed a selection of 6 different colors of tie dye and batik fabric on a time crunch but wasnt able to come and browse because I was sick. After messaging Seams on Facebook, they picked out the perfect fabric for me and I was able to grab it curb-side!
Ive ordered from Seams online several times now and have always been super pleased with the shipping times and product. Im out of state and wanted to make some whimsical items during this pandemic. Seams hooked me up with everything I needed and I only had to walk to my mailbox!! Check them out, totally worth it...and show doesnt love supporting a small business?
I purchased fabric from Seams twice online. The website is easy to use and the design wall is a really handy feature if youre using more than one fabric for a project. The fabric I got was represented accurately on the website. I received my order sooner than I expected.
So happy to have this wonderful store in our town! I have used their curbside pickup and it is such a great service! Order online, pickup curbside! Beautiful high quality fabrics to choose from.
Tiny but mighty! This store has expert (but kindly) sewists on staff, a surprisingly broad collection of fabrics (especially for garment sewing), and great extras like embroidery kits, iron-on patches, indie patterns, and notions. They do have some higher-end, harder-to-find garment fabrics (like Merchant and Mills), but lots of affordable workhorses as well, for all kinds of projects. They also have eco-conscious options like organic cotton thread and estate-sale fabrics, and great remnants. Despite being a boutique in a high-rent area, they are not at all snobby, and are no more expensive than the big sewing chain store in the nearby strip mall. Queer-friendly. Shares some space with the equally-great yarn shop next door.
Seams has a great selection of unique fabrics and excellent customer service! I dont live in Michigan but thanks to online ordering, Seams is still my first stop for new fabric. They make it so easy!
I went to pick up my curbside order today, and an employee rushed outside to get my info before I could finish dialing the phone to let them know I was there!Ive never seen such service!Everything in my order was perfect. :)
There are always wonderful fabrics, patterns, makers kits available. Safe shopping in the store or on line. The staff is always helpful.
Cutest little fabric store. take all my money
Adorable little space full of an excellent selection of high quality (mostly, but not solely, garment) fabrics, attended by knowledgeable and kind staff. The standard stock is awesome, but be sure to keep your eye out for updates on special offerings too, such as vintage treasures and designer deadstock.
The TARDIS of fabric stores -- it must be bigger on the inside, because I dont know how they fit so much amazing fabric into such a small space. But there are always 37 fabrics I need. The patterns are better than the generic ones you find in big box stores. And theres always fun gifty stuff for the sewists in your life. The shop is well curated, and run by extremely knowledgeable and helpful staff. The owner is a true pillar of the community and gives back in too many ways to even count. We are truly lucky to have this store in our community!
I love this store, I love their fabric, staff is so warm, helpful and a pleasure to deal with. The fabric I have purchased is impeccable and I love it.
This fabric shop is absolutely wonderful and just as cute as it looks online. There is a good range of apparel fabrics, some calico cottons, knits, independent and vintage patterns, and a good sized classroom/ workspace space. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. Seams offers a variety of interesting classes and a social night once a week. I’ll definitely be shopping here lots in the future. It’s so great to have a local fabric shop nearby.
TL;DR: 10/10 would recommend. If youre a sewist in East Lansing, you have to go to Seams. Its modern (not your grandmas quilt shop) and the diversity and quality of fabrics is amazing. They are always growing and were a great boon to the community in early Covid days to collaborate and mobilize sewists during great need. Seams is a real community gem.
Great shop run by amazing people. Products are quality and more interesting than the big box stores. Knowledgeable staff for all levels of sewing.
Fantastic local fabric shop with great customer service. Seams carries my favorite linen blend fabrics, as well as other quality fabrics you cant find elsewhere in the area. They also have patterns from small businesses and sewn examples in the store. Theres even a vintage room with really neat vintage fabric, buttons, etc.
Seams is a delightful fabric store in East Lansing. Jessy, the owner, is knowledgeable about the fabrics she carries - a curated selection of beautiful woven, a few knit fabrics, hand-dyed fabrics, reclaimed and vintage textiles. Seams also has a selection of independent sewing patterns that pair well with the fabric collection and a button collection that includes reclaimed and vintage buttons too! You will love your visit.
Seams is a cute little shop that offers more than just fabric. The owner, Jesse, is a fantastic host with who is skilled and extremely knowledgeable on textiles. She offers current, modern, and vintage items, such as buttons, fabrics, patterns, and much more.
I love everything Ive ordered from this fantastic shop.
Great selection for a tiny area. I dropped off some masks to donate and bought stuff for myself :-)
Excellent people, lovely place and prices are good too!!!
