My favorite go to grocery store that lines their shelves with local and Michigan products. I know where my food comes from when I shop here and that is amazing!

This place is employee oriented and the staff is knowledgeable esp in the supplement section. I recommended some customer at whole foods to go there if they had questions on the vitamin s . You get was you pay for here. Great bulk section. Prepackaged deli section was grab and go

This is my favorite place to shop in the greater Lansing area. The quality of the produce is always excellent, shelves are always fully stocked with healthy foods, and the staff is super friendly and courteous. During Covid, they have been extraordinarily conscious of safety for all and I really appreciate that. The dried herbs and spices selection is unrivaled and I highly recommend Foods for Living to everyone who supports local businesses and health.

Foods For Living has a great selection along with a knowledgeable helpful staff. Its enjoyable to look around at their vast selection. Hands down they offer the best non homogenized chocolate milk in glass jars! I went out of my way to purchase Ghee & MCT oil for making bullet proof coffee. I usually shop at Better Health as I live near Frandor. However, the last time I went there they had signs posted informing me as a legal CPL holder I cant carry in their store. Disappointing as perpetrators target such establishments knowing they wont be defended. Therefore, my wife doesnt feel safe there. With all that said, Ill be shopping at Foods For Living even though their prices are higher for supplements. Maybe its a COVID shipping issue as their stock on vitamins were disappointedly low as well.

Used to be a nice store. Went in recently and a girl started turning off each individual freezer light 25-30 minutes before closing time. I could only take this as a sign to finish my shopping at Whole Foods. Thankfully WF is very close by in the same block with a lot better service and prices. Cant support local if local doesnt want business.

I bought some CBD oil in there, the staff was kind and friendly. I had a question and they answered it easily. The organic s were great. I got some grape tomatoes and they were delightful. I’ll go back again.

This USED to be my go to place. Its been about 4 years and it most certainly has declined in professionalism and kindness. Not to mention they dont ever seem to have what I want or need. Sad because Id love to shop there instead of Better Health, which happens to be closer to me. I wish them well but I wont be shopping there anymore.

We were out getting an oil change and we wanted something to drink so my son went in to get the drinks. We have been in there before and gotten different things and knew what they carried. We will go back there another time.

This store is one of the greatest gems we have in Lansing. Im someone that normally does a lot of research into the food and products they buy but I know that no matter what I grab from this store that its already been vetted as excellent. There are lots of local products from lansing sellers and local michigan products. The bulk section is great for snacks, flours, nuts and spices. Ive started going here more often than all other stores in the area.

Had two employees walk past us while waiting for assistance. The first made direct eye contact with us and walked the other way. To the second we said, “excuse me,” and we were completely ignored. We went across the street to Whole Foods. The prices and selection are better and we were in and out in 5 minutes.

Best homemade potato salad and coleslaw and chicken or turkey pies. Carrot cake etc. And vegan blt. They make it in their kitchen and it tastes better than you think looking at it rather than the other way around.They label and carry gluten free for easier finds.Have many health minded employees and products with a medicinal section.. It is a relaxing atmosphere to be in. They work well with local businesses and customers. . All reviews I read here are 5 stars so Google needs to recalculate that number.

Looked all over town for dairy free milk chocolate for my daughter. When I came in, I ask a couple of employees, they happily jumped to help me, and pointed out a few options. Amazing service! And they have dairy free milk chocolate!

Great selection of bulk foods! Just bring a container, weigh it, fill up with whatever you want (grains, beans, granola, even popcorn kernels!) And youre good to go!Staff was very friendly and helpful!

For a great variety of local foods (milk, honey, chocolate, bread, beans, etc.) this is the spot. For families looking to have a fun shopping venture with lots of free samples... Yup.

Love this place! The selection is great and everything is well organized. The produce and ready-made foods are always fresh. They stock more well-known high quality brands but there’s also plenty of hidden gems. By FAR the best bulk spice and grain/legume section within a 60 mile radius.. You have to try the vanilla macaron granola and carrot cake. SO good. Great employees and management. To everyone complaining about the pricing: it’s an organic health food store, and prices are comparable to a certain other place down the road. I’d personally rather spend my money at a local business that doesn’t funnel my money to a large corporation who doesn’t give two **** about me. Dont waste your time coming here if you have medical issues and cant mask. They totally discriminate against people and will tell you to leave . They told me I could do curbside. Im 40 min away. Came home and ordered on Amazon and got everything way cheaper! I thought places couldnt discriminate these days. This place DOES. Ive been in several times in last few months with no mask and never an issue. The good thing to come out of the situation- Amazon is a click of a button not a 40 min drive.

Very good selection of prepackaged deli style items. Fresh meats are frozen. Large vitamin and herbal section. Bulk dispensers of nuts, grains, etc. Special orders are welcome. Clean restrooms.

This is my trusted herbal supply store. Their medicinal section has the largest variety of quality herbal remedies and self care products. The layout of the store is very open, and pleasant to walk through leisurely. Whole foods and herbs are sold by weight for reasonable prices. Also look for fresh items that have been reduced. Produce always has great deals, and all is organic! Some of the specialty items can be pricey, however I find it well worth the visit because of all that I listed. When I am feeling like splurging I go to the kombucha selection, which has craft brews as opposed to the brews sold at other grocery stores. A wonderful, local, health food store!

ONLY PLACE I have found in a 50 mile radius that has Gluten Free Vegan breakfast sausage. I have been looking for months. The staff was super friendly and it was such a nice environment. Even the music playing was very welcoming and right for the situation. Cant recommend this place enough.

If I lived closer to this store, Id be there weekly if not more. They have a wide variety of healthier products and all their produce is organic so you dont have to check each label to figure it all out. Its also important to me to know that its employee-owned. I like supporting them, and I know my investment will stay and help the local economy.

They have local organic apples and a nice selection of organic meats, both national brands and locally sourced. Nut butters ground on site weekly. Very friendly service. A nice personal care selection of healthier personal care products and non-traditional cleaners. Bulk organic Frontier teas and spices that you dispense in the size thats right for your needs. Bulk foods, cosmetics and wellness items.

Its a decent shop for living that organic/local/hippy lifestyle bit that whole foods tries to cash in on. Since this is a local place, it feels more authentic. Great bulk section and good representation of local coffee. I think its a size issue, but some things simply arent sold here whereas you may be surprised to find something else. Worth a visit.

Every time I go to this store looking for something it never ceases to amaze me on what I find. From groceries to home care products. There are so many products that I would recommend buying here. They can be a bit pricey sometimes but its worth it ( For instance the hand soaps last a long time so I find my self not replacing that home item as often ) and they actually have good prices for a good number of things. Theyve got the best potatoes and a good amount of other good produce.To top it all off the employees are always very polite and kind. To give an example I had bought some kiwis from Aldi and they were very bitter so when I went to find some elsewhere I came here and talked to the store general manager Kirk and had explained that to him and then asked if id be okay If I tried one before buying any. To my surprise he let me and it was a good kiwi so then decided to buy some.

Amazing grocery store that provides high quality organic produce and all other products. The bulk cart is a great addition if youre looking for some cheap produce that youre ready right away. They have a big variety of specialty sauces and mustards. They are very good about labeling which products are gluten free or contain other allergens.

This store has numerous specialty foods that I cant find anywhere else locally. The staff is knowledgeable and kind, and theyll do everything in their power to help you find what youre looking for--or order it for you. The supplement area is stocked beyond belief--its almost 1/3 of the space in the store. Its wonderful. Im gluten free, corn free, soy free, and dairy free, so Im truly grateful to find things like sheeps milk yoghurt and candy that isnt made with high fructose corn syrup. Thank you for existing, Foods For Living. Ill shop your store over Whole Foods any day of the week and every weekend. ;)

Please support this place instead of Whole Foods! They have most of the same stuff you can find at Whole Foods, and its an employee-owned, local, independent business. The prices are similar and Foods for Living has more discounted items. The staff here is also so nice and helpful, and the store is really clean and easy to navigate.

I drive from Holt just to get certain fruits and spices. This time, about 2 weeks ago, I brought my 16yr old daughter with me and we got stereotyped as thieves. As soon as we walk in, the guy in on top of us. Then I guess as he realized I wasnt trying to be bothered he decided to peek around the corners at us. WHAT A JERK! Thank you for giving my daughter her first experienced at a grocery store of feeling like we were going to steal something!! She noticed first! We dont have to steal!!

Ive shopped at Foods For Living for around 20 years. In that time Ive enjoyed interaction with employees who are knowledgeable and friendly and who are dedicated to excellence. Not only have they gone out of their way to assist me in finding products but they make a pointed effort to familiarize themselves with the products they carry. One time a manager helped my husband find an equivalent of a product they didnt carry by evalating the ingredients and satisfied the requirements fully with an alternative combination. Another time another manager took a few minutes to encourage me when my mother passed away that week. Those are just two of many good experiences we have shared. Its a great place to shop.

FFL has a friendly and helpful staff, fresh dairy & produce (including the only local place I know of with organic, fair trade bananas), lots of local products, a small but decent beer & wine selection, a well-stocked vitamin & supplement area, bulk items, and a really good offering of gluten free products. I can do most of my shopping there.
