This store is full of wonders! It has many old books, prints/portraits, mini statues, and ceramics. There is a lot of cool taxidermy to admire as well as the owners foreign mask collection. :) I bought a 1930s/40s sun hat and a book about classical Greece.
Organized…StuffWhen I viewed my “Wonders of Wisconsin” map and located the Antique Emporium in the city of Eau Claire, the challenge was on. The two and half hour drive was well worth it.The store is like a giant treasure chest. If you have the time to seek, you will hopefully find whatever you’re looking for somewhere on its three floors. After a quick search on the first floor, I hit pay dirt on the second floor within large folders full of food ads. It was fun to browse and find just what I wanted at a reasonable price. Later I scoured file drawers for European postcards, in particular, Paris and Lisbon, Portugal.Surprisingly, things were organized in groups; lamps, clothes, books, linens, etc. so it made the searches easier as you went to each area to look through items. One of the men that helped me was very nice and informative. It was a wonderful start to a day of adventure.Overall: Before arriving, have an idea of what your looking for so that you’re not overwhelmed when you step inside. The upper levels can be a bit on the chilly side so bring along a coat or jacket.
Very cool store. They separated a lot of their items by country of origin but there seemed to be a bit of everything. More larger items than simple trinkets. If you have money to spend and want unique items then this is the place to go!
Great place to check out for rare and unusual antiques and books, definitely worth the stop!
Incredible selection of signed and numbered prints, as well as original artwork. I have never seen this amount of artwork and signed prints in one place. More expensive than most antique shops, but the quality of the pieces is worth it. Most pieces are well framed and matted. As far as other items, they have a large selection of small and medium sized sculptures and some busts. They also have a lot of magazines and calendars. The walls also have a lot of various animal busts (Varying degrees of quality here, but Im not an expert. Some looked a bit worn but there are quite a lot.) There is a not-for-sale display of ethnic antiques as well, which is very interesting. Overall, it is my impression that this shop specializes in prints and original artworks. They do an excellent job in both their collection and their display. Easy to see everything, and from multiple angles. 10/10!
Lots of cool and unique things, even from somewhere as remote as Papua New Guinea! If I was buying a new home and needed furniture or decor Id totally fiyne here to get a lot of it
Very well organized. Theyre focused on 19th century items, with the largest collection busts and other small sculptures that Ive ever seen.
The most outstanding antiques shop Ive ever been in. It was the most relaxing time I spent in a shop. The collections were breathtaking. Will Definitely be coming back.
The staff is very helpful and friendly and they have a huge assortment of things. A must for any fan of antiques! Nothing else like it in town!
The place is so huge seen an antique frame with a picture of a child in it from the 1820’s which anything from early 1800’s to 1700’s is very hard to find. May try to get that frame one of these days, but one day I felt sorry for the employee there when their card reader wasn’t working for him. One time I thought it was hilarious how a worker there didn’t remember the antique clogs they had and all I did was dig around in the case which I seen some of the shoes in there wasn’t priced, but I’m sure i could always ask how much is this and a worker would figure that out somehow. Have to learn when they add different items to the half off section there cause that’s a fun snoop in that section up stairs. The workers like hearing my story of how I got from another antique store an antique Victorian dress in perfect shape for $40 and the one worker even helps me find items to go with that dress on my headless mannequin
I went there to sell some antique silverware and a few other things. I wasnt impressed with his service. I wont go there again. Thats for sure.
Theres no better antique mall in Eau Claire. Check it out!
Very cool place! Staff is very knowledgeable.
Wow, talk about a large collection of items, its here. Books, records, dishes, magazines, statues, etc. Fun place.
Lots of great antiques! However the elevator doesnt appear to be working as it was being used for storage. My husband who needs to use a walker wouldnt be able to access your upper floors.
You could spend hours in this place.
The wife and I love this place. With 3 floors of stuff there is so much to look at.The first floor has such amazing antiques and unique items and with the private collections it is a much to gawk at.The second floor is my favorite with what I would consider a more normal selection. But every thing is played out nicely and there is generally room to move around unlike some antique malls. The 3ed floor is still a worthy visit as well.Overall this is a regular stop if we are in the mood to go antiquing.
Finally back open its good to see covid didnt kill this place its so special very unique inventory 3 floors a great place to shop
Lots of neat stuff to see..
Wow. If you like places that you can spend a lot of time poking thru stuff, this is it! Alot of terrific matted and framed art, advertising, prints etc. Enjoyed looking at all the collections. Its located in a historic building, which adds to the ambiance. Did I mention the elevator that you have to close by hand - come on! How cool is that?! Lots of fun. Highly recommend if you are a Ill know it when I see it kind of person.
ImpressedVery large selection on three floors. I didnt see any real bargains. But, the prices were fare. If you are looking for antiques, stop in.Street parking. This is an historic building that isnt too handicap friendly. The first floor might be OK in some areas.
Amazing place huge selection of whatever you like for antiques. You can spend an entire day there. Very good chance you will stumble on something hard to find and unique.
👍
Mostly the stuff nobody likes to see
Well priced antiques from glassware to furniture, brone statue s to hunting trophies mounted on wall. Huge book collection. So much to see. I didnt plan my timing right and missed out on the third floor. I will definitely be back!
Mixed feelings here. Its a treasure trove of many great (and some not so great) things but pricing is not in line with most places Ive been. Saw several things I could have taken but walked out with nothing. Maybe personal preference, but I cant say I was overly impressed.
Very helpful staff and an amazing dog that holds very still. Look for it. Also really great antiques, could spend hours here.
Many cool treasures! Definitely take your time looking through because you never know what youll find!
Extremely unfriendly staff. Not once did any of them even bother to look up at us. Very dark and not well lit. Things are not marked well. Our first experience out and about visiting local shops in Eau Claire and won’t be returning to this place, which is a shame because it looked like they had some neat stuff.
Interesting place. Huge! Three floors and not junk, some really cool stuff, a real antique shopper (which I am not) could probably spend days...old building, walking on the old floors sometimes made thing on the nearby shelves shake...and I am not a huge guy...
What an amazing place. Go in and just walk and look. Thats all you can do. This place is a feast for the eyes and you just need to take it all in. This place is amazing and worth an hour perusing around looking at some amazing things.
Interesting and unique selection, wide variety of antiques (not just old farmhouse stuff). Great selection of old Asian pottery, we got a good deal on two beautiful vases.
So so so much to look at. I think the prices could come down for it to be a regular place to visit to be honest. They do have some very unique items, though.
Absolutely amazing! A must see whenever you are in Eau Claire. Could spend hours browsing the three floors. Especially interesting were the old maps and posters.
Really nice Victorian antiques. Helpful, knowledgeable staff. Owner is very approachable for history on items and possible bargaining.
Staff was friendly and very helpful. Lots to see
Super cool! Mostly, 19th century or earlier. Nice staff -- Hi, Linda!
They have a ton of unique old items. They didnt want the WW2 era chest my friend wanted to sell they onmy wanted older stuff
Expansive selection of items. Beautiful building with multiple levels and sellers. I find something unique every time.
This is absolutely the best antiques/curiosities shop Ive ever seen.
One of the most incredible antique shops youll encounter. Its more like a museum with its taxidermy on every open surface, plethora of bronze statues, and art prints galore. If you need an antique frame - this is the place to visit.
The pieces are nothing special and there is not much value in the time spent looking.
3 stories of very cool antiques.
Amazing collections of...amazing things. Not to be missed.
Wow!... Kind of bewildering the selection they have. I do believe the sales for the street sculptures are managed by this business too, but I could be wrong. Very cool location.
Prices are fare, its just something to see the antiques everywhere
Holy cow! 4 floors of antiques and uniques! As well as picture framing and a private African art display. Very cool.
Nice for the first time no inventory turn same old stuff that hasnt sold
There is always so many different things there all of the time! It is awesome!
Three floors of antiques, lots of furniture, old prints, animal mounts, books, china, and plenty of everything else. Some prices are really quite reasonable and some make you roll your eyes, like most antique stores. Definitely worth checking out.
Its so rare and hard to find an antique store that isnt filled with smurf glasses. These are real antiques. Lots of very unique items and great old photos and posters pre-matted and a huge selection of frames. Skip Michaels and go here first.
Full of treasures, more to see every time.
Very cool place. Lots to see and some amazing items for sale
Best shop in Eau Claire. Tons of stuff, especially cloisone!!!
Amazing collection of antiques and collectable. Easy to get lost looking at the variety of items.
Very eclectic collection of items.
Massive store and everything an antique collector could hope for
This is hands down my favorite place to antique!! I love all of the loose prints and art!!!
Excellent customer service, great item collections.
Awesome kinda like antiques road show stuff
So much to view. Well worth the stop.
Incredible amount of interesting and high dollar antiques. So much to see, I had a hard time minding the signage telling me what not to touch and where not to wander.
Interesting antique shop. Its a big place.
Lots of really neat and authentic pieces
Wonderful shop, went there in a whim with friends and we were amazed at how many cool antiques there were. It is on the more expensive side however
Its a great place to see some nicer antiques but fairly high prices and some items that we were interested in are not for sale
Not the old rusty type of antique store. Mostly glassware, Victorian type antiques and artwork.
Cool Place...Unique Stuff
Well organize. Extensive
Lots of stuff to browse through from ephemera to furniture.
Three floors filled with awesome antiques!
A lot of antiques I will never see anywhere else
Lots of history! AWESOME place
One of the best shops in the mid west.
A museum with things you can buy.
Truly - an amazing collection!
Varry rude asked a question and he got snobby with me.....
Best antique shop in the upper Midwest/Wisconsin/Minnesota!!
Just a lot of old stuff. Its like going to grandmas attic. Some folks like that though.
Lots of old pictures so if you are looking for that type of stuff there you go.
Love this place
Nice collection of antiques.
You need more then a day to take it all in... Wow
