First time at Shift for the bike repair half of the shop. Took my bike in for service not expecting to pick it up for a few days. Adrian asked if I had a few minutes. 20 mins later, done! My bike works flawlessly. Super knowledgeable and great fast service. Will definitely return future service. Thank you!

What can I say: I own a small specialty coffee roasting business so I’m REALLY picky about coffee shops, and this place nails it. Great multi-roaster options featuring fantastic Wisconsin-based roasters, pour over, espresso, drip, and non-coffee options - all tucked into an adorable little spot and part of a bike shop, no less! Just perfect. 10/10, would recommend

Quite possibly one of my all time favorite coffee shops. I live in the cities but when we are back visiting family in EC it always warrants a stop here. Between the spaced out tables and vaulted ceilings it makes it feel like theres tons of space and not everyone can hear your conversations. Familiar staff and patrons, cold press on tap is the best, dreamy interior, fast wifi... Good stuff yall.

I love a great coffee/bike shop combo, and SHIFT did not disappoint! I was there for the coffee half on this stop...not the bike half. My cafe miel was delicious, well-balanced, and served by friendly baristas. The berry scone was just the sweetness I needed to start my day! Added bonus of beautiful artwork on the walls to appreciate as I waited for my drink.

Decent coffee not the greatest coffee experience i’ve ever had compared to cabin coffee, i love the unique choices/styles so i’ll give em a 3/5 for creative edge. This is not a review of bike shop portion. They have some specials that i thought would be good for some but not most. Thanks for coffee!

Hands down my favorite place to go for coffee! Some staff members have my order memorized, and it’s the absolute best Oat Milk Mocha I’ve ever had and their gluten free peanut butter cookies are SO GOOD:) My boyfriend loves their caramel lattes and waffles! thanks guys for being awesome!It’s also a super chill and relaxing environment, great place for a date or meet up of any kind! Hands down one of my favorite places in Eau Claire. Our first time here, staff walked us through the menu and recommended this blood dragon tea. Watching him make the tea was an experience in itself. He took such care and passion to measure it out and filter the tea, needless to say, tea was phenomenal. The coffee was great too. Moreover, as far as the atmosphere is concerned, its very laid back, plenty of room and places to sit. Very chill and quiet. Great place to come and hang out and do work.

Adrian has worked on my bike several times now and is very friendly and helpful. This bike shop is also the only shop that seems to be able to fix my bike in a timely manner.

I love studying here! The environment is so relaxing and it always smells like fresh baked goods. They use the best almond milk for their lattes (Pacific) and those baked good that smell so good are delicious! I had a gluten free vegan toasted coconut muffin and it was amazing. Im not vegan or gluten free, I just really like coconut, but I couldnt even taste a difference!

Pretty good stuff on selection, but it is a smaller selection for food and drink. Great idea to make a place to tune your bike and grab something nice. The waffle things (dinges?) are delicious. There is a difference between the regular and vegan versions, but both are tasty and worth trying. The staff is helpful in narrowing down what you might want. The selection of bike parts seemed extensive to me, but I personally am not that into cycling. Would recommend.

Hands down the best place for bike repairs in Eau Claire. Friendly, fast, knowledgeable service and the best rates in town I have found. They often fix my bike on the spot with little wait, and they have a coffeeshop onsite with a courteous staff and great coffee. So great that I have made SHIFT my go to place to sit down and enjoy a cup. Highly recommended.

I was planning on buying my bicycle from a shop in the twin cities and when I came into Shift I decided to buy local instead. Not only were the bike guys (Adrian and Sean) super knowledgeable and helpful, they also made it very enticing by giving me a very fair price and discount on a new bike. Highly recommend going to Shift if you are considering purchasing a bicycle. They even do service on bicycles as well- either way, I highly recommend them. They have a lot of experience/knowledge and it doesn’t hurt that they are nice people as well.

Really cool place period. Employees are friendly. Enjoy a beer while they work on your bike or others. The mechanists are happy to talk about specific details and explain how they are fixing things. Real easy going, no one here on a high saddle.

OH SHIFT WHERE DO I START...This place has become so dear to my wife and I and our good friends. We love meeting friends here and you can literally spend hours on end just soaking in all the wonderful things about this place. I could right a whole book on how AMAZING their home made LIEGE WAFFLES ARE! There is so much love, comfort, care in everything they do there. Its a place that you can go to several times a week and your still excited to go back again! The coffee is amazing (best in town), the people are INCREDIBLE, the atmosphere is super hipster/westcoast vibes, and oh those waffles...you feel so welcomed every time you walk in those DOORS. And if that wasnt enough they sell and repair bikes!HANDS DOWN best place in the CHIPPEWA VALLEY, even if you dont like coffee ;) We LOVE YOU SHIFT! Cant wait to becoming here for years to come...

Super hip spot. bike shop AND coffee shop and they have food, beer on tap, 2 types of kombucha on tap. Cool outdoor seating in the alley and out front. Comfy cozy wood decor. I take my bike here and they are fast and affordable.

Redefining Eau Claire.If it says anything, one visit was enough to tell me that Shift is not in the business of messing around. This is a cyclery that does more than fix bikes; a coffee shop that does more than make coffee: Shift is a hub, a conduit bringing people of all walks of life together -- whether they be cyclists or otherwise. Weekly group rides -- which I would highly recommend trying -- around the Eau Claire area (open to all ages, abilities, and levels) then further this developement of community establishing a network of cyclists that was did not previously have such strength.With regards to the servicing of bikes:Several repairs at this shop and frequent consultations with mechanics make for quite a bit of confidence in asserting that the people who work here know what they are doing, and do it well. Further, if the shop does not have what you need they can order it in, and if they cannot offer a service you require (take carbon frame repair to be an example) they can send you in the right direction. Beyond all of these things, I find myself so moved by the honesty and transparency exercised by Shift employees. While such is not unique to this establishment, it is certainly not common and I find it quite refreshing.Whether looking to repair a bike, get some coffee, hang out with friends, do some studying, or anything in-between, the warm and inviting atmomsphere, selection of brilliant foods and coffee, and friendly, knowledgeable staff make Shift hard to beat.

The atmosphere here is amazing, such a warm and welcoming place. Their espresso is THE BEST Ive had in the Chippewa Valley. Its a great place to catch up with a friend or read alone. Love it!

The owners really care about their customers. I brought in a wheel for a spoke replacement that had some complications. The service ended up not being done after about 4 weeks of waiting. I told them I was in no rush to get the wheel fixed but I was still bothered that it never got finished. One of the owners reached out to me. We had a good conversation about what had happened. I really appreciate their concern for their customers and I am glad to know I have an honest LBS to go to.

Great place to get bike maintenance done. They did a great job helping me with a Salsa bike warranty issue. While you are at it, have some great coffee.

I really like the ambiance here; it has a slightly different feel from some of the other cafes in town thanks in large part to their focus on bicyclists. I hope that they add more options to the food selection in the future. Their beverage selection has a few unique offerings that I look forward to trying in the future.

My inner coffee snob, bike-loving, foodie self is so very happy here! Miel is crafted perfectly and the vegan liege waffle is doing a happy dance in my tummy!We stopped for coffee and bakery items but was excited to see there healthy grab-n-go options like hummus and pita chips. This is a must stop if your in the area.

Traveling across the country weekly and looking for good coffee. This is the best I have found coast to coast. Atmosphere is great and the waffles are the best in the State!

This is the primiere location for quality craft coffee. They had a phenomenal variety of rotating coffee for pour overs as well as the drip option. Even more, the coffee they are making is for sale in whole bean. I was lucky enough to come in when they were serving Onyx and Ruby.

Easily the best and one of the cheapest pour overs in Eau Claire, with mini waffles that are surprisingly filling and very complementary to their coffee. The bike shop front desk merges perfectly with one end of the coffee bar, which makes the atmosphere really cohesive, along with excellent decorations and furniture. SHIFT is already a downtown staple.

Outstanding lattes, served in real ceramic mugs, cereamy paint textured steamed milk not a mug full of foam like most chain or wannabe coffee shops. Intelligencia beans for espresso. Nice rotating selection of coffee for pour over. Will return.

Had the Americano and a street waffle and my daughter had the hot chocolate. We were here for Words and Waffles and open microphone poetry session. Perfect setting for it with lots of natural light and nice breeze coming through the open garage door. Friendly service.

OMG... the best cappuccino Ive ever had. I love this light very beautiful space where I meet my friends and new people. The Ambiance is clean and inspiring and the coffee is top-notch.

Just go here and give them your money! My favorite things Are Here bicycles coffee baked goods vegan food they also had beer and oh did I say bicycles and coffee already? The inside of the coffee bike shop at shift was wonderful packed with a bunch of Art and bicycles and had a very open atmospheric feel. I think this would be my spot if I lived in Eau Claire the music was great the coffee was done right I got an espresso and it served with the tonic water. There was a few vegan options for baked goods that would have accompanied coffee really well if I hadnt already eaten this morning. The music playing over head was upbeat and great rejuvenating. I love that that people making the baked goods or doing it right in front of you and not hiding in the back definitely handcrafted I will try them next. As far as the bicycle selection goes theres a few Brands Cannondale Kona and a salsa bike I like seeing Brooks saddles and ortlieb panniers and bags for sale are two of my favorite Brands and solid gear .

Such a comfortable place! There is nothing more proudly Eau Clairian than strong coffee and bikes.

Few places take their coffee this seriously and do such a variety this well. I was in town for 3 days and stopped each day to try something different. The drip coffee was good but the espresso & Nitro cold brew were both some of the best coffee Ive ever had. The prices are fair, service fast, and staff are super friendly. They stock locally roasted coffee at a great price and the merchandise is pretty cool too. As a cyclist, I was happy to see a variety of bikes for various styles of riders and that they had information on the local Eau Clair high school and middle school cycling team (I coach in a neighboring state). Hopefully they can get directly involved with the team and show them some maintenance tips and help get the kids set up on great Kona bikes.All in all, youd be missing out on great coffee and a beautiful shop if you failed to stop by while in town. This place should become a fixture of the community.

Last week SHIFT held a clinic for the local youth mountain bike team, they organized a fun bikepacking overnighter that I attended (and had a blast on), and its like that all the time---doing things to enhance the local biking scene and bring cyclists together. These folks are an asset to the community. Oh, and they serve up a darn good cup of joe, too.
