About 2013 my wife persuaded me to have my hearing tested by a professional. I knew for years I could not hear well. My wife does not hear well either. Beth, the audiologist at Hear Today tested both of us. It was no surprise we needed hearing aids. At that time we purchased state of the art hearing aids. The hearing difference for both of us was incredible. If there was excessive background noise, occasionally we struggled to hear. Over 6 years the device technology improved considerably. We tried the new devices and knew we had to have them. The hearing improvement in all situations is better than ever. Now we are truly hearing aid dependent. If we are awake, the only time we dont use them is if we are in conditions that will harm our devices. Being able to hear well is a blessing. BTK was my first experience with the VA and a hearing exam.The office is very easy to find, off major roads. Offices are very clean and the staff is very concerned that they will be able to find the correct devices to fit your needs.I did have the hearing test in a booth and then we discussed the various devices available. I have had my hearing aids for 3 months now. My hearing was damaged by farming noise many decades ago. As an RN and teacher for almost 50 years I can say that Beth and the HEARtoday staff have been very professional. I do recommend being seen by an audiologist. Waited a while before doing this review.Still as excited and happy about the hearing aids! It is amazing the things I hear now with them.I periodically run karaoke shows and the hearing aids allow me to hear singers requests even when another singer is performing. The hearing aids cut out the loud music and allow me to hear singer requests. This was not the case before the hearing aids.I cannot say enough good things about the hearing aids and the great service I receive from Ascent Audiology.

I have had a hearing aid since I was just over a year old. Needless to say, Ive had a lot of audiologists. Beth has been one of my best. Ascent Audiology was quite the find! The Audiologist, Beth Thomas and her assistant Laura were warm and welcoming when we met. Beth was thorough in rigorously testing my hearing, explaining the results and providing options to correct my failing hearing. Laura adjusted my hearing aid to make me more comfortable and also made sure my paper work was properly done. She worked with my insurance company to make sure I received the proper benefit. Beth and Laura have always been polite, patient and understanding as Ive gone through the process of adjusting to wearing hearing aids. Theyve allowed me to drop in with out an appointment for any help or adjustments I needed. Dr Thomas is a wonderfully talented audiologist. She helped my 92 year old father-in-law with his first experience of hearing aids. I just visited with Beth today (3/26/2019). My experience was amazing! I brought hearing aids I had purchased in 2015 to my appointment. Although I had returned to my previous audiology clinic several times, they were unable to resolve the difficulties I was having with my hearing aids - primarily they would not stay in my ears. They popped out every few seconds and I would have to push them back in. I soon gave up wearing them. Over the years I would, occasionally, try them again and once returned to the audiology clinic where I had purchased them. The same problems continued. When I met with Beth, she examined my hearing aids, evaluated them and my hearing and proposed a solution - reprogramming my hearing aids and replacing some parts (sorry, I am not sure of the part). I can report that about 6 hours after Beths adjustments, my husband can listen to the tv at a level acceptable to him - and I can also hear it. I went to a restaurant with friends and, for the first time in years, I could hear them! To same I am pleased is an understatement - I am leaving on vacation tomorrow and am confident I will be able to hear!!!

I was referred to Ascent by a friend and am now grateful he did. Ive been wearing a competitors aids for many years and knew I needed to make a change both in the product and the service. Beths knowledge of the products and software tools to set up Starkey aids is excellent. She was able to guide me through the process of using the App on my IPhone which was very helpful. I had the good fortune to need new hearing aids when the NEW LiVio AI products were introduced in September. They rock. I am hearing like I have not been hearing for many years. They helped me with financing which I appreciated. Laura does a great job. She not only schedules appointments, but she knows the software tools very well and has helped me out both in person and on a phone call. Shes like tech support for hearing aid iphone software. My 81 year old mother has suffered significant hearing loss over the last 10+ years. She supposedly maxed out potential gains from hearing aids and was not offered alternatives that might lead to a better quality of life as it relates to being social and communicating with family and friends. We received a recommendation to see Beth Thomas. Beth made many nuanced adjustments over time to my moms aids, which did result in an incremental lift in hearing. At the same time, she acknowledged there wasnt much more to be gained and started introducing us to different technologies, new to the market, like a tiny, portable bluetooth speaker. This technology immediately improved my moms ability to hear and understand 1:1 conversations and participate in small group gatherings with more confidence. Beth is an incredibly understanding and patient service provider, diligently trying to look for wins in a tough situation. My mom and I both highly recommend Beth Thomas and Ascent Audiology and Hearing.

This is for anyone looking for a good audiologist:I highly recommend Ascent Audiology and the their head audiologist Beth Thomas. I began working with Beth a little over a year ago when I realized it was time for hearing aids. I promise you there is much more to getting hearing aids than simply buying the devices and putting them in your ears. I had concerns with the stigma of wearing hearing aids (looking old to coworkers) as well as what to expect when flying, getting them wet, playing sports and so on. This is when Beth’s competence started to shine. It was obvious she had experience with everything that I was going through and she helped me understand what to expect and put me on what I will call a program to incorporate hearing aids into my daily life. This isn’t a one step process. Hearing aids take time to get used to and they perodically need to be adjusted as your ears become accustomed to having the extra help hearing. After my inital fitting and adjustments, Beth told me at some point in the future I would become unsatisfied with how they work. For me it took about a year but true to her prediction I felt my hearing aids weren’t doing as good a job as I would like. I went back in and she happily made the changes for me to hear better once again. As for dealing with Ascent the organization....there is one thing I really appreciate that the other doctors I see haven’t figured out. When I have an appointment at Ascent for 10:30AM, by 10:30 I am sitting across the desk and the appointment has begun, not sitting in a waiting room for another 30 minutes or 45 or even more. They very much respect you and your time and put the meaning of customer service back in to the experience of seeing a medical professional. Two thumbs up for this organization.
